You don't know how much this song meant to do many emos, especially between March 22nd, 2013 and December of 2019. It's like a 2000s Bohemian Rhapsody. It's morbid but also so empowering, and it's helped a lot of people including me keep going when times were tough. We carried on all those years for the boys. We will still carry on for as long as we have to. 🥹

You're welcome! Watching from Decatur, Illinois (born, raised, and now back) although I've worked and lived all over the U.S. (10 cities across 3 states on 3 different sides of the country; Illinois, Arizona, and Arkansas). If no one can explain this video to you (and this album in general as it is a themed concept album) then you can use a search engine (like Google, Yahoo, Bing, DuckDuckGo, etc.) and look up phrases like "Welcome to the black parade song meaning" or similar search phrase and read like the first 3-5 links to find out what the song is about. You can do this with any song or anything really. Of course, you can't believe everything your read, but if multiple sources are saying the same thing or similar then they're probably correct or close.
I'll try to explain it a bit; but Gerard Way (the singer) explained it as: "I’d like to think that when you die death comes for you however you want, and I feel that it’s your strongest memory-either from childhood or adulthood.". It's supposedly written after people close to him died from cancer (supposedly his grandmother, but someone else I believe). So the "patient" in the video is him dying and remembering himself as a young kid when his father took him to a parade, but since it's about death (especially from cancer) the black creeps in anyway because it can't be ignored or forgotten as death is horrible (of course). I could be wrong, but that last part is my assessment. The whole album deals with the subject of death as the Way brothers (singer: Gerard and bassist: Mikey) have had their fair share and one of the ways they deal with it is through their art. Not that they are unique to this sort of suffering and pain (as we all know), but it was their personal way to deal with it and their journey.

And when you do Twenty One Pilots, you must understand the clique. There are diehard fans worldwide who will defend this band passionately to the death, even though this band is about mental health and living.
You ever listened to the opera song called Time To Say Goodbye by Andrea Bocelli. Tyler Joseph did a fast rap version of this song but because of copyright issues, was never able to officially release this song. Trees is also a very early song from his career.
