    Hi Paul: those fruits are Cheremoya and here's a detailed description: The flavour is a heady mix of banana and pineapple with perhaps a little strawberry and kiwi thrown in. Its fruity taste is light and refreshing, but the white creamy, custardy texture is also pleasant and comforting to eat. Like a homemade pudding made virtuous - that's the beauty of the cheremoya. Thank you for your very interesting and helpful demos mixed with humour.

      I disagree. The leaves aren’t right. It’s a type of Magnolia tree. I grew up with one in my yard. Those are seed pods, and burst open with deep red seeds.

    First, thank you for these Q&A's. They are certainly packed full of information. I believe the tree is a magnolia. It has very distinct leaves & leaf patterns. I didn't realize they had fruit, as they're mostly known for their large blooms but looked them up & found that they do.

  • @Karin-xn5sx
    @Karin-xn5sx 2 роки тому +4

    Thank you for the Q & A! That “fruit” on the tree was actually a flower bud for a type of southern magnolia tree. We have them here locally. I live in Sarasota, Florida - south of Tampa - along the coast. This is a great place to visit if you plan on coming to the United States. The bay here, Ringling Museum, and the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens are absolutely beautiful! Thanks again for all you do and share for us who follow you (and Margot)!
    Ok…so after digging into this further…I have discovered it is a magnolia tree seed pod! I see them all the time and assumed it was the bud! :)

      @@nadeacheung1715 it’s actually the seed pod from a magnolia tree not the flower bud. I will correct my above reply. I knew it was a Magnolia, but found out It comes after the bud. It’s sort of like a pine cone.

    Wow!
    I enjoy the talk as much as the demonstrations, so don't mind if you don't 'get on with it'.
    I find sketching the most difficult part, mostly because I get caught in the details and I draw piece by piece instead of the whole composition.
    The demonstration of loose painting is very inspiring.
    If you ever decide to visit India, the best time would be October to April, though one can visit the hilly areas all year round except perhaps, the monsoons (July and August).

Delicious and incredibly refreshing but only if you eat them at the right time - autumn is best and most towns and villages have a big fiesta to celebrate the harvest. They contain a billion pips so require your full attention but it's worth it. Great video by the way!

    Cheers Paul! You always bring such a positive wealth of information. I love your Q&A videos (I love all your videos) you have helped me navigate my watercolor journey and taken a medium that was a bit intimidating to me and turned it into my favorite thing to explore. I find that carrying over into all water soluble supplies and I am having so much fun. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, have a great week!

    I've been paintinging watercolor everyday for 2 years, my skill level is above average. I already had a artistic headstart with sketching so that has helped.but all that considered I still lack compositional skills, and sometimes struggle with value. So much more to learn before I hit that expert mark.

    Good afternoon from the NW side of the U.S.. I am so grateful for this tutorial especially about the snowy trees. We've had some freezing fog last month which made the trees look like winter wonderlands but I didn't know how to capture them...now I can! Our country is so beautiful and I truly hope you get a chance to explore all there is to offer, from the oceans, mountains and high deserts. I can't wait to hear where you are deciding to go. Thank you for all your lovely videos.

    I always enjoy your videos because you're so kind. Thank you for all the great instruction. I love the part about very few brush strokes and not mudding the paper - this is something I tend to do.🤷 I want to see results now, not gradually 😅

    It is interesting your answer to how do you know when one has become an intermediate or advanced watercolor artist. Experience. To that I would like to add confidence. I for one only painting watercolor for roughly 5 months now, can say my confidence has grown the more I try new techniques and feel my color mixing strength is becoming second nature and take a leap and make mistakes. I watch your videos and other artists videos as well, Jenna Rainey, Matthew Palmer, Matthew White over and over taking away more each time. If not for all of you, I would never have even attempted it. So for that I am so deeply grateful. I am 64 and wish I had done this years ago yet that’s ok as now I know how I want to spend my retirement hours. Gracie mille!
