Awesome video! Nile are always one of my most favourite bands in the genre. Annihilation of the Wicked is my personal favourite. I'm looking forward to their new album as well.
Oh how I missed this! Lots of luck and fun with this new channel 🤘 Regarding Nile „Annihilation..“ and „Those whom…“ are my go to albums. Although I definitely agree, they didn’t release a bad one so far.
What a video to start off with! Nile is one of my favorite bands. Had a guitar lesson with Karl one time they played here, absolutely lovely dude. I'm only a couple minutes into the video, so I don't know where you're going, but if I have anything to "complain" about with Nile, it is that they are starting to repeat themselves a bit much for me. Kinda like with Meshuggah. It's fucking awesome still, but both bands uses to absolutely blow me away when they released a new album. Now it's "oh a new album, it's awesome" but it's not blowing my mind anymore. I'd love to see them doing something really, really different!
Karl seems like a great guy. A lot of the death metal guys seem to be really cool actually. I think there must be something about getting out all the aggression with the music that makes them so cool to be around
@@ThatMetalBloke Dude, that is absolutely true. Even with myself, playing metal helps keep me sane, calm and happy. And helps me try to keep the mental health sort of ok... 🤘🤘🤘
So good to have you back mate! Been following for a while, glad you come back with the enthusiasm 😊 First off, love new channel! If you get membership up I'd pay for you to do random reviews sent in by members. Second, agree completely with tier list! In Darkened is my fav Nile album but they really do deliver. Looking forward to more content 🤘
Great vid (subbed!) and I'd pretty much agree with all of it though I'd have Annihilation as #1. For me, that is hands down the best death metal album of all time. I saw Nile on Saturday and they killed it. Crazy to think Karl Sanders is 61 and still slaying! Hope he has many years left with Nile (and well, in life, ha).
Good stuff. I think this is roughly how i would rank them as well. The first four albums are a legendary run imo, with everything afterwards being solid and "Those Whom the Gods Detest" being a bit better than the other post-Annihilation batch.
@@ThatMetalBloke mostly in line with the other newer stuff, although does a better job avoiding the "songs blend together" problem. kind of wish it would go with a deliberately rougher production, but that is a problem i have with a lot of new death metal.
Not familiar with Nile but this is why I love your vids I get to try something new. I have a long drive tomorrow to give them a good listen. would your two top picks be good starting points for newbies like myself?
Nice to have you back mate. A lot of music to discuss 🤘 In regards to Nile, I would highly recommend any of the first 4. It really depends on whether you like death metal?
Good video, Nile have an extremely solid discography up there with the likes of Immolation in that regard. In their darkened shrines is my number 1 though. Those whom the gods detest is my second. Regardless, cool video and I really appreciate that you actually talk about the songs and it's clear you actually listen and care. Some channels who I won't name seem to just pump out videos with almost no substance to them. Good stuff 🤘
Love your presentation for sure ! Yep, Catacombs is outstanding, maybe coz it's straight to the point, as well as being creative, unique, and less OTT as their subsequent releases (which I love....lots)
I'm a huge fan of both bands so I can guarantee it. I will do Morbid Angel some time this year but I will probably hold back on Cannibal to coincide with their next album 🤘
It is impossible for me to get it down to five but I love Immolation, Dying Fetus, Hypocrisy, Bloodbath, Bolt Thrower, Nile, Obituary, Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse, Asphyx (some more than others), Slugdge, 200 Stab Wounds, Arise from Worms and also Napalm Death who I know are grindcore but they are one of my favourite bands of all time (and a shameless plug for my album ranking I'm doing of theirs next week) There are tons of others but those are some I've spent a lot of time with
Good to see you back my friend I will be enjoying your videos and also i run a music based Facebook group and we do a Metal Monday so i will share your videos on there. We are not the biggest music group so your views wont drastically change because of this but if you get one or two more subscribers then that will be good. We do ranking the albums series in our group but it is not just metal we cover . Will you be going to one of the Opeth's shows next year? i want to go to the Manchester one Anyway WELCOME BACK
Thanks for the support Chris. I will make sure I mention your chat group in one of my videos. Probably best to let the channel pick up some steam before I do so that I can give you maximum exposure. Make sure you remind me 🤘 No plans to see Opeth as of yet but I will let you know if that changes.
I have knever heard this band. Defintly will check them out.. I know you are mainly a metal reaction. But i saw on a few of your reviews. You are or were a Queen Fan.(so am I) Would love to see to see a tier list of Queen. If you feel inclined to do so.
Glad to happen upon another Nile album review (I came here from your Underworld review)....although there aren't many out there. Up front, I've been a fanboy for 20+ years, and Karl & crew are my all time favorite DM band. In my opinion, they do NOT have a bad record, and it's only a matter of opinion amongst the diehard fan base. Having said that, 99% of the population always puts AOTW at the top of their list, but I never did. I can agree with INDT being in the top 3. As for the rest, I'm quite surprised at your thoughts on the Nile discography. I completely disagree with you on your Ithyphallic placement (my personal favorite Nile record), and am shocked at your ATGOS placement....criminally underrated and over-hated album (in my personal top 3). Either way, cool video. \m/
Glad you dig the videos. I think there is very little in it between their worst and best albums because, like you say, they are ALL amazing. Was a very difficult one to rank 🤘
I like Vile Nilotic rights better than the new album. The new album is certainly a Nile album but its kind of bland. Vile had a lot more new energy to it, and Underworld seems like it fell back to the old nile. I'm not quite sure where I would put it though. But I would also put Vile at A or even S tier. I also need to listen to the new one a few more times.
This may be the first time I've subscribed to a channel before watching a video. Welcome back!
Cheers bro. Hopefully you won't regret it 😂
Awesome video! Nile are always one of my most favourite bands in the genre. Annihilation of the Wicked is my personal favourite. I'm looking forward to their new album as well.
Nile are amazing. Think the new album is gonna be a banger 🤘
I don’t know about anyone else, but to me Nile is the epitome and the pinnacle of Death Metal.
Great video!
One of the top death metal bands for sure. Stand out from the others
The beard is even mightier than before. Welcome back!
Cheers bro. Great to be back 🤘

Glad you enjoyed it bro. Very difficult ranking with such a consistent discography. Such a great band 🤘
Been too long. Brilliant to have you back sir 🎉
Cheers mate. Great to be back 🤘
great to have you back!...excellent ranking
Thanks a lot. Much appreciated 🤘

In all honesty, there is very little difference for me in terms of quality of their first four albums. Phenomenal band.
Glad you enjoyed the video 🤘
Welcome back! Good to see you again!
It is fantastic to be back my friend 🤘
cool video/rank
I'm not the biggest metalhead around but I remember listening to nile for the first time
they blew me away
I enjoy their music a lot. Fantastic death metal band and opened my eyes to heavier music 🤘
Love the new album! Fave songs so far - "Doctrine Of Last Things" "Lament For The Destruction Of Time" and the title track!!!
Loved this album. Strong contender for album of the year 🤘
I didn't like At the Gates of Sethu when it first released, but lately I've come around to it, and now I genuinely love it.
Fantastic album
Good stuff. I think this is roughly how i would rank them as well.

Locked and loaded my bearded brother, lets go
Best review channel starts now
Thanks a lot bro. Much appreciated 🤘
Amongst the Catacombs for life ! But seriously, Nile haven't offered up anything less than a beautifly crafted and adventurous album.
I really enjoy that album. Got a vibe to it all it's own 🤘
Love your presentation for sure !

@@TomBajor Cheers. Glad you enjoyed the video. I love a lot of the hardcore elements of the album that is prevalent in a lot of the breakdowns.
I think Shrines is their peak.
Best mix of atmosphere, brutality, and EPIC.
Amazing album for sure. New one is great too 🤘
I love the debut quite a bit. Darkened shrines is great - ithyphalic is boss and new album is amazing 🔥 must get around to ranking Nile myself!
Very difficult discography to rank as they are all awesome to be fair. Love this band 🤘
Would love to see you do the Morbid Angel and Cannibal Corpse discogs! Deadly channel dude, looking forward to seeing more :)

shrines is perfection
Agreed
not a huge Nile fan, however I'm here supporting the channel!

I don't own them all but the ones I do have are on CD. If I started getting into collecting vinyl I would have no money
