    As someone who suffers from epilepsy and deals with anxiety, and depression. I can’t thank my Salvadorean co-worker enough. He brought me “Gamalate B6 with GABA.. and let me tell you. I see things more clearly, my jitters have gone away as well as my anxiety and depression. I feel sooo good, think more clearly and I don’t rush things like I use to.

    I have been following your channel. Great stuff. Your channel almost covered every topic I was curious about .
    Can you do a video about the following supplements : Bee Pollen, Royal Jelly and Chaga ?
    I’ve been really interested in active sports health and I feel that these supplements are helping me . I would love your input.

    • @JessicaNortonND
      @JessicaNortonND  10 днів тому +1

      Great question! Yes I have seen a few studies, they think it can increase HRV because it is pushing toward more parasympathetic dominance. Check out this study pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38321713/#:~:text=Notably%2C%20an%20augmented%20HRV%20was,following%20a%2090%2Dday%20supplementation.

    Hello Doctor..Does GAPA work like anticonvulsants (primidone)

    • @JessicaNortonND
      @JessicaNortonND  10 місяців тому +2

      The mechanism of action of primidone is not well defined. It is believed to work centrally via interactions with voltage-gated sodium channels inhibiting repetitive firing of action potentials. This would be a question to take up with your prescribing physician

    • @Sydopath
      @Sydopath Місяць тому +2

      No. It doesn’t work the same way as Primidone, but it does reduce seizure frequency and intensity for me. I’ve had epilepsy for 9 years. It is resistant to prescribed drugs, but I have cut the frequency by 75%, with a combination of valerian (a gaba stimulator), and gaba supplement. Just as important, keep your blood sugar low, and never drink alcohol 👍

    i do have progesterone deficiency, so i take P. . It sssticks to the Gaba receptors and also clams down. Ssometims i feel like it geta used as cortisol, ad i get angry...sometime i get pissed and i notice that i went too many hours without taking the next dose P.! Its strange. So i wonder if taking Gaba additionally to the Progestero would b better so that the P. actually only gets where it needs to be i the first place (uterus) or if this wouldn´t make any difference? (my doctors are´t able to answer this)

    • @JessicaNortonND
      @JessicaNortonND  3 місяці тому

      To my knowledge the progesterone would still enter systemic circulation, meaning it would bind to receptors throughout the body such as the brain and other locations

      @@madlenj.4644 I'm not sure if I fully understand your question. Taking a supplement like GABA would not bind to ALL of the receptors. When taking supplements the affinity is usually not an all or nothing response.

      @@JessicaNortonND I think you do understand 🙂. Okay..then Progesterone still could bind to receptors in the brain..but maybe to less Gaba brain receptors than it could without Gaba intake?

    Hello,
    I don't know if you can answer this question, but I would really appreciate a professional take on this. I am considering taking GABA to reduce some symptoms which I think may come from an undiagnosed Autism Spectrum Disorder. I found a few articles hinting that the neurological impairements, that are characteristic for autism may come or at least are in some degree related to a reduced ability to release or produce GABA. I feel overwhelmed very fast, get caught in mental loops and have in general difficulty calming myself down. Do you think GABA might help me to get some order into my brain? I would appreciate a response, but fully understand, if you cannot give a simple answer. Thanks in advance.

    • @JessicaNortonND
      @JessicaNortonND  6 місяців тому

      ASD is definitely not my area of expertise and it's hard to say without knowing more of your history. However I would say if you want to give GABA a try this would be a great topic to chat with your doc about so that you can monitor symptoms/side effects as you work with the dosage.

      Hi Nick, 3 months later... I take GABA at night to help me calm down and go to sleep - and find that it works just fine, 3 hours after dinner. It would probably also depend on how much protein is in your dinner. But 3 hours is definitely "empty" enough, Especially if you take it in a powder form, it's really quick to absorb.

      You're mad because "nobody" cares and "no" doctors care, clearly no one ever taught you not to say never or always( or any absolutes). 😂 It is correct that the majority don't care about anything that a Pharmaceutical company doesn't make money from and that they also will benefit from.
      When we find someone that does gratitude is the only emotion we should feel and express.
      My guess is all the "consult with a doctor" disclaimers are given for legal reasons.
