Dammit..I bought this thing when it was on it's super-cheap introductory offer, and promptly forgot about it...seeing Glenn and now you having such success with it, I really need to spend some quality time with it...
🤫
Thank you Adam.
Thanks. Seems great!
Great video ! Thank you doing that ^_^
Amazing! The question at the beginning is fair to ask because at the end the mix sounds massive and 'wow'. If it's possible to achieve that kind of results with PSP (which isnt the most known plugin maker brand), why should I even bother to look for anything else. The real question is- what are my priorities- to make the song sound good and give it a proper mix or to play around with a plugin and put it randomly on every track. We can even use both plugins Slate's and PSP and there's no shame in that. The same way there's no shame to make a brilliant turotial without using Slate's name in it making it all about PSP which was the point of whole video. :))
infini strip is pretty amazing . have you tried comparing it to mcdsp 6060 and slate VMR?
IT USE TO BE MY FAVORITE PLUGIN
Another video mixing drum samples. Shheeesh.
I used VMR for years, When I A B'd the two on an old mix, the PSP was far superior in clarity width and sharpness if that makes sense? I still use VMR for the modules PSP doesn't offer.ie distressor and the revival tilt eq. just my 2c
Cool😎
If I ask you which one is better PSP or slate VMR .... What will be your answer
How would you compare it to SSL channel strip plugins?
I'm thinking about buying the Brainworx SSL 9000 J - but in the end i will probably buy them both.
Completely different with a different aim. SSL is very clean and a little crunchy, PSP’s plug-in is much more versatile
@@adamsteelproducer Thanks. As i said, i probably buy both of them ;-)
Did you make any more videos with Jen Majura while she was there?
How does the 70's pre-amp compare to a Neve 1073? I ditched UAD, recently, and their amazing 1073 is the only thing I miss and can't replicate with native plugins. Thanks!
Sounds pretty good to my ears. I’ve always found the 73 pres to be a bit wooly, but your mileage may vary. The 73 EQ is very sweet though
@@adamsteelproducer thanks!
Arturia neve?
you use reaper???
Is it a one time purchase.. if so that pretty fkin tempting, was looking at slate, you may have changed my mind...
It is!
Soooo.. Do you think it beats VMR or not??
It’s different. For me they cover different ground and I’ve been using them both. As such, I’m probably the wrong person to give a definitive answer
@@adamsteelproducer Sorry for being rude... but I'm thinking that this is a direct competitor to the VMR.. having Neve preamps, Neve EQ (maybe even an equivalent of SSL?), VCA compressor, FET (1176) compressor.. all just like VMR..
Just value your opinion and the clip was named: "VMR Beater?" after all :)
Yes, I suppose so- they have similar components, but then the PSP offering has different modules and side chain support- but the Slate has ultra heavy compressors and the air EQ. They’re just different enough that one can appeal to the right person- or both in my case! 😂
I was thinking about McDSP 6050 but I think PSP...both Slate and McDSP needs iLok or iLok+internet connection which I hate. PSP use offline iLok manager...or am I wrong ?
I have internet disabled in my studio PC, I only switch on only when I need to activate some new plugin.
Sh*t like Bias or McDSP needs internet every time you fire up session, that means to be constant online or they switch to demo mode.
Middle finger to that kind of devs who treat me like a thief and force me to prove my license any time I fire up DAW session.
How about PSP ?
P.S. Thanks a lot for that fantastic presentation. Cheers
I legit thought this was Sam Pura, and that’s why I clicked
YYBY stamp this
of course you use reaper 😁
@@johnisrael5183 your point is what? and whats my point why i said what I said????
So... Slate or PSP?
Both are good, so it's up to you, and only you.
Yes, that’s the question!
@@adamsteelproducer I can't help but think that answer was deliberately vague 🤔😂
They want you to waste 30 minutes. F this shit.
You don't even bother to answer the question in the title of your vid. Come on, Adam.
The point of these videos is to ask the question, not answer it.
@@adamsteelproducer That's fucking ridiculous.
Really though? Not everything should have to be spelled out as if you're five. Slate VMR is the widest known channel strip plugin in this format, and by asking the question i'm bringing the Infinistrip into people's mindset so they are aware of it and can make their own minds up. I can't personally tell you that one is better than the other - because there's a good chance you'll disagree. If I let you make up your own mind then you can be far more educated on the matter and stronger in your convictions. So like i said above, the point is to ask the question, not answer it.
And by the way, if you're just going to be negative and petty then maybe you're best off not saying anything at all.

@youtube #youtube - Please make people post their REAL names and make them get Verified with their ID's so people won't be SO damn mean on here!
PSP has the cartoon complex GUI, leaving that, nowhere near as authentic as Slate in terms of emulation quality
the most important thing is how it sounds, and psp puts little emphasis on the gui because the idea is that giving you a channel strip without much CPU for all your channels
@@Soundart001 i have done side by side A/B with Slate, PSP.
PSP's compressors are just the stock compression with manipulated envelopes..
Nowhere near the authentic sounds of Slate, which is almost there in neck with hardware.
