      As a EFinance/Tax guy this is exactly the detail I want to see. You broke it down instead of "working" it & glossing over the fundamentals like others do. Keep doing that & you'll have the audience you want.

      The video came out to a great pop and got insanely over in such a quick time. You should be commended for its booking 😁
      I wanted to hear more about the breakdown for motels, flights, rental cars and gym passes. (People gloss over this)
      You said you would make $4000 a month. But if you stayed at a motel every single day for $80, that's $2400 right there. And we're just getting started!

    Went to my first WWE event when I was 5 and after the show I was so nervous to ask Maven for a picture, he walked up to me and took my camera and said "don't forget to smile kid". That's an incredible story. I'm not sure if you know or not but Maven's biological aunt raised him after his parents passed in a car accident. Sadly, his own aunt, who he knew as more of a mother figure, passed from cancer in 2004. It sounds like you and Maven both had some pretty special aunts who are sorely missed.

    Can't say he was a favorite of mine, never turned on the TV and said "yes, it's Maven time!", but I always had a soft spot for him after that first Tough Enough and appreciated when he had a good match or was used in a fun way. It's a very tough business that has eaten up a lot of greats, and it's always nice to see a wrestler make his way through unscathed. Not 100% certain how it works in WWE, but when it comes to the royalties; streaming services in general have taken a huge chunk out on screen talent pay checks. That's one reason SAG went on strike because the new media deals expired and they wanted the type of royalties they get from TV deals. WWE might have followed the new media guidelines with lower flat rate payouts and then cut a lot of the money on DVD production.
    Again, WWE might do things differently. I do hope a new media deal gets made and starts giving the older royalties.
    Great content!

    • @bojackkatarn
      @bojackkatarn Рік тому +9

      They can't give the older royalties because streaming as a whole is not profitable. Even Disney loses more than $600m per quarter. What's funny about the whole streaming model is, the endgame is likely a return to ad-driven services, i.e. cable, as ads are a better source of monetization than subscription fees from direct users (who tend to churn out really easily).

    • @RyleyTech

    • @Mikgwerd
      @Mikgwerd Рік тому

      To clarify SAG's position further, it was not about just getting paid the royalties like before, they first wanted to see the studios' numbers and statistics on streaming (as they aren't independently verifiable like TV ratings, home video sales, and box office number) but so far the studios have refused to divulge that information to prove their claims of streaming poverty and instead told the union "just trust me bro".

    • @metpach
      @metpach Рік тому +1

      @@MikgwerdDo you know why the studio's don't want to share their numbers? Because they don't want to reveal how bad their numbers actually are. The streaming market has gotten really saturated, most people just pay for a service for a couple months and jump to a different service. The crazy thing is, the strike is actually going to devalue the writers even more. Because that'll prove that nobody watches the content they've created, and there's no money to be made off of it.

    Maven I have to say I'm not even really a wrestling fan, I was as a child, watching The ultimate warrior and all the greats in the eighties and early nineties. I have to say I absolutely love your honesty and your humility. I was absolutely floored when I heard your honest assessment of your abilities and standing in the WWE. No one on social media would ever be so humble to be honest of themselves. It's not something you see a lot this day in age, and it warms my heart knowing theres still positive male role models out there for young men to look up to. I mean for real bro, people are savage narcissists this day and age. So I congratulate you sir and give you the utmost respect, please keep it up.

    I am glad that you have this UA-cam channel going for you. The gift of talking and telling a story has a much longer runway. :) Thanks for sharing all the info candidly. 👍

    I really like how personable and in touch he is. Really cool to see someone like him acknowledge a lot of real expenses people go through

    Very educational to say the least. I understand why Superstars were pissed when WWE tried to take control of their Twitch accounts. I've always wondered how WWE can hide behind the "Independent Contractor" moniker, yet in every capacity Superstars are treated like employees.
