I am so sorry for your loss. Let me ask you one question. (And I only ask because I have found that after 19 years since her passing, this gives me peace) Were you able to say all the things you wanted/needed to say before she passed? I hope you were!!! 2 weeks before I lost my mom, I got to bear my soul to her, and I’m so glad I had that opportunity. I wish you the same. @@MavenKHuffman My mom always told me to tell the people you love that you love them every chance you get because you never know if it will be the last time you see or talk to them. I took this to heart. Every time I see a loved one or talk to them on the phone, my last words to them are 'I love you'. She knew all of my feelings and thoughts, and me the same of her. I feel like Maven is in the best position ever to make these kind of videos. Someone who came into WWE at the end of the Attitude Era, beginning of Ruthless Aggression , as a competition winner, but still (humbly) a mid-carder. Regardless, he had his spots, and got to work with some of and if not the best wrestlers we all know and love today. He’s seen all the intricacies, and has dealt with his own. I respect his opinion so much on this business, and of course everything has to be taken with a grain of salt. Regardless, this has been the best nostalgia trip, and I can’t wait for more content 👍🏼
Hearing you talk about your time in WWE reminds me of when an NFL coach said ""We treat everybody fairly but not everybody the same." I like hearing how new talent is treated vs someone who is more established.
Maven you’re a blessing to us WWE fans who grew up in the early 2000s watching every week, I remember having your action figure when I played with my toy wrestling ring sets back in the day, your name always stuck with me, it’s amazing all the things that we didn’t see backstage that you go into detail about! Thank you keep living life
Bro I had his action figure too I would always do Royal Rumbles and do his infamous Drop kick on Undertaker action figure 😅 but man he’s a great story teller I suck at taking no wonder I’m broke
As a longtime wrestling fan, your channel is great because we get to know more about the business from your perspective working there and you're a great speaker which is even better. Thank you!
hate fact internet community has seized the word wholesome. You just know nothing wholesome about people who think reality is staring at phone and looking at instagram youtube and facebook.
Watching Maven’s videos are always a bright spot in my day. Love hearing these stories and cool life experiences. Pretty awesome to hear about Maven making that family’s day and giving that kid something to smile about. ❤
This channel has been really exciting to watch/ listen to, hearing him be honest about the business and telling personal stories without hearing the bullshit favoritism that everyone always says. Hes very respectful of everyone and doesnt act like he has a big ego. Very down to earth. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK...
I wanted to ask a question Maven. If you could have a dream match in any year with any wrestler who would it be? Thank you so much for the great videos! I enjoy them so much!
Apparently, I'm not the only one with this sentiment, but please keep these videos coming! Its really nice to hear a former wrestler who isnt jaded and talks of all the good times had on the road and the like! A1 content!
Maven, give us some more Tough Enough memories- you’re in such a unique position being one of the first winners. Give us memories and reflection on each cast member from season one. Did you develop a bond or friendship with Nidia upon winning the competition? Did you bond with any winners past season one? What’d the guys do during downtime? Did any of the guys & girls try getting it on? Was that kiss that Taylor gave you real or scripted? Who do you think personally should have won the female competition? Just some ideas
Maven no dig at you. I grew up watching next gen into attitude into evolution and some of the invasion. I wasn’t expecting your channel to be all that interesting. Egg all over my face. You have one of the best channels hands down. It is so insightful and not bitter etc. Honestly top 3. Great work.
By far my favourite channel. I'm so sorry to hear about your mom, Maven. Some people never recover from that loss, but you're an inspiration on how to persevere. Your honesty and humbleness means a lot to many, including myself. Thank you
@@MavenKHuffman It's my pleasure. I trained in the States for three months this year, and leaving my mom was really difficult to do at the time. Now that I'm in the ring, I understand the position of taking time to be with your mother as much as possible. Plus, my mother's in her 60s now and had cancer the whole time I was gone, but I had no idea this was occurring when I was in another country. I found out the day I came back to Canada. However, she's in remission, but that showed me how granted some things can be taken for, despite her being my rock and being as tight as we are
This channel is amazing. I was watching wrestling so much at the time you came into the business, big part of my childhood. Thank you for your time Maven.
I see so much support for Maven and this channel, and rightfully so. He's such a humble and down to earth guy, it's impossible to not get drawn in. Keep up the cool content!
When you fought Shelton Benjamin in Puerto Rico, that's the most heat I've ever seen anyone get maybe ever. Seriously up there with HBK in Montreal. Super impressive moment and maybe the highlight of your career for me
@@MavenKHuffman omg maven responded to me!! Edit: honestly if wwe were smart, theyd have you involved in more at that time. Nobody gets heat like that and then just put on a backburner. Maven comes in, hits a lowblow in a tag team match, wins the belts and retains relevancy with Simon Dean for a few months
to confirm what mavin said about evolution, yes it was debated between Dave Batista and Mark Ginger but Paul seen Mark as too much of a goofy and him and Randy being besty's made it worse.. so then Paul((Hunter))decided to go with Batista since he felt he would give the group the credibility it needed to serve creatives((Paul Levesque))goals.... theirs a short doc out here about Paul its about 9mins long and it explains alot of his careen in that short time.. i'd suggest ppl looking that up its pretty informative and after watching it things about his career makes so much sense to me now
Crazy how you mentioned that actually being a professional wrestler ruined being a fan. I used to be such a huge fan of wrestling. I thought one day that I wanted to try it out and train to become one. Granted, I haven’t trained in years and apart from some shows I’ve been in where I was masked, actually being in that environment, I could never watch wrestling in the same light from when I was a fan.
The wrestler Maven to me was someone young and learning, someone who would never quit and keep going no matter how hard it got. He was someone to look up to and emulate.
I now watch all things Maven Huffman available here on UA-cam: the great videos on this channel, the interviews, your wrestling matches at WWE infact i have been waiting for this week's video to drop since yesterday I just love the way you tell the stories we are blessed to have you here Maven ❤
Hey Maven! Great video as always. Watched you when you were debuting. I was a little kid back then (around 5-6 yrs old), and now I’m a doctor trying to specialize in Neurology & Sports Medicine. Your videos have been a breath of fresh air. I enjoy listening to/watching them during my breaks. I really wish you can start your own podcast talking about the crazy stories throughout your wrestling career. Your voice is great to listen to! Hopefully WWE brings you back in any capacity whether a PLE Panel guest or as a color commentator. You’d always be a great addition to any wrestling promotion. Keep rocking! 🙏🏼✌🏼
The reason I think maven is kinda popping off on UA-cam is that he's genuine. He's just any average joe (albeit one that had a cool job from 2001 to 2005😂). I may not agree with everything he says, that's just a part of being human, but i respect that he's real. Maven, if you see this, hope you're doing well! Hopefully one day we could get you and randy for a video. Would be cool to see you two reconnect and talk about things.
i hear from '2001 to 2005 i had the cookest job..being wwe wrestler' just randomly pop in my head sometimes on a weekly basis like its the start of sitcom or flim , like goodfellas quote ' One day, some neighborhood kids carried my mother's groceries all the way home. You know why? It was out of respect.
This is one of the coolest channels ive seen in a long long time!! Maven is such a cool, down to earth dude! i love listening to his old wrestling stories!
I work very often as a local rigger on WWE shows. Absolutely love my job and get a lot of catering around the country working all sorts of shows. No one has better catering than the WWE. From the talent to us, the staff, all were full and satisfied walking out of catering.
I got to work backstage unloading and reloading the trucks as a one day temp gig back in 2006 (it was the show where Three 6 Mafia performed Mark Henry's entrance live). I don't know if I was supposed to eat at catering with everybody, but nobody stopped me from doing it. Can confirm, fantastic spread and all-you-can-eat. I actually got to eat at a table with Booker T and listen to him do commentary on his match with Bobby Lashley from Judgement Day a few days prior as the PPV was running on a TV in catering
Great video as always Maven. I have a couple of questions myself. What made you go into teaching? Also, during your wrestling career, did you ever regret being a wrestler and wish that you stayed being a teacher?
This channel is 1 of 1 in the pro wrestling community. Had a maven figure as a kid as well as Royal Rumble 2002 on DVD. Full circle to be here for every upload over 20 years later. Love ya Maven!

Out of all the retired wrestlers, your channel is the best. Informative and honest. I like the approach. Thanks for the content brother. Hope all is well 🙏
Ahoi Maven your mom was the best. Always cheering you on to keep living your dream. Must have been so hard to not be there for her more. But she was a warrior. Love your content hope you are doing well. You deserve it legend.
Would love to see you and the coach in a video together. I could listen to that for hours. Coach was recently on van vleet and his interview was awesome. Yall should definitely create some content together
I love that he never buries anyone or talks down upon any of his experiences. Even if he has them, he is humble enough not to speak on it. What a blessed and awesome man. He attacks the problem and never the person. Class act.
Did you ever experience wrestler's court? What are your thoughts on wrestlers unionising and the way they have historically worked things out themselves
Maven, I still remember watching you on Raw and Heat as a kid and you were pretty cool. I was around age 13. But now seeing your channel, it’s just amazing to see your personality. Such a genuine and cool dude. So glad you are showcasing that. We all appreciate your insight as wrestling fans.
Mave, I really liked your appearance on Booker T and Brad Gilmore's Hall of Fame podcast this past Thursday. Thumbs up if you watched and enjoyed Maven's interview on Hall of Fame.
My favorite channel this year. You gave me a great insight on how the WWE really is. It might be a hot take but I always wanted to see them put the IC belt or US belt on you.
Ive watched enough videos from Maven that i get the impression he isnt bitter about what could have been (and in my opinion would have been) and takes the good and leaving the rest behind. Such a relatable dude. Make a comeback! Haha
Maven Sir. I have many questions but honestly Thank you for sharing your thoughts, experiences and honest interviews with us. I know all of this takes time and energy. Much appreciated! I am sorry about you losing your mom! May God Bless You for being so humble!
Man, I feel you (on a much smaller level) Mave. When you were talking about not being able to watch wrestling the same way, I totally get that man. It’s much harder to view wrestling as a fan in this modern day of technology. Everyone’s always talking about botches and ratings and booking. It’s honestly sad. I miss being a kid and just being able to watch the show with awe. But now I find myself almost being hyper critical of the performance, as if I could do any better!
@@MavenKHuffman exactly. Honestly, I know I may sound like an old man here, but social media in itself really killed the spectacle of wrestling. Like there’s not even surprise returns anymore. Obviously that’s not always the case, but it is more often than not. Wrestling has just changed since I was a kid, and it really sucks.
Your honesty and self-awarenwss is absolute gold. "If you know what the Maven character is, I'm all ears". I haven't really been into wrestling since I was young right around Cena, but this channel has brought me back. Awesome job and great content sincerely.
Only knew you by name before you started this channel. Your name comes up here and there on podcastsm in a positive light. Sadly I had stopped watching WWE by the time you got there so I missed your run, I have to say you are one of the most interesting fellow to watch/listen. You are soft spoken and really down to earth, this allows for a different point of view on wrestling as a medium. Love the channel, brother!
I wanted to add to the answer about catering, I was a local stage hand in Austin at the Frank Erwin Center from about 2013-2017 mostly for set/strike tasks, and I did a number of calls for WWE. These would all be RAW broadcasts. The local stage hand crews were always invited to go through the catering line for our meals, and yes, it was excellent. We went at different times than the talent, but sometimes met talent anyway, because those guys could obviously hit the line whenever they liked. WWE was always a great show to work, and we all looked forward to it. It was always an intense day, but always fun.
I stopped watching wrestling after the attitude era but I like to keep tabs on it through UA-cam. Honestly, I didn’t know who you were before this channel but Im really glad I came across it and really do hope you get a commentary position with the wwe or something. Dude, you have great charisma and when you speak, it makes me want to listen… Much love to you, keep doing what you’re doing!
So after watching hundred of interviews and documentaries, here's what I've picked up on regarding Vince and decision making around character ideas, costumes, etc. A) Vince did always have the final say, however, B) He was rather fair in discussions, it was just that if you had a problem, you better have a solution and some good ideas of your own. Just not wanting to do something isn't going to cut it.
What do you think about the Women‘s Evolution ? And what did the guys in the locker room think about women wrestling ? Was the general attitude like:“Girls can‘t do the serious stuff anyway” or would they have liked to see women doing the same things as they did ?
Admittedly, I was not a big fan back in the day. Didn’t dislike you, but didn’t really gel either. But I have to say, I love your videos. Your breakdowns are thoughtful and insightful. Great job. Consider me a new fan.

Thank you for this Maven. I lost my mom 6 months ago. My biggest regret is that I could not be at her side when she passed (I had dialysis). Like you, there is not a day that goes by that I don't think about her and miss her. My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with you my brotha.
Sorry for your loss, brother. 😢 Stay strong and keep your head up man.
I’m going to do a video about BOTH my moms for Mother’s Day, and I can’t wait. Take care my friend
@@MavenKHuffmanI never got that opportunity unfortunately when I lost my mom last year and it's always going to haunt me that's a heavy burden to carry 😢
@MavenKHuffman you're a class act man. Love these videos
In that sense I have zero regrets. I did the same with my father, aunt, uncle and grandmother before each of them passed. I'm glad you had the chance to bear your soul to your mom. I'm sure that she's smiling down on you proudly. My best wishes to you brother.
Lol… that was jimmy Johnson I believe. “I treat everyone the same…. Differently “ or something like that
Maven you’re a blessing to us WWE fans who grew up in the early 2000s watching every week, I remember having your action figure when I played with my toy wrestling ring sets back in the day, your name always stuck with me, it’s amazing all the things that we didn’t see backstage that you go into detail about! Thank you keep living life
Bro I had his action figure too I would always do Royal Rumbles and do his infamous Drop kick on Undertaker action figure 😅 but man he’s a great story teller I suck at taking no wonder I’m broke
This feels so good hearing a mature look onto the business and not speculations or vague things being said. Thank you so much for being you Maven.
A mother’s unconditional love is an indescribable feeling.
RIP to your mother Maven ❤️
As a longtime wrestling fan, your channel is great because we get to know more about the business from your perspective working there and you're a great speaker which is even better. Thank you!
Maven dropping wholesome wrestling content that isnt necessarily just "shoots" is a breath of fresh air I wasn't expecting.
Doesn't mean they're not shoots just because it isn't a negative rant.
If he telling you the truth about wrestling it's a shoot
hate fact internet community has seized the word wholesome.

I never knew Maven had a great voice. He really is suitable as a commentator or announcer.
crazy how fast this channel has grown....been here since the early days love the content specially ask me anything
Thank you for being with us so long. Yeah, I really enjoy doing these AMA’s, we will definitely do more
@@MavenKHuffman thank you for the comment back much appreciated!
It would be the Rock
Thank you
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 thank you for that. She was and still is my Angel!
I never had a mother I could love but seeing the clips of you and your mom made me very close to tear up.
Same here 🙏
When you fought Shelton Benjamin in Puerto Rico, that's the most heat I've ever seen anyone get maybe ever. Seriously up there with HBK in Montreal. Super impressive moment and maybe the highlight of your career for me
Yeah…. That was the most HEAT I have seen as well. One of my favorites for sure
Omg seeing you and your mom in hospital breaks my heart. I lost my mom 2 years ago heartbreaking 💔
I’m so sorry for your loss! I pray you hold onto good memories like I do! 🙏🏽
It's great to see Maven have so much success on UA-cam, He deserves it
to confirm what mavin said about evolution, yes it was debated between Dave Batista and Mark Ginger but Paul seen Mark as too much of a goofy and him and Randy being besty's made it worse.. so then Paul((Hunter))decided to go with Batista since he felt he would give the group the credibility it needed to serve creatives((Paul Levesque))goals.... theirs a short doc out here about Paul its about 9mins long and it explains alot of his careen in that short time.. i'd suggest ppl looking that up its pretty informative and after watching it things about his career makes so much sense to me now

Maven!!! This channel is awesome since day 1. Keep doing your thing 💪🏽 wishing you the best
Mav, you’ve got charisma like no other. I can’t seem to get enough of your videos. The way you communicate is a winning formula my brother well done
YEP! I feel ya. It ruins the fan aspect of it for sure
Kind of like watching a magic show but you know how all secrets to how the tricks are done.
The wrestler Maven to me was someone young and learning, someone who would never quit and keep going no matter how hard it got. He was someone to look up to and emulate.
You're a legend mate. Keep these videos coming!
I now watch all things Maven Huffman available here on UA-cam: the great videos on this channel, the interviews, your wrestling matches at WWE infact i have been waiting for this week's video to drop since yesterday
I just love the way you tell the stories
we are blessed to have you here Maven ❤
This dude is real cool doing this for us fans.
Me and my brother were the fans that took him to the arena. Will always remember that!
No way
The reason I think maven is kinda popping off on UA-cam is that he's genuine. He's just any average joe (albeit one that had a cool job from 2001 to 2005😂). I may not agree with everything he says, that's just a part of being human, but i respect that he's real.
Maven, if you see this, hope you're doing well! Hopefully one day we could get you and randy for a video. Would be cool to see you two reconnect and talk about things.
i hear from '2001 to 2005 i had the cookest job..being wwe wrestler'
just randomly pop in my head sometimes on a weekly basis
like its the start of sitcom or flim , like goodfellas quote ' One day, some neighborhood kids carried my mother's groceries all the way home.
That sounds crazy 👌🏾
why lie?

Great questions, guys! Maven is so well-spoken and killed it with the answers. I'm so happy for him for the success of his channel.

I kind of respect the hell out of this dude. The youtube channel has been great.
Would love to see you and the coach in a video together. I could listen to that for hours. Coach was recently on van vleet and his interview was awesome. Yall should definitely create some content together
I agree…. I watched his CVV interview and was entertained the entire time. He is so good… who knows, maybe we will do a video together
Lol…. We actually have a wrestlers court video being edited as we speak. EXPECT IT SOON!

Ive watched enough videos from Maven that i get the impression he isnt bitter about what could have been (and in my opinion would have been) and takes the good and leaving the rest behind. Such a relatable dude. Make a comeback! Haha
“Yeah, go sell insurance.” That made my day. 😂

You need to do audio books. You have a great voice for story telling. Wrestling autobiographies would be awesome to listen to if read by maven.
Hahahaha… i would love to do voice over work. Never knew people liked my voice until these videos. I always thought I was to ‘Southern’.
I agree…. Everything is now so overanalyzed, it makes it impossible to just enjoy

Dude, you have great charisma and when you speak, it makes me want to listen…
Much love to you, keep doing what you’re doing!
So after watching hundred of interviews and documentaries, here's what I've picked up on regarding Vince and decision making around character ideas, costumes, etc.
A) Vince did always have the final say, however,
B) He was rather fair in discussions, it was just that if you had a problem, you better have a solution and some good ideas of your own. Just not wanting to do something isn't going to cut it.
And your idea better be something Vince wants to go over with the fans going forward.
