WrestleMania is WWE's biggest show, but what goes into a WrestleMania match? I'm a former WWE wrestler, and in this video, I reveal the secrets and behind-the-scenes details of how my WrestleMania match was put together.
Man Dustin just seems like the nicest guy from most stories ive heard. So good of you to put him over so hard in this video Mave!
Dustin gave my husband tickets to wrestlemania 14 when he was 8 years old and I can confirm he is a very nice person ❤
as long as you don't look up on the internet any lawsuits about him molesting a flight attendant, sure
edit: my reply is getting deleted, lol. yall just look up the full lawsuit its out there, dustin was just as bad as flair was
@@mikays7059 that's why I said most I am aware of the story that you're talking about. I didn't say he was a perfect person I've just never heard anyway have a bad thing to say about him as far as him being a professional and always willing to do business. He's no angel I'll give that you that but it's hard to find anyone from that era who doesn't have some kind of demons
Dustin took such amazing care of me. It’s my pleasure to put him over as much as I can. THANK YOU DUSTIN

Hi Maven, my dad died last July. We watched wrestling at the hospital and watched our last episode, him dying the day after. He was the epitome of a wrestling fan! He started watching wrestling ever since its inception. I started watching wrestling as a kid because of him. I only recently found your UA-cam channel and honestly, he would have loved it! I've found your wrestling stories to be heartfelt, genuine, honest, informative, and entertaining. Thank you to you and to all the wrestlers in both divisions for making my dad smile throughout his life and for giving him and I something extra special to share as father and son. 🙏
My condolences for you dad passing. I starting watching wrestling since l was 10, back in 1987. My family couldn't afford cable so use to read the wrestling magazines at gas station to catch up or wait for every first Sat of the month to watch WWE main event in NBC.
My condolences bro
i hope Maven sees this, best wished to your family brother ❤
Thank you 🙏
I appreciate it 🙏
Dustin sounds like an incredible teacher and person
He is!!! 💯
I would give my left nut to meet Dustin!!! A true legend and he definitely is underrated and deserves to be in the hall of fame!!!!
Dustin is an A hole.
He crapped all over fans when he was in wwe.
Listen to Lufisto to understand what an awful human being he is.
Such an awesome moment to share the ring with someone like Dustin. I am so happy to see his half-brother Cody kicking ass in this years Wrestlemania. I just got down with night 1 and I could be wrong, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Dustin interfere in Cody’s match tomorrow. I also expect The Rock is gonna somehow put Cody over big time. Tomorrow is gonna be fire. Btw, I just love watching your videos and all the behind the scenes stuff that goes into events like this.
The 24/7 Hardcore Defense was one of my favorite gimmicks as a kid. I'm sure it wasn't always easy to set up those spots but it always was fun to watch.
I loved those segments. I remember there was one where they were at an indoor playground and crash holly zipped towards someone on a swing and performed a frankensteiner. Another time they were near a large body of water at night and it ended with someone being thrown into the water
You can tell that maven loves making videos and his fans.. I couldn’t stop looking at the time on the microwave lol he spends over a hour to make sure he can make a quality video for us thank you maven💪🏻
Quality as it should be
I couldn't stop looking at that missing pixel when he used the other camera angle lmao
He's actually a real asshole to his fans, drop kicked me into the airport luggage turnstile first time I saw him 😢.
@@wingerdinggood thing he missed his drop kick on me
Flawless transition to the ad. Notice that every time.
was thinking the same thing 😄
Dude is a natural
Me too. I actually look forward to it.
@@Retroactive93 Such a natural he's halfway through the ad before you realize it's an ad.
Could teach Chris Jericho a thing or two. Now that reminds me, let me tell you about Omaha Steaks...
Dustin has been in the business forever. Hall Of Fame should be calling soon.
Not while he's in AEW
HHH isn't even in as a solo and he's done more than Golddust.
Hall of fame is like Valhalla for wrestling lol except wwe has undoubtedly destroyed some of the magic in it by adding random celebrities like snoop dog etc
Sure but goldust deserves it.
@@HPLovesCraftsCat The Bellas, Torrie W are in there too and shouldn't be. At least Snoop is in the celebrity wing.
Maven you're shining as always! I'm really glad that you have found yourself on UA-cam. Keep it up brotha!
Thank you!!!!🙏🏽
That fan sign @ 14:58 for Goldust is crazy 😭 Fan signs back then were brutal lol
Noticed that sign and immediately went to comments 😮
LMFAO yeah that sign definitely gets taken up by security nowadays
who drives the cars when it’s a segment of getting into a car
That shit is crazy lmao
LMFAO
Hey Guys! Maven here. In today's video, I make a surprise return at Wrestlemania 40.
😂😂 you gave the surprise away!!!!
@@MavenKHuffman Mavenites Unite 💪
@samuelcohen2362 I've been using the term "Mavenites" since seeing it in the comments on another video! Been thinking "who is the guy who coined the term? We need to get that going!" ❤
Maven is going to help Cody finish his story 😎
If maven returns taker returns to finish him 😂
It’s crazy because growing up during the attitude and ruthless aggression era I feel like I saw the best years in wwe history but I still click on a Maven video regardless of what the topic is as opposed to the superstars like Taker, Cold stone and all those guys where I’ll just watch like less than half of their videos. Something about hearing it from someone like Maven which I feel is the more common wwe wrestlers experience is refreshing.
Right? Right? And here I thought I'm the only one. Undertaker is on my mount Rushmore and I love Mark Callaway but I can't watch Six Feet Under for a long time for some reason.
That's so true. I never sit through any podcasts from the big guys. Mavens side of the story is so much more interesting. He's a good storyteller aswell
I listen to them all. Maven has made a thing of giving the perspective of an regular person getting to live the life of of a pto wretler. Thats what makes him interesting to us. Its like pulling the curtain back and explaining it all. But many of the legends have their stories from when they were brraking into the business. Theyre very good just not as relatable.
I went on cagematch to look this up, there was this much level of detail for a 3 minute and 16 second match... that's crazy.
3 minutes is actually a super long time for a wrestler, I'm training to be a pro wrestler and 3 minutes is a lifetime in the ring
@@CleetusDaFetus Oh I'm not denying that, I'm just saying it's crazy the level of detail and precision they had for a match that lasted the length of a Roman Reigns smackdown entrance.
@@coultergaske1999 oh i know what you meant lol i was just putting into perspective how long that really is because a lot of people dont realize
The roman reigns thing is crazy 💀💀
@@CleetusDaFetushow to start training? I really want to start but I’m so lost
@@lxstkid go into google maps, type in "Pro Wrestling School" study your options
Say what you want about his longevity in the WWE, the impact he’s having on the business now is AMAZING. Speaking from his own perspective and experience gives us context that WWE won’t always give us. A true treat to the fans 🙏🏼
Hey Maven! I haven’t watched wrestling in nearly a decade and a few months back one of your videos hit my recommended on UA-cam and now I’m counting down the minutes to wrestlemania 40! The work you put in on UA-cam is incredible, you got me excited for something I truly thought I was done caring about. Keep up the good work brother!
The craziest thing to me is that you kept refering to Goldust as a veteran... During WM 18
We're heading into WM 40 and that man is active out there
And he says he won't even think of retiring for 2-3 years
That very much makes him a veteran in the business
@@wingerdingpoint was he was a veteran 22 years ago, and he’s still wrestling, it’s just a compliment
Maven always kicking the weekend off right with a new video. Thank you for all the content brother!
I can't imagine the hype knowing that it's going to be your first Mania, You & Goldust had a pretty good match aswell.
Well….. good match other then me missing the trash can 🗑️
@@MavenKHuffmanyou were just too athletic
@@MavenKHuffmanShit happens.
…..I bet any kind of botch certainly didn’t effect the payout
@@MavenKHuffmanI think you missing the trash can is funny as fuck lol. I mean I guess it was pretty horrifying at the time but in hindsight, I think it is quite hilarious. You really got the fuck up there on that trash can lol.
Always been a fan of you, Maven! You have the best wrestling based YT channel out right now for sure, thank you for doing all this! Much love and respect!
The way you put Dustin over in this video shows how much of a professional you are, Mave. Good shit with the videos, always coming in clutch for my lunch break🤣🤣🤟
Dustin is an A hole.
He crapped all over fans when he was in wwe.
Listen to Lufisto to understand what an awful human being he is.
Fantastic content about your experience with Wrestlemania. Great setup for this weekend. Keep it up.
👍🏽🙏🏽
Man Maven, you're by far the most sympathetic and authentic wrestler doing youtube videos.
No holds barred, you dish out but also admit your own mistakes and take responsibility.
I will play Here Comes The Pain Career Mode with you now!
I love these insights into everything that goes on.
All the planning and timing and stuff that goes into executing it… Blows my mind just how detailed it can get.
Keep up the great work, Maven. Keep the videos coming, sir.
Keep the match breakdowns coming, this is awesome content. I kook forward to fridays every week now
Maven thank you so much for your contributions. Also thank you for your thoughtful insight and bringing us fans along for the ride. Awesome channel and awesome videos. Keep on keeping on and keep the awesome videos coming.
Man I hate ads, but you make it not as bad. Well done maven.
Mayven videos have reinvigorated my love for wwe once again. I’m actually excited to watch this weekends wrestle mania!!!! I haven’t watched wrestling since the Attitude era…
Thanks Maven!!! Your content has made you UA-cam’s breakout influencer!!!!
I lost count of how many times I scrolled thru UA-cam and ended up clicking on maven’s videos instead of what I actually came to UA-cam for 🤣 i actually really enjoy these videos
Same tbh
I think an interesting video could be on what it's like when wrestling overseas for the WWE
Bout time you had me waiting for another video I love your channelll brotha!!
Great video, really enjoy these videos where you explain the experience of preparing for a match. It really shows the professionalism in wrestling.
I’m taking your unmade suggestion and starting off Wrestlemania weekend with Wrestlemania 18, cant wait to see the whole match.
Great content man ..keep it up ..love watching all your videos
Love all these videos. Keep them coming
Maven, you have shared so many stories of your WWE run. But could you share some stories of your TNA run??
BTW, loving your work.
Love from india 🇮🇳
Was he in TNA?
🤔 actually a great idea! We will look into it
@@MavenKHuffman I guess you were in TNA, lol
I've been out of wrestling since WCW and then came across one of your shorts randomly. Now I've been diving into old videos and now going to watch wrestlemania, which I've not seen since I was a kid. It's so wild how a little clip brings up an old passion.
I absolutely love these videos, thank you Maven 🌹
Ive only found your channel 2 days ago and watched all of your videos. Fantastic content. From a wrestling fan in the UK 😊
You’re the man Maven. Great meeting you in the lobby last night at the hotel, and thank you for the advice for my pro wrestling training. 👊🏾💯
Maven is so humble and he is always grateful for all his moments in WWE...
Thank you Maven 🎉
Love you ❤
I follow you for a reason. I enjoy your honesty.
🙏🏽👍🏽
My favorite video so far. Thanks for provided a look into the industry that has given me so much joy in my 30 odd years.
Love watching Mavens videos. This guy is good at this! Keep those videos coming Maven!
ONce i see the notif of the new video I view right away. Love your efforts and videos Maven

Great Stuff Maven ! Keep the Videos Coming 👍
Maven...I was there. I loved it. Thank you for all you do and did with WWE
Loving the content bro 🤘🏾
X8 is my favorite Wrestlemania. I love rewatching it from start to finish. 2002 WWE was peak. 👌
A lot of people crap on it though. I love it.
Another banger as usual. Appreciate you Maven! 🙏
Maven’s content is what I expect most wrestlers to talk about. The ins and outs of the business and the details of matches. Love it !
Damn your ad transitions are so good
He sets the gold standard🎉
Maven is crushing it and I couldn't be happier about it 👊🏼
Just love the authenticity and the humility Maven talks into his experiences in his time in the ring, I think a lot of youngsters in the business can learn a lot from Maven! Thank you for sharing this memorable event! ❤
Honestly thx soo much for ur vidoes iv been waiting for someone like u explaining details about wwe like how much do superstars make and so on i hope u could return back to wwe oneday and find a great job there 😁😁
MAVEN is back baby!!
Only Maven fans like this ❤
You don’t tell me what to do
*Maven
That doesn’t work for me brother
Cringe
Did you say maven has a only fans or did I read it wrong?
Maven great video as always. Keep up the great work.
Couldn’t be more happy for this dude. I called his W way back during the first season of TE. Hope he gets that call from Hunter soon to call this new era of pro wrestling.
Even if he's happier away from WWE?
@@Speedyreedy1218 He recently said on the most recent CVV interview he is open for an analyst position at WWE. Hoping he gets it.
@@camschuster5947 Still doesn't change that he's happier not there. Being open to something if it comes is not the same as actively campaigning for it. The "fans" want him in WWE. He's very much "whatever" about it and more excited doing this.
As goofy as Dustin’s gold dust character was he’s almost as good as Regal when it comes to skill and professionalism
Yo Maven great to meet you in Philly. All the best brother and keep up the good work!
15:34 LOL that is exactly the question I had while watching this! Whether the cab actually took you back to the hotel or just out the door. Great stuff. Fun to hear what it’s like behind the scenes.
who else is CRAVIN' MAVEN?
Ayo what?
Is this the one where you had ONE MOVE and you screwed that up?
11:35
You’re such a professional, the way you carry yourself and the way you describe the people along your journey. I never watched you as a wrestler but you as a man I’m definitely a fan of

I'm glad that you're succeeding in YT world. Thank you for one more awesome video Maven !
That was awesome! Dustin deserves his flowers. His wrestling Academy looks sweet.
also, i love hearing how these shows go and what preparation really goes into them, most of us as fans just have no idea about time ques, planning a match, and those are just a couple things going into it, its crazy
"Steal his belt... AND HIS CAB!!"
Lmao. Love it. Hooked to Maven's videos. A Storyteller and a half!
U new videos make me appreciate u as a wrestler back in the day
I’m happy to have become a Mavenite! Love the content brother, keep it coming, God Bless you.

As a person who as a kid followed Maven from Tough Enough Throughout his entire WWE wrestling career, I'm glad to Say that I followed him when he was just beginning here on UA-cam. To be one of his first few 1000 subscribers to now see that he is Well over 300k Makes me proud. Keep doing what you're doing Maven!!! I can't wait to see where this amazing new journey leads you. God bless you sir🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I love your videos.... don't think ill ever see wrestling the same, although, we haven't watched wrestling in a few years but i love hearing about different wrestlers.... I think you're awesome Mavin, Thank you for sharing.
im super nostalgic for that era of wrestling so i really appreciate you sharing your stories!
I'm finding more and more that this is the only wrestling channel that I really look forward to watching.
Grew up on wrestling and just started getting back into it and it's so incredible hearing about all these stories behind the scenes.
Same, but I have a hard time watching today's WWE because I don't know anyone and I don't know the storylines lol
Maven videos always hit hard!
Everything I have ever heard about the Rhodes family impresses me. I grew up watching Dusty, I remember the infamous Hollywood Backlot Brawl between Dustin and Piper, and seeing Dusty's son Cody just have his Wrestlemania moment winning the top championship was just so poetic and satisfying
It's quite fascinating thinking about the logistical side of WWE and just how they go about planning the never ending travelling circus. Whoever's job it is to make sure which venues are booked & when, the hotels, the travel, the merchandise, catering etc. The WWE when you really think about it has pretty much perfected what they do. Even when events happen that are unavoidable and throw a spanner in the works, they somehow still manage to keep the machine rolling as smoothly as possible. It's amazing. Kudos to the ones behind the curtin who make it all possible.
You gotta give Maven the credit for this content your doing amazing job brother
Your stories are the best. Great video!
Maven, Would love to see you do a video on your time working with the Brooklyn Nets. Thank you and have a great Wrestlemania weekend!
Love the behind the scenes talk that Maven gives.
Love ya mave happy too see u doing well this is our week right let's go baby it's mania time so excited for this weekend
You know it'll be a good weekend when you start it off with a new Maven video
I love the way you explain Maven. You are an awesome narrator!
Man ur a genius for starting youtube and making content like this , literally single handedly resurrected ur career
I remember tough enough and i remember u winning. Im 33, kinda stopped watching wwe not too long after the attitude era ended. I recently got reacquainted with and started watching wwe again and i love your content bro. You're a genuine person as far as i can tell and a truly talented athlete as well as showman, as seen by the success your channel has seen. Many blessings to you and thank you for the content.
Your a great story teller bro, love your videos
It's Friday, So you know what that means! Love the videos Keep it up man.
i really enjoy how maven tells every story
"Sky(dome)is the limit,Space is the place"for you,Mave!Huge fan of your channel.
Another banger 💪🏾 excited for WM this upcoming weekend!
Can’t claim I was a Maven fan as a kid, but I definitely remember you. And if you returned to WWE tomorrow I’d be the biggest Maven fan ever because of this channel lol. ☮️❤️
It ain’t a Friday anymore without a new Maven video!
And another lesson is done. Thanks Prof. Can't wait for the next one!
I love the honesty here. Thanks Maven and can’t wait for WM40! Wrestling is finally entertaining again
This is awesome, Maven. As a fan of over 30 years, I always wondered why Wrestlemania matches "hit differently." Spots you don't normally see, lots of kicking out of finishers, etc. It was absolutely incredible to be in attendance for Night 2 on Sunday.
Maven, this was an excellent topic. Thank you so much! 😀 If I may suggest, it would be great if you could cover how wwe superstars interact before a match. For instance, how far in advance do they practice, do they meet before their entrance, etc.
Maven you continue to absolutely nail the content
I love watching your videos and hearing you share your experiences about the business with us. You’ve always been so well spoken and intellectual and I’ve always admired that about you. Extremely happy for you. It’s exciting for to see the growth and expansion of your platform. You deserve it brotha 🫡
