I've been looking for a good way to make an army style supply crate out of pallets and I think the way you've constructed this crate is just about what I was looking for!
Hello sir, I wanted to let you know that I have probably seen every wooden crate video on UA-cam and I really find that this design is by far the best. I did however use screws instead of nails. I make these for presents, furniture, bedside tables, and I just recently finished my bedroom closet and I have these all stacked up. Looks great. Every time people come over they’re always impressed with the boxes and they ask where I bought them. On shelves i treat the wood with a beeswax and the slide so nice. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your work. Have a nice day
By far the most efficient simplest economical way to build a great box. Thank you for your time and effort. . Actually these boxes could be stacked, the bottom runners should fit into the the top of the box it is seated on pretty much exactly. And your bird nesting boxes are rippers.
Such a beautiful end result. And much kudos on reusing old roofing boards! Recycling takes a lot of effort but patina like that can't be bought at the hardware store :)
Hey Finn it maybe none of my business but I was wondering why you stopped uploading videos, you really have some great DIY content. It's your business I was just wondering
Great video and those crates would make great storage in the garage. I have a number of wooden wine cases which makes me look very cultured but I don't let on I found them in a skip. A big thumbs up.
This is a great woodworking book, t.co/z6o0f8z2H4 . I took several classes as well as completed a one year diploma in carpentry at a local tech college; this is better than any book I worked out of during those lessons. It includes helpful pictures and goes over just about everything.?
Very cool! Does anyone know how they did this in the late 1800's to around the 1920's? Nobody seems to know! I'm guessing they made metal stencils and burned it onto/into the wood.
I needed this for storage crates in the garage. Thanks! A less time consuming way to transfer print onto wood would be to print in mirror version onto wax or parchment paper then smooth on.
Thanks for the idea. The crate I made is an olde time "Miller High Life" bottle case. It holds a case of bottled beer & will use it for a party beer cooler.
This is so cool. I wish I had the materials to make this.. I want this box!!! Lol If someone cut the pieces for me, you make it look so easy, I feel like I could do it.
Hi finncrafted nice rustic crates! They look good! Small little mini tip, if you back out the hole saw in between drilling; this will clear the dust or chips and might drill a bit faster or less pressure. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks. Yes i know, but in some woods you have to do it so often that it can become a drag. Forstner bit would have been better but the hole saw was closer at hand.
Yes, 1919-1932, with extremely poor results :D Moonshining, smuggling and bootlegging skyrocketed. That era has given birth to many legends about famous smugglers. Seems like keeping Finns from the bottle can be an impossible task.
Ei kai siinä mitään erikoista. Yritän aina lyödä naulat hieman eri kulmaan, ja niin etteivät ole aivan samassa linjassa puun syiden pituussuuntaan nähden (ei halkea yhtä helposti).

Adding the branding at the end really made it look authentic 😊

Brilliant work nice to see your use of hand tools as well Greetings fae Scotland 🏴
Very clever idea making the base ‘inside out’ then flipping it 👍👍
Wow, just what I need for my LPs. 😊
Nice job, they look pretty authentic. cutting the stencil looks like the most difficult part of this build.
Fricking pure awesomeness ! Wow !
Awesome, realy easy, old style and beauty....!!!
Regards and best wishes from Copiapó, Chile.
Beautifully done, I love seeing craftmanship at work! It's quite soothing for me for some reason.
I know that soothing effect. Happy if I can provide that for someone too!
I just watched your whole playlist over the last few days. Its a shame you stopped. I hope things went well with whatever you did instead.
I would love to have plans to make these. awesome job
Nice job Buddy. Thanks.
Nice build enjoyed the video, thanks for posting
That must have been one hell of a party!

Yes, sometimes time is the best finish for wood. I didn't even coat these with any lacquer, varnish etc.

INCREDIBLE !!!! That is some class at work there!
Thank you .
love from 🇮🇩
Simple but really nice crates !!!👍
super cool crates, love how much the patina of the wood adds. Great video and edit too.
Probably more than 80 years since this wood was cut. Glad you like the video!
Great vid mate

Thanks for the comment!
Gorgeous!!!
Awesome!
What a great video, thank you for sharing. It's inspired me to go and have a go myself. Thanks again for sharing.

Tim from Wood 4 Nothing
Beautiful work as always. You make this look so easy.
Thanks. I found the only remotely challenging part was cutting out the template for the text.
yeah that can get really tedious
Really beautiful
These look great!

Very nice job, Thanks !
Nice work. I don't know if I'd have the patience to carve out that stencil. Kudos.
This is cool, but I would like the measurements of the boards and what size to cut them to, so I can build it myself.
Felicitaciones Finncrafted muy inspirador !!!!!
Very nice
without doubt...THIS MUST BE IZZY SWAN´S APPRENTICE!!!!!
que gran pasiencia para recortar ese molde
Man those are beautiful but instead of paint I'd use stencils and a wood burning pen
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 lavoro di gran gusto !!! Materiali semplici ed una grande idea gli ingredienti x questo splendido lavoro !
Built like little tanks just like they used to do it back then. Nowadays things fall apart if you just look at them too hard haha!
Another great video!
I needed this for storage crates in the garage. Thanks!
A less time consuming way to transfer print onto wood would be to print in mirror version onto wax or parchment paper then smooth on.
Toner transfer method would have been my first choice, but I don't have a laser printer.
Very cool
Great RetroBox!
love these!
I always forget how nice clamps are to have around
Ah now I know how I shall build a crate for my hobo cart out of palettes.
What were those boards from originally? looks good
Thanks for the idea. The crate I made is an olde time "Miller High Life" bottle case. It holds a case of bottled beer & will use it for a party beer cooler.
Nice job, nice video editing. Well done
Thank you!
Like that a lot
Where are you my friend?
very good.
How did you treat the freshly cut parts so that they wouldn't "stick out" compared to the older wood ?
This is so cool. I wish I had the materials to make this.. I want this box!!! Lol If someone cut the pieces for me, you make it look so easy, I feel like I could do it.
Go into a city and look for random palettes laying around and you will just need nails and a hammer then.
Cool
Love it!!!! Thanks for idea ;)
Minne kaveri on kadonnut? Hyviä videoita oot tehnyt toivottavasti tulee lisää
Love it

Oh yeah i can imagine that
Great!!
You genius top quality job
Bruto e rústico 👊🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I'm pretty sure that during the prohibition days it didn't say Bootleg Whiskey on the crates, lol. Nonetheless, great job!
hi there any measurements plz ??
Good Job
Can you provide a cut list for this? I have to build multiple as props for a theatre production
same! please!
What spray did you use
Cool work dude.. you just made it like a man
N I C E .
Pretty cool : )
wow, great idea, what font did you use ?
What font did you use?
nice- do u have some dimension info?
Think it was like 50x35x30 cm (LxWxH)
Genial ! Hello from france
Where can I get the stencils from?
Remember when you used to make videos, yeah that was cool.
What type of one is this pallet?
Can you give me the measurements of the wood
Hello, very well done !! Where can I get the inscriptions?
I made these from scratch to suit a particular event. Not readily available I'm afraid.
Да это же улей для пчел)))
Hammering a nail into a board, inside a box... I'll be danged if that isn't the hardest way to do that one...
Great job!!! Btw where did you get the stencil?
He made it himself-- watch starting minute 3:27.
If you do a search for "stencil fonts" you'll find a bunch that you can print with and then cut out.
Please come back! All is forgiven.
Air driven hammer in fast forward
Like e inscrito 👏🇧🇷
MUHTEŞEM!
Those came so cool! Did Finland ever have prohibition?
Yes, 1919-1932, with extremely poor results :D Moonshining, smuggling and bootlegging skyrocketed. That era has given birth to many legends about famous smugglers. Seems like keeping Finns from the bottle can be an impossible task.
Tosta 0:49 eteenpäin, oikein ahistaa kuin lähelle saumaa lyöt. Onko siinä joku juttu?
