Pantera month!! Yes! Truly fantastic musicians, they revolutionized metal in the 90s! They are in the middle of their US tribute tour with 2 of the surviving members as we speak, RIP Dime and Vinnie.
I just saw them in LA and Pantera basically skips over this song. They have a recording of this with Dimebag Darrell & Vinny Paul on the video screen as a tribute to them, but they cut the song short. My guess is Phil can no longer hit the high notes.
@@nitro_001newman2 i saw them in Hershey PA, noticed the same thing, im not sure he can get his voice smooth enough to do the calm clean parts anymore either, still a ton of talent but lifestyle takes its toll...

Domination (Live 1991) This Love, Revolution is my name, Floods, 5 Minutes alone , Shattered (underrated IMO), Hollow, This Love These songs I think are a good representation of the variety in Pantera's style
The unedited version of this song has so much more meat & grit, just saying. The opening vocals & guitars are such an amazing musical experience, the difference between the 2 is like night & day.
Pantera saved metal. When metal degraded to mostly poppy hair bands and kids were moving to grunge, Pantera pulled people back into metal. Sincerely, their influence on the genre cannot be underrated.
you're carefully glossing over the fact that pantera were a hair metal band for 10 years before phil came around and told them to just copy what Louisiana bands were doing
@@RafaelCDet I'm not glossing over anything. If they had stayed a hair band they wouldn't nearly be as successful, and we wouldn't have a lot of the sound we have today. The fact they became the Pantera we know from Cowboys from Hell is what saved metal. They were like St. Vinnie Paul on the Road to Damascus. Their eyes were opened and they became the apostles to non-poppy metal.
@@Nightwalk444 Sure, but death metal was very niche back then. I was listening to it, but I know most people weren't. Pantera were more mainstream metal like NWOBHM. NOW you have arrived. So good. It's the same band! I love this, them, and your reaction to this. You are becoming a really respectable metalhead!!!! Love It!!!
Cowboys From Hell, Domination, Hollow, I'm Broken, This Love, Revolution is My Name, Mouth for War, S-Note part 1&2, and many many more...definitely enough content for a full month! Haha
This was 2 years before Walk. Just listen to every song from their debut album Cowboys From Hell all the way through to Reinventing the Steel, you won't be disappointed. Best Metal band of all time. I saw them live about 8 times throughout the 90's and hung out with them back stage in Philly during their headline tour with Coal Chamber and Machine Head.
This is top 3 Pantera songs. Fantastic, magic, sad and emotional in way not expected. The solo is great, the duel of vocal and guitar at the end is amazing. Always loved this one since release of the album!

Cowboys From Hell This Love Hollow I'm Broken Shedding Skin Drag The Waters 13 Steps To Nowhere Hellbound Yesterday Don't Mean Sh*t Take Care
your aunt sounds cool! lol Yeah once upon a time Phil could sing, but between his change in vocal style and his hard life style, he blew out his voice. The album Power Metal really showcases how his voice used to be. We'll Meet Again is probably one of my favourite Pantera songs of all time. One of Dimebag's best solos too
You just getting started, I found your channel and loved your reaction. 3rd one back to back, you have a new subscriber! "Planet Caravan" is a cool cover you need to check out along with "I'm Broken".. Keep that energy up and i like the ending of your videos, really unique!
Great reaction and story how you got here!!! Thank your Ant or Aunt or Auntie depending on what part of the country anyone reading this is from!! She rocks!!
Pantera is known for one of greatest bands of all time for metal music. For me and for most people who play guitar, Dime is the best of all time, and for some he isnt, but he 100% changed the way you play. He was so unique, technique, sound, vibrato, legato EVERYTHING man. He came to rock and rocked like no other. You should do more Pantera like Hollow , Floods, This love... There you can really feal the lyrics and GUITAR aswell
Phil can't really do that anymore, and he didn't use that on any of the Pantera records after "Cowboys from Hell," but when he was still doing his Rob Halford thing, it was pretty impressive.
They were really fresh as a band with Phil on vocals for this album, Far Beyond Driven was much more evolved as they really harnessed their signature sound
Only problem with that music video is that the song is incomplete, it's missing the intro, the first verse and first "chorus". I can't advise you enough to watch or listen to the full version of this song
Good reaction the out-takes were hilarious ❤. I'm particularly partial to Drag the Waters. The Great Southern Trendkill is my favorite album as a whole. The suggestions for more Pantera over here are all good and I think that you will like them all. Pantera has a range over the years.
Your aunt has very good taste in music. Now can you do me a favor and do a rain dance for Dallas?! It's obliterated been over 40 days and 110 degrees. I barely leave the house!
Miss original line up rest in peace Dimebag and Vinnie the brothers I saw them 4 times in hey day incredible smoked weed with group 2003 used to do crowd control how met them back stage
Love the outfit. But what I love more is your analysis. You're very funny and that's why we tune in. You have a great personality and it's fun. So thank you for that!; Lawrenceville GA...
This is an amazing song, one of my favourites... but wow, I've never actually watched the music video before (never particularly into music videos, not seen many of my favourite bands'/songs' music videos), and it's actually kind of shocking to hear that the ENTIRE intro section has been cut. I guess it's to be expected with the state of music TV channels, but what a shame, because the intro to this song is *beautiful*. Do yourself a favour, Charis, and listen to the audio track for the song in your own time (should be 7mins & a couple seconds or so if it's not cut).
I was also going to point out that the entire intro to this song (probably a full minute give or take a few seconds) is omitted from the music video, which really cheats the listener. The album version is soooo much better.
I had no idea they had a video for this song. I loved this band for a really long time. This is what I would consider the best version of Metal. Yet with all things, sometimes its better not to know about the players in the band and enjoy the band for the music.. Then I hear Phil... Phil.. has issues..
I can tell your aunt is a badass lol Kudos 🤙 I think you would enjoy Danzig. He's got a dark blues/rock style with some powerful vocals. Going Down to Die is one of my favorites for sentimental reasons, but its also one of his more popular songs that hasn't been reacted to much. Love the energy 💥🐢💥
This is a nostalgic track for me. I don't think I've seen you catch any ***DIMMU BORGIR***. There's a live and a studio performance of ***Progenies of the Great Apocalypse***. The live version has female support vocals, and the music video version has male support. Both are pretty epic by all standards of metal.
I grew up in the same neighborhood, went to the same HIGH SCHOOL as Phil, he used to be in a band called RAZOR WHITE, in the 80's, he's a few years older, DEFINITELY COOLER THAN I EVER WAS😊😊😊

Darrel following Phils vocal runs with his guitar is just insane.
If you like this one, you gotta check out "Hollow" by Pantera.
That's a great one, nice mix of his soft singing voice and his guttural voice.

Phil the lead singer was awesome before his addiction took hold of him. Great song and album “Cowboys From Hell”
He's been awesome after his addiction too.
