I made this for the first time for my workplace's potluck and everyone thought it was store bought. I'm planning on waking it again for my mother's birthday with weekend! Thanks for such a great recipe!

I’m in mainland now but whenever Hawaiian theme party is there, I made butter mochi! It’s always a hit! I also make them in small silicon cake mold. It makes them crispy all around and many people seems to like it that way better...

Thank you Shinichi and Satoshi for posting these Hawaiian food tutorials. I am a Hawaii local who recently moved to Japan and I am so excited to try your recipes out when I'm feeling homesick. It's comforting to know that I can still make my favorites from home with ingredients found in Japanese supermarkets. Butter mochi is my favorite dessert, so I'm so stoked to try this one. Thanks again!

Hey guys! If you've never tried butter mochi before, you're in for a treat. It's gooey like mochi but also has the flavors of coconut and butter. You can already imagine how good it's going to be. If you make this, don't forget to take a photo and share it on social media and tag us with #tabieats.
Aloha and have a great day friends!!!!

I’m in love with this stuff. I keep remaking it over and over again. I decided to tweak with the recipe a little and these 2 changes made a BIG difference!!! I simply switched butter to browned butter and instead of coconut milk, I added silk oat milk(extra creamy) 😋🤤

The butter mochi looks amazing! I really want to try it. I always wondered what it was like, and if it was still chewy like mochi. Clearly, it is! I love mochi so much, and one of my friends does, too. I think we need to get together and bake a batch. As for the next recipe, I vote for mentaiko spaghetti. I think that sounds really delicious, but I have not had it before. Have a great weekend!
