I think I'm 90% in agreement here. I honestly didn't recollect christ illusion so I had to go listen to it just now to remind myself (came out at a time when I was not really actively listening to slayer much at that time so it went over my radar for a while) but I think you placed that one right. Only adjustments for me I might move South of Heaven up to S tier and God Hates us All to A tier. I know that makes my rankings for this kind of 'top heavy' but honestly - Slayer is a fantastic band with a strong discog so yeah .. top heavy rankings it is!

That one really depends on which generation you belong to. I was a teen when RIB came out, so the first 5 albums are classics to me. I did listen to everything that came out after, but I have no desire whatsoever to revisit again anything after that. The last 3 albums felt that really forced trying to re-capture the vibe/magic from the old days (apply this to the latest Metallica albums). Although some old bands (Testament, Exodus, Overkill...) still have that fire !

You did Devine Intervention dirty. I definitely have to listen to Christ Illusion again, that’s way up there for what I remember. Repentless at least gets front of the line on C tier, prefer it over WPB . ✌🏽
Love the Christ Illusion love. One of my favorite slayer albums. I don’t think I’d put it quite as high as you did but it’s certainly up there. Don’t love how low Divine Intervention is tho :(

I love like 5 songs from that album. I used to rage that crap in my little Neo-Geo Prism. Sharpest turner I've ever had.
I would give similar ranking ; though I'd place Hell Awaits on the S tier, this one is my all time favourite. I also love Show No Mercy, that would be between S and A. And somehow... I also kind of like Repentless, who would be somewhere between A and B.

I like Slayer, but I kinda feel like once you’ve heard one song of theirs you’ve heard 90% of their discography. At least from what I’ve heard of Slayer’s, which admittedly isn’t a whole lot, but that may change soon, I’ve been getting into them more and more over the past few months.

I think Dittohead is one of their best songs ever, and there are at least 5 killer tracks on that album, though I agree the production is off and it should be remixed. It should also be seen - I believe - in its time and you can see the similarities with f.i. Seputura’s Chaos AD, Obituary’s World Demise, and Machine Head’s first two albums: thrash/death metal bands getting a little more hardcore sounding and political, just before Korn took over and Sepultura, Slayer, and Machine Head (Obituary thankfully never went Nu Metal, but did lose their way for a while) never really sounded the same again (though I agree Christ Illusion was a great return to form!).
World Painted Blood is my #5, after the classics RiB, Hell Awaits, SitA and SoH. They are in fact the only Slayer albums I listen to + Haunting The Chapel EP.

Listen I love Hell Awaits so much musically, but they really need to remix and remaster that puppy. I hate the production of that album. Imagine hearing Hell Awaits with a better production sonically... Fuck the remake of Megadeth's "Killing is My Business..."; that album didn't need a remaster in my opinion. Hell Awaits ABSOLUTELY DOES though. Even Show No Mercy had better mixing and mastering. Now I'm no fan of perfectly clean production always. For instance Chemical Warfare EP was perfect for the songs on it! But Hell Awaits is too much of a progressive album for that dirty, tinny, reverb:y sound.
A friend of mine claims that every Slayer album is absolutely flawless but I disagree. I didn't really like divine intervention or undisputed attitude, with Diabolus in Musica I was kinda like meh. Every other album is pretty much mandatory listening in my book.

S.O.H. Does not deserve to be south of s tier. S.O.H., Seasons In The Abyss, Christ Illision, Reigning Blood, and God Hates Us All (no particular order) belong in my top 5 Slayer albums
I'd move Divine Intervention up one to B, not just for the music but for the picture on the CD of the guy's arms with words Slayer carved in each arm. Undisputed Attitude was undisputed trash for me, F tier for that one.
World painted blood is really low in your ranking. I think its main flaw is Tom's delivery, for the first time I feel he's being tongue in cheek, other than that it's almost as good as Christ Illusion.
I think I would (personally) put World Painted blood above Divine. I keep hearing people say "dittohead", but it feels so forced, like they needed a "fast song" on the album, almost like "dyers eve" on Justice, just forced thrash and not natural (although I still prefer Dyers Eve)

I do really like Christ Illusion a lot. Definitely their best album since Seasons.
World Painted Blood annihilated Illusion though. Americon was so bad but the rest of the album felt like Seasons for a newer generation
Hell Awaits is my personal favorite. It’s a good mix of old and raw with some of the styles they would utilize in Reign in Blood.

Reign in Blood, South of Heaven and Seasons in the Abyss is the perfect unofficial thrash trilogy.
I'd say Ride the Lightning, Puppets and Justice were better. But if it has been Hell Awaits, Reign in Blood and Seasons, then it'd be harder.

World Painted Blood is my #5, after the classics RiB, Hell Awaits, SitA and SoH. They are in fact the only Slayer albums I listen to + Haunting The Chapel EP.

I think im the only one but i liked hell awaits and south of heaven better than reign in blood..... probably cause i heard that album a fuckin million times but dont get me wrong its damn good but not their only great material

Well the similarity with World Painted Blood and newer Metallica albums is most likely because they have the same engineer/producer. Greg Fidelman.
Listen I love Hell Awaits so much musically, but they really need to remix and remaster that puppy. I hate the production of that album. Imagine hearing Hell Awaits with a better production sonically... Fuck the remake of Megadeth's "Killing is My Business..."; that album didn't need a remaster in my opinion. Hell Awaits ABSOLUTELY DOES though. Even Show No Mercy had better mixing and mastering. Now I'm no fan of perfectly clean production always. For instance Chemical Warfare EP was perfect for the songs on it! But Hell Awaits is too much of a progressive album for that dirty, tinny, reverb:y sound.
There is only Slayer album I can listen to start to finish, no skips - South of Heaven.

Seasons in the Abyss is my top S tier album and I know its sacrilege but Diabolus in Musica is top of the A list for me.

A friend of mine claims that every Slayer album is absolutely flawless but I disagree. I didn't really like divine intervention or undisputed attitude, with Diabolus in Musica I was kinda like meh. Every other album is pretty much mandatory listening in my book.
Repentless isn't awful in my opinion, but you made good points.

Impressively no actual bad albums, not even Wolrd Painted Blood is bad nor even just ok, it is good at it's own, but what makes it the lowest it's the fact that it is pretty boring.
S.O.H. Does not deserve to be south of s tier.

Id put God Hates Us All at A tier over Christ Illusion and for me Hell Awaits deserves to be at S tier
I'd move Divine Intervention up one to B, not just for the music but for the picture on the CD of the guy's arms with words Slayer carved in each arm. Undisputed Attitude was undisputed trash for me, F tier for that one.
World painted blood is really low in your ranking. I think its main flaw is Tom's delivery, for the first time I feel he's being tongue in cheek, other than that it's almost as good as Christ Illusion.
I’m sure plenty other people like it. I just feel like comparatively it doesn’t have as much to offer
I think I would (personally) put World Painted blood above Divine. I keep hearing people say "dittohead", but it feels so forced, like they needed a "fast song" on the album, almost like "dyers eve" on Justice, just forced thrash and not natural (although I still prefer Dyers Eve)

Reign In Blood, South Of Heaven and Seasons In The Abyss is the Slayer trilogy, the must have Slayer albums.

Christ illusion is my favorite. Possibly my favorite thrash album but I don’t listen to much thrash
