This is a true LEGEND at work. Phil is a world class drummer who can really sing. He is a music ICON and a true great person. I could listen to this all day long it will never get old. One of the greatest performances from any musician any where any time. This is IMMORTAL!!! Every time at the drum drop I get MASSIVE CHILLS, I am I the only 1?

On July 13, 1985, during Live Aid how many performers played sets in both London, UK, and Philadelphia, USA? One, Phil Collins played 2 sets in England, boarded a plane, and played 3 sets in Philly. Respect!
He was 53 years old when he did this concert in Bercy, Paris in 2004. Truly an amazing performance by Brad Cole (keyboards, synthesizers, Vocoder), Daryl Stuermer (6 String Guitar), Leland Sklar (Bass Guitar), Chester Thompson ("Rhythm" Drums) and Phil himself (vocals, drums). It was performed in front of 20,000 + people at the "Palais Omnisport de Paris" and truly was, if not the greatest, close to the greatest live performance ever. It was from his "Finally... The First Farewell" Tour and this particular concert in Bercy started with an amazing "Drums, Drums & More Drums" track performed by Phil and his other drummer, the previously mentioned Mr. Thompson. Incidentally, this track ("In the Air Tonight") was the 17th in the tracklist sandwiched between Separate Lives and Dance Into the Light. Phil had the energy he had in this song all the way through to the end of the concert (as did his musicians). Now that he can no longer drum, his son NIcholas plays drums almost as well as the old man did--literally--Phil is inhis 70's now. His son was on the Domino tour with Genesis recently. Oh and of course, his daughter Lily is rapidly becoming a famous actress in her own right. So, he's still doing alright I suppose (tongue in cheek).

Virtually impossible not to know this song. Been used in so many TV shows, movies and adverts that even if you haven't heard it all you are likely to have heard parts of it. This was my teen years when this first came out. Great song.
This was a one of a kind masterpiece, no doubt about it. also check out his Another day in Paradise clip. Then from Elvis, If I can dream (reaction to MLK en JFK), also his live "In the ghetto" same tone.. then also live "Suspicious minds", a bit more playful, but a must react. the BEST live performance - the most ICONIC drum drop in rock - the most watched video on MTV - his singing the word "life"25+ times with a breath while banging on the drums is REAL control!!!!!!! The crowd clapping hands & not missing a single beat!!!! - - DROP THE MIC!!!! This is actually the LAST song of the concert!!!!!
Genesis drummer turned front man after Peter Gabriel left (and you’ll have to react to some of his amazing songs too). Genesis we’re a prog rock band for years but when the 80s came along they changed their sound quite a lot while remaining true to their beginnings (in my humble opinion). Songs like Abacab, Another Record, Turn It On Again, Mama, Silver Rainbow or Invisible Touch stack up nicely alongside their earlier work like Cinema Show, Musical Box and Suppers Ready. Yea, this was essentially the midpoint. After this song, he kicks the energy up even more. Seen him 5 times and it is just insane. "Last" song is usually Sussudio (false ending) and his concerts end with Take Me Home.
