The best tip that I found useful is the weight distribution, I had no idea about this till I watched your video, I watched alot of videos about pop shove its and none of them talk about weight distribution, this video is very useful. Thanks alot,

dude seriously awesome tips you practically taught me my ollie on ur own this helped a lot KEEP MAKING THESE TRICK TIPS next maybe going to rail/5050 truck stand or varial/3 flip? pleaaaaseeee
hey mike, You are the only one who talked about tucking in your legs and i havnt tried it yet but i definatly think i will land the shove with both feet now. Thanks so much, great job =)
Another thing mike I kno trick tips take along time and u put ALLOT of work into them but maybe consider a rail flip trick tip it looks so sick but when I try it it just kinda falls over, much love keep up the good work
Ok, So I have been practicing pop shuvits for awhile, and for some reason I can either land with my front foot, but my back foot stays behind, or I can stay above the board the whole time but the board is to far left for me to land it, or it doesn't rotate. I highly doubt it's commitment, because my trucks have landed on my foot a few times, so that shows I'm jumping forward, and I know it's a lot more likely for me to get injured at attempting them then a bad landing.
I just went out after i saw this and did it , it took me like 60 tries and 2 falls but i can land it decently now thanks slowmo , i like your specificness:D
Thank you so much Mike!!! I landed first couple of shoves today after a loongg 2 weeks, spranged my ankle really bad in the process (XD)!! The keeping your center of balance really helped!!! :D
thanks for the reply! I suppose it's all about how 'comfortable/natural' it feels. when did you get a 'feel; for fliptricks? I have some requests, if you're not busy could you do tutorials on: fs shove-it, no comply, impossible, and how to hold a manual? thanks
Im not very consistent at it (doing down ledges) but i landed both of them down that ledge more than 10 times and when i filmed it it doesn't go of the ground (i hear the pop tho) Im pretty confident with them because i have them both 10/10 on flat
Thanks it was the front foot I can land some but I seem to always have my back foot on the ground sometimes it's in the air and sometimes it goes straight down after the scoop
Alright, just to make sure we are on the same page here, does the board stay with you when you go for the land? Like, the only problem you have is that your back foot goes straight to the ground once you start the trick, but the board stays with you nicely (it doesn't go too far anywhere), is this correct?
you realy pop that board high...another great video ,if the damn cold and wind can die i'll get my skating season back on track, couple of questions... are your trucks lose or tight, whats the size of your wheels? 50 mm ???? or bigger thanks
+ Harry Quantrill (I can't reply to you directly, if you want notifications from me in the future, check your youtube settings) Nah in the beginning it's fine to land like that. That's not an issue. I believe it could be how your weight is when you land it. If you land leaning too much towards your nose/tail, you will fall over. Make sure that you aren't leaning anywhere and that your weight is *always* between your two feet, right in the middle of your body. If your weight is not between your feet, that is considered leaning over (using common intuition right here, I'm just explaining it in a different way).
thanks! I decided to try fakie shove-its and I actually find them easier. Do you have a preference? I think the problem is that I don't always crouch/stand straight during the trick, resulting in bloody landings. ha.
Yea, my front foot only lands on the bolts or the middle of the board which I dont like cause I don't want it to snap. My foot I used to pop the board is where I started, meaning I pop the board, the board goes to the top-left (I'm regular) and my backfoot is where I originally started and popped the board. In other words, the board moves away from my starting position and my back foot is where I started.
Wow man, its true, I am always leaving my back foot behind because Im not committing a 100%. Ive tried to shove it like 2 hours and half last time I know I couldnt cause of the fear factor I put on my mind. Thank you a lot for this explanations.
+Marius Rubino (I can't reply to you directly, you should change your youtube settings if you want a notification that I have replied to you) Out of curiosity, do you tend to land with your feet together when you do pop shoves? Do you think that is the problem? Or, is it possible that you're leaning really weird when you land your pop shoves?
Gotta tuck those legs dude! Your feet should *always* be above the board at all times. So what you do is: pop the pop shove and everything, and then tuck your legs in so that your knees are close to your chest. _However_, this is pretty important here, you really don't want to tuck in your legs too much if you are a beginner. If you tuck too much, yeah you will be able to land it, but you may have a tendency to slip out when you land it. So try to tuck in as if you are sitting on a chair in the air; maybe that will work? Anything to make sure you tuck, but not too much really. Just make sure that your feet are *always* above the board at all times.
Hey thanks man I've been practising a bit more and I can land it two out of three times now, I've Also started trying to tuck in more and it works so I can do it much better now!!
I'm working on my pop shuvs and I catch them with my back foot but I seem to be more consistent with my back foot catch than my front foot catch pop shuvs.
Hi Mike, I have been practising my shoves and pop shoves for a while now, but I keep landing with my front foot of the board or on the front tail, and my back foot in the middle of the board, while practising both moving and stationary (I am goofy). I can make the board perfectly land in front of me with my front foot on, but when I wont to do it with both feet this happens. I think it's because my weight moves forward, like you said, but no mather how hard I try to keep my weight centered, I keep landing like this. I hope I explained everything well enough, sorry for the spelling mistakes, I'm Belgian. Can you please help me? Or give me some advice how to keep that weight centered? Thanks btw: I can send a video if necessary? *I posted this again, hope this isn't a problem?
carl walleghem i used to have this problem- if you watch super closely you’ll see almost everyone leans slightly back when they pop to compensate. You can also snap your back foot more forward (towards your front foot) which helps as well. Good luck!
