What apps have YOU used for calorie counting and what did you think of them?
MFP and I really like it!
How to get the total calories for the day. I don’t see it on my ios devices
Holy crap. I just downloaded this app. I’m getting back into it. I started at 375lbs and today I weighed 343lbs. I been at it for 8 weeks.
It’s a bit daunting so far.
Love it! Keep going!
How u doin now
@MathiasLegend87 how is it going
I’m just going to be honest with you guys, I gave up. I have a shit ton of excuses, but at the end of the day, I’m just not into it anymore. The bottom line is…..Do I want to be fit more than I want to sit on my ass? and as of right now, the answer is no. It’s not worth it
@@smallfry0764love the honesty
I'm totally new to counting calories. Thanks for this video. I've picked up about 20 lbs over the pandemic and am working to get down to around 150lbs.
You got it! Good luck!
I love the app. It gives me the just the minimal info that I want to know, and it’s not complicated to use.
OMG!! I know this is old. You just kept me from pulling my hair out!! With a tracker other than Myfitness Pal!! Thank you!!!!! Yup liked and subscribed!!!
I’m glad you found it helpful!
This was incredibly helpful! Thank u!
Glad you found it helpful!
Such great info!
I always appreciate my #1 fan! 😂
Great information!
Thank you!
Very helpful, thank you
Very welcome!
What food scale are you using? What’s the name of it and where did you buy it?
Cool video bro. I just started with this app and I like it. Is there a section that will show you consumption in grams? Like for ex Mikey ate 120 grams of fat, 29 grams carbs and 200 grams of protein. I like to see my diet this way as well as calories. Also I know I can just ask Siri to divide 800 by 4 to get 200 grams of protein. It would just be cool to see automatically in app.
Hey again thanks for your info. Is there a difference for women after menopause in the way we burn calories? Is that need to change on the calculator?
Typically, no. I would still calculate your initial calorie intake the exact same way. Then, if you end up not seeing results on that calorie intake I would then start to drop them.
Thanks for the great vid. I'm skinny fat and I'm doing weight training. How important is it to weigh food? Is it truly important to weigh every potato, slice of cheese, cup of rice etc? I'm not after a ripped body, just want to lose my stomach and bulk up. If I eyeball my food will that make much of a difference to overall results?
If you’re wanting to track your calories then weighing your food is important. If you’re gonna take the time to track you want to make sure you’re doing it accurately. Once you’ve done it a little while you’ll start to get good at it and find it’s quite easy and not time consuming at all.
Thank you
You’re welcome!
Interesting video.
Hopefully, interesting in a good way! 😀
Like where it says amount is that how many pieces you eat of something or like say if i eat a can of corn would that just be one can im so confused lol
So I just decided to start tracking calories to help with weight loss, so here is to hoping that this helps. Figure this combined with maybe an hour walk on non-working days maybe I will start to feel better here in a few months.
Great start!
Hi, I'm new to keeping up with weights & measures, could you please explain how I can reset my total target calories on Cronometer? I've tried but don't see how to do it.
The app is saying my daily calories are something like 2,284.
If I eat that many calories, I'll GAIN weight instead of lose.
So how do I change that number?
Also can it be changed from "kcal" to "cal"?
Kcal is confusing me, or is it basically the same as Cal?
And thank you for being so thorough and explaining it all so clearly.
Thanks.
On the app consider kcal and cal the same. To change calories it’s under settings -> energy settings. Then create a custom energy target
@@dustin.k.williams still not getting it
What do you think about the calories not adding up based on grams of macros in Cronometer? Do you go by the calories listed by Cronometer or just try to hit macro grams since their calorie listing is not based on the standard 4/4/9 calories per gram?
There can be multiple reasons for this. Sometimes they round off. Or they may not count any calories that come from fiber.
I don't track calories but this video gives me the confidence if I needed to! Nice work 👍
Awesome! If you ever decided to start I would be happy to help you!
@@dustin.k.williams please what if the meals don’t have codes
I've noticed the cronometer page no longer has the 3 rings along the top. Now I have to go to the daily report and the rings show vertically. I need to see how many calories I've consumed on the first page. Did I accidentally change a setting or is the something Cronometer has done to the app, do you know?
If you swipe the top box sideways you have different options you can see. One of them is the 3 rings with calorie numbers.
Hi Dustin! My fat intake is always in the red and I’m not sure how many calories I have available. What should I be looking at? Should I try to hit 100 percent for each category? I’m attempting Keto.
You’ll always be in the red for fat if you’re trying to do keto. You can manually input the numbers you want to hit for fat, carbs and proteins.

I hope your eating pasture raised eggs, and raw cheeses now!! Thanks for the video!!
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Check out Dr. Eric Berg. He'll keep you away from those bad eggs and processed cheese. Good vid. Thank you
What scale do you use? Where did you get it?
There’s a link in my description
It won’t scan products outside of the us?
It should. I got some feedback from some people in Australia using it with no issues.
My camera is not allowing me to scan foods, how do I make that work?
Not sure. Might try deleting the app and reinstalling it
Hi do you weigh the food before cooking or after cooking ?
You can do either based on how you calculate, but I typically recommend before cooking
Are you using the free version or the gold version?
I always use the free version with my clients.
I prefer to eat the right foods like lean meats, fruits, and vegetables where it hard to eat too many calories. But for people the eat the wrong foods calorie counting is essential.
Glad to hear you make better food choices for yourself!
You don’t show how to read the charts or of you have met your goal to lose weight ect
I use My Fitness Pal!
Glad to hear you track and pay attention to what you eat!
Ok but what do you do when your eating a chicken sandwich there’s no bar code and you can’t calculate how much is in there so u prob have to use a food scale eh ?
If you make it yourself and you want to be accurate, then yes use a food scale
@@dustin.k.williams is there anyway to count calories without a calories counter scale it’s such a pain in the ass 😂
App name?
It’s called “Cronometer” 👍
Is it totally free???
Yes, Cronometer is completely free. They have a paid option, but myself nor my clients use the paid version.
I need to start calorie counting... how much in a Milano cookie??🤣
Oh those calories are free calories. They don't count 😂
Prefer my fitness pal
Nothing wrong with that. Just glad you’re tracking in general.
