Answers to the super incredible questions asked throughout the video: Yes I get the reference to the number 42 Brewski is an awesome name for a beer The screw and nail technique you did was incredibly clever I do in fact have a special box in my life. Back when I was a small child I took a big cardboard box that was used to hold a washing machine and made a house/fort with it. I still have it today after all these years despite no longer fitting inside of it. Note: I'm glad to see you're still making awesome videos occasionally. Inspiring like always 👍
I will mirror what most have said, the screw to nail trick is great (screws as clamps is a fantastic tool whenever its possible), Brewskie is an awesome name for a beer, you should reconsider your friendship with the guy who said otherwise! :) And 42. Yes.
I can't wait to see your next short film you'll be working on!!! Also, I really like how you were able to do this with what most people would just throw away...
Firstly the name, Brewski. Let's face it, the mastermind behind such a classic as 'Slice of Life', who is going to argue their choice for a beer brand? (P.S I like it.) Secondly, very interesting comments on the air brush performance. I have found this to be often true, buying the best brand, and the performance being only a sliver above the no-name counterpart .For example, my Foredom rotary tool was not really $350 more worth of tool than the $50 no-name one from Bunnings (an Australian hardware store chain) Also, being an ex sign writer, when a brush was all we used, and watching you laser cut the lettering on your work, and lamenting the effort pulling the mask off took, wow....so lucky, compared to painting it all by hand. But it is all relative I guess my friend. Fantastic work as usual, and pinning it all together with screws first? Genius!!
hahah, yes I agree, peeling off the mask from letters is a first world problem.. :D And I agree, many times it's not that worth it to buy expensive tools. especially for the hobbyist. Thanks for watching Brett! ;) Cheeeeers!!!!
I definitely disagree on all of the techniques in the video and would do it completely different myself, but on the other hand I love beer so much that I enjoy everything about it! I can't get enough of the stuff! In fact I have drained two bottles while watching this video... so good job anyway!
Excellent video, you made it interesting, and made me laugh a few times. And we all need that in life. Great work, like the screw/nail idea.. Yes, the 15.00 airbrush from ebay is perfect for this. I have an inexpensive one from Harbor Freight, and use it more than my expensive brand name airbrushes Brewski is the perfect fictional beer name!
If you'd have asked me yesterday if I would ever watch (and thumbs up!) a video about making a beer crate I'd have said "You're crazy, get out of here. Why are you in my house asking me stupid questions. I'm calling the police!" But here we are. Watched. Thumbs upped.
I've seen others peel off the bits from the lazered lettering by using gaffer tape. Never tried myself, but seemed to work on the videos I've seen. Worth a go - will save you a lot of time if you can make it work!
Good question! Firstly, it would take MUCH longer as the laser would have to burn it line by line like a printer, and secondly, it doesn't burn wood so much that it would be completely black like charcoal. It becomes just dark yellow or brown. ;)
You have a good following.... that means we want more stuff from you guys!! What you do is excellent, entertaining and in fact educational.!!! I got my son to watch your stuff, especially on compositing your videos as he is into graphic design and uses the Adobe suite a lot... He was impressed, just like me! As for your questions...... Is 42 really the meaning of life? Are you a Hitchiker?... I dunno about Brewski... I'm not American. The nail trick... clever! More please!
Nice work, maestro. Brewski is a little dated, but the alternatives aren't much better: man pop, barley soda, daddy's breath he he. You even have an anvil! ? Keep the videos coming, boss. Very very entertaining.
I don't have all of the fun toys that you have, so I'll probably use a jigsaw with a wood cutting blade, and I think I may either elect to use a marker to make a logo and use a wood burning / soldering iron style tool to burn the design into the wood, or use my El cheapo airbrush to paint it like you did. I'll make it something funny / off the wall for the name and design. 🤣
I said it in a previous video, your art it great but your narration is what makes the video. Great content brother thanks. Your right about Americans using the term brewski lol
Never trust an American man. You know what they say anyway. Cutter, that tape cutter you are using to make the logo, can you review it or can you tell me the name please? I want to get something like that for me. I'm talking about the CNC machine that you used to cut the logo design.@@sliceoflifefilm
as a 30+ something male, I have a cable box. I have been in formed that this is more or less required of me to have. I hate that box. I should build a better one. damn it, thanks for the inspiration i guess.. No but seriously, nice box indeed, great job!

Man, I love boxes!!!
Love it! Your commentary is extremely entertaining too! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for watching!
@@sliceoflifefilm You are a talented man!
Brewski is an excellent name for a beer. Well done.
Loved the reference to Hitch Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy!

Always!
Excellent video. Clearly explained and great sense of humor.
Glad you enjoyed it!

wow two bottles in 10 minutes? My hero!!!
Amazing work once again.
Brewksi, definitely a good name.
It looks great!
Thanks Edie!
I think the brown coloring is better, it looks like it's had beer spilled on it several times over the years.
Well, thank you! Glad you like it!

Ahhh, good o'l 42. I thought you might have hit it with a flame torch to age it as well. We soooo need to share a cold one again. 🐢
Oh yes! I hope I'll be able to visit UK this or next year!
I absolutely love your videos. They are very informative as well as entertaining.
Thank you very much!
Nice work and a great video.
It's criminal that only 1265 people have seen this . Excellent.
This is an amazing channel! Cheers from Sweden 🍺
Hey, what about including the crate in the movie somewhere, hidden in plain sight . . .
Algorithm feeding. But serious question - why not burn the black text into the wood with the laser cutter? And no handle cutouts?
Good question! Firstly, it would take MUCH longer as the laser would have to burn it line by line like a printer, and secondly, it doesn't burn wood so much that it would be completely black like charcoal. It becomes just dark yellow or brown. ;)

Keep the videos coming, boss. Very very entertaining.
Haha, daddy's breath! 🤣🤣
Awesome story for a Box and Palette! What's the name/brand of powder for dye?
Oh, I have no idea.. some random brand here in Croatia. Ask in hardware stores, they probably have something similar.

Douglas Adams... the answer!
Couldn't you just sand some of the dark off to make it lighter again?
Uf, no way... It would sand away the lettering as well. It is what it is. Live and learn.
Yeah good idea

Wait, was this for a film prop or did you just really want a beer crate on wheels?
haha, not for a film. just a crate to store my beer 🤣
@@sliceoflifefilm I watched the whole thing wondering what shot was going to need all this detail.
