We get that question often: “HOW DO I SLOW DOWN MY SWING” or “HOW DO I STOP RUSHING MY DOWNSWING?” And the answer is so much easier than you think! We are absolute gravity geniuses and through our natural self preserving central nervous system, we thrive when it comes to simple tasks with simple tools. The golf club is A SIMPLE TOOL as soon as you understand completely what the heck it was designed for; which is “Cutting grass along the ground” and “compressing golf balls towards targets comprised of flight plans. Enjoy!

I had one of those "light bulb moments" watching this. Picked up my wedge and started letting the weight of the club determine my tempo and feel. Wow is all I can say. I will practice this diligently until it becomes second nature. Thank you Shawn for a great lesson!
Right on! 😀👍
I always use a swing feel of one of those Pirate Ships at the Fair that seems to Pause at the Top and you literally come out of your set until the massive momentum pulls you back down
Awesome group. You are absolutely correct, what a beast............ And you know that young man is not so bad either.......... Great videos. Many thanks.
Thank you Michael! Mu is now top 40 in World Long Drive with a PB of 397 yards this year and Sav decided to join and made 4 top 8 finishes with a PB of 327 yards!
I would explain the pause as a "hang" in the air.

Question: Is it possible that Munashe’s extended left index finger, is contributing to difficulty in “releasing” the club?
I would say not really, if you look at John Daly, his index is double stretched compared to Munashe’s; and when he gets the proper grip size, after all this craziness is over, it will adjust a little better as it will have something to wrap around. In the meantime, Munashe is improving leaps and bounds and will be shooting below 95 this year.
One of the best swing tips I've seen on UA-cam!
this channel is spot on with releasing the weight of the club past impact. nothing but praise for translating that "feel" through great examples and reasoning.
.
however, it seems that the same logic is overlooked in explaining swing speed. savannah did clue at it @6:19, "levitation." personally, it feels like a "bounce" or a "flex," where the change of speed and direction at the moment from backswing to downswing is FELT by the weight of the golf club (weight of club and hands; versus club and arms at downswing). the difference in focus is subtle, but i think being able to feel this weight at the top of the backswing defines a player's tempo (understanding the dominance relationship between player and club). if the swing is actually too fast for the player then the "flex" won't be felt. it will be stiff in the hands, like a jerk - this is what makes the viewer perceive that the player's swing is too fast. therefore, the more experienced player has access to a faster swing because he/she still feels the "flex" even at a greater swing speed.
.
just mentioning in passing, because it seemed like the exceptional release philosophy of this channel could be applied AS MUCH in the backswing. the transition moment from backswing to downswing of all three players feel a bit static - like a stall. possibly, the calm before a storm? (storm being the downswing impact). however, if the objective is to release the weight of a golf club through the downswing, perhaps maximizing this weight is of great interest?
.
i like golf a lot
Love to watch Savannah swing with effortlessly power.
For sure!😀👍
She shows that "ideal" fundamentals are just not that important when compared to nice free swing dynamics and rhythm, nice.
Why is Mu setup with his left shoulder low with a 7 iron, just like I would with a driver?
This is essential to delivering towards a target! If you are a lumberjack, and you want to split wood, yes, shoulders are level to direct the energy straight down vertically through the wood; but if you were to chop a tree down, you need to direct the energy more horizontally, which means a different tilt of the body and shoulders follow that flow! This is the essence of golf, baseball, hockey, lacrosse etc…
See “hammer drill” and “tilt mile markers” on our premium channel at WISDOM IN GOLF PREMIUM.COM
Hi Shawn, does it help to have a heavier head to feel the club. I feel like this effortless swing is better for clubs where the head/shaft is doing the work sorta speak
It can; but too heavy is no good either!
The grip is way too strong, it makes the stance look awkward. Maybe its the only to go to gain 30 more yards without go to a weight room.
there is so much you don’t understand! go to any PGA tour event and you will see WAY MORE STRONG GRIPS than neutral ones;
-Hello insurance company? -Hammer through the roof again? -Yeah it's weird....
Its hard for me to visualize with lefty's. Wish we could get a different camera angle with righthanded players too.
STAY TO THE END OF THE VIDEO AND SEE ME DOING IT RIGHT HANDED!!
@@golflessons I love the lefty view and her strong grip. It's the main reason I watch, because I am both of those things.
welcome to the lefties world! just think of it as a mirror.
The two biggest swing killers are probably a hurried backswing (which leads to a rushed downswing) and having too tight of a grip (which leads to tension in the muscles). Feeling the weight of the clubhead and allowing it to do the work is crucial. That, combined with swinging THROUGH the ball (instead of at it) will lead to great results. The hammer drill is great to get people to understand both concepts.
Why don’t you get some people in that don’t know how to it hit a drive 250 plus yards and train them. That could be helpful to the average golfer.
I do this everyday!! Same results with everyone proportionate to their strength and fast twitch content.
@@golflessons I understand. It's easy to tell that Moe and Sav understand and know exactly what you want them to do and it takes very little effort for them to grove right in. The average golfer is struggling with what would be a Moe or Sav swing. Dragging an average golfer along would allow you to relay and demonstrate the progression and changes needed to develope a Moe or Sav swing for anyone. Starting with Grip,Stance,Swing,Target,Distance control,Lie angle,Sand, chiping, putting.
I do this with my wedges consistently beautiful, but I can't with my long sticks.
Open up the abandon! 2 ennemies to the swing; control and effort; remove those and keep the velocity by making full range of motion swings towards a target!
@@golflessons will do sir! 👍 I think I get it. Like in basketball when you shoot a jumper, the shooting arm has to be loose enough to feel it's weight upon release and follow through.
Her grip looks very strong. But if it works I suppose..
For her, it works a treat! 👍😀👌💪
This lesson killed my pull hook. But I had to refine my driver a little longer to get rid of the hook. But I never hit the ball more solid lately. Thank you!
Driver is a club that so many tend to strain with; and it is such a pleasure to play when the strain is very low and the momentum is flowing nicely in the direction we want to start the ball!
Could've used this lesson before walking 18 yesterday. Subscribed!!!
You are in for a fun ride! 😀👍
How many hammers does this man possess!?
Got to be hammer happy!!😝😀👍
Every time I swing like this ,I hit it well but pull it left as a right hander?????
Our perception is that at the top of the swing, the pendulum stops, then changes direction. But in actuality from a physics perspective, what really happens at that apex is the club is going infinite miles per hour in zero time! Think about that for a moment.
Going to the range tomorrow and will try to implement some of these techniques. Mainly, a stronger grip. Perhaps not as strong as the young lady in this video, but stronger than I normally do. Plus, I feel the clubhead more easily with a stronger grip, just not consistent.
The club impacts the ball with a force and that force has two components...
Velocity and Mass = momentum
You can swing it fast with only the arms(velocity) or swing it slower and use the weight of your body(mass). Mass trumps velocity...The trick is figuring how to do it and that is what everyone struggles with so they continue with what they know and never improve.
Went back and watched Mu again and it seems he's swinging to the finish
This is where your own kinetic chain comes in! We all have it and use it to throw a stone, hit a baseball, cut grass with a grass whip, slash a sword, sling a hockey puck, swing an axe...and we are awesome at it. When we perform one of these tasks in a brainless way, our machine will deliver the action at 40 Million bits of info per second and in a manner that is self preserving. To have to think about what body parts to use and in what sequence to use them while performing the movement would be complete insanity as this conscious process can only work at 40 bits per second and one thing at a time.
Shawn speaks like my best engineering professors did. He understands the physics and explains how to get in sync with them. And he's correct!
Wow, just noticed this comment Bob; thank you so much for that! 😀👍
@@golflessons you're very welcome.
Exactly!!
It is difficult for me to feel the weight of the arm club unit. The only thing I can isolate is the engagement of the biceps. Do you feel like your biceps are somehow diminished as part of holding on to the club? I'm sort of grasping here for why I don't feel the A/C unit with the golf club. Easy with hammers it is only the golf club where I don't sense it. same with feeling the weight pulling arm socket on longer clubs. Don't really sense that. any suggestions?
It just means that you are in control of the club and mot letting the club release you. See my “fencing for power shawn clement” and do that drill; you will feel how the weight of the sword will release your anatomy. Once you feel that, you can follow the bread crum trail back to address! 👍😀
2104 Her club face looks so open it is almost facing backwards.
That would be closed like Dustin Johnson and many more on tour!
Good sir, I love your videos and your swing thoughts and tips have helped my golf game immensely! The question I do have is, I understand you pick an intermediate target just in front of the ball and you line the club face up with that ..... but do you align your body/ feet with that same intermediate target or the flag stick? Thanks Shawn
See “why you can’t line up properly shawn clement” and “throw your club straight shawn clement” and then when you want to get into more detail, see our premium channel at www.wisdomingolfpremium.com and see “draw fine tuning” and “fade fine tuning” and see how the intermediate point saves your short game big time as well as when you want to use your driver with a diagonal stance in “great driver nugget” and “diagonal stance series” just like Hogan!
Very important subject for most of us! #alloverthegolf #subforgolf
I did this today. Have been struggling with driver. Bombed 4 drives about 300 and dead straight. Hit two poor and still went about 250 and only a little offline. Great tip
Right on Michael! Better bench marks and better misses! Perfect!!
Wish you were in the UK I'd love to have lessons with you
You're a genius at making intuitive understanding of the swing using these annalogies.
Wonderful teacher.
Thank you very much! 😀👍
Best explanation ever! Thank you one million times.!!
Love the hammers. Very vivid.
Marvellous video-and with such talented assistants! My notebook is filling up with great material to work on!
Both students really have their hands forward at address, This looks purposeful. If I do that I find it hard to square the club coming back. Can you explain the reasoning for this? Obviously working for them.
Once the grip club relationship is established dynamically, all you need to do is match the backswing to the direction you want to throw the club; see “how to match backswing to target shawn clement” and “throwing the club shawn clement” as well as “predict solid contact and direction shawn clement”. What people don’t realize, instructors included, is that the human anatomy is already built to keep everything in place when doing simple tasks.
Shawn I notice that your students set up with the handle almost in the center of their thighs, which makes the trail shoulder dip a lot more. Is that something you advise?
Oooohhhh baby, do I have a video for you that we just posted! Make sure you subscribe! See “most important video on grip ever shawn clement” and you will see why big time!
Excellent video, thanks! It's unbelievable just how huge an impact changing one's focus to a solid, hefty throw at the target can have. It's almost like magic. The mind is just unreal, isn't it?
Dude, it is the holy grail! Wait till you see the next few weeks on premium; we have some super validation coming from the scientific and neurologic communities to show us just how spot on our “operating system” is! 😀👍
We don't see that Sav super strong grip on LPGA.
They are out there! And you don’t see many hitting as far as Sav either BTW...
Shawn, you mentioned during her set-up that the club face was pointed slightly left of the tee that was embedded in the mat. Why not at the tee? I am a right-handed golfer should I be aimed slightly left of a point approximately 6 inches-1 foot in front of the ball? If so, does this apply to every club? The Driver? Thanks.
This is because she is hitting a draw; see “hit a honkin’ draw to hit the ball straight Shawn Clement” and “working the ball shawn clement”
I'm just wondering if you bought 3 hammers just for this video?
Ya never have too many hammers! ⚒🔨⚒🔨
This is my principal problem. My brain thinks I need to rush the club. It also thinks the golf ball is heavy so my muscles tense up into impact. So I'm killing the momentum of the club head and preventing the release of the club head. Even though I know that I'm perceiving it incorrectly, I can't seem to convince my brain to let my muscles relax through the swing. I can hit a light practice ball pretty nicely because my brain knows it's light and there is no need to tense up for impact, but once I'm looking down at a golf ball, by brain thinks there's no way this light club can create enough force to move that dense, heavy rock sitting on the ground without muscling it. I'm hoping this video can help me.
Go to “throwing the club shawn clement” and then see “predict perfect contact and direction shawn clement”
@@golflessons Thanks - Will check it out!
Shawn, a lot of great explanation on your swing methodology but a couple of questions. First how do you know if you grip has become too strong? Also when watching you swing a club you seem to have a very upright backswing as did your two students. Is my observation correct? If yes, I hear and see so much today about shallowing the downswing. Do you agree that the downswing should shallow and if so, how do you do that with such an upright swing? Also, is a slight pause at the top of the backswing a key ingredient of your swing methodology.
That is a lot of questions!! I have videos for all these though! 😝😀👍
See latest “square the club once and for all shawn clement” and then see “sledge hammer axe drill shawn clement” for both the swing plane and the pause!
Great videos! Lessons very well explained easy to follow, keep up the great job you all do. Thank you! Thank you!
Good Stuff Enrique! 😀👍
4:23 shows Sav with hands near front leg (hip). How much does this deloft the club? I guess it depends on which club. And, what videos can I watch in premium that discusses this set up? Thx.
Hey Dan! We will have a couple nice videos coming on youtube to discuss this set-up; it is more brilliant than we previously thought! The video on premium to plant the seed (and keep as a mainstay for task) is the “hammer drill” video.
Think of how forward The hands will be with a hammer in them when getting ready to deliver horizontally through the door frame!! Exciting stuff and so important!!!!
Shawn, when you are swinging do you have a more dominant feeling on either arm or are both of equal feeling. I ask this because it is hard to feel the weight if one of the arms are more dominant but easier if both are relaxed. I'm not talking about the body, just the arms.
See “wait for the weight shawn clement” and How to feel the weight of the arms and club in the golf swing shawn clement”
@@golflessons Thanks. Actually this one helped - ua-cam.com/video/Tr6fnKnNqNA/v-deo.html
You need to get shock absorbers for you camera!
Hi Shawn. If I try to only use the weight of the arm-club unit during the downswing, even with uncoiling, the swing speed is rather slow. Are there certain muscles we can/should engage to increase the swing speed?
There are several tasks you can practice to engage what you need; on our premium channel at www.wisdomingolfpremium.com (only $9.95 per month) you want to see the following:
-throw the club
-the throwing series
-lead hand release
-trail hand release
-release fine tuning
-snap release polish
-turbo charge lead hand and trail hand release
-kinetic chain facilitation series
-Shawn’s favourite drill
-target confirmation series (there is a bid diff between at the ball and through the ball)
-first video of “the consistency series”
-Most important video on grip
-pumping up the swing volume
Enjoy!!
Great stuff there!!!! How heavy is the long "Red Sledge Hammer"? I might have to go get one of those! Love the pendulum and momentum of swinging it!
Really a nice piece to swing! 34 to 36 inches is what it feels like; about the length of a putter
I've been told on numerous occasions that I swing way too hard and dont let the backswing finish. The inertia explanation with the sledgehammer gives a good starting point.
Let’s go! Time to work smart and not hard! 😀👍
Shawn great teaching, I am ashamed to say my swing has gotten too mechanical and positions and now my iron game is disgusting and embarrassing and I’m so frustrated that I’m scared to pull an iron out of my bag because I know what’s about to happen. I’m over the top, no lower body turn, and have just gotten paralyzed by the ball. Any suggestions, I’m really desperate to the point if I can’t get started back on the right track, I’m giving it up completely, thanks for listening to my rant. God bless.
Hi Greg! See “grass whip training shawn clement” get a grass whip, get good with it; which will take you about a week tops. Then plug that into the golf swing with the fake white dandelion. Really Really!
Hey Shawn, thanks for the tips! I do have a question though: Why do Moo and Sav have their ball position in the back of center in their stance? Maybe it's just the angle of the camera? I thought the ball should be front of center and move up.
Back of centre for draw-front of centre for fade
Watching Shawn and the guys swinging the club and facing away from the ball with back to the target suddenly made sense. I went to the range and hit seven iron, five iron distance, and five iron three iron distance. It's not the distance; it's the feel at impact which sets this heave and turn gravity swing apart. The sound is spectacular! I'm a fifty-three-year-old man, carrying five irons nearly 190 yards with crappy old range balls. Insane.
I also realised that taking this to the course is going to be a challenge because I have to let go of my ball fixation. I'm too square on and don't turn my shoulder or torso around enough to generate the kind of momentum Shawn does with this approach. Practice. Practice. Practice.
I've hit literally tens of thousands of golf balls this year: none as cleanly and far and today.
Hi Adam. Very impressive and it must be great fun!
May I ask what your club head speed with say 5 iron is? Does your new way of swinging affect speed or does better compression give more distance or a bit of both? Thanks Regards Ian
Hi Ian, I haven't measured club head speed, but I would estimate it's up 4-5 mph, but I'm crushing it so ball speed will be a more significant increase.
Her swing is starting to look better than yours Shawn. And Munashe's is coming along as well.
So glad you noticed! She will greatly surpass her teacher and nothing would make me happier! 👍😀
She is right handed and shots left
I always felt if we could take the hands out of the golf swing most people would hit much more solid consistent shots. Too many people try to generate all the power with their hands when the hands aren't driving the swing, just hanging on (obviously important, but not the most). I think you would agree since you did point out her grip is strong but did not try to change it, although I think she could improve it a little since she does not look too relaxed holding the club. For years I have had a tendency to get quick at the top of the swing and it's those hands trying to lead my swing. I love the sledge hammer! There's no way of throwing that thing from the top, it has to pick up speed going through. Last Summer I really focused on Eddie Merrin's 'swinging the handle' and my ball-striking has improved quite a bit. With that concept and it feeling like a sledge hammer I might be able to break 80 someday......
What is Munashe’s dominant hand when doing his backswing? Is it right or left hand dominant? Thanks!
Left hand dominant...
6:55 I believe the word you are looking for is dwell. The duration of time animation is suspended while momentum is canceled out by gravity.
I think my clubs are too light! :)
Definitely a possibility!
Munashe swing looking great too
Most people play right handed, and almost all your videos, tips are demonstrated by left handers! Which you could show both, to get the most from your lessons. Great coaching!
That’s why I do most demonstrations right handed! My coaching goes deep into 2007 on youtube; just search any golf subject and add my name and wisdom and you will see them right handed...😀👍
Use a mirror. I do this with Phill Michelson’s videos😊
Hi guys and girls i find if i close my eyes you can feel the weight of your arms and club. Great work...
Fantastic! Very happy you are able to see it! 👍😀
One H-U-G-E lesson. I really struggle with swinging too fast because I manipulate the club head to hit the ball(target), resulting in over the top, glancing contact despite all that effort. You asked Savannah, when she was pretending to hit a nail with a hammer, ""If you had to do this all day, how would you hit down? With force or with the weight of the hammer." So when I am taking my practice swing, I ask myself, "Could I swing all day with this effort." If the answer is "no", chances are that I am defaulting to the ball. Great job. In passing, however, can you ask Savannah to slice one, just once, so I don't feel "defective"? :)
Is Sav right or left handed?
Nice demonstration with the hammers and the heavy momentum idea - makes a lot of sense and something for me to work on with my swing - M's grip needs sorting that extended finger is going to let him down!
Thank you for the great comment and Mu’s Grip and extended index is still less intrusive than what John Daly’s was and will improve when he receives his bigger grips! 😀👍
Damn her grip is super strong
Please see “most important video on grip ever shawn clement” and you will see why!!
Have a question for your Daughter, does she find with her Strong Grip she is hitting down at the Low Point with Driver and Irons? Rushing my downswing and snapping my right shoulder causing me to go over the top...
You are NOT DEFECTIVE!! See “over the top shawn clement”
@@golflessons Thanks, Just an Old Timer trying to shoot in the seventies before I move on...
Shawn, at about 12 minutes in the video whilst coaching Moo you asked to close the club face more and ensure the club was bottoming at a point in front of the ball. Did Moo close the club face by adjusting his grip? And if so did he merely rotate the club more closed in the same grip? Or did he regroup with a stronger grip with more knuckles showing? In trying to close the club face or open the club face do you rotate the club and maintain the Sam grip or do you my the grip stronger or weaker?
Geoff
Don't ask a student a question, then answer it yourself. "What did you feel there", student umms and errs, so you say "Heavy momentum"?, he says yes........so false
After the 3rd hammer was tossed aside I was sure there couldn't possibly be anymore. Then 6:45 comes around. You have more hammers than golf clubs lying around 😂
Why are their back shoulders dipped so much? It looks like they’re setting up for a driver swing. Is there a reason for it?
Munashe may hit it long, but seems very "non-athletic" golf swing in my view. Propably because he is a tall guy with limited golf experience
@shawnclements... can you do a video on the way that Munashi (spelling) grips the club? i notice his index finger is way down on the grip. i am a lefty who is very far forward in my address and would love to hear what he does in his thought process there
Thanks!
Everyone says I need to slow my swing! Why do the pro players swing so fast?
Hey Robert! I have a secret to share with you...YOU ARE NOT DEFECTIVE!😝😝
All you need to have is a nice task and to perform the task with ease and velocity; like a nice attacking 2d serve in tennis. To ask someone to slow down is silly because you have an infinity of options which means you can’t lock in! But if I say here is an axe, there are the trees, and you need to cut them down fast enough but you need to last the day and get up tomorrow and do it again VS here is one tree, cut it down as fast as you can. Very different! When executing a shot, you want 3/10 in effort to produce 7/10 in speed and velocity.
I gotta tell you, your videos on throwing the club have transformed my swing. Thanks. Wish I could hit it as far as Savannah though 😎
It is fun to practice and work at it!
I’m trying to apply this principle to my chipping. Will this work?
@@bobmurphy3061 you bet! Our premium channel at www.wisdomingolfpremium.com has some amazing videos on chipping and they all relate to using the weight of the Arm-Club Unit to perform the task! It works even better with chipping actually!

Thank you for the vote of confidence! 👍👌😀
My teaching pro always says stop watching male tour players and watch the women as that is where we are more at!!!
Shawn, why do i have the impression that your head is bobbing up and down when you swing? i have the distinct impression that you are springning up and downn when you swing the club? i've never seen that kind of move any where else on this planet!!!lol!
Yes, that is what they are starting to teach many tour players finally; George Gankas, Lucas Wald, Mark Blackburn, and many more! I have been teaching this close to 15 years now. Watch a kid on a swing standing up to pump up the speed, of a kid on a skateboard pumping off the backside of his roller, then see skiers and a simple human walk! We are made for this and we are way more accurate with this. See “lower body in the backswing shawn clement” and “feet together and one leg update shawn clement” for starters; oldies but goodies are “create serious speed shawn clement” and “horse shoes and lassos shawn clement” and one of the latest ones would be “ground forces shawnclement”
Rory MIlroy?
I think the hardest part is the timing between that transfer of weight to the front while having the dip that occurs during downswing. If you get that wrong the weight stays on your back foot too much.
Weight shift and hip clearance can be done so well and brainlessly when you have the right task; see “throwing the club shawn clement” and “throw the club straight shawn clement” then you need to be able to predict contact BASED ON THAT THROW so see “how to put the ball in the way of your swing shawn clement golf wrx”
And then you can go enjoy our premium channel at www.wisdomingolfpremium.com and really fine tune the machine mentally and physically to keep more of the good and discard the bad.
Ball position too far back in stance! Good lesson though! Thanks

Also, you need to check out our premium channel at www.wisdomingolfpremium.com where you will find my life’s work since 2012 all in dual camera footage and nicely laid out-working on that too! Over 40 hours with a video every week and it has a system where we can analyse your swing every month if you need extra help! Only 9.95 to 19.95 per month depending on the package.
@@golflessons That is brilliant to know Shawn and I wish you and the team best of luck. Wish I lived in Canada and could join you guys. May be we can support you or help financially? anyway of doing that? Also Shawn think of adding the Patron option to your UA-cam channel. I would certainly support you and even come out to Toronto at some point for a visit. :-)
@@2010Shahid thank you so very much for the support; will take the advice very seriously and get back to you! 😀👍
Unless you are measuring swing speed you have no idea what the pause at the top. is contributing to the power of the shot.
The leading hand grips look like they would be straining the forearm and elbow a lot on both of these people. None the less, great lesson
That is what one would think…see “most important video on grip ever” and you will see that when the body is reacting to the proper picture which is delivering the ball in the direction of the target and not have the ball as the target, the arms look different and have a different relationship with the face of the club.
@@golflessons will do! I'm excited to because that grip actually feels more natural for me, I just need everything else to follow suit
@@koleka3233 you can check out other titles such as “hammer through shawn clement” (an oldie but goodie) and “weak grip vs strong grip shawn clement golf wrx”
Our premium channel at www.wisdomingolfpremium.com has different series of videos to deepen that understanding starting with the “consistency series” which starts wig this grip and has 10 episodes to get you barking up the right tree! 😀👍
Matsuyama is the best ever at this. so precise on the PGA tour with this backswing
Clear, concise. A new way of thinking about the swing, particularly if you are having trouble holding on too long and not releasing. Thanks.
It's about the feeling that in your backswing that you can deliver the arm clubhead swing to the target1111
they have such strong grips haha
And super open stance
brilliant as ever! Maybe you can make a vid on the subject of head position during the swing. She is moving her head perfectly maybe as a byproduct of good posture. People like me stuggle with reverse pivot
See “head position and lag shawn clement” and “feel the braced tilt shawn clement” part 1-2-Oldies but goodies!
This chick should try speed skating.
move the ball forward and fix his grip he would be golden
Swinging the sledge hammer looks like it might be a good exercise to do daily...just to build up the muscles we use in the golf swing. I imagine golf clubs will soon start to feel a lot lighter after a month or so.
More hammers in this studio than in a carpenter's workshop!
I just can't the feel the weight, my hands and arms-grip-shaft-club head all feel like a big piece of sod. Tension is not my friend. Am I gripping too tight? should I use lighter shafts? put weight on the head w lead tape? (I hit my 8 iron about 150, but every swing feels like I am chopping down a tree)
see “how to feel the weight in your swing shawn clement”
this literally makes me think my golf clubs are way to light.. i am 6'1" and weigh 240 and can bench 345 and i can not let the club do the work. with the weight and the swing makes sense to me but i am not sure off the rack will do that for me.
Hey Mike! Yes, get either “Project X Riffle shafts at 125 grams minimum or “dynamic Golf X-100 or S-300 shafts at 130 Grams; nice heft on those; mine are also 1/2 inch long as I am 6-1 but can’t bench that…😝 also, have your wedges all the same length as the 9 iron.
Everything you teach is very different than other instruction but it makes so much sense. Also the proof is in the pudding( Sav & Mu). I’m very excited to get out and start practicing your lessons.
I'm a believer. Has helped me so much. I've eliminated the over the top/ casting , and really improved .
A very beneficial and well structured video. Thank you Shawn. I`ll be back.
