Incredibly well put together video. A lot of people also think that the idea of friendship is corny or inherently inferior to more complex themes but it's all about how it's written. Alabasta is inherently more complex and given much more depth than any of those other try-hard edgy anime that like to superficially wax philosophical without actually exploring those ideas in a nuanced way. Thats why One Piece stands head and shoulders above the majority of anime/manga.
Mr Morj won't give us an Alabasta analysis but this definitely makes up for it. And the bit about Zoro was much more simple and to the point than Craftdwarf's original analysis. Again, seriously well done man.
Loved this analysis. Though I find it curious that in miss Golden week's cover story, she does set on a rescue mission and manages to save most top baroque works members, and even set up a café together, showing how they also are different from Croco's distrustful nature
I remember when I first found and watched some of your videos you seemed to stutter more and noticeably were not used to speaking for UA-cam-reading a script. Now watching your videos in the past year, your speech is more fluid and you are adept at it. I have always loved the themes of your videos (with your delve into the theme of true masculinity). Proving there is much more to talk about than the latest chapters and the next arc. So many themes under appreciated in this wonderful series. I wonder if zoros theme of friendship with the crew could be carrierd through too his mihawk fight. While zoro stands stronger because of the friends he fought to protect along the way, mihawk is always someone painted as isolated and a lone wolf. The arc zoro has had of learning to value the crew above his dream sometimes probably will come into play.
