You took the words right out of my mouth. I went from a canon rebel XSi to a sony a7ii after watching the camerastore review of it, but after seeing this video I knew I had to switch to the a7iii and I never looked back. Glad to see other people going through the same experience/revelation lol

My thoughts exactly. The grading, framing, audio, tripod & gimbal use - everything feels really on-point. Even the scripting feels better-paced and more on topic, but there's still humor. I sincerely hope every video hits this level of polish.

A like from me for not hiding the obviously shortcomings of the A7III. Sick of videos that just say that the A7III is a a7riii with 24mp instead of 42 and ignoring the worse screen/evf/sealing etc just because they want to get clicks on their affiliate links
1.) It's DPRers.
2.) It never ceases to amaze me that people just don't understand how folks like you thrive on being as unbiased as possible when producing a review. It's a sacred thing, to be able to produce content, whether reviews or tutorials, in which you can express your thoughts completely unrestricted. Oppositely, when someone is just flat-out pimping a product that they were given for free in exchange for review, (and that's the best-case scenario; it gets worse from there) ...then viewers can smell it from a mile away.
So, kudos to you guys for scoring this gig. I'm honestly jealous! Keep up the good (and entirely unbiasned) content.

Agreed, as a product reviewer myself, the number one thing that seems to be missing from most others' reviews is a sufficient amount of "alternative options" comparisons.
Most of the time, unfortunately, this is because either the reviewer simply hasn't had much experience with the full range of options, or they don't want to displease whoever "supported" the review.

Congrats guys! I’ve always been a fan of you both. There’s a reason DP brought you onboard so please maintain your style. Please do more lens reviews especially with the 3rd party developers like Tamron, sigma working to provide high quality more affordable alternatives to the big boys.

I don’t know why, but every now and then, I come back and watch this episode again. This video was one of the reasons I pulled the trigger an the a7iii in December 2018. 2.5 years later, I’m still very happy with the camera. Sure I’d love the extra resolution that the a7riv offers or the video features the a7siii has, but for an amateur, this is still plenty of camera and I imagine I’ll stick with it until the a7iv comes out and probably longer.
BTW, you guys rock. By far the best camera channel on UA-cam!

Very good. Maybe throw in a quick bit of science from the DPReview guys on some of the features of new cameras.
Some of us are fine with reading 10 page dissertations of how Back Side Illumination works and affects the sensor capabilities, but a quick 30 second run down of the basics would be helpful for many people. You could even have somebody at DPReview record it and edit it into the show.

ps: That screen where you compared +6 stops on four different cameras -- jaw dropping, very important insight. I had not realized how advanced the A7iii sensor is compared to my D750!

Congratulations Chris and Jordan, , I would like to hear more about how this change came about, did Dpreview ask you guys out of the blue ? please fill us in on some details, and is the Camera Store going to replace you guys and keep putting out videos ? and Please try to be the first to do a review of the New Tamron 28/75 f2.8 E mount, and maybe a comparison with the GM on an A7r lll, sharpness, contrast, focusing, resolving ability
Its something we've been working on for awhile. We certainly hope TCSTV will continue to flourish with the new hosts, Dave and Ev, at the helm. I desperately want to get my hands on the new Tamron 28-75. Very excited to see how it performs. So far there new line of lenses have been decent performers.

I’ve had my a7iii for a few weeks now paired with the Sony 24-105 f4. All I can say is wow. Entry level my a$$. Can’t wait for the mark 4.
I’ve learned to love the menu system. Especially since I’ve mapped my custom buttons to the menu items I always change

Please use your influence to get DPReview to use *ONE* master lens for ALL 35mm FF cameras (an Otus 85mm for instance), ONE for APS-C (an Otus 85mm for instance), and really, just ONE master lens per sensor format in general. The various lenses used by brand really screws up the consistency of the image comparisons- especially since it’s a SENSOR test. 🤢🤮 Great show guys!
I already did a timelapse video with my A7III. Just set it to 1 frame per sec.
These don't know shit about sony!
I like extremely slow shutter speeds and full 24MP images for my timelapses, neither of which is offered in the S&Q mode. The previous Sony Playmemories app was great, shame to see all that functionality go away.

I haven't tried it with my A7III yet but isn't there a Sony app for phones now that allow you to remotely control the camera including creating timelapses? Thought I saw that somewhere?

Just the ambient light from the storefronts. The GH5 is an amazing camera!
I have a question for you Jordan, I have a GH5 and A6300 already but I really want a A73 or GH5s . Which to you has less noise with more detail up to ISO 12800?
