@@NeverStopImprovingSB I have to give you major props on this video. It could not be more thorough, enjoyable, and non-pretentious. You're not even filled with Satanic tattoos (Satanism = vanity as a virtue). And you STRESS SAFETY. My favorite part about the video is, 'Hey, let's go ahead and fall. Don't worry about it, you ARE GOING TO FALL AND IT'S OK. Let's do it.' I watch you land it and fall, and it's ok. Major fear totally HANDLED! You could not have done a better job!
I already know how to do this trick but I have to say this is a really solid tutorial. Especially for beginner tricks, holistic tutorials that also explain ways to overcome the mental barrier with practice falls or fake falls are really the next level in "skate didactics". It's really interesting to see how in the last years more and more skate tutorials start addressing these subtle but important points.
You are the MAN and I really appreciate your support and how forward thinking you are. Thanks so much for the feedback and I hope to see you in a future video 🔥
Learn how to fall is very important, specially in rotation tricks, I got a slam like 4 yrs ago in a backside big spin that got me in a mental block with some trick including the pop shove its, I'm starting to think about to use a helmet
I love the idea of doing practice falls. I'm a rock climber and we incorporate this into our warm-up. Makes perfect sense to get past that number one psychological hurdle.
I did beginner’s aikido and it helped tremendously with overcoming this fear. A big part of aikido is perfecting falls, rolls and tumbles. In turn my skateboarding got better.
To anyone wondering why this looks like a re-upload of the video I posted ~14 hours ago: It is a re-upload, but with an important section of information added (at 6:29) to explain that when you pop the trick, you have to jump forward towards your toes in order to stay over top of the board and be able to land on it with both feet. The previous upload was missing this information entirely, so I felt the need to make a new edit to fix the issue and make sure everyone has the best tutorial possible with all of the relevant information. Thanks to MrLethal1986 for pointing out the omission, and I hope everyone has success with this trick!!
Thanks a lot! Recently I was unable to land one. Maybe 1 out of 100 but really by luck. You helped a lot in the technique and learning. Also the steps to fake falling and jumping on the board has been very helpful too! I felt awkward doing so but my brain instantly accepted the motion and I landed the trick! Lastly, wearing gears is extremely helpful!!!
I absolutely love this faster tutorials you do thanks. As a beginner I can’t stand long videos so these shorter, more quick explanations have helped me so much. Appreciate it man.
Great content, your videos are so helpful. I like that you explain the actual physics of different tricks instead of just demonstrating. I'm still trying to nail my ollie before I do a pop shuvit but every time I always think of the way you explained how to ollie and it helps me to visualize what actually need to do.
Landed my first few pop shoves on Apr 11th. Now I'm just trying to get them consistent while moving. But a good tip I've found is to practice while moving because when I learned how to ollie I could only do it standing still and it took me a month or so to do them good while moving, Its the same with the pop shove it too, even though its a bit trickier
That's good advice! Never spend too long practicing a stepping-stone trick to the real thing; once you land a couple stationary, try some moving for sure! 🤙
when he warned me *to put a helmet and practice falling down* I really felt scared I fall and break my bone. But, I also learn from him a very very important lesson *" u can't really make it, until u learn it"* thanks for teaching me how to make an ollie, Pop Shuvit and more. And also u are really awesome for teaching all the people out there even if u got hate, u never give up. its really hard to find someone amazing like u! I really appreciate it. thanks once again. ❤
Haha I don't think I've ever said so many words in the span of 9 minutes in my entire life! Editing the subtitles was hell lol Anyways bro, good to hear from you again!
You’re great at explaining, but personally I don’t like the rush/ the learn this trick in x minutes. Skateboarding takes a lot of time, and that’s fine. No need to get frustrated if you don’t learn a trick in days of weeks, or months even. Practice, practice, practice. Patience is the name of the game 😉
This is the true mindset of a successful skateboarder. I decided to make a couple of videos like this to hopefully get some people who (for now) have a little bit shorter attention spans into the sport and 'hooked' on the progression and accomplishment you get from skateboarding, but I completely agree, the end goal is to be patient, be willing to cope with failure, and never give up on your goals (and eventually achieve them and way more!)

I just gotta land that back foot, and I’ve got it now. I can skip the step-off part of this, if I can only get that back foot back on after using it to rotate.
for the pop shuvit, having skate shoes isn't as important as for most other tricks since you aren't sliding your shoe along the grip tape. I think it could work!
