And this is where Bay took inspiration for depicting humans in his version of the Transformers.
pro tip: if you want to be trusted by others, don’t name yourselves something that suggests Deceit, Treachery and betrayal
Optimus Prime's evil laugh is one of my favourite parts I love in this cartoon.
Simple question: "What would happen if the Autobots lost and the Decepticons won?" That question was asked by many fans, and no doubt letters were sent. When the fans got this episode, they probably thought their suggestion was the response. In actuality, the episode was being written and produced before the letters even came in. As kids, we just didn't know enough details about how animated TV episodes were made. It wasn't from lack of intelligence; it was just from lack of knowledge.
Poor Dirge, he never got to make some home movies.
I know it all turned out to be a ruse but the idea of Autobots being evil and Decepticons portrayed as heroic figures would help inspire the Shattered Glass series many years later with the roles of both Transformers factions reversed
You know, I once thought this was such a dumb episode premise...but like MGS2, it's more real and likely to happen than people realize! This really shows how horrible the media can and has been.
This episode always stuck w me since I was a kid. An evil media and human gullibility are inseparable.
I love this episode. You gotta love how devious and manipulative Megatron is. He knows the exact words to say.
Peter Cullen laughing maliciously? Lol gotta love it
This is one of Megatron's finest plots.

Amazing how easy the populace fall for whatever is on tv and actually believe it is real.
“due process of the law”
Megatron was literally born with Speech and Charisma stats maxed out.
Mr Berger was like the J Jonah Jameson of the Transformers, broadcasting fake news and also having a hatred for such thing called "hero".
This episode really lived up to it's title. It was one of Megatron's best schemes.

Megatron is so diabolical..."There is no limit to what you can have if you join us"......Knowing all well he's giving you NOTHING but lies....LMAOOO...
