    ABOUT DANNY
    -----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On UA-cam and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If it's a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

Hi Danny, your last few lessons have really made a difference for me. Why? Because you’ve taken the basic elements of the swing and described them in a very understandable way that readily translates onto the practice range and course. Moreover, these latest lessons are congruent with all of your previous instructions. So helpful. Thank you and blessings.

    Hi Danny
My post is nothing to do with today’s video but a follow up to one a few weeks ago with your Leo and the towel drill leading to longer drives. Decided to try it out during my usual Wednesday game concentrating on high hands on the backswing and then whipping it down to the ball. I noticed three things:
I was hitting it further, consistently outdriving my playing partners and on one occasion by 30 yards. One of my partners, who plays off 4, wondered out loud if I’d been bodybuilding! On one hole my drive measured 255 yards. Now, given the cold air temps and the very soft fairways, that’s not bad for someone nearing 69 and stands at 5’4”. Think what I could do in summer temps with the fairways firm. My target must be 280+?
I was hitting the ball STRAIGHT! I believe with my previous ‘safe’ drives, I was getting ahead of the club maybe, leaving the clubhead behind me and therefore the face might be a bit open leading to a fade, a BIG fade or…..the gorse bushes!! I was actually hitting the ball down the left of the fairway this week probably because at address I was closing the clubface slightly to conteract the fade. So, the ball wasn’t going everywhere! The brain takes over and adjusts. I was just letting it go!
The ball flight was much higher, with the ball in the air for longer. Again, if I’m not getting ahead of the club I feel I must be hitting up on the ball much more leading to a better ball flight??
I have read posts from your subscribers who have got so excited at doing this or that on the course after following your video tips. I can now understand how they feel! It is SO exhilarating!
So, if any of your subscribers managed to read to the end of this post, please just give it a go, you’ll be amazed.
    Thanks Danny.
    Grahame

Combined this logic with Ernest Jones classic 1937 Golf Book "Swing the Clubhead". Went to the range at my club here in Scottsdale AZ and stroked 80 balls for the first time using this drill. Only 2 hard slices, maybe 8 fades and the rest straight or nice draw using irons, fairways and driver. I wish I had seen a video like this many years ago. Can build on this and slowly widen my stance with control and consistency. Smooth takeaway, staying on plane, keeping the feet closer eliminates body movements (any sways) .... makes a big difference.

I had forgotten how good this drill is. What I would add is for those practising to hit 5 balls normally and stick a marker down at the average of these FIRST. Then work progressively from slow and easy to progressively faster and progressively wider. Watching the ball get closer to the marker with shorter width and slower swings helps to reinforce that bad things in the swing are getting overcome. Nothing like having a target and then kicking its butt whilst learning - then hitting it sweeter and longer and straighter in progressive way. Thanks Danny, brilliant as usual!

Love these lessons and they definitely help. Something I get very confused with is the effortless not even trying swings going 250 yards. Been playing golf about 20 years and I'd say I've hit it over 250 less than 100 times and always in summer with wind helping etc. They just look like you're not even trying and yet it's obviously somehow generating speed most of us can't get near. Even with your legs together so presuming no real ground forces at work there. I'd be more than happy with 250 yards drives consistently and in play, I think for most amateur tees / golf courses it's more than enough. Basically I guess I'm jealous of those effortless 250 yard drives where you don't even have to try 😂

I appreciate most of your tips and drills. This one in particular is my favorite. One thing about this video, and it may be the camera angle, but the ball position between your feet appears to be exactly the same between driver and irons. I would like to see some sort of more definitive lines on the mat to see that ball position on the little toe for driver and middle of feet on irons.

This is in the top 5 best UA-cam golf tips for me, had to leave a comment. I found I would add way too much loft and spin to my driver that I was getting the same 240-50 carry as my 3 wood. I tried to super narrow stance, smooth swing approach and found it goes same distance but has a better lower flight and remarkably consistent in going straighter with a tighter dispersion. While I work on my driver - don't care how it looks on the course, this is 100% going to be how I will be driving it off the tee for the forseeable this coming season., I just can't get over how good this tip is - thank you Danny

Great video as usual Dan, I stuck my Driver away as fed up spraying it everywhere ! Had lesson in the week, I needed to get my arms straighter and softer grip, I had other way ‘round ! My coach said the straighter arms improves arc and gets posture taller. Swing was also too flat so got to get backswing higher and more vertical - check point arms swing under chin and but of club points at ball to target line halfway back. Over range tomorrow, and will implement what Lee, my coach has told me and build in your Driver arc / contact tips. All the best, Ken 😁👍

I will keep working on it as its simpler than any other solution to my "kill the legs" thought when I feel myself moving too much....now to rewatch the chipping lesson with Pete

Hi Danny, I sort of lost my swing a bit whilst the courses were closed here recently, this drill has been just amazing to get that feeling and tempo back and has really helped me reduce my pulled shots massively, thank you!

Danny I love your videos! Very easy to digest. I tried this on the driving range and I think I might just play like this - even with loss of distance it is straight and on the fairway. lol

I watched this video this morning and I am now on the range. I tried this and have hit 6 consecutive drives down the middle at a distance of around 240. Not only does it help your swing plane but because your feet are so close together you really can’t over swing or else you would fall over.
    Great tip.
First thing I thought of was this would be a smart thing to do off the first tee.

Long time lurker on your channel. Gonig to try this out today on the course! I hit my best yesterday of 97 but putting was letting me down on the temp greens. I always think far too much about my grip and swing pattern with driver but not really any other club. Recently fractured my left middle finger so can feel awkward with my left hand being the main grip.
Please don't ever stop these videos!!

yes Sam Snead used this approach to re center his swing mid round. this is something anyone can commit to on the course and I will try it when I get out there this spring. IF I get out there! so hard to find time. for now will try it in my living room with my dogs safely watching from behind the gate. thanks again, Danny!
20 minutes later. wow just tried this in living room and realized how much sway I had! will use this until sway is gone. one less thing to worry about. thanks danny

The instant I saw you swing driver with feet together... exaggerating how you would notice wobble, tilt, head coming up, falling over... WOW!
I don't hit anywhere near your head speed (79-89 mph me) I realized this has so much help to offer in one drill. I JUST CAME INSIDE..
By my second swing, slightly over more than a half backswing I nearly fell over!! 😅
I recorded myself for about 15 mins and it was obvious that I am bending my knees in a weird left to right motion as the club head come up during back swing, then right to left during downswing all off tempo, by the time my shoulders are on their way down fairway, I can see how much energy I'm wasting to try to get the clubhead back to it's position from address and thru, most of the time resulting in a massive slice! At 85 mph it's only carrying 155-160 yards!
ONCE IN 10 OR 20 ILL have a clean strike and its pushes it 195, 215 yards..
NOW ive SLOWED DOWN to what feels like pitching speed... yet my strike is cleaner and it's going on to 175+ yards (not far for big stick) BUT ITS ON THE FAIRWAY!! I am going to keep using this drill!!
    TYVM DANNY!!!

Danny, I am 10 handicap that has really been struggling with a consistent swing lately. After applying this feet together practice, a light bulb went off and my swing has vastly improved. I find if I take my practice swing with feet together and than hit the ball with a normal stance, the resulting swing is near perfect. Thanks for putting this video out there.
