    Hi Shawn
    My comment is not relative to today's video but an oldie but goldie video of yesteryear.. I've been really struggling lately so I waded through your old videos "what to do when you lose your swing"
    Your old video was a life saver for my game. I played the whole round with only one swing thought -OUT OF THE WAY-OUT OF THE WAY !
    It slowed down my tempo and blocked out all other swing thoughts about positions, straight left arm etc etc.
    Shawn that video was 2015 but still valid 7 years later. Thanks for all you do.

    Can confirm this works. We all get told tee it high hit up blah blah blah. But I hit hardly any fairways. So I started working on a lower trajectory fairway finder and turned out I just hit it way better teed up low. Been trying to get attack angle hovering around 0. So far I’ve been hitting more fairways but the biggest thing is my misses haven’t been anywhere near as big. Less curve and more predictable. Also I went from 7.5 deg loft up to 10 which also had. A big impact. I’m not hitting had many out to 320+ but I’ll take 300-310 in the fairway over 320-330 in someone else’s fairway.

      When we went to the Mexico open, we saw the vast majority of players doing this; Kitayama, Champ, Finau, and because of today’s low spin tech, they were hitting nice low bullet runners that were the best in windy confitions.

    Just watching you consistently for about 2 months, off and on for the 2 and half years I’ve played. I’ve fixed my swing. I carry driver anywhere from 270-290, learned how to play 4 different shots with driver. Yesterday I hit 2 par 4s. I hit a 283 with a fade right over tree line on the left side. Then never hit the green on 18. It’s 305 uphill, hit the draw. Guy at the clubhouse said he’s only ever saw one other person hit it off the tee and the guy hit it with his wood

    Would a higher lofted driver, mine are 12+, help with this swing? I too have trouble creating that upward angle of attack but no problem with fairway woods off very low tee height. My miss is often a dead pull.

    Always thought there was too much emphasis put on teeing it high and off the front foot. I know for me I get way more compression doing it this way than the other. I think learning this would be more feasible for most amateur golfers also then the tee it high rule.

    Watched Mu and Savs LD comp yesterday. Both did amazingly well for being their first time. Mu hit some bombs and Sav accuracy was impeccable in that playoff. It’s too bad they don’t let some of these new comers introduce themselves on the stream but it was really impressive to watch some of those drives. I think they both have a shot at being highly competitive. Sav I think has a bit of a head start due to the smaller field but Mu was keeping up with a bunch of those guys. I liked seeing Mu set the intermediate point throwing the tee out in front of his drive. Great job y’all.

    I'll try this today. 1. Should I set up for a slight fade with the tee this low? 2. Am I trading carry for roll (which I have no issue with as long as I am on the fairway). 3. Hitting down on the ball can cause some wild mishits. As an amateur how can I train for a lower arc at the bottom of my swing please?

      @golflessons  2 роки тому

      fade is easier here but we are talking straight fades; see the stripes on my driver? Helps my students see the blur of club to see where the club is passing and where the bottom of the arc is; you want the bottom of the arc at the ball with driver, and just past the ball with everything else.

    I’ve always had more success with teeing it low in spite of every conventional teaching protocol saying tee it high.
    Two questions: I didn’t quite understand the concept of “use the ground as a training aid”.
    Also, what’s the purpose of ball in the middle of the stance vs opposite left heel?

    • @markpoppe8681
      @markpoppe8681 2 роки тому +1

      Hi Paulie. What I take from his comment about using the ground as an aid is if you're skimming the club along the ground you know you will hit the ball in the centre of the club face.
      In your second question he specifically says the club was in the centre of the stance, not the ball. So that puts the ball closer to the heel. Lately more instructors have been promoting teeing the ball high and closer to the big toe. If I do that I have a terrible slice.

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  2 роки тому +2

      club in the centre, not ball, and we are keeping the sole of the club along the ground like a stone skipping on water INSTEAD OF TRYING TO HIT AT THE BALL which would cause an angle of attack that is too steep and make the ball balloon up with spin!

    then have a right wrist bent at the top . At first when I attempted your style of swinging , with the understanding way you closed the clubface and realign the face with body , have appearance
    of a strong grip. I didn't pick up until this video that you have a straight right wrist . So both wrists on the back swing only cock up , neither should be bent , left could be a little cupped ?

    You won't believe this. I touched a golf club for the first time in 2016, at age 64. By setting the tee low, and the ball further closer to center than recommended, I was covering 240 yards as a beginner fairly consistently. But as I took more "correcting" golf lessons over 6 years, I found myself losing distance and control with the driver. About 2 months ago, in desperation, I went back to my beginner settings. Bingo...the magic returned. No more driver lessons for me.

    So no more tee it high and watch it fly?😁

      For sure! That will never stop! But for many, this is way more efficient and a shot you need to have in the bag! 👍😀

    Obviously tee height is personal to each individual, this might work out for some and not for all.

    Was this meant to be a joke? You never see the long drive guys tee it low for a reason.

      I think this video is on accuracy and not distance

      Hi Jay! for accuracy AND for hitting bullets in long drive! Mu used this in his 4th set and hit 340 into a 2 club wind!

    I do not like this video. It goes against everything I have ever learned.
