The Dinobots feel taken for granted lately. This couldn't have come at a worse time, though, as a deadly scourge strikes every other Transformer. Only Cybertronium can cure their collective ills, but only the Decepticons have easy access to it. With the Autobots in serious trouble, the Dinobots are practically left to decide whether they will live or die.

This episode is filled with so many amusing moments, but appreciation for how damn slick Hound's handling of the Decepticons was.
I saw it and was like "hah continuity error at it finest!" Then it was Hound and I was like "oh that is awesome!!!"😂
I think the reason why Grimlock appealed to so many kids, myself included, is because despite the fact that deep down he's a good guy, he still has the mentality and maturity of a 6 year old kid, and many 6 year old kids could identify with and relate to him.
It's because Dinosaurs are fucking cool.
It did make him more interesting as a character. The idea that his loyalty depended on his mood or which memories happened to be sloging through that brain of his made him a real wild card. It also helped making the Dinobots a crutch for the other autobots to lean on.

I love some of the aspects of this episode. Like the idea that the autobots are doing their part to repair everyplace they fought the decepticons. It's an interesting idea most shows either gloss over or mock.
And as a kid i never appreciated why Bumblebee was always the autobot with Spike. But now I can see as the smallest autobot he has the easiest time moving around among humans in robot mode. Plus he probably enjoys being the biggest guy in the room for a change.
Then there's the fact the writers respected the audience enough to not need to show Megatron ordering Shockwave to send cybertonium. It stood to reason they would have run diagnostic checks and come to the same conclusion.

Well, his name is Red Alert, meaning, if there's trouble or disaster, he'll pick it up right away.
I can’t blame the Dinobots for being so cranky all the time, if my contemporaries kept me locked in a close until they needed a favor I’d be antisocial too.
This two-parter is probably my favourite overall episode. Dinobots, Shockwave, Autobot v Deception battles, Cybertron, and we get to see that cool backstory video. Spike, Carly and Sparkplug are likeable human characters as well.
Kind of felt a bit too much like the second Dinobot episode again, albeit with a slight twist, like they couldn't justify the story right, also without confirming that Grimlock is the Autobot's jerk-ish Richard Cranium. This made him dislikeable to a lot of people: he was kind of a traitor, honestly, like an Autobot counterpart to Starscream. It didn't go well for him. They only survived the movie because they were popular as a group, and the combiners were too much, too often. And ofc, dinosaurs are *always* cool. >.>
@@blastvortex I know what you mean, Grimlock actually tries to murder the human characters at one point which makes no sense. However, I still prefer the Dinobots as an anti-authoritarian splinter faction as opposed to just being ‘86/post ‘86 movie comic relief.

This is ironically one of the funniest episodes in the original run.
Plenty of others compete though. A Decepticon Raider made me absolutely howl at several moments, particularly when Rumble acquires the stoopid KNO3

Bumblebee said "Sizzling Cybertron" twice, Megatron getting soft, Sludge and Snarl are smaller, Autobots constructing some sort of...concrete bunker or something?! Jazz's hood pops out, Ravage acting weird and Shockwave armed with a tiny version of himself!!! This episode is a ton of laughs!!!
14:53 gotta be the first time in G1 Megatron was actually terrifying. The show is obviously very campy, but this line is cold, like something TFP Megatron would say.
The plot here was all over the place lol, jesus. Soundwave and Blaster inside Ironhide's trunk next to each other for no reason? And Ravage is just there too? Then Bumblebee on a theme park ride randomly, and the Dinobots just sit inside a closet all day, and Grapple and Powerglide are building a brick square box for some reason, hahah...
One thing that never made sense is how the Contructicons are still fine despite all of them being originally from Cybertron like the rest of the Decespticons
@@josevictorionunez9312 according to Heavy Metal War, Megatron had built them in caverns on Earth which would explain why they would still be functional. Also, this would back up that version of how the Constructicons were built over the version presented in Five Faces of Darkness in which the Constructicons were the ones who built Megatron.
Characters waiting behind a door was a common thing in Marvel action cartoons. I remember a few times in the G.I.Joe cartoon when Cobra troops were hidden behind a false wall. I was thinking, "Do they just stand battle ready all day or is there a red light that goes off 10 seconds before the door opens so they can put down their coffee and cigarettes and stand ready before that door opens and the shooting starts?"
It's episodes like these that I love so much. It'll keep you hooked up till the end, lol.

I think one of my favourite things about this version of the Autobots is how they repair the damage after their fights, no other transformers series shows them doing that.
7:58 Rather funny thing to note: In G1 the Dinobots are weaker/less durable as robots than as dinos, and in transformers Prime the Predacons (mostly just Predaking) is said to be more durable (not necessarily any stronger or weaker, just more easily able to shrug off shots) as a robot than as a beast/dragon.
Just an interesting and probably unintentional reversal.

But to be fair, the Dinobots did have some help from their human allies. Plus, Megatron’s logic circuits probably weren’t working right to set up his “secret hideout” at a commercial airport and have military-grade planes takeoff and land there.

2007 autobot and nebulan technology and forces the autobots should have won the war the aitobots had the chances to defeat the cons once and for all numerous times

A classic Dinobot episode,this magnificent 2 parter has always been one of my all time favorite episodes! This episode also showed how difficult Grimlock can be to deal with.
This is such a goofy episode especially with parts such as megatron voice box stop working and how when the decepticons tried to fly away looked like they were all drunk

I understand that this is a cartoon in the 80's and this was a part of megatron's plan, but how did soundwave get inside ironhide with blaster and no one noticed. There has to be some sort of logic behind this.
Only thing can think of, since soundwave is a spy, ironhide was chilling to music with blaster and sound wave sneaked in.
Even though part 2 was much more enjoyable and epic mainly because it featured Swoop in a big role as the main lead, part 1 had so many funny moments with a nice balance of seriousness thrown in. From Blaster manhandling Ravage at the back of Ironhide to Hound luring the Decepticons away with a Megatron hologram to Prime literally kicking him (pun intended) through a wall to Starscream sarcastly pointing out that the Dinobots found their secret HQ to all of the Transformers falling apart due to lack of Cybertonium. It had it all and more. The ending with Spike and Carly going through the space bridge portal as Shockwave is waiting in entry room and blasting the door was an excellent way to end part 1 but also setting up part 2 was very well done.

Omega Supreme is one of those mega strong Transformers that always gets bogged down by plot reasons such as needing to recharge.
They had a autobot n decepticons radio outback of the second strongest autobot without he knowing it's just weird seeing 3 Autobots n 2 decepticons together without knowing it lol
