I would have preferred they use Tom Kenny, who did Starscream in Transformers Animated and sounded similar to Chris Latta’s Starscream. Tomato didn’t have the right pitch/shrillness in his voice and his Wheeljack sounded off
He’s like a crotchety old grandpa scolding his grandson for wanting to skip school lmao Some irritable people calm down as they get older, but Megs here sounds more aggressive than he did in the original!
I love how Peter's performance sounds like an inbetween of his live action/Prime and G1 incarnations. It has the liveliness of his G1 voice, but the gruffness and age of his live action voice.

probably the best experience of this table read was hearing Peter Cullen's more modern Optimus Prime voice. In case you were wondering, when Peter did Optimus' voice for the first 2 seasons, he played him with a more jovial, youthful/heartfelt tone, emphasizing a more father-like figure. It wasn't until the 1986 movie that they revamp optimus' character to be more stoic and leader like with a more serious voice that we all know today. So, seeing him now use that voice in the first episode is such a novelty. I can express how cool it was hearing him.
Michael Bay did the best he can and the movies was successful in reviving the dying franchise by bringing new fans and money. While I love G1, it is a fact that it is impossible to do a live-action movie with this version. From the story to the designs, they just aren't fit to the live-action format. The live-action movie can't focus on the Transformers because the cost for the CGIs is just too expensive. They would run out of money just for making 10 minutes of the movie. The G1 designs aren't suited in live-action. They would look like awful fake plastic toys like in the Bumblebee movie and Rise of the Beast. Bayverse designs are the best for the live-action movies. They actually look like metallic alien robots. G1 designs are best suited for animated cartoons and comics.
