I hope you all enjoy this video! It took me a while to edit this one solely because I didn’t want to officially end the journey. That being said though, I am so happy to finally say I have showed Addie Game of Thrones. This was years in the making, and to have been able to share it with all of you was such an incredible ride! This watch has ended, but we have so many more watches to go! Thank you guys for endlessly supporting the channel, I love you all 💙
It's been so fun watching your reactions! Thank you for all the work put into them!
This is so fkn sad guys 😢😭.....Can you guys just like start all over and pretend you never saw it 😢..what shall the people do now without their Lord and Lady????
Amazing reaction series! Loved every minute of it. Absolutely great job, Dan and Addie!
You guys need to choose another series now to react to. I suggest The Last Kingdom.
Been fun watching you guys.. 👍
Going to miss you guys. We all try to make sense of the last 3 episodes but there’s no sense in doing it. It just comes down to the bad writing. I still can’t process this ending
I think Jon will be happier living out his days beyond the Wall with the Free Folk than he would ever have been as king.
Well he is basically the King beyond the wall now.
You don’t know that
@@shootingreal5945 mance ryder’s will lives on with jon
I think Bran is getting killed and he will be forced to come back to investigate in Snow. Parallel on how Ned went down to investigate Jon Arryns death.
@@ironside7991 that would be atrocious
When Jon screams "children, little children burned!" and I hear the parallel of Maester Aemon's voice from Season 1 saying "the children, even the little children!". Or when Tyrion says "what about your sisters" and I hear Varys asking Ned "what of your daughter's life my lord"...it's those things that make me lowkey tear up. Lot of symbolism heavy moments. When Dany almost touches the throne. So close and yet so far! The BGM during that whole sequence is unnerving. The dull gray fatalistic imagery of the capital before and during the events of the throne room are as breathtaking as they are gloomy. And that Stark theme at the end...🥺
Been with yall from the first episode.. this is a sad day. Going to miss watching this show with the both of you.
When Tyrion says "sometimes duty is the death of love" flipping Master Aemon's line on its head, that was brilliant. Jon's situation was exactly like Ned's.When Varys said "What of your daughter's life my lord?", that was the parallel to when Tyrion reminded Jon of his sisters. Ned made the wrong choice & lost his head, Jon made the right one. It wasn't all just done for shock value, they did have a clear vision. Jon killing Dany in the throne room with all the ice and ashes is eerily picturesque. Straight out of a Renaissance romantic epic. They paid off Dany's vision of the destroyed Throne Room from season 2. They showed Bran's vision of dragon over King's Landing. King's Landing was gonna burn, no ifs & buts. Did you really think it was gonna be because of some gOoD GUys vs eViL qUeEn Godzilla vs Kong fight in a show that is all about nihilism? Dothraki loyalty ends with the death of the Khal. They're aimless savages after that. The Unsullied have no reason to fight the combined Kingdoms when they don't have a paymaster anymore. Jon can kill Dany "easily" as he is the only one who can get past the dragon. Jon sacrificing his crown is the story they've told all along, he is the anti-liberator, he is not blinded by his own righteousness & the worship of the masses. Who gets mad for a cringey Greyworm vs Jon Mortal Kombat 1-v-1 fight. For what? Just so honorable gOoD gUy Jon get a di-k measuring win? Dany proclaiming herself the freer of men women and children while standing on heaps of bodies of men women and children, as the ominous filming drive in the fact that this regime will be a tyranny far greater than the tyrant it has replaced, is uncannily relevant to current times. The speech is exactly the same speech Drogo gave in season 1. It's the same 'epic' speech Dany gave to the Dothraki in season 6. Kill the men in the iron suits. Tear down their stone houses. She's saying the exact same words and people pretend to be surprised like "she's gone evil". No, you're seeing the consequence of those words when acted out. Maybe you shouldn't blindly put your faith in demagogues in the first place. People even manage to act surprised that the Dothraki pillage, the Northmen commit atrocities! The reality is Dany was always gonna go off the rails without Jorah or Barristan to counsel her. This wasn't Dragon Lady Bad Overnight, there's about 15 different episodes of her counsels begging & pleading her not to commit mass slaughter. If that wasn't hint enough all there was left to do was to knock the self-denial out of the viewer with a frying pan. If you're mad that dUh gOoD gUys didn't get the chance to heroically vanquish dUh eViL qUeEn Cersei & give you a satisfying end, THEN GOOD. That's the point. Real wars rarely have satisfying desensitized endings. Casuals never cared about book loopholes. The real gut punch was they couldn't believe the show would have the audacity to make them feel stupid for putting their faiths in the hands of demagogic "liberators" & not being able to enjoy NPC mass slaughter as they're forced to feel bad for the likes of Jaime, who btw had the most righteous full-circle of his tragedy than any "goodies prevail" joyous ending would've done for his character in a show whose motto is "if you think this has a happy ending you haven't been paying attention"?Bet.
Brann knew how and where Jon would find happiness and simply gave him a nudge in the right direction. Plus, look at how the Wildlings look at him as he walks amongst them, he's a Rockstar
That's how I feel about it as well. He didn't want to be king of the whole realm, and I really think, "rightful heir" or not, HIS needs need to be respected (which a lot of viewers don't get). I believe he will help the Wildlings a lot and am genuinely curious about how his supposed sequel series about Jon will go.
No doubt, imo Jon got the happiest ending possible for his character (and I loved it). He gets to be free and live in the north in peace with his wildling brothers. A lot of people (these guys included) don't seem to get it that there is no longer a Night's Watch. He wasn't sentenced to anything, Bran set him free.
@@themourningstar338 That is why, if this Jon Snow sequel show turns out to be a thing, I'm so excited. I also want to see more Tormund and such!
True, and he even said to Tormond that he wished he was going with him back to the North instead of going to Kings Landing.
Well then bran is already not making good decisions as king lol. He could have done a lot of good work for the realm as the honorable man he is but nah he’s gonna go build a museum at the hole in the wall instead
I think everyone forgets that Greyworm was in charge of the LARGEST ARMY IN WESTEROS at the moment when Jon's fate was being decided. The North had been decimated. The Lannister Army had been obliterated. There was NOBODY to tell him "No" or fight a battle against the Unsullied and remaining Dothraki AND the Iron Fleet since Euron"s fleet was gone.
Guys, I fucking love your reactions. That's exactly what this show is all about. Yes, you can be angry at some things about the ending, the execution/writing wasn't perfect by any means, but the journey of that show was out of this world. There's no other tv show that will bring you on such an incredible rollercoaster. And the final season, with all its flaws, is still one of the most impressive piece of television ever made, production-wise. I think this is overall the greatest TV show ever made.
This story, this journey maybe ending but there are always more stories and with them, many more reactions. Thank you Dan and Addie for taking us all on this incredible ride and I wish you both good fortune for the reactions to come. ❤️🍻
I've watched every episode but this is my first time commenting. I just want to let you guys know how amazing it has been reliving Game of Thrones and seeing you watch all of my favorite scenes. I didn't have anyone to watch it with when it came out, so it makes me so happy to see others enjoying it. Thanks for all of the amazing content!
Thanks for the journey guys❤️ from Dan's facial expressions to Addie falling in and out of love with every character, it's been fabulous🙂 lots of love from Scotland💕
Thank You Addie and Dan for the opportunity to re-watch some of the best moments of this Amazing Show.
Addie... I hope to see you around in another terrific content.
#PeaceOut🙏
Since y’all finally finished The Lord Of The Rings, The Dark Knight Trilogy, and Game Of Thrones, I hope y’all will watch House Of The Dragon when it comes out on August 21st, and also y’all should watch Star Wars, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, The Godfather Trilogy, Gladiator, Vikings, Rome, The Tudors, Westworld, Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, The Crown, Stranger Things, The Mandolorian, Kingdom Of Heaven (Director’s Cut), and Inception
Thank you ❤️ I enjoyed watching every episode with you two. Can't wait to see what's next :)
Btw the writers were not given 6 episodes. HBO said they could of gone to 10 seasons, but the writers decided they only wanted 6
They wanted to do star wars and they were fired.
Can't blame Addie for feeling very underwhelmed! I can't blame her!
You two nailed it. I watched your reaction to all the episodes, and I enjoyed a lot. Thank you. I'd be very glad to watch reaction of you two on The Matrix, especially if Addie haven't watched it yet.
Been a great journey congrats. Addie was an excellent reactor for sure good choice.
You’re not wrong, Addie!!! The end of this Series was rushed and not well written. Dumb &Dumber show runners took the last 10 years of hard work and flushed it down the toilet.
anytime I’m feeling anxiety or anything and y’all post it really calms me down thank you so much. Help me more than you know ❤️
Late to the party but love reactions and love GOT so this was always going to be enjoyable but you two did this series in a way that was next level. Well done both! If your reactions on this were a TV show they would be Game of Thrones!!. Enough said and so my watch to your watch has ended!.
Amen to that. When I first watched Game of Thrones way after it was out and watched that first episode I became addicted.
Really enjoyed watching the entire series again with your reactions, commentaries and discussions - thank you, Dan and Addie!
Game of thrones, where the starks live happily ever after and every other character suffers for it. Could have been something so great but D&D...
Its been a journey and so fun to watch addies reactions
well... last episode... Dan managed to make me tear up because he was crying like a little girl :)
Thanks to Addie. Her reactions were all excellent. And watching somebody so pretty for the entire show was a real pleasure.
Thanks Dan. Great work.
Dan your comments on the writing vs. the acting was spot on. I couldn't agree more about Tyrion and the scene.
"The only way to keep your people loyal is to make certain they fear you more than they do the enemy."
"I will remember, Your Grace," said Sansa, though she had always heard that love was a surer route to the people's loyalty than fear. If I am ever a queen, I'll make them love me."
"Once, she had loved Prince Joffrey with all her heart, and admired and trusted his mother, the queen. They had repaid that love and trust with her father's head. Sansa would never make that mistake again."
Yes I do understand why Sansa would be the last one standing instead of Dany and Cersei. It's interesting to see what GRRM will do since he said he's gonna go in a different direction from his old ideas, but ASOIAF has so many of these pointers on what the key difference between the three is. In the show Sansa's the one we see see actually ruling, meeting with the lords, taking care of the things that matter in every day life, like food, supplies, weather, etc. Undead Mountains and monstrous beasts inspire fear, not reverence. When you are being ruled by an iron fist, the cycle of revolt and suppression of revolt is inevitable. Your downfall is in your ruling philosophy. The third quote is also a good directional pointer on how an eventual Dany Sansa relationship can go in ASOIAF if you think of another impulsive ruler in the place of Joffrey; and that their clash in the show was never a forced one. It was a foregone conclusion forged by their experiences and temperaments and reflected a bigger clash of the two irreconcilable regions. I think the biggest shortcoming of this season is not being able to explore that conflict more than on a surface level.
Normie Brain : Snow is where Jon gets to go on adventures, do heroic stuff, save the world and this time get his just rewards.
r/Freefolk Brain : Snow is where Bran Sansa and Brienne gets hung, drawn and quartered to death. Undead Mannis declared the Supreme Ruler of the Intergalactic Universe.
'Glenn Close But No Cigar' Brain : This is finally going to be what was always meant to be that'll drive all sides nuts. The burning passionate whirlwind romance of Kit and Sophie. Lady Ashford's Suitors theory betches!! Jonsa For Life 😭
I dont even know where to start or what to say. First off thank you so much for making this a series and letting us follow this journey this has been my favourite series on UA-cam for the past year and I've really gotten to know you and Addie through these videos thank you so much she can officially say she's seen game of thrones its an earned title ❤ I swear to god you and Addie better watch house of the dragon I'm honestly so excited for the future of this channel I'll be sticking around
"I know a killer when I see one"--brilliant deduction there.
Oh its here!! Im so glad I found this to watch. Its been a pleasure! Thank you to both of you!!
Well, what can I say. It was a great pleasure to experience GoT back with you.
After GoT ended I wasn't really planning to watch it again, but when I found you two, I figured it was worth spending all those hours watching you react and comment on it. I don't really have words to explain it, it just felt like experiencing the show with friends.
I wish you two the best, and I'll see you in future videos :)
Something I really appreciate: Jaime Lannister is judged by all as the Kingslayer, Oathbreaker, a man without honor. First judged by Ned Stark. And at the end, the most honorable, Ned Stark-like character in the whole show does the same thing. I felt sad he didn’t get the recognition as a hero he deserved, but it would have been strange if he was honored for his act. In the end, he suffers the same fate as Jaime. A hero who does it not for glory or honor, but to save lives. Jon was my favorite, but he wouldn’t have lasted long as king. His story is tragic, but I think it was right.
I agree with the mindset of "If I look at this as they were only given 6 episodes and this is what they did, then it was well done"
The actors and directors and set designers and costume designers and everyone else did amazing. Except the writers, who chose not to give us enough time.
Just came to reiterate that I love everything about the last 2 episodes. The thematic splendor, the majestic visuals, the poignant Shakesperean tragedy, everything from the Hound and the Mountain in a flaming inferno, to the "terrible beauty" of the wintery throne room with Jon and Dany's melancholic Hamlet-esque ending, to Cersei being crushed by the weight of her empire, to the very weaknesses of Dany and Cersei being Sansa's strength as foreshadowed by GRRM all over the books, I love EVERYTHING. The depressingly grim wintery monochrome that is what's left of the once majestic red keep & the throne room has an otherworldly spectral beauty & is the ONLY truly fitting backdrop for a Dany & Jon KL. . Yes GRRM's gonna have a different ending now due to the reception. But these were his plans that he himself said he had mapped out for decades. If you think he didn't have inputs in the fate of every main character I got a bridge to sell. The ending is far better than any predictable goofy tropey nonsense revenge fantasy cringe bullshit like Arya wearing Jaime's face (YUCK) to kill Cersei, or Dany dying in childbirth or the Disneyest Disney sappy happy fanfic of them all : the show ending with a Jonerys wedding. That stuff would've made for great television, but Dany's unchecked revolutionary zeal mixed with her authoritarianism was always meant to be her undoing and Cersei being crushed by the weight of her own dynasty is a much fitting Mcbethean end for an proud and unbowed Queen "Bloody" Mary I type character than her begging and grovelling. Jon was always a free-folk at heart, his entire arc was about voluntarily giving up power to be a better person. Because there are no "Good Tsars", he is the anti-Dany. The show from the very beginning has been hammering in the point that it's futile to put your hopes on 'good monarchs' and 'good saviors', as " power without accountability can never truly liberate ".If you were watching this for a Targaryen Jon vs Final Boss Night King epic, you Haven't Been Paying Attention. People just needed that hashtag teamgoodguys chopping off some hahstag teambadguys heads and doing cartwheels on top of the throne while they cheer over pizza and wings like a superbowl sunday. People love a sanitized, romanticized war and HATE when they don't have a clearly defined side to root for. I want Stannis to kill Joffrey, but Tyrion to live. Why can't the High Sparrow die but Margaery somehow survive. Love Dany burning the Lannisters but why does Jaime and Bronn have to be there. Why did Robert kill the children. People abhor the pangs of conscience they feel for Tyrion and Jaime instead of being able to mindlessly cheer for a sanitized war (what a heart wrenching scene btw, if that was in the books they would've said it's the greatest thing ever). Those situations of amiguous loyalties that cut through houses and put brothers against brothers (like the War of the Roses, who wuda thunk!) really frustrate fans. Why can't all the good guys be on the same side?!I'm waiting for the Valonqar! It happens, Cersei did die staring at Jaime's eyes, his arms around her neck, just not the way people expected and that makes them mad. 90% of the rage, disappointment didn't happen cause of book plotholes and niche ASOIAF reddit theories like Azor Azoi.Regular viewers don't know or care.To them it all boiled down to Dany or Jon not getting a happy ending. Fans had already written the story in their heads, so when they didn't get the fanservice they're so used to getting, they couldn't believe it. Never seen so many so infuriated by someone doing what they've been doing for 7 seasons: ruthlessly kill those who stood in her way as she believed in "the end justifying the means".The real mistake the show made was that it got too big for its own good to pull off a bittersweet tragedy. Outcome was too similar to the actual anti-climax ending of the War of the Roses with York and Lancaster united in marriage, and not enough Troy or Gladiator in it. Big mistake. It's like reading a chapter of Sophocles to your Labrador.
people complain about Jaime's redemption, as if real people are only good or bad, no gray area, character arcs always have to be linear in progression, & any conflicting duality is incomprehensible. Yeah Jaime burned Cersei's letter in a A Feast For Crows. Doesn't mean he's not going to be drawn back to her later. In the show, him misleading Brienne and going back to the "familiar, abusive relationship" happens all the time in real life. There's literally a syndrome named after this emotional psychology, but sure they made the eternal sin of not giving Jaime a color coded hashtag TeamGoodGuy jersey. Anything a little more complicated than a class-bully-to-Gandhi trope transformation blows the viewer's mind. But most importantly, fans overlook the fact that Jaime's entire arc isn't about becoming a "good guy", it's him redeeming his "kingslayer" legacy, which he does, by becoming the "queen protector" . Jaime's character is written from the start as the misunderstood tragic antihero, so it's fitting that he dies exactly like one. They were always meant to die together. He said "nothing else matters, only us" at the very beginning and he kept that promise at the very end. I'm sure viewers would've loved those Avengers Assemble heroic-revenge-fantasy reddit theories of Jaime choking out Cersei or Arya becoming faceless Jaime and finally avenging Ned, it would've made for great television that fans could cheer to, it would've also been Disney cringe nonsense. If Jaime is a 'changed man', what sense does it even make for him to kill his sister at her weakest moment? Protecting Cersei IS the most selfles, 'good guy' thing he could do. As for Cersei, what else would you have prefered? Death by dragonfire? Begging and pleading at Dany's feet? That stuff would be real nice Disney good-vs-evil morality play and totally antithetical to what the show has always been. Her dying crushed by the weight of her own dynasty, a dynasty which Tywin said was to last a thousand years, is a way more fitting end for a "Bloody" Mary I type character, very much like a Macbethean ending. The Valonqar did happen , Cersei dies with Jaime's eyes and arms around her, just not the way people thought, and that makes them mad. If you really think GRRM didn't have input on the ultimate fate of every main character, I got a giant bridge at the new jersey turn like that I can sell you for a cheap price.
GRMM didn't have this ending so don't come away with that nonsense D&D ruined the show as soon as they ran out of book material because they are poor writers
@@reidger7778 Why are you posting this NPC shit in a 3 year old comment? Do you think you're making some huge revelation? D&D didn't ruin shit. This is GRRM's ending. Which is why he is stuck re-writing the books after seeing the reception & it's been 15 years & he can't come up with anything else. These NPC Dany stans are insufferable.

Yeah Jon being honored and hoisted above everyone's shoulders for being the only one to do the right thing sounds very rewarding for the viewer and completely at odds with the MO of what Game of Thrones has always been. I like that he was exiled for doing the right thing. I like that 'if you're looking for justice you came to the wrong place'. I like that they stuck to their guns instead letting fans write the show like inmates running the asylum. You want Jon Snow or Dany to be king and queen? Watch literally any other show for that.
Dani kills everyone in the city
Arya: "I know a killer when I see it"
Those heightened senses
The Starks are in charge of Westeros. Bran is king in the south, Sansa is queen of the north, and Jon is king beyond the wall
Thank you for this journey with yall.. enjoyed it all. When this show ended, it literally felt like a loss. Think I was depressed feeling for months. Just missing the characters I spent with for 10 years.
I actually love you guys and I have been here this whole journey. Also that little joke u make “it’s a comfort to know” 😆stoppp I love rent Addie hit tht angel line
@Derek Arnold Fortunately, we can now rewatch the entire show with them whenever we want :)
Jon’s reward is his getting to be “The King of The North!” …..The Real North beyond the Wall, where a gift awaits him courtesy of the Lord of Light……Ygritte. 🧟♀️💕🤴🏻
Big shout out to Dan... your editing and overall hosting was perfect. Well done. For Addie, it's been a pleasure reliving this amazing show with you. You had some very keen insights. I look forward to watching you two together in other shows. Well done guys. 👏
Jon Snow had his happy ending in real life with Kit Harington marrying Rose Leslie (Ygritte). 💑 And they have a boy. 👪
You two should just watch "Dark" together next, that way the journey continues and you'll learn how cinematography and writing can be even better than on GoT - hard to believe, I know... ;)
No matter what, thanks for all the great reactions!
Probably ruining my YT reputation with this comment, but it's still worth it if you are even considering it.... 😂
"i KnOw A kIlLeR wHeN i SeE oNe"
What a ride you two gave us. Little did I know when you started that I would enjoy watching you two as much as I did. When I started watching your reactions to the show, I thought you guys were ok but nothing that special. But quickly you two grew into a must see event. I loved how consistent you were with the reactions and how Addie quickly grew from side kick to costar. It was a lot of fun watching Dan give us his knowing looks when Addie said something that well, was very interesting to those who know the show. I also loved how even though Dan has already seen the show, apparently several times, he would always act like he had never seen what was happening and would have the same boyish enthusiasm for it as a first time viewer. And equally as fun was watching the tough minded Addie melt when something emotional would happen. It seemed she often tried so hard not to show emotions which made it even better when she did. And best of all was just watching two friends enjoy their company and share an experience with each other.
Hope to see you two again for reactions to the new series alter this year. Thanks you guys for bringing many moments of entertainment to my computer!
CHEERS!!!!!!
'What a great 20 minutes'
probably the first time I've ever heard this said about anything that happened in this episode.
Daniella croaking was glorious. Only thing that could've made it better is if Jon goodified Drogon too. I would've paid extra to see that hellbeast squeal.
BRAVO GUYS!!! Enjoyed this journey so much with you guys and loved hearing your discussions at the end of every episode. Nights Watch 4 Lyfe!!!
I binged everything up to this season, actually had to wait for the new videos and I loved it! 👀
This for "The Expanse" would be interesting and funny. 👌😊
To be honest, they did Edmure dirty, he was the one to marry Walder Frey's daughter because Robb didn't and ended up being tortured.
Can't wait for Snow it's gonna be Jon and Ghost's Adventures in the Lands of Forever Winter!!
😭 can't believe it's over!
THANK YOU! 🤩🤩🥂
Keep up the amazing work! 🏆🏆#houseofdragons 🔥 🐲
One not so fun fact is that Naath is home to a species of poisonous butterfly that the locals are immune to, but foreigners die from. So Grey Worm is leading his men to their graves, pretty much.
I really like the last 3 episodes in season 4, so many big things happen. From the trial by combat, battle at castle black, Tywin gets killed in the privy...
this is very sad. Love you're chemestry and gonna miss these reactions! Hope you'll find a new blockbuster show to watch together, with the rest of us, enjoying watching you guys :)
It was a hell of a ride you two. Glad Addie enjoyed the ending. If yall are trying to come up with other stuff to watch while we're waiting for the prequel and LOTR shows I think yall would really get a kick out of "The Boys" if you haven't seen it yet.
What a wonderful rollercoaster ride. Thank you!
It's been a pleasure Addy, it truly has been amazing rewatching the show through your guys reaction... So much fun...!!!
My favorite reaction channel! My thoughts, Jon never wanted to rule. I think Bran and Tyrion knew he would be happier being in the north. Tormund even said Jon belonged in the North. But Bran and Tyrion pretty much played Greyworm on this deal, making him believe this was a true "punishment" when in all actuality Jon would be happier this way. I Really enjoyed the journey you two took on this.
Thx, Dan and Addie! (sniff, sniff) Enjoyed you both so much & glad you'll have more adventures together to share with us...🥰
I like how Dan clearly liked it and she didn't but Dan's oblivious to her feelings.
I wouldn't say I "hate" the final seasons, however it's pretty obvious that the level of care and passion that carried the earlier seasons was lost and because of that it feels like there were almost entirely different writers during the second half of the show and especially the later seasons.
Y'all are not looking at it right. You forget, it was BRANS decision to send him to the knights watch. Bran sees the future, he always knew this would happen. You look at it as punishment, maybe it was what John wanted and Bran knew that! And he was suppose to be in the Nights Watch, he left the watch on his own and went with the wildlings. Bran knew he would do that also. Bran knew he would be King, he said that's why he came all this way.
wasn't expecting Dan to cry
Really happy and sad day at the same time, saw every reaction to GOT and loved the journey. Hot Take i loved season 8 and the finale :D
I think its safe to say that we would all love to watch you guys share some other series. Lots of great shows to experience.
I don't see it as Jon being punished.
Bran sent him home. There is no more Night's Watch, so he basically sent him to the only place he ever felt happy.
You have to remember that The Unsullies now controlled the region and they numbered in the thousands. Also, their combat skills are exemplary. And they wanted justice for their Queen. If they gave the throne to Jon it would bring war again. Here is the kicker Bran The Borken can see the past, the now, and the future. It is possible that he knew sending Jon to the Wall would actually set him free. Jon has never wanted to be a leader all he has ever wanted was to be at peace. This ending gave everyone a new start.
Omg I hate this is over, it’s been a journey, thank you for the great content, looking forward to house of the dragon
I didn't have that much of an issue with where the characters ended up. I thought some of it was poetic even if it wasn't the most satisfying outcomes. We'll see what Snow has in store for us.
The saddest part about greyworm in this scenario? The island of naath is a wonderful place for those indigenous to it, it's a poisonous land for foreigners. Greyworm sailing to his death essentially.
I think Jon & Sansa had the saddest endings. When the show started, they were the two who wanted to leave home the most. So I loved that they were reunited first and took back their home. Now they’re both away from their family. Sansa may be queen but she’s all alone in Winterfell. Her family is gone and her shield (Brienne) is in Kings Landing. All she wanted was her family to be together and safe. I think she’s extremely lonely and being queen will only emphasize that more.
Yes! I wish Jon could’ve gone back to Winterfell, though in my mind, he eventually ends up back there anyway to rule (or whatever the hell he wants to do) alongside Sansa.
Ps Dan your poker face this whole time has been incredible. Thank you both hope you do House of the Dragon together.
Dan man, your face! Priceless!
Jaime sat alone at the table while the shadows crept across the room. As dusk began to settle, he lit a candle and opened the White Book to his own page. Quill and ink he found in a drawer. Beneath the last line Ser Barristan had entered, he wrote in an awkward hand that might have done credit to a six-year-old being taught his first letters by a maester:
*Defeated in the Whispering Wood by the Young Wolf Robb Stark during the War of the Five Kings. Held captive at Riverrun and ransomed for a promise unfulfilled. Captured again by the Brave Companions, and maimed at the word of Vargo Hoat their captain, losing his sword hand to the blade of Zollo the Fat. Returned safely to King's Landing by Brienne, the Maid of Tarth.*
When he was done, more than three-quarters of his page still remained to be filled between the gold lion on the crimson shield on top and the blank white shield at the bottom. Ser Gerold Hightower had begun his history, and Ser Barristan Selmy had continued it, but the rest Jaime Lannister would need to write for himself. He could write whatever he chose, henceforth.
Whatever he chose . . .
A Storm of Swords, George R.R. Martin
You keep saying "He does not deserve this", but it is exactly what Jon Snow (Egon Targaryen) wanted. As Tormand said to him 'You belong in the North. The real north." Jon goes north. Arya goes exploring off the edge of the maps. Sansa rules the northern kingdom. Tyrion is hand of the King. If you really look at it, everyone (who lived) is getting exactly what they really want (except Edmure Tully who wanted to be king).
People like to say that Drogon melted the throne as revenge because Dany was killed by something pointy, but Dragons are a lot smarter than that. He knew there was no more need for a throne but in it's place there was need for a wheelchair ramp.
I don't feel like Jon got the shaft in the story. He was way too honorable to be a politician. He's with friends he can trust, and will live a good long life.
Good thing drogon understood metaphors or jon woulda been a crispy critter. RIP Dany you deserved so much better.
Its been quite a journey with you both. I’m sad it’s over but I’m excited for wherever you guys go from here
You guys are totally gonna do House of the Dragon. I’ll see you next month. 🐉
It was a great ending, Dan was still in tears at end, it's not ur show, it's not ur story, I loved this ending, starks did well
I get that you guys are thanking G.R.R. Martin for the series as a whole.. But I promise you, he had nothing to do with this ending lmao
I've watched you both since the first episode of season 1. Thank you for an amazing rewatch. I shared laughs and tears through this emotional rollercoaster of a show. It's a sad day now that it is over but I'm looking forward to new reactions in the future 💕
Bran sent Jon north because there is no Night's Watch anymore. They were the first line of defence against the Dead. Jon never wanted to move South, had no wish to be King of anywhere. Bran was fully aware that once Jon was north, out of the sight of anyone who would do him harm, he would be truly free with the Free Folk (and Ghost). That is not a punishment.
Found this channel 4 episodes into the first season and been following ever since. What a journey.
I think if they stretched the story out with 10 episodes I would have been completely fine.
I’ve been here from the beginning and I’m actually getting goose bumps omg where is my vodka… I luv ya guys all the way from New Zealand with all the hobbits and elves ❤️❤️❤️
I think it's interesting how John becomes the new King Beyond the Wall - he is now Mansraider.
The Jon situation is crappy. The Starks sold out their bastard brother so they could rule the 7 kingdoms.
The reason they weren't trying to exclude Greyworm is that he had a powerful enough army to kill them all. He has a seat at the table because it's dangerous not to give him one.
I'm in total agreement with you Addie about this episode. Also, Greyworm had just committed countless murders and he gets to condemn Jon? he should've been executed or exiled to the wall, Jon did so much less in comparison, by stopping a murderous tyrant. One thing I noticed watching the episode this time... when Brienne is writing up the Kingsguards Book, it STILL says that Tyrion killed Joffrey.... surely that should have been amended, all they had to do to discover the truth was ask Bran!
I agree with the sentiment... But Greyworm still is the head of the largest army in Westeros. And controls the capital. So he kinda gets to make the rules until he leaves.
@@jbryan8864 His army has the swords yes but not the arrows, if they fought, Jon's army would have won quite easily
I found it poetic that Jon and Jamie are polar opposites in so many ways but they both choose to kill their monarch for duty.
I think people need to differentiate between the ending they wanted and the ending that is actually what's best for the people of Westeros. It's just a hard pill to swallow because they made Bran such a flat character who at one point says he can't be Lord of anything because he's the three eyed Raven but when it suits him he's Brandon Stark again. Loved your reactions guys sad end to a great journey 👍👍
There is no institution that is "The Wall" anymore. The place looked deserted. They went to repopulate the NORTH north. Jon's happy. I'm happy. 🎉
I suppose we'll find out what Jon is up to beyond the wall after all. Cheers to the best GoT reactors I've watched! Thanks for letting us in on this journey!
Well my plans for the next hour have definitely changed.
I just wish we got like 3 episodes of Dany turning bad. Maybe she accidentally killed some people in kings landing looking for Cersei, but she got away and/or died in rubble like she did. She tries to rule kings landing, but it's another Harpy situation and regular people end up killing Missandei instead of the idiotic scene from the other episode. Then she has a conversation with Jon about burning the city, and it mirrors Jaime and the mad king where Jon is forced to kill her. THAT would be amazing.
You got 66 episode of her turning bad. You just didn't pay attention
@@briez9648 LOL. Ive seen the show like 3 times all the way thru and read all but the last book. Ive paid attention. Killing slavers or enemies that wont bend the knee is one thing (something that many "good" leaders have to do sometimes), but scorching tens of thousands of civilians need more than one scene of bells. But good try.
@@mathmexican4234 maybe open your eyes on the next watch. Nice try tho.
@@briez9648 LOL. ok. I will look for her ruthless women and children murder tendencies shining thru the early seasons on my next watch. Just for you.
It wouldn't have worked. They only had so many episodes and budget and DnD was trying to rush this.
S8 was always going to be a rush job.
Thank you Dan and Addie for such a great reaction series.
Dany's death still gets me no matter how many times I've seen it. Her death makes sense and especially Jon being the one to kill her. All the Stark kids saying goodbye hits you right in the heart too, the fact that it's a genuine goodbye for the cast really shows. Although, I still hate Bran being King and Jon being sent to the wall.
Well ya guys did it. Been loving the reactions, welcome to the end.
