Went to Sweden on a study abroad, got to see MCR for 40 dollars, I have never seen a language barrier melt away as quickly as well they started playing Welcome to the Black Parade, because every single Swede at that venue knew every single word, half a world away and this song transcends cultures, we’re all part of the black parade

Actually when I first heard the album version, it was 2014 or so. For SOME REASON, as a 30 year old man at that time, hearing our boy sing that first verse that second time, almost as a wavering yell, some kind of war cry against death, I BAWLED. It was absolutely incredible.

I heard so much MCR in my teenage years and I was finally on a MCR Concert this year and just cried when they played that song with everyone singing along. It was just awesome.
The year MCR broke up, I met one of my best friends. I noticed she had a really cool alien tattoo, and complimented it. She told me she got it because she asked Gerard Way to draw her a picture so she could get it tattooed on her lol, she met him at a meet and greet after one of their concerts in ‘07 and we became friends over our shared love for the band. I had never gotten to see them live before they broke up so I’d always hoped to see them some day. Fast forward 10 years, she’s still one of my best friends in the whole world, and I managed to get my hands on two tickets for their comeback tour, and I got to actually see them live after 15 years of waiting, with my best friend of 10 years, we screamed the songs and cried together the whole show. It was 1000000/10 the best day of my life.

All the emotions you are talking about going through listening to the song are the emotions a lot of us who grew up when this came out have felt throughout ours lives. I can’t even say I’m the biggest Emo or MCR fan, but this song always hits hard.
Gerard Way is the main singer and fun fact ; he is cousins wit Joe Rogan and created the comic book/Netflix show "The Umbrella Academy."

This song brings me such good memories of the time my friend was having a house party and it was like 3am, everyone had left except for me, the host, and another friend. We ended up singing this song karaoke style and it was one of the best nights I've had. Great tune, been listening to them since I was a teenager.
In my opinion this song plays the same ways as the stages of grief and you can hear when it changes to a new stage of it too, have a re listen and pay attention to the lyrics because I’d love to hear your interpretation of the song, much love bro keep it going! ❤
