This cartoon gave us Vector Sigma, the supercomputer that gave the Transformers life. The 80s Marvel comic gave us Primus. A literal robot god that created the Transformers. Nowadays, both exist as separate entities that give Cybertronians life.
Rumble and Frenzy took every advantage of their humanlike size. Transformers history says there were a lot of minirobots like them at the beginning of the war, before they developed the transformation perk, but they all escaped to another planet, where they developed a different kind of transformation: rather than transforming into vehicles they kept driving them (like Rumbler and Frenzy driving cars and a trains), and transformed into the head of a robot of the size of an average autobot or decepticon, while their vehicle was transforming into their body. The shooting scripts for both installments of this two-parter contain several "deleted scenes" which expand greatly upon some of the more significant events in the story. In this episode: 1. "That blast" mentioned by Prime in the finished episode actually happens. 2. While the other Autobots are busy down in the tunnels, Omega Supreme battles Shockwave on the planet's surface throughout the second act of the episode. Shockwave refers to Omega as his "old enemy," and is on the losing end of the fight until he gets his hands on a "cyberbomb," which he uses to defeat Omega, leaving him very badly damaged. There is a vestigial reference to this battle in Part 2, and further scenes relating to its consequences are removed from that episode, altering the nature of its turning point quite a bit.
It goes even further back to the original TF Marvel US comic explanation of supposedly naturally occuring computers and robots. That explanation didn't really make any sense, so it fell by the wayside. So I like to think of it as just Cybertronian legend, folklore, or fairy tale. The next mechanism up was the Creation Matrix. Before we got the Autobot Matrix of Leadership in TTF:TM, we got the Creation Matrix in the comics. This was a device carried by Optimus Prime that could be used to breathe life and personality into machines. It was used to do so both in robot-made and human-made machines. In so doing, it showed us that at least some--if not all--TFs are artificial, and not natural. What's more, the Creation Matrix was treated as a sort of mystical or magical artifact or talisman, tapping into something beyond mere physical hardware and core computer programming. The animated movie showed us further that this artifact had become associated with the Autobots dynasty of leaders in particular, and that it possessed powers desirable to villainous robots. Taken with the Creation Matrix lore, this could possibly indicate that at some point in Cybertronian history, the Autobots had assumed a form of monopoly on creating new robot life. If so, this surely must have added to the Decepticons' list of grievances with the Autobots. Maybe it was even one of the Decepticons' original gripes? The key takeaway is that, whether it was indeed intended as a merely Autobot talisman or indeed as a tool for the benefit of all Cybertronian factions, the Matrix was capable of accessing something more than the physical building blocks of a laboratory or workshop, and then bringing that "something more" back and incorporating it into the hardware. It could access, download, and install cybernetic life. In the earliest issues of the comic and episodes of the cartoon, we see the Ark's systems bringing TFs back online after millions of years, after a big fight between the two robot factions had lead to a crash landing on prehistoric Earth. It is worth wondering whether every one of the TFs has survived that fight, or if some had indeed died. Given the results of the Decepticons' assault on the Autobot shuttle in TTF:TM, it's almost certain some TFs must've died in the prelude to the Cybertronians' arrival on Earth. So apparently the Ark itself had the ability to bring robots back to life. Perhaps this meant using an older copy of Cybertronian personality components? Or maybe as the robots died in the fight, the ship was able to upload a copy of their most up-to-date personality profiles and cybernetic minds into its memory banks as backups? At any rate, after the volcanic eruption of Mount St. Hilary, the Ark breathed distinctive life back into 28 or more robots. And then we saw the toon introduce the Reflector bots, and the Dinobots, and the Constructicons. Some of these were brought to life on Earth, while others were transported to Earth through the Space Bridge. S2 had more TFs show up on Earth, some with Cybertronium deficiencies, indicating they must have had Cybertronian bodies, even if their personalities had not been brought back online earlier. So their minds must have been brought back online more recently. This implies an ongoing ability on Earth to reunite robot minds and old bodies. Then the cartoon introduced the Vector Sigma supercomputer as having the ability to instill new robot life. It is a continuity glitch between the comic and the cartoon as to whether the Matrix or the supercomputer was "the" means to accomplish this. On balance, it would appear that maybe they could both create new robotic life. Or perhaps, if we give more credence eto the cartoon over the comic, the Matrix never could. Maybe the Matrix's power was restricted to containing the knowledge, wisdom, and will of the Primes, but not the power over life. If so, then maybe Vector Sigma was a means of accessing that "something more" than mere hardware and core programming instead of the Matrix? Rather than being a device for creating life, maybe VS was just a major conduit for accessing it? If that were the case, then that would leave open the possibility for other, newer devices to be constructed for accessing and retrieving new robot life in the future, even after VS's demise, and perhaps even after the destruction of Cybertron itself? It is unclear whether TFs who appear later in the cartoon (Protectobots, Sky Lynx, Predacons, Throttlebots, Doublespy, Clones, Sixchangers, etc.) were reanimated or newly created robots. This all also leaves up for interpretation and exploration just what that "something more" is. Later TF iterations have told us it is the Allspark. Perhaps it is. But did the Cybertronians of G1 know that? Is the Allspark G1 lore now?
When I saw this episode one thing I always wondered about even though it shows where Rumble got the cars that became Dragstrip DeadEnd and MotorMaster I sure would have liked to see where he got the cars that became WildRider and BreakDown and what was really cool was seeing Vector Sigma the supercomputer that gave all life to the Transformers both Autobots and Decepticons.
@@kirongauff4934 Maybe. Seeing as he stole a race car during a televised race I can’t imagine Rumble dumpster diving for wrecked cars. That sounds more like Starscream or Astrotrain’s style. But I could see him disintegrating or dismembering some used car salesman. He enjoys his work. 🥴
Yeah, they seem to be close quarter combat droids. Between their fighting skills and their strong armour, they're formidable warriors. I do wonder why the Decepticons didn't simply mass produce them to overwhelm the Autobots?
This was cool how they built up some lore in this show that lasted through the various versions. It is a little weird that so many people from truck drivers to bank robbers all wear yellow construction helmets. I remember hearing in an interview that Peter Cullen explained he threw in a bit of John Wayne with his portrayal of Optimus Prime as they were still figuring out his character. You can really hear it in his line at 2:58
Most combiner teams whenever they debut, they would usually just randomly appear in an episode with no introduction or any form of a backstory but what i loved about the Key To Vector Sigma part 1, they showed us how the Stunticons were created and Key To Sigma part 2 also showed how the Aerialbots were made while giving us an incredible insight into how all of the Transformers gained their own personalities. This portion of season 2 also showed how important Alpha Trion was to not only the legacy of Cybertron but to all of the Autobots especially Optimus Prime
This was the first episode of Transformers I ever saw as a kid and one of my favorites. It's funny to see Omega step on Blaster which I only just noticed today! 10:23
"It must be the Autobots!" *TO BE CONTINUED* ... *WE NOW CONTINUE* "...General, sir, are you some kind of idiot?" If that's not how part two starts, I'll be disappointed.
Man, for being thousands of years old, maybe way more, the cone heads were as stunned as my arse! And how did Rumble not crush that car under his weight?! he may be about human sized but he's still pretty beefy.
13:53 Blaster: Man, we are El Losto. Ratchet: This can't be the way those decepti-goons came. Alpha Trion: On the contrary, it definitely is. Ratchet: What makes you so sure? Alpha Trion: Because, who else we would've sent _them_ to kill us? Spot on, Alpha Trion 😂
Circa 13:55 - If Alpha Trion knows that the Deceptions went that way because he can see the guardians approaching, why carry on nonchalantly marching forward rather than altering everyone?
"The Decepticons beat us here!" Well they did have a head start and a space bridge to instantly warp them across the galaxy. The fact that Omega Supreme was able to get you there in what seems like a matter of hours, or days at the most, is quite impressive.
Anyone find it funny that when Rumble landed on the trailer of the truck that became MotorMaster when he fired his gun to stop the Police cars the shots that came out first sounded like Megatron's fusion cannon but when the shots hit the tires they went to sounding like the regular weapons fire of other Decepticons.
Though it makes you wonder about continuity. They made the Dinobots on Earth without Vector Sigma, and Grimlock made the Technobots without Vector Sigma also inside Unicron's head.
The real reason is that the episodes had several writers and no story bible beyond the character personalities. So, Donald F Glut was doing one thing whilst other writers were doing their own thing
You know canon shifts from episode to episode lol. Kind of like how suddenly the Constructicons were friends with Omega Supreme millions of years ago LOL
Maybe i think that the dinobots were created and programmed with simple brains and their personalties according to their dinosaur modes...just my opinion...🙂
The Stuntacons and Aerialbots were some of my favorite toys. I played with them well into the 1990s. Although, it took me along time to understand the difference between Motormaster, Scourge, and Nemesis Prime.
Fun fact: the majority of the Transformers in G1 continuity are at least nine million years old. After the Great War began Alpha Trion hid the key to Vector Sigma and it became impossible to create new Cybertronians.
“That can only mean one thing. They must be the Autobots!” So basically because they’re road vehicles they’re assumed to be Autobots? Good to see this show addresses profiling
Am I the only one who questioned, that if Vector Sigma is the only entity who could give personality to transformers, how is that possible that Wheeljack created Dinobots, who themselves have perosnalities, even with lack of intelligence?
Anyone else besides me notice that the weapons fire sounds during the opening scene of this episode sounded exactly like that from G.I. JOE:A REAL AMERICAN HERO.
13:21 Optimus: "It's a miracle we survived that blast". What blast..? Had to do some research and according to TFWiki a lot was edited out of these two episode including that blast and a fight between Omega and Shockwave which is what caused the unexplained hole on the side of Omega in shuttle mode in pt2.
3:44, Rumble has stolen several vehicle engines, he can get 5 vehicles, namely 4 cars and 1 trailer. So, Megatron has planned to create a new Decepticons is the birth of 5 Stunticons

I have some questions about The Centurion Droids that's left me baffled. Why weren't they in more episodes? they were clearly badass. But then again, Why were they so strong and dangerous in this episode (fair enough stupid) but they were wimps in the headmasters episode "The Mystery of Planet Master"? How comes they never transformed? and out of curiosity what do they transform into? I meant they have like this funky shape especially the shoulders that just looks like they may transform into something different. These are things I've always wondered as a kid and still do today lol

The Stunticons were thus designed from racing cars and a huge black truck and converted by Megatron in such a way that they can pull balances and stuns, jump tens of meters through the air, drive through meter-thick boulders without scratching and even vertically against walls. can drive up! Motormaster also looked very much like Megatron, although the cartoons do not show how Dead End, Drag Strip, Wildrider and Breakdown actually abhor him and sometimes prefer to fight the Autobots on their own initiative rather than Megatron ordering them to do so.

Rumble probably got one of them at a used car lot and the other at some random gas station while the owner was going inside trying to get gas.
I like to think he stole Breakdown from the cartoon universe’s equivalent of Jake Dalrymple :-)
Seeing how he disposed of the drivers to get Dead End and Motormaster, he must have decapitated guys to get the Ferrari and Lamborghini.
@@75aces97 with that or he must've found the Lamborghini at a used car lot or the dump.
RIP Jack Angel aka Ramjet, Breakdown (this episode only), and Omega Supreme.
3:23 "If it weren't for those accursed animators, my left arm would be GREY now!!"
I like how the ancient centurion robots use human wrestling moves!
Right! Nice belly to back suplex into a bridge👍👍
Too bad the Stunticons never got a chance to run down the Dinobots.
That job went to the Predacons.
This is one of the ones I remembered best from when I was young. Amazing to rewatch it.
"And frankly I don't think you've got the guts!" Classic Prime.
"It must be the Autobots!"
*TO BE CONTINUED*
...
*WE NOW CONTINUE*
"...General, sir, are you some kind of idiot?"
If that's not how part two starts, I'll be disappointed.
I like how, even though new transformers appeared from nowhere during this season, megatron had to awaken a million year old computer to make 5 cars.
Man, for being thousands of years old, maybe way more, the cone heads were as stunned as my arse! And how did Rumble not crush that car under his weight?! he may be about human sized but he's still pretty beefy.
* millions of years
13:53
Blaster: Man, we are El Losto.
Those drones really gave those reactivated robots a serious beating. 😳
"The Decepticons beat us here!"
Well they did have a head start and a space bridge to instantly warp them across the galaxy. The fact that Omega Supreme was able to get you there in what seems like a matter of hours, or days at the most, is quite impressive.
Rumble has done the story mode on GTA an now he is just filling his garage up with all the car he likes :)
14:25 Rumble speaking for every TF fan ever.
Rumble insulted his god lol
Anyone find it funny that when Rumble landed on the trailer of the truck that became MotorMaster when he fired his gun to stop the Police cars the shots that came out first sounded like Megatron's fusion cannon but when the shots hit the tires they went to sounding like the regular weapons fire of other Decepticons.
I like how Megatron/Rumble select vehicles which were used for mal-intent.
Must have imprinted to the character profile.
They also revolve around the Decepticon isaniga colors. I.e. Motormaster and Deadend.
The racing car
Most well rounded show of all time. Ethics, values, soundtrack, FX, good v evil and humor. This is awesome!!! Again🔥
Damn they beat alpha Trion like he stole something his body was imprinted in the concrete damn lol..
At alpha Trion age and frail condition he should have.been.damn near dead
And made a big cat/dog attack an old man😡 that's just cold blooded!!
frenzy accidentally predicted the gta franchise
Though it makes you wonder about continuity. They made the Dinobots on Earth without Vector Sigma, and Grimlock made the Technobots without Vector Sigma also inside Unicron's head.
The real reason is that the episodes had several writers and no story bible beyond the character personalities. So, Donald F Glut was doing one thing whilst other writers were doing their own thing
I always thought the dinobots were retarded because they were made on Earth. Maybe Prime used the Matrix? Or maybe they are zombies? 😅
You almost never see the villain have to take a side quest.
Question: If they need Vector Sigma to give new Transformers personalities, how were the Dinobots able to already have their own during season 1?
You know canon shifts from episode to episode lol. Kind of like how suddenly the Constructicons were friends with Omega Supreme millions of years ago LOL
Same reason why Omega Supreme can leave his body on earth and then appear on Cybertron when the rocket arrives. 🤭
But seriously, the Dinobots' personalities are quite primitive compared to other Transformers. Maybe that's why.
Maybe i think that the dinobots were created and programmed with simple brains and their personalties according to their dinosaur modes...just my opinion...🙂
Because these episodes had many authors, so there is no exist a perfect continuity of logical events - it was fixed on Beast Wars
Rumble yeeting that poor driver.
The Stuntacons and Aerialbots were some of my favorite toys. I played with them well into the 1990s.
Although, it took me along time to understand the difference between Motormaster, Scourge, and Nemesis Prime.
i got hella excited seeing breakdown, probably one of my favorite decepticons, especially in tf prime
Fun fact: the majority of the Transformers in G1 continuity are at least nine million years old. After the Great War began Alpha Trion hid the key to Vector Sigma and it became impossible to create new Cybertronians.
The two-parter is the best story in the entire series.
“That can only mean one thing. They must be the Autobots!”
So basically because they’re road vehicles they’re assumed to be Autobots? Good to see this show addresses profiling
Man, Rumble is F***** ruthless! lol!
He’s my favorite transformer !
"I Can't believe it those motorized morons are getting away"-Megatron 1985
This is One OF My favorite episodes Vector sigma
This is definitely 1 of my FAVE episodes. Deadend is 1 of my fave Decepticons
Dragstrip pledges loyalty, yet tells Megatron (via Soundwave) to blow it out his ass when asked to help in ‘Starscream’s Brigade’ 😂
Ikr that had me crying
Am I the only one who questioned, that if Vector Sigma is the only entity who could give personality to transformers, how is that possible that Wheeljack created Dinobots, who themselves have perosnalities, even with lack of intelligence?
Man the construction workers must not be getting paid in this episode LOL!!
This season was just classic after classic. I hope they put Season 3 up
That dude in your avatar was crazy as Hell. I hope he recovered.
Anyone else besides me notice that the weapons fire sounds during the opening scene of this episode sounded exactly like that from G.I. JOE:A REAL AMERICAN HERO.
3:30 Ah, Megatron has a cast on his arm. Did he break it somehow? 😆
One of Starscream’s many failed assassination attempts lol. Maybe that’s why he isn’t here 😂
"You enjoy history Optimus. Ever hear of The Key to Vector Sigma?"
13:43 "What a bunch of junk!" I don't know... Looks more like mass carnage to me...
It seems like Megatron is more calm cool & collective whenever Starscream isnt around.
He’s allergic to Starscream’s nonsense.
Is there anywhere where I can find or see that cut edit?
It was a scene that got deleted
13:55 Blaster's face is going on a journey
He's secretly saying, "this is a load of barnacles" to his team mates.
3:44, Rumble has stolen several vehicle engines, he can get 5 vehicles, namely 4 cars and 1 trailer. So, Megatron has planned to create a new Decepticons is the birth of 5 Stunticons
Who would have thought a group of four cars and trailer would be on team consisted of Jets, Construction Vehicles, Cassettes and a Gun
I love how Rumble has to cram his hands into the F1 car to steal it.
'eat my smoke!' smokescreen doesnt realize hes polluting
The story lines of the Transformers cartoon was never meant to make any sense... they were made to sell the toylines which I totally fell for in the 80s as a kid. God, I still love them...
Transformers Prime was the best Cartoon of the TF so far. Try that for story and also beast wars. But BW has not aged well visually. The CG looks like watching a nintendo 64 game footage. HAHA Transformers Animated imo is the funniest.
@@UToobUsername01 tfa's artstyle is my favorite part about it by far but the humor is pretty good too lol
12:07 & 17:59
Those... are so cool 😎 looking and super awesome to boot!! Totally my ideal guards.
im a huge F1 fan so i remember when an alien robot stole Jody Scheckter's 6 wheeler Tyrell during a race
G1 dragstrip: "I am dragstrip, i live to obey!" 16:51
16:22
Dragstrip might change his tune when he realizes Megatron takes him for granted.
this is one of my favorite episodes birth of the Stunticons and AerialBots
I have some questions about The Centurion Droids that's left me baffled. Why weren't they in more episodes? they were clearly badass. But then again, Why were they so strong and dangerous in this episode (fair enough stupid) but they were wimps in the headmasters episode "The Mystery of Planet Master"? How comes they never transformed? and out of curiosity what do they transform into? I meant they have like this funky shape especially the shoulders that just looks like they may transform into something different. These are things I've always wondered as a kid and still do today lol
Yeah, centurion droid such brutish forces in American G1, but became weaker and simply throw away in headmasters, sometimes Im not interest in JP G1 because some of characters are left and unknown ambigious like goldbug, wreck gar, jazz, and especially grimlock, the only I don't like headmasters series is cybertron has been destroyed.
Rumble’s methods of carjacking are just pure savagery. 😂
G1 my absolute fave Transformers!
4:40-4:43😂😂😂😂😂😂 HE DEAD! The Deceptions killed A LOT in this show. Rumble killed humans in this episode. Dr. Arcevil was killed by Shockwave most likely. Starscreem killed the Deceptions in the detention center. Then you have the movie so.....THEY WERE NO JOKES!💯
Who wants a GTA Rumble?
Bwhahah I like how the smoke stuck to megatron's body like it was magnetised or something.
Rumble was a pretty good car-jacker.
22:00 The Mighty Devastator!!!
