I'm glad you enjoyed it I was fortunate enough to be there on that wonderful night in Paris 3 rows from the front watch sussudio from the same show you'll be surprised what he does
Best reaction of this song on the internet, allowing the song to continue with a few words in the background and then when finished expressing your views and feelings…. Perfect…. Beautiful woman by the way….👍
Joy Jean...just a suggestion...make yourself postage stamp size and enlarge the screen for the audience's enjoyment...the visual impact for us is 90% of the Magic..💕🙋🌹🇺🇸✌️
When he comes in on the drums.... it's one of the best moments in music. It charges you with emotion like a slap in the face. Your reaction is priceless
@@jamesbutler5570 not sharing the same media or living in a country not rooted in western culture is not "living under a rock." No need to be so uncivil.
Mr. Collins was the artist who encouraged me to try singing after I learned to play the drums. I found out I could sing while playing the drums and I was able to play in club bands for over twenty years. Of all the great drummers who inspired me, Phil is at the top of the list.
Mr. Collins is getting dressed following the intermission of his Paris concert of 2004. A great, fun and entertaining 2 1/2 hr. concert! So that is why he is dressing on stage as part of the show.
He doesn’t do an intermission- he’s actually making sure the wiring for his headset and his in- ear monitors are under his top- this he’s putting the tip back on after fitting his mic- just clearing that up-
He has a typically British droll sense of humor. Quite a few years ago now, he appeared on Arsenio Hall's late-night talk show, & said to him: "You know, in the U.K., we like to address friends by their nicknames; so, is it alright if I call you 'Arse'?"
I saw Phil Collins and his former Group=GENESIS in their first-ever bill topping performances when they were called in as "Bell 'n Arc" Disbanded on the day of the gig in front of 3,000 at Croydon Greyhound, S E London in 1972 :)
I saw Genesis' first-ever bill topping performances when they were called in as "Bell 'n Arc" Disbanded on the day of the gig in front of 3,000 at Croydon Greyhound, S E London in 1972 :)
Your knowledge is, probably, greater than mine but it was at the time of their earlier Albums b4 The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, etc. More Foxtrot and Nursery Cryme playing Musical Box and Supper's Ready but a good show as you would expect and 49 years ago now, which is disconcerting for all of us :)
@@Isleofskye I yield to your superior knowledge and experiences sir ! again, thank you so much for sharing. And just so you know, 49 years ago I was -3 ! A big hello from New Zealand as well.
This concert was in Paris 2004. 80,000 people, I was 25 and there. It was beyond magic... Phil lifted us up in the air and showed us new spheres we didn't know existed.
I’ve been watching these reaction videos all day, and yours is my favorite. I love you understood and felt the pain behind the song. It’s been 40 years since this song came out and I feel it like that every time I hear it.
My Daughter was at that concert, She grew up to his music and she knew was going to be her last chance to see him Live. She said the atmosphere was pure Energy.
One of the worlds most famous drum parts. Almost everybody’s punches out in the air. Lot’s of great work in Genesis too. And as always a pleasure watching you listening to the music. 💝
I have watched SO many reactions and I cry EVERY time!!! The vast majority of men and women say they have chills, sweat or cry. Soul piercing, POWERFUL performance!!!!!
I envy this woman. To be listening to this song for the first time? It's such a joy to see her reaction. I wish I could go back in time to when I first heard it. Well done!
If I may say so, this is one of the best reaction/reviews of what this performance was about, after seeing it for the first time. You absolutely got it young lady, kudos to you.
yes. I thinks the orientation of the lyrics context is really important. Griefs of divorce could be insanes.. But... he does of that an inspiring work whit class. im a french man from Québec, Canada 🇨🇦, 💭i love ur personality. u have a subscibers.✍ syd
If this is one of those clips, it doesn't matter whether you've heard the song or not you have to see it. Not knowing the song allows you to be surprised. But knowing it means the anticipation builds as he strolls up the stairs and towards the drumset, and that may make the drum intro even more shocking.
This man SO SO great. With Genesis & Solo. You need to hear him play for Robert Plant Little by Little or In the Mood. Plant is the former Lead Singer of Led Zepplin. Remember Great Music Comes from Real Artist that use Real Instruments for Real Music. Notice no Dancers, No auto-tune. No off Mic. its all him. Now to this day His is being replaced by His Son... Note Phil is left handed. also note during that solo he is back by Chester was back bone his music and Genesis until his son started to take over. Long live Collins..This song is about him getting a Divorce. Lord Im so damn blessed to have grown up in the 70s & 80s When there was so much great ARTIST that Made OUT OF THIS WORLD MUSIC. Not like todays want a be crap of remakes. You need to hear him do the song called ABBA Cab Live by Genesis. Then you can truly understand just how great this man was.
Empress, love you! You are so animated and emotional and beautiful with a bright smile. Hope you read this and know how much I enjoy you. be safe, stay well and know peace.
"They're getting him dressed on stage?" It's his show. He has impeccable timing, as he proved several times during the show. Him finishing getting dressed is all part of the timing. Lot's of performers actually do this, they just don't usually show it.
You just listened to a LEGEND of Music worldwide ... that's how a true LEGEND enters the stage and the concert begins .... so calm, so confident, so focused, so humble in appearance ... but the song that he sings it's with such a STRONG tone and message and every human from the whole arena knows who he really is.
great to see somebody be that moved by a piece of music i grew up with. two words to describe your reaction as he started playing the drums "mind blown."
As a young taxi driver, Phil witnessed a 'hit-and-run-' accident where the unfortunate victim died. This is what this song is about. He saw the driver.....
Empress, And now you know why people recommend this version! Lol - love this. Outstandingly good version. The look on your face when he hits the skins lol 😂😂😂👍👍👍
The sheer fact he can play every instrument. An did for that whole album... You , Empress wud be the most fun to go to a concert with... Your appreciation for music is a complete JOY!!! ✌🏼💗😊🫂
Now I play drums, and I sing, I also do them at the same time and occasionally even get paid to do it. With that being said, this performance is masterful. It's the top of the mountain. Love it.
Such a gratis reacciona from you! Phil was considered one of the best drummer-composers of progressive rock. I 'd like to see you react to "Follow you, Follow me" from Genesis.
Love to see this emotion and surprise. Just like his singing it is so authentic and visceral. Phil's emotion builds and builds to a climax that takes you over. It literally takes your breath away! Just WOW.
Ladies don't sweat they glisten. You are glistening. Thank you for this video reaction I'm glad you finally got to see it and enjoy the heck out of it. Take care of yourself. July 2023
If you are going to watch it again, watch the first live version. Apparently, this happened decades ago. Phil Collins was super young back then. I tell you, the emotion he displayed on this version cannot hold a candle to the early version. Don’t be dissuaded by the smaller amount of views. After watching your reaction (which was great), I went to take a listen to the early version. It really is that good and really worth watching. His emotion and drumming, omg.
For those of us in the know, the anticipation as he strolls casually up the stairs, across the upper stage and towards the drum kit is ALL a big build up to a LEGEND about to drop the MOST insane, iconic and most loved beat in all of rock history!!! Your reaction when he did just that was TOTALLY priceless hun and was well worth the wait! You can actually hear the crowd start to cheer as he walks up to the drums KNOWING what is about to go down and I cant think of ANYBODY watching either at the gig itself or watching this reaction that WAS NOT playing air drums at that specific time LOL :D :D :D
He is always better live i feel. Try I Don't Care Anymore (Live Perkins Palace 1982) and Take me home the first final farewell tour. This ones really good.
No one ever comments on that breath control I've been waiting for this moment all my liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiife
Phil Collins and Genesis the song is called "man on the corner." You will like that song trust me.

It's a great reaction when you almost jump out of your skin when Phil hits his drums. Great to watch!
Sir Phillip Colins ( Phill Colins)
Mr. Collins has worked with the Royal Family for charity fund raising for decades and has given away a lot over the years. A big heart has he.
What a beautiful reaction. So glad you enjoyed it.

His timing to the seat at the drums was millisecond perfect !!
I think this has to be the best live performance in music history period. this or Billie Jean by MJ
The effect only works when you lived under a rock for last 30 years.

the guy with the white beard playing the bass guitar is Leland Sklar. he has been with phil for years and has a youtube channel.
jealous of Phil to get so much emotion from such a beautiful woman
