Cronometer is GREAT! I tried keto and lost huge amount of leg muscle. I did IF and my hair kept falling out. Now I'm getting all my carbs from non-grains and non-starchy veggies...and fast from 16-18 hrs most days. By using a calorie deficit, I was FINALLY able to lose weight! I lost 12 lbs the first 3 weeks! Went from 152 to 142. I'm 5'10'' and almost 70 yrs old. I do 4-5 ten min exercise videos a day plus 30 min walking and at least half hr belly dancing. I also go out dancing 2-3 nights a week. Most ppl think I'm 50, not 70!
I'm able to track my IF with this app by using the 'mood' biometric. This biometric is recorded as just a number, and to me, this number represents what time in the PM I started my eating window. You could also use this biometric to reflect how many hours your eating window was or your fasting window was. Then you can graph the 'mood' biometric and see how it effects your caloric intake. I'm a gold sub, love the app, Thanks for making it! (PS I would love a grocery list builder that I can add my keto recipes to)
Awesome! I’ve already lost over 100 pounds with a combination of water fasting, intermittent fasting, and keto. I think I’m at the point where I need to start tracking macros, since the weight loss is slowing down, now that I’ve lost a lot of weight. Downloading the app now and will post a review on my channel after I try it. I’m currently documenting a water fast, but as soon as I start eating, I will be using this. Thanks Dr. Berg 🙏
An exciting new development! I already signed up. One of the neat things things Aaron has done is create a UA-cam tutorial in sizable bites that is really helpful. Thanks Aaron for all the hard work. As soon as I get really comfortable with this I will go on and buy the regular version; totally worth it I think at this point (cautious buyer here;)
I truly love the ad free app. I get so much customization from it that I don't see a need for a paid membership. The only possible issue is sometimes an item won't have micronutrients listed, like for fresh veggies. BUT you can't know what they really provide anyway because it depends on many factors. For one, soil quality is unknown & affects it. For another, there are antinutrients (phytates, oxylates, lectin, etc) that interfere with your absorption of micros. Take spinach. It's listed as high in calcium. However, it's also high in oxylates. Therefore, the calcium you end up absorbing from this "high calcium" food is much less. So, I give up on micros but supplement my electrolytes a little just in case.
wonderfully informative. Gratitude to you both.
Tried it now! Love the site! Used it to calculate macros of my desserts ! Thank you!
So so thankful ... that you are coordinating this Dr Berg.... thank you for the app... I will check it out !!! I’m hoping it’s not too complex and time consuming as I’am really bad at logging daily !!!
I just started using this app since you recommended it and love it but glad to get more info on using it
Love this. Thank you This is amazing
Thanks so much. This app is awesome, really helping me track my macros a lot better. Thanks!!
This is an incredible application! This guy and his team really went all out on it. I hope it has a lot of success which I’m sure it will over time.
Thank you for letting us know about this tool- I am getting this!
I'm such a math and science nerd and this kinda stuff makes me giddy! This is the reason why I LOVE learning Keto and IF from Dr. Berg. He is all about the science and DATA. Also, he teaches about overall health and wellness, nutrition deficiencies, etc. I'm always so excited when I wake up because he always has something posted early in the morning.
Love this app for keto, and that I can customize, and entering how many carbs and/or protein Iwant to hit everyday, if different from the recommended amount.
I have used this program for a about two years in fact. It’s given me great insight into what I’m lacking dietary. Potassium is a significant deficiency with me and it’s helping me choose foods that I can increase the amount I consume. Great programme.
Thanx a million! This is fantastic!!!
I LOVE CRONOMETER!! THANK YOU FOR IT.
Me too! A lot of intelligence built into this app.
I already have it. Very handy and use it every day. Thanks
I love Cronometer and I also love it is now integrated with Heads Up Heath!
Dr. Berg gives us the best info!
Absolutely..
I have been using this app since I started my Keto journey. Best app and very easy to use.
Sita Kumar
Would you able to help me when I get mine . I’m not good at technology .
So third day of using the app. I am impressed by the nutrition tracking and being able to easily see at a glance which vitamins and minerals I am deficient. I love tracking key targets like water, fats and proteins. Even knowing that I need to log improves my choices. The logging takes seconds thanks to an extensive library of food and supplements. Everything from BCAA supplements to pumpkin bread from Trader's Joe. If you like to be informed with dashboards and tracking this is a pretty awesome app. It's also fun to see which targets you hit on a daily basis. I absolutely love it. I've done the winging it method and this app and I have to say that I prefer the app.
Looking for an app that takes fasting days into account when tracking days of eating. Not sure if this app does that. Ideally an all in one app would be nice. I am constantly using a conversion calculator. It’s turning into a part time job to just track macros accurately but worth learning how to manage my health. Thanks DR Berg
I've been using cronometer off and on since 2010 (when I was doing the CRON diet).I got the gold when I started keto in June. I'm always amazed when I try a new food- it's already there in the database! Couple questions..
1. Dr Berg you're often mentioning K2 but chronometer only displays K. If I am over 100% on my K for the day can I assume I am getting enough K2?
2. Mr. Davidson. Water. I have a reverse osmosis water filter. I was logging my water intake using the "tap water" selection, until I realized it was affecting my chart by showing minerals I probably wasn't getting. So now I'm using "distilled". Is "distilled" the accurate login for reverse osmosis water?
3. I get sun every day (20 minutes) the sun is out. D is about the only vitamin I am chronically deficient in on cronometer. How do I resolve?
4. I eat a huge salad nearly every day. romaine, power greens, radicchio with avocado.I also consume electrolytes. And I NEVER get to 4700 a day potassium! Should I take a potassium supplement also?
I'd be happy to share my login info with you Dr. Berg so you can use it for your research.( i signed up for mercola and grassroots on cronometer.)
Ldygzlle , I just started substituting No Salt (potassium: 650mg of K+ per 1/4 tsp) for table salt (when cooking) and saving my Himalayan salt for my electrolyte drink which is just juice of 1/2 lemon or lime mixed with Himalayan salt (I don’t measure but add just enough to equal mild to moderate saltiness and usually in a large cup which holds 32+ ozs of H2O. I try to drink at least two of these daily in addition to plain water. I also add a little apple cider vinegar once or twice a day to keep up the level of hydrochloric acid in my tummy.
Bethany...thanks for the reply. I am hesitant of no salt because of radioactivity. What about cream of tatar? Also do you know which type of potassium we should be consuming? Potassium citrate, bicarbonate, chloride, phosphate, gluconate, citrate, orotate, etc? Maybe it depends on why there is a deficiency? i am not having any potassium deficiency symptoms and my chronometer is showing 2,000 plus per day, and I saw that the university of maryland is recommending 2,000/day. Daily I consume a lemon, acv and vega sport electrolyte in water. I have so many questions ugh! Sorry to ramble- again thanks for replying.
Ldygzlle , I’ve not looked into which type of potassium is best, but I’ve seen potassium chloride, citrate, and gluconate suggested.
I’ve also found, collectively, that 2,000mg is sufficent. My initial understanding was that we are to drink a lot of water on keto, and in doing so we flush out more electrolytes than the average person. Meeting the goal of 4,700mg then made sense. But, I’ve recently learned, according to Dr. Berg, that we don’t need to drink water unless thirsty, which I do not entirely agree with, but if we ARE drinking less, then logically we would be excreting less electrolytes.
A member in my keto group runs half marathons and reports doing very well on between 1,500 - 2,000mg of daily potassium.
What's important is to figure how many calories (energy) to consume daily to lose weight... and cronomoter asks you to collect the info that can return correct energy for you ... Collects weight, height, bmi, how much exercise daily,.. So its easy to keep track of macros used, and needed daily for you. It's great!! I love it.
Love to see information about how many calories you need to reduce when eating only one time a day..
Thanks for sharing!
THIS WAS THE MOST USEFUL VIDEO I HAVE COME ACROSS, THE ONLY DOWN SIDE TO THAT STATEMENT IS I WISH HE WOULD HAVE USED A REGULAR ACCOUNT AND NOT THE PROFESSIONAL VERSION AS THINGS I LOOKED FOR WERE NOT ON THE REGULAR PAID VERSION. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO.
Thank you Dr. Berg
This was a great podcast... very useful. I have been using this app for a year... love it ... dumped my fitness pal.
I love it too!!
Thanks, doc!
I just bought the app!
I love this app. It's very powerful and you get some good stats on the paid version.
Carb manger app is the best for me and not too expensive it also links to the health app on my iPhone & Iwatch
Dr. Berg they now have fasting mode. Would you do an update on this app? I just found this and another utuber said to use the fix mode would you recommend this or is their formula now updated and ok to use?
I love Chronometer!
I love the app called carb manager. It’s great for keto. It gives you your percentages and has so much food. Even does bar code scans. Plus it’s free.
Plus Carb Manager, if the item is not there or nutritional info not correct, you can input the item stored for personal and publish it to the data base for all if you wish.
The best program ever!
Have you considered that the app could suggest what to eat if certain nutrients are still needed, let's say, from noon on, accordingly to what one could have eaten in the morning?
i am just trying this app out i dont know why but WHY am I seeing Google ads on my personal app ?? that is totally annoying because I dont know that it isn't part of your app but an advertisement and totally unrelated to your app... also it feel tad overwhelming and too much to be honest... simplicity is appreciated not get overwhelmed with so many aspects to consider for someone who is just trying to problem solve
He said they keep on the trends. He’s adaptable. That’s , what separates the , new new , Dr Berg. I’m John from the first live show , mar 3. Hello!!
Any update on your keto calculator?
Agreed. Cronometer is GREAT!!
The stopwatch is better than a cronometer, sometimes
I use Cronometer and it is nice, but:
1. It is very US-centric. In foods, in products, in portions and in weight units
2. It does NOT contain many food items that are widely available outside US
3. The values for micronutrients come from databases that are sometimes decades old, and eating CAFOS "beef" meat is not the same as eating 100% organic gradd-fed/grass-finished beef from a local butchery.
With that said, it's a great app. For calorie tracking, I think it's much more accurate to get a heart-strap and a fitness tracker.
At around 11:30 he says you can change the calorie count to carb count and I would like to do this but I can’t figure it out. I went to profile and then saw target but it doesn’t seem to offer me any way to change the heading am I missing something
Can you do a video on thallium in green vegetables?
So Dr Berg, is the cronometer the app you recommend most? Are they others?
where is the recipe input and does it break down per serving?
Wow, this looks like a sooo much better app than the competitors since this is the only app ive found that actually tracks micronutrients in a reasonable way!
Just Awesome just signed up for one year!
Great. Keto on!
I really tried this app and wanted to love it, but it didn't suit my food intake needs.
if your already Iean (naturally) but I wanna gain weight , and I can’t seem to eat enough , would you recommend cyclical until I get to my Desired mass , I don’t drink , I don’t smoke , I quit , don’t eat gluten or milk , refined sugar and fructose , but I can’t gain , I’m 23?
Samsung Health does 92% of this free on Android and iOS. Plus to SamHealth is connection to wearables for exercise, BP, BS, weight, and sleep. Cronometer allows for personalization of micronutrients, phytonutrients and macros.
Has the fasting tracker been added?
Hello Doc. My fasting blood sugar is always around 90’s and post prandel sugar is 85. It is been like this for 10 years now. I am 35 now. Should i be worried? I am 5 feet 10” and weight 147 pounds. I workout 6 days a week with 30 minutes cardio session and 60 minutes workout
REALLY important to know where they get their data on "nutrients" need to investigate... (they may get their ingredients by users looking at the packages and entering the listed ingredients, etc. that's a way some companies fill out their databases, the customers become their 'data gatherers', the customers find out the ingredients and give it to the tracking app, sneaky but the app is free)
This app is so much better than Carb Manager. Thank you! Carb manager has a lot of bad information.
Great app 10/10 but still lacking in food databases
Wish he showed how to use the app.
Can you track epok on the app
How does it compare to Carb Manger app?
Intriguing.
Can anybody help me with this I just download the app and it says that you can change the calorie count to carb count if you go to profile and target but there’s nothing there that Lends any clue as to how to change the calorie count to carb count I’m old and stupid when it comes to technology can somebody help me
I have the free version of Cronometer, and there are a few things that I just totally don't understand about it, and none of the tutorials I've seen cover my questions. Is there someone I can talk to at Cronometer that can walk me through what I'm missing and help me understand? It's telling me I need to live on 898 calories a day, which is of course total crap. The numbers in various sections of Cronometer do not match up or make sense! Please help!
Would this app tell me how many calories/carbs etc I need to eat in order to loose weight?
I need to loose at least 65lbs, I been doing keto since 11/23/18 down 11 lbs 😏
Haven’t cheat at all , I eat twice a day with one snack of nuts a day , obviously I’m doing
Something wrong, since I haven’t loose enough weight , I’ll appreciate any advice!
Thank you!
Why did the french version disappear?
Cronometer is definitely a winner for me.
The mobile version should be updated.
Seems like most features you would want to use are for Gold members…. Including the Fasting tracker.
Not sure I want to pay $11 a month.
No free trial option… hmmmm
It won’t let me go gold on the app
The thing is the vegetables & fruits are not equal in nutruents eg. even up to 80% less nutrients can be in broccoli from China then the one you grow in your garden in Californians village.
I have used the program for years. While it does track food et cetra it has bugs, short comings and is particularly bad on whole foods vs processed foods. If you eat processed food and visit known fast-food places it works. If you eat unprocessed foods its offerings are meager in comparison. It also tracks stuff most folks are not interested in -- aspatric acid comes to mind -- and fails to track things many of us in the exercise world would like to know, creatine for example. Some "nutriments" never record anything because no "data points" on them. Fluoride, Chromium, Molybdenum, and Phystosterol are listed but don't work, the iodine reporting is spotty. For example you can eat seaweed but no increase in iodine is recorded. I really don't give a %$#@ that they don't have the latest bag of cheetos but real foods can be hard to find. Adding foods can be very frustrating, few choices and ignorant programming. Indeed, the recently added "help" button is on the wrong side and in the way. The program has profile bugs as well. I can set them but only to a point. The system is yupppie, not flexible, very geeky and not at all intuitive. It is also stupid. It takes a very long time to find something like unsalted butter but in my list of everyday items I consume it always lists a banana though I have never eaten a banana while owning this program. And as saunas increase heart rate and burn calories I think sauna should be added to the list of exercises. I use because it is the most applicable but I don't like it.
which is the correct one on the app store CRON-O-Meter or Chronometer
Cronometer
Awesome!!
But I'm in the Settings section now and the UI is nothing like you're describing.
😟
Where do I set the ratios for a "very serious condition"?
Can it work for carnivore too?
Be aware, this app is not free. The app is free but to use it, it costs $34.99 per year to become a Gold member which then allows you to use the 'nutrient x food' Oracle database which I think is what most people want. The rest of the stuff you can get in truly free apps or use a pencil to keep a diary.
Interesting but not for me, too much info....doing Keto simple is my way of going ✌🏻
Cronometer is weird, sometimes it adds trans fats to products that don't have them (at least not in Europe).
Or there's multiple options for the same food and they have different nutrition data.
Maybe I just don't know how to properly use this website.
Nutritional data can vary by brand.
Its a great app for your own custom recipes and portions. Beats doing the math.
Hi dr 🌞🌞🌞
Price of the app, since then, doubled...
I like this! But I wish your faces were bigger and the info was smaller.
A person who is 5'1 is going to need a different amount of nutrients than a person who is 6'5, we are not all made by a cookie cutter. The medium estimate would be a person who is 6'0 tall at 200 lbs. Also the first question on this app is about your sex ??? Female: Normal Pregnant, Lactating, what about menopausal? People of all ages do Keto. I am 45 and I just started on it after doing an extensive research whether it is right for me? Where is this info going? Who has access to it? Some people have humility and dignity, I un-nistalled it. I am also very conscientious about whom I support. I buy my eggs and meat from my local farmer, everything they have is pasture raised (the animals run outside all day and eat their original natural diet, never any grains from GMO garbage), my milk, cream and butter are raw from grass fed cows, I don't see that in the cronometer.
I've had this app for a year, but don't find it that useful as it doesn't show proper nutrient content. Eggs are full of b vitamins, yet it doesn't register. 🙁
thats to bad because egg have all vitamin but not c-vitamin
It does list vitamin b content on mine.
Are you using the generic 'Eggs, Cooked'? It does list vitamin B...
L F , even when using a barcode scanner?
@@marie-evehervieux2746 No....I buy organic, pastured eggs
How do. You add homemade foods like soup?
You can enter a recipe and it will calculate the data. I even made a recipe of the vitamins that I take daily so I don't have to enter each one everyday.
Marylynn Caldwell thanks. I looked at it and can’t figure it out! Must be my 70 year old brain doesn’t work anymore! 😢
@@judymeulman8233 I'm 76 years old. Cronometer meter isn't difficult-you just need to poke around in it. Click on the Foods tab.
Marylynn Caldwell thanks! I have some emails that will help me figure it out, I’ll be sure to get to them today.
Marylynn: Look on UA-cam for their tutorial series called _Cronometer University_ I'm 73 and understand your frustration. But your brain works just fine, you only need a bit of help!
The nutrient tracking is phenomenal for this app.
Love this app.....just need a bit more nutrients in certain foods
Can it generate labeling for homemade . label based on what you put in it (including exact portions for people who are meal planning and actually weighing their portions).
Also maybe you can add a calculator that what tell you what meal combination would put you over. As in if I entered oatmeal for breakfast and I'm trying to decide lunch, I can scroll through my favorite recipes and if say pasta bowl would put me over goals it would be red, but egg salad would be green cause it's in my limits.
You can create a recipe so you can select it in the future instead of re-entering each ingredient. To see if you'll go over your limits just select the recipe then look at your macro bars. I do it often.
I really tried sticking with the the keto diet, but I just felt awful and it's also really hard to adhere to. I then tried the Agoge diet and it was life changing, I highly recommend it to everyone.
Hey I go in and out of keto every single day...can you believe that,,,weird!
Aron seems confused by the idea of somebody using his program to fix nutrient deficiencies. As if he's not legally allowed to say that Cronometer can do what it's meant for.
Dr Berg I thought you where coming out with a app ?
MyFitnessPal is what I use
This one is better! But I like MyFitnessPal too.
Ive been using myfitnesspal since 2012 but it does have its limitations. I'm gonna check out this app.
Try using this app don’t work.
oh God i've never clicked so fast :) hope is what im looking for
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS APP! It's perfect for optimization! Also, support is VERY responsive and friendly!
I just read a lot of the reviews and I gotta tell ya, not good and I won't pay monthly, yearly etc! Sorry
I love Cronometer but I think you should have made it much more clear that the version demonstrated is a paid version that monthly is $5.99 I believe or you can pay it biannually or annually at a lower cost. It's certainly worth it.
I bought the $2.99 no monthly and I get all of the features shown.
@@TheWinonaJohnson I use the $2.99 version also but I don't get the breakfast lunch and dinner or a lot of the other features that are available only in the Gold version. The version demonstrated was the Gold version.
