Hi: In any recipe that calls for half or one cup of honey, lightly coat the measuring cup with olive oil or your oil of choice then measure the honey. When you pour out the honey, every last drop of it will pour out with no sticky mess. I've done this with tablespoons and teaspoons, too. Works like a charm and clean up is easy peasy.
Ohh I love this comment! I have done that before when baking: I'll first measure the coconut oil and then the maple syrup or any other liquid! It works great!
I'd prefer weight measurements and forgo the need for a measuring cup completely!
This is awesome! I can make my own marshmallows now. I can’t seem to find any in stores including Trader Joe’s nor Whole Foods without carrageenan. Since I had colon cancer I try to stay away from it. So thanks so much for the recipe!!!
I absolutely loved the store-bought marshmallow but cringed when I found out the ingredients.
SOOOO I am extremely happy that you have shared this recipe. Can't wait to try it!! Thanks!!! Yay!!!
Yes! Many don't know that store-bought marshmallows can contain gluten as well. So much better to make at home. Hope you enjoy it! :)
I love that you just chose marshmallows to make from scratch!
Marshmallows from scratch are the best...and worth the effort! ;) x
am I the only one who is in love with your channel, your kitchen and the way you do things? #goals
Aww, thanks so much Yamilka! I really appreciate that! :) x
I like her ideas. I just can't change my diet and cook like that.... lol
Yamilka Estrella me too!! ❤️
We made these yesterday and they are so good! I have a 1 year old n 4 year old.. super simple for the boys make! Messy but fun!
fluffy marshmallows are my weakness--I am so excited to try the and I'm practically drooling just watching you make them!
Haha - so glad you liked the video! And yes, fluffy marshmallows are the best. :)
Great recipe! Marshmallows are so yummy. They used to be a remedy for sore throats and coughs when they had actual marshmallow root in them. On our channel you can find a video with more marshmallow trivia, as well as other trivia videos on a variety of topics.
Lisa, very brave of you to wear a black top making this recipe! Looks SO delicious! Thanks.
How do you store marshmallows and how long? thanks.
I am absolutely loving your marshmallow recipe, can I use a blender or food processor instead of a mixer?
Hi Lisa my 6 year old son loves watching your videos. He even knows how to search for downshiftology on youtube.
Hi there lovely recipe but is there a substitute for gelatin like agar agar or ?
Hi, Im a bit confuse about the measuring unit, can you put the measuring unit into "grams" instead of "cups", please :)
I am so obsessed with your channel and blog! Please keep the awesome content coming😍
Thanks so much Brittany! :) x
If you absolutely can't have any sugar at all, can you substitute the powdered sugar with rice milk powder? I think I will try that instead. My Mom absolutely loves marshmallows, but she can't have any sugar at all. She uses honey moderately, and these marshmallows would be heavenly for her!
Just great! Speedy recipe really who will not raid the cooling, perfectly tempting Mallows!! Next comes the rice crispy treats!
(The kids will be pumping cereal into your just blended concoction and watching Scooby Doo with innocent faces when asked how did half pan disappear !)
Hi downshiftology, I am your fan and love that your content of your styles..
where do we let it set fridge or room temperature
Hi! Love your channel! Do you think you can try a gelatin free recipe?
Great suggestion! I will keep that in mind.
Hi, I love it. Can I not add powder sugar to the arrowroot thank you
Yes, you can absolutely. :)
This looks sooo ez and delicious! Never know how ez it was!!!! Now to find that power on line and other uses in recipes
And they taste so much fresher than store bought. So yum!
How do you store these please?
Great vid, never have liked store bought marshmallows cause of the Ikee ingredients to them.
Definitely going to try this
I tried to make this beautiful recipe, but I only have a 5 speed mixer, it sort off came out like this, not as thick and mine never made stiff peaks even after 5 minutes at the 5th speed. Still delicious, though.
Where can i find the actual recipe ingredients list and amount for each?
thanks for the tip i am gonna make this then rice crispe treats
Can I use date syrup and vanilla bean powder
Can agar or some other gelling agent be used instead of gelatin?
I really want to make some for an upcoming camping trip, but I was also curious, what else can you use the gelatin for?
You can make jello and panna cotta. I've got some delicious panna cotta recipes on my website. :)
These look delicious! What did you do with the marshmallow that was left in the bowl? :P
After the video I scooped it into a little bowl. It wasn't pretty, but it sure tasted good! Haha. ;) x
Love your channel x Is there anyway of making this suitable from veggies? Thank you xx
You can use agar agar instead of gelatin, but I haven't tried that method.
@@Downshiftology Ok thank you x
Do you have any recipes or advice for breaking down recipes to be made for one person? Xx
Have you found a vegan gelatin substitute that has a similar texture?
By the way is gelatin is safe to use and wat it is mam

Definitely give them a try Luka - they're delicious! And so happy you're loving the smoothie bowls. :) x
Is there any way we could omit the powdered sugar?
Could I use cornstarch instead of powdered sugar?
Instead of water can you use juice?
Is powdered sugar neccesary?
I need those measuring spoons. They seem not to rust and be sturdy! I browsed through the videos but never saw a link for them.
Watch my kitchen gadgets video. ;)
Downshiftology watched it three times. It is not on the description but on your blog! Thank you! 👍already added to my cart!
Thank you so much for this video
Can I use a hand mixer?
woooooow I never thought that I can make mashmallo by myself, and it looks so easy! That's crazy! Thanks so much for the recire! I will definitely make it : )
Hope this turns out to be a success! 😊
Do you have a link for that brown colored plate?
Can you do that with Agar Agar?
I can't afford the mixers and stuff u use but it's cool. I need the veggie stuff for my husband. Low carb stuff
They look delicious, I will give this a try
Great! Hope you enjoy the marshmallows!
These look so fluffy and tasty!
Also, do these melt?
Great recipe, thank you for sharing! I love your marble benchtop btw :)
You're welcome! Hope you enjoy the recipe. And I love that marble island as well! :) x
how long do they last?
Do you have a link to the black plate?
Hi Lisa, how long do you think these would last and should they be stored in the fridge??
They'll stay good for a week or so, but I think they're best eaten in the first day or two. :) Just keep them in a sealed container on the counter (not in the fridge).
thanks :)
Can you add nuts or coconut to this?
I can use Agar Agar?
Can we use flavored gelatin?
Can they melt like marshmallows?
Can I use this marshmallows to make rice crispy treats? For the kids?
Yes, absolutely!
Hi! I’ve made this with my kids with honey one time and maple syrup the other time.. both were delicious! I was wondering if I can replace honey or maple syrup with monk fruit sweetener since it’s low on glycemic index (my oldest son has adhd)
I must to use agar-agar. I can't with gelatin. How can I mesure the agar-agar instead of gelatin? Could someone help me?
I clicked in this sooo fast. Marshmellows, FINALLY.
Haha - so glad you liked it! And it's a great recipe for this time of year. :)
unflavoured gelatine makes everything stinky. is it normal?
how to avoid that?? can i add some flavoured one?
I've never had that problem, though I use Vital Proteins gelatine. The brand of gelatine you use may be different. If you'd like to use a flavored gelatine, I don't see a problem with that. :)
Downshiftology thank you!!😊
Nice. Video
I hoped that was no added sugar
This helped me so much.I was really enjoying watching you make them and mine turned out just as great like yours.I'm so happy with my results!!! ^•^
Yay! That makes me so happy to hear!! And now you have a big pile to marshmallows to enjoy (always the best). :) x
For regular powdered sugar, yes! And I highly recommend the Vitamix as well. I use it daily. ;) x
The ones I made taste a lot like honey, should they?
How could I adapt this recipe to be spreadable? More like a thick fluff?
The gelatin makes it firm up, so if you want a thick fluff, don't use gelatin.
Wow! This was 8 years ago and I just discover it.
I want to try this with Rice Crispy treats!
Haha. A sweet treat!
You should really add subtitles cause I'm trying to watch with no sound on
I cant find the recipe. Can u tell me how much from it?
You can always find the recipe linked in the video description :)
I am going to try this recipe Mam, will share the experience with u
Wonderful! I look forward to it!
Lovely 😊 thanks
Can I use agar agar thank you
Unfortunately no, not for this recipe.
Super receta ,big like :-)
i just made homemade marshmallows last week!
They're the best! I think my next batch may be a chocolate swirl. ;) x
thumbs up :). so easy. great video.
So easy and so good! ;) Thanks Christina!
Can i use my blendtec instead of that mixer
Unfortunately, no.
I enjoy every video 😉 so wonderful 🐝🍒🍓💖
Thanks so much Ina! :)
I'm feeling like an inadequate mom just about now 😩😅
Oh no, not at all! I had never made these at home myself until recently. ;)
I love love love marshmallows very much
Hope you enjoy the recipe!
Nice recipe
Thanks a lot!
How much hane you pit6
Holy sugar rush, they come out great with stevia.
Great to hear! How much stevia do you use?
Downshiftology we add to taste.
VB yes, add to taste, but how much do YOU use? It’s helpful to have a ballpark reference. Thanks!!
Wow, that's alot sugar, honey, etc. But they look yummy!
If we do not put gletain
This will not work without gelatin.
Used half honey, half maple syrup. Had to cook over low heat because the mixture boils over super easily. It took over an hour for it to come to temp, and the end result did not taste good at all. Waste of ingredients and time. I’ll just go back to making it the reliable, “unhealthy” way.
Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy this recipe. But that's strange about how long it took for the sugar to come to temperature - as it should only takes 15 minutes max.
Downshiftology,
Thank you for your prompt reply.
The mixture was very temperamental for me. I couldn’t cook it on anything higher than low heat, which is probably why it took so long. But when I turned the heat up any higher, it would start to boil over.
I apologize for the negative tone of my initial comment. Your calm response helped to diffuse my frustration.
Make it with corn syrup
Hmmmm, i made mine with maple syrup!
This will be a great recipe for my grandkids - thanks!
Yes! And you can add chocolate or other flavorings. :)
Gelatin water honey sugar
Trying to remind myself even with all this sugar its healthier than other options 😅😅
Haha. Yes. They are marshmallows after all. ;)
Don't eat marshmellows. That's all. Who needs all that sugar? It's insane!
Hi Lisa! Would it be possible to do this recipe without a mixer? Just a whisk and my arm? 😂
Unless you've got a bionic arm (ha!), I'd say no. ;)
Wow interesante
Hi. its greate.
It's more kinda like sweet tofu than a Marshmello 😂
Sugar with sugar in sugar and some water with sugar) no wonder now why they’re so addictive)
Exactly what I thought. Stop eating SUGAR!
Bahamian recipe with no marshmallow
With this much powdered sugar I’d rather buy them already
🤤🤤🤤🤤
