**How to Calculate your starting Protein Macro for 80/20:
Starting High Fat Carnivore (also called 80/20 and KetoAF(Animal Fats)) begins with lowering your protein. here is what I have picked up and applied to myself:
1. First you need your IDEAL weight. I found mine here: www.calculator.net/ideal-weig... PLEASE NOTE: This is not necessarily your goal weight! It's only for calculation purposes!
2. Eat between 1.2 and 1.4 grams protein per kg of ideal body weight.
In my case, my ideal weight is 56kg (123lbs). So my protein range will be between 67.2g (1.2x56) and 78g(1.4x56) per day.
3. Then divide that number by 3 (or however many meals you will eat) which for me I will target between 22 and 26 grams protein per meal.
4. Then having that info I know I will also want to eat between double to triple the fat at each meal. So if I eat 25 grams of protein at a meal, then I will want to eat 50-75 grams of fat at that same meal.
**This plan will not work for OMAD, and likely not even for 2MAD (as I found out!) because it is also recommended to keep protein at a max of 30 grams in one sitting in order to not spike blood sugar.

yes, you will for sure!
Can you explain why you prefer to use total carbs instead of net carbs?
Net carbs are a construct that your body doesn't actually even know about! I have not ever met a single person who switched to total carbs and regretted the better results they got! Try it for 30 days and if it doesn't make a difference you can always go back!
Again, fantastic video. Question, I have an iWatch, and it appears that I can connect Cronometer. I can't tell if it brings the "steps" over just like the fitbit. Is that your understanding?
Gee I am not really sure what it does with the Apple Watch. I think each device is going to be different in how it 'talks' to cronometer.
I think these apps are based on calories in and calories out… so high calorie carnivore is a disadvantage in the types of apps.
You do a great Job !! However my calories never start with 0 for the day nor does it calculate for me my stats. How can I get help???
If you look along the left side of screen near the bottom, there is a big '?', click on that for help! They have always got back to me within a reasonable amount of time.
Question. When setting macro nutrient targets do you want 80% of the fat grams or 80% calories from fat? Looked like you set 80% of grams from fat?
I have tried it both ways and the pie charts come out exactly the same!
As funny as this sounds when I was doing the set up for my profile I put my weight as 279 instead of 179. How do I fix that? Thank you for your wonderful videos Anita, I love them and you.
Go into Profile and Settings, scroll down to weight, click on update and it will allow you to change it there.

Why don't you start there and see how you do. Nothing is carved in stone, you can change your macros anytime.
Hi, how come my goal surplus is 499. I’m supposed to be at -499? Don’t know what i did!
I assume you are talking about calorie goal? There is a sliding scale, just pull it the other way instead. I did that the first time too, lol! Also I think that 500 cal is a large deficit to manage when starting out, they say you should tackle 10% deficit first, then go from there.
Are you using a paid cronometer account?
I am now, but I used the free account for several weeks and also for this tutorial.

It is definitely free, I just clicked on the link and it said sign up for the Free Account. There are certain features that require the paid account but I don't think those features are that important. bit.ly/3GheDKD
