See this guys? Wytse is putting out dope content every day almost. What are you doing huh? If you are not liking, subscribing and patreoning(?) what are you even doing with your life
For many of us, these analogue looking interfaces - with all the screws and handles and lights - make music production a lot more fun. Very few things give me more pleasure than tweaking the UAD Fairchild 670, for example (I have no life and that helps...) Good sound is one thing, but the whole creative experience is what keeps me going and experimenting. I like this analogue looking trend and would not want to see it go anytime soon. Although I like other, digital/experimental looking interfaces just as much. So anyway, we get your point about this, but I think most people see this differently, so we consider your constant complaining about this as entertaining sarcasm, rather than not understanding the purpose.
Best Strip in a long time! He forgot to say that is also very easy to change the order in between modules . Sounds huge and very analog if needed. Trust me ! I work in front of a Neve everyday ;)
Cool video! As an e-engineer i love analog gear but also good plugins. Opto dynamic gear use a LDR (light depending resistor) couppled with a lightsource. In old hardware small Lightbulbs were useed, but today they are using LED's to change the resistance of the LDR. But the LDR work in the opposite direction! They have a high (in the megohm range) dark-resistence and a low resistence (normaly 20-200 ohm)at max. brightness. In terms of speed they need a long time to reach the dark-resistance, but they "switch" relativley fast to the low-resistance, and therefore have this beautiful analog attack and release character.
In 1989 I worked on a SSL 9000+. What a beast! The built-in Mac system is kind of a joke these days but it was awesome for the time. Amazing how much juice the power supply needed. I would love to have a good emulation of it. I have the Waves version and it sounds close on many things, the master bus compressor just doesn't cut it. Keep up the great work you're doing. I have learned much from your channel. To you and your family, stay safe.
McDSP has a very similar strip channel and even the same idea of switching and comparing different modules. It’s been released several years ago and even looks very very similar 😂
OMG this sounds great! Think of the preamp as a saturation knob, or colour knob! The way you can switch with the settings staying the same! This thing sounds amazing!!!!! I WANT IT!!!
PSP make some great stuff. After trying absolutely tons of different EQs, I found that two of the absolute best were the Fabfilter ProQ and the PSP ClassicQ. The former was excellent for clean, transparent EQing - along with mid/side tricks - and I even used to automate the Lowpass and high pass filters a lot for creative tricks, as they sounded like the most precise, liquidy synthesiser filters if tweaked correctly. The ClassicQ then gave me the other flavour I needed - a “character” EQ. not only that, but the built in saturation on the output could drive signals, and also fatten them up by limiting them. You could really transform a thin source signal with this plugin. I bet the new stuff is just as good
Why do I hate pro q? Can u try to help me figure that out? 🤣 its honestly a great eq in terms of what u can do with it but imo it makes everything sound thin and almost stereo-ish.. is there a certain setting im not using or what? Even the ableton eq seems better but guys like white sea live for the pro q. I dont get it at all.
Fantastic plugin from a fantastic company. People underestimate PSP, but they were producing brilliant analog modelled plugins when UAD were still just modelling curves. No comparison to Waves, PSP are in an entirely different league.
PSP its a very underrated plugin company. I own the Classic Q which its an emulation of a Neve eq...they dont say what eq unit in specific but you can tell by the bands ....and it sounds amazing on snare drums and kicks. Even entire drum buss.
I have used both and in my opinion slate sounds really warm and nice. This however in my opinion is made to speed up the mixing process, having said that it absolutely worth the price. I would choose Plugin alliance bundle over slate for character.
Deffo try out the Scheps Omni Channel, it's genuinely amazing! And yes it also does the switching compressor styles and keeping levels as others have mentioned etc... And even has two full frequency de-essers which is dead useful! Would love to see your reviews / take on it! I get the idea with this one of only putting in modules that you're using and being able to switch them etc but just looks a bit messy if you're only using a couple where as the Scheps Omni Channel is all there all the time and just turn the right bits on, dead easy to see an over view of everything... plus sounds great! Nice video though, as always!
Would be interested in your thoughts about channel strips vs discrete plugins - it doesn't seem obvious that a channel strip is the best way to organise the particular sequence of effects, so seems to be more about trying to draw a parallel with analog world.
This plugin came to mind straight away '6030 Ultimate Compressor Native Compressor by McDSP' where I believe you can keep the setting and swap between many styles of comp. Funny I started out using all PSP back in '06, got some great advice from Mateusz back then, when all my mixes tended to be bass heavy - good company, might be attracted back to them with this
Wytke what do you think of the Eventide Newfangled EQuivocate 26 band eq based on the human ear? I ended up liking it so much i picked their mastering bundle 'Elevate'. there is a saturator- not to mention, it is very intelligent. like you can solo each band out change the q for each band reduce or add bands, take away obtrusive sounds slightly elevate pleasant ones. very simple yet understandable UI i dare say it rivals ozone9 just diff algorythms, i like that you can control 26 bands of compresson and can change the limiting curve,. i dig ur shirts ima hafta get one that match RASTA colors lol. much love thanks for all your work
Very cool. Reminds me of the great work TBProAudio did with their CS-5501 channel strip. It does the same thing as far as keeping the settings when you switch between different styles of EQ or compressor. The CS-5501 is not as graphically oriented. You change the routing order of the FX in a chain along the side, so you don't have to worry about dropping screws when you change your routing. The CS-5501 only lets you use 13 total components, though. Apparently, this one is infinite, though I don't know how great the quality could be if you have a huge number of FX trying to run at zero latency. This scares me, because we're not getting oversampling so it will have that crispy, digital sound from the foldback artifacts.
Nice review thank you. The layout is almost similar to Schepps Omni Channel. Quite identical actually.. However I also like PSP's plug ins. Maybe I'll check this one out. Thanks again.
That switching the module while remaining the settings is pretty unique and the one thing that makes it interesting imo. What is also pretty unique and interesting is that they now have a special intro price, then after that they have another special intro price before they go to to normal price lol. MJUC isn't a channel strip, just a compressor, but it switches between models in a similar fashion. U-he presserk does too - kind of? (I think it might actually just toggle the interface controls)
Hey! Like your channel man. Would be nice that I could her the change in sound by turning the plugin on and off. It’s not so easy to hear when you only change the parameters. Anyway, good work :)
It's not meant to emulate the color of an analog circuit (in terms of saturation or frequency response) but the FF Pro-C 2 does recreate the most common compression behaviours and comparing the attack-release curves and "grab" of the different topologies while keeping (mostly) the same settings is easy-peasy. I know you know it, but you forgot :)
'we' need a pre-amp when everything is being made 'in-the-box'. I don't record anything outside the pc, so 'that' pre-amp sound is really handy in those cases :)

I know this doesn’t have much to do with this game. More about the psp system itself, but if you could please answer that would mean a lot I’ve been trying to figure this out. My question is I just purchased a psp and it’s set to come a charger And battery. But I heard a lot of people charge their batteries... I was wondering if I would need to buy a psp charger battery in order to properly use the psp. Or wjll my battery automatically recharge everytime I plug it in the charger cable into my psp? Which means I don’t have to buy no “charger for the barrery”... btw your videos are amazing Keep up the good work!

I've always wanted that when you change from one EQ plugin to another that it would keep the same EQ or compressor etc. At least as many of the same setting it can. This should have been done decades ago. It's the same with guitar amp sims, you change from one amp to another they always change the settings, keep them the same so we can hear the difference with the same settings.
