Suksma Wayne - loving these insights into the wonderful Balinese culture. Looking forward to returning to magical Ubud and also spending some slow time in Amed - has been too long.
Hi jarrosoho. if you're who i think you are you have my deepest thanks! Amed is a great choice of place to spend time in Bali, i think. I love just drifting in the water current over the corals and fish. Thanks so much again, Jarred.
Balinese people give canang every day to honor their ancestors. and thank the universe and pray for all creatures to always receive grace from the God of the universe.
Hi kabulkajate. It's great to wander the streets every day and see people making the offerings - it's a very colorful and gentle way to begin a morning walk. Good to see you.
Thanks,I like to watch just to get a sense I am there&love the carvings&offerings. I once stayed at Gandhi Ashram which includes meals. The son had taken over once his mum passed away&at that point was a bit neglected but ppl used to stay longterm&hopefully it has been given the care it deserves. Have you plans to travel elsewhere or head back to Oz for a while. I like how most Balinese are not influenced by westerners like in other countries&the commune living is lovely concept. Ubud definitely has the boomerang affect on me&in time would like to stay more longterm, cheers
Hi Betty. I plan to be here for another couple of months at least, then I'm not sure. There are many parts of Asia I enjoy but I always return for extended periods in Bali - it's that kind of place. I agree it's refreshing that the Balinese have retained their connection to culture in the face of western influence. good to see you.
I viewed the story of a lady who has spent 40 years residing in Java,I have never been.My niece is obsessed with Vietnam&wants to move there. However, whilst I like visiting far flung places,at my stage in life I prefer knowing that there is a hospital or airport not too far away.
@@bettyboop7426 I have to admit the relative closeness of Bali to Perth is definitely a consideration should we have the misfortune of falling ill and needing to get home quickly. It still feels like you're out there and traveling when in Bali, I find. I can completely understand how someone might live here for forty years or longer, it would be very easy, I think.

Hey there, Liz, a big Balinese suksma (Thank you) to you. A man could easily fall for a life in Bali, that's for sure. Thanks for saying hi, Liz.
