In the philippines we add condensed milk & sweet corn kernels to that same base recipe & call it “Maja Blanca” 😁
That sounds delicious!
It’s called Bianco Mangiare in Italian and Blanc Manger in French (literally White Eating) and it’s traditionally made with Almond milk instead! Although coconut milk is also common nowadays. I personally make it with half and half 😋
So cool this delicious summer recipe traveled the whole world going through such different cultures!
I made it once and basically hogged it to myself. Maja Blanca is the one dish at relatives parties where I try to take home the most. I'm not really into Filipino food since I was born here. I usually only eat pancit and lumpia. There's only a few dishes that I eat but are only my mom's recipes.
I found your channel a few days ago and I am totally hooked. You guys are so positive, kind and eager to share with us so much about the culture of Japan and Hawaii! It's like I am amongst friends... Much love all the way from Brazil!
Going to my kitchen right now and making some coconut pudding. Thank you for your recipe videos! Keep going with these
Thanks for remaking this video! I am so excited to try this new version this weekend.
WOW!!! The perfect recipe including a musical performance... could anyone ask for more? You guys rock!!
Thank you and all the best!!
This is almost exactly how my mom used to make a traditional Puerto Rican desert known as "tembleque". Except, she would add a touch of vanilla extract along with the sugar and corn starch.
Perhaps you know that many Puerto Ricans were taken to Hawaii by the Americans to work in their fields, back when the USA took over the island. There are other places in Hawaii that have continued with our culinary traditions and that make other Puerto Rican dishes like pasteles. This is one of our legacies to Hawaii.
We call it tembleque in Puerto Rico, also is delicious if you put some cinnamon powder on top after is cold
I love learning new things, thank you!
Amelia Rodriguez definitely going to try that. In my culture we use pound cake with this pudding. Very good with the cake.
I can't wait to try this! I love coconut!
That looks so easy. I love coconut, so I have to try this!
Love love love all things coconut, as do my daughters. Looks so easy we will be making this tonight. Thank you for the share, Shinichi and Satoshi.
Thanks for the recipe guys! Something to try this weekend.
Yummy recipe. You can take it to another level by deep frying cubes of haupia that have been coated with either katakuriko or fine panko crumbs and serving it with shrimp curry. I think the combo works better when the curry flavor is not overpowering.
That sounds fantastic!
Ooh this sounds amazing!
WHOA, where did you think this up!?
Wow I've never heard of that but that sounds awesome!
This sounds so delicious. Now I need to get the ingredients for this recipe! Keep up the great job!
I am going to make this for my family this weekend!
This looks perfect for cooking with my daughter. Thanks guys.
Love the matching Hawaiian shirts, Shinichi playing air guitar, and Satoshi dancing and singing! Love this fun video & a user-friendly dessert recipe that even I can try to make! :D

Yes! KARA is the best brand of canned coconut milk although my mom always insists on fresh coconut milk. Love your shirts & thanks for sharing this recipe 💕
Reminds me a lot of malabi! Its a middle eastern dessert, made with either milk, cream or coconut milk and cornflour with rose flavored syrup
wow i never heard of this dessert before! awesome
Haupia is actually similar to the Filipino dessert called Maja Blanca. Same exact ingredients. You can also add creamed sweet corn. We call it Maja Mais if it’s with the corn. Yummy!! 😊

We make these in the Philippines, too. We usually add sweetened/condensed milk, shredded coconut meat, and some corn kernels. We call them "maja blanca". 😊
thanks for the recipe, the pudding cake is so delicious ... wanna try to make it too ah...
In Colombia we make a similar dessert with regular milk called natilla, looks exactly the same. Just came back from maui and had haupia for the first time, loved it
I would love to try this with sweet corn
I need this..NOW! 🤤
I might add some shredded or chopped coconut for some texture as well
That is a good recipe me and my wife will be trying this good video
The best part is I always have those ingredients in my pantry! I'm more likely to have coconut milk than regular milk.

Probably taken to Hawaii when many Puertoricans were taken to Hawaii by Americans when they took over Puerto Rico. We make the same and then sprinkle it with cinnamon. Easy to make, easy to eat.
Nice reminds me of the Filipino dessert Maja Blanca
love your haupia dance......btw i want to add coconut rum to it!!
I miss haupia
ALOHA TABI EATS...Thank you for your musical interlude 😁
Haven't had Haupia in a long time. Thanks for the recipe, will definitely make it!
First, your shirts are really nice -- both colors are gorgeous, you don't see it anywhere !!! Glad this recipe is easier and I will try it!
You look so tropical, and I adore your cute matching shirts! I've never tried haupia, but I want to try it after watching this video. I like that it's vegan too. I’m sure this would be a great dessert to serve to my parents. Thanks for the recipe and have a wonderful day! P.S. I see that the boy band had a reunion. 🕺🏻🕺🏻✨
I think you would like this one Yoshiko. Give it a try!!!

@@TabiEats
Sure did!! But I had to stop myself after the third piece otherwise I'd have devoured all the Haupia right there and then.
Even tried to dance around the Haupia with a pretend rock guitar.... LOL!!
Take care guys and all the best!!
I used to make this as a kid. It's really yummy with fresh corn kernels mixed in :-) The "flower" Satoshi is talking about are all the lines made by the whisk :D
Just wanted to say that after watching your video , i was inspired to make this. And so I did and can’t wait to try them out. 🙏🏼 it turns out like the way yours did. Oh, I added coconut flavor extract
Thanks for trying it out!
