Why is Lil Wayne missing from this list?
Waycism!
This list is about mere mortals. Lil wayne is a god of guitar
Air guitar doesn't count. Otherwise Bill and Ted would be S tier.
This is why I shouldn’t read the comments as I watch! 😡😤🤬😖😣😠👿😾. 😆
You just disappointed me before I even started the video, thanks bro.....
This list is cap. The real way to rank guitarists is by the amount of pedals.
Less is more.
Same goes for drummers
Here's the thing..
By pure definition, more is more good sir. @GuitarGuy4647
Cue a list of shoegaze guitarists that nobody knows by name
this is a comment for the sake of engagement.
It’s not much but it’s honest work
I do !
I disagree!
This is a reply to further the engagement
This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius
If Frusciante comes to the barbecue, be prepared for him to crash at your house for a week.
Most homeless rich guy to ever live
Frusciante in but Morello out?
and if he brings Anthony, make sure you hide your kids
Finn has two moods: Nu Metal and hating Tom Morello
While looking and dressing like him
The perfect combination
Tim Henson looks like the chiseled Squidward from that one episode when Squidward was hot
Yes, but somehow still an infinity better looking version.
Ive seen a ton of girls who look like tim Henson
Tim Henson is the best Japanese woman to pick up a guitar.
He looks like a gorgeous woman
it's Handsome Squidward
As a local guitarist of slightly above average skill, and minor repute, I am here to be angry and indignified over the lack of (my) inclusion on this list.
Do you get paid in IPAs?
You happen to be from Gallatin County, or Bozeman to be more specific? 😅 do we know each other maybe? 🤘🎶🏴☠️
I had you at a solid B.

So far above this list he can't even see the list!
He’s hosting his own bbq and he’s on the grill 👍
@@HiroBrown I want to go to HIS BBQ
I’ve actually met Jerry, he’s a cool and chill guy. Our interaction was like 30 seconds but still
You can poke this BBQ, I'd rather go down the pub with Dave, Kerry and Dimebag. Nobody wants Tom Morello around them lol
Tom DeLonge would ABSOLUTELY be invited to my BBQ!
He would think HE'S the host and do all the cooking, serving and entertaining!
But what does he have to do with a video about guitarists?
@@needfoolthings He is Blink's guitarist and has honestly written some great riffs over the years.
Get wasted and talk about aliens? Count me in.
Tim Henson is the guy that will show up for a couple hours and leave before you bring out the S’mores because of some cooler event he has to get to
I think Mateus Asato and Tosin Abasi sprinted so Tim Henson could move at supersonic speed
Please do a part 2 and include the fact that during their album recording session, John Petrucci was casually out hosting a barbeque outside. Man is an S tier guitarist, amazing player and he can grill.
Tom would make everyone bring something of equal value to the BBQ
Based?
Tom Morello is certainly the "Communism works in theory" guy
Yeah, but. The problem is that in America are currently Reaganomics aren’t working for the people either. But if you suggest anything different to that you’re labeled at the communist.

@@christiankoll1528 Like I said he is the "communism works in theory" guy
He’s more like the “Lockheed Martin says trans rights” guy.
With the Dime thing, I'm not going to make excuses for him to using that word. All I'm going to say is that his path to redemption was cut off. Mike Williams from Eyehategod used to wear rebel flags, but he has since denounced them because he does not like the way people feel when they see it. Something he said he knew nothing about until he took a trip to New York and someone told him what it meant to the rest of the country. Dime didn't get that opportunity to learn what that word meant to people not in his vacuum. I think if he was alive today, he would not have been impressed with himself in that moment. He would likely denounce that video and his use of that word. Unfortunately, that opportunity was taken from him, so I don't really see the value of judging Dime in the early 2000s through the lens of today. Especially since he is no longer here. People are complicated. Good people can do awful things. Bad people can do great things.
Amen, man. I think in this modern day and age, we have forgotten as a society that people are so damn complicated. We have lost nuance.
I honestly don't think Dimebag was a racist but was just a good-old-boy who grew up saying things he didn't really understand or conceive to be racist and they just became a part of his own personal vernacular, but never meant them in a way that he intended to hurt anyone.
I'm not saying being from Texas is an excuse but I've known LOTS of white people in this state who have always been cool with me being Hispanic and with people of other races and who I consider to be great friends but still love the idea of "southern" pride and ways of living.
It's complicated and messy but I've known many people like Dimebag that are honestly good people who just say the wrong shit carelessly but without hate or malice.
@@PeteOliva Yeah, I agree. A lot of people don't realize that the Confederate flag wasn't as offensive then as it is now. The shift happened after the riot in Charlottesville. Before that, yes, racists used it as a symbol of racism, but a lot of southern boys just saw it as a symbol of the south. Especially after Lynyrd Skynard used it so much in their imagery. The thing about Dime, he filmed everything. He always had a camera with him. And out of all of the hours of film we have on him, this is the only indiscretion. And the hypocrisy hasn't escaped me. You couldn't play XBox live back in the day without some white dude using that word, but now all of a sudden those people disappeared, and now they clutch their pearls when they hear someone say it, lol.
100% Dude. I don’t condone his use of the word either, but he’s not here to defend himself/take responsibility/make amends etc. And the reason he’s not here is he had his brains blown out onstage 20 years ago. So to go after him in a video and refer to him as “not a cool person” is kind of odd imho. Based on every fan encounter I’ve ever read, Dime was said to be one of the kindest, good-hearted people in music.
That's a lotta words
Dear Lord, It's just a word. How tf did we as a society get here? What matters is the context of the words we use: was he saying it as an insult at a black guy's face? And let's not forget the double standard; thousands of tiktok videos out there of BLM supporters being ostentatiously racist, but it's no big deal. Do we seek equality or revenge?
No Mark Tremonti!? The dude was pretty much the pillar of the entire post modern grunge era (Nickelback, 3 Doors Down, Cold, Hinder, Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, the list goes on). 3 successful bands (Creed, Alter Bridge, Tremonti, guest appearances, and an honorable mention to the Sinatra solo stuff). Influenced a large generation of modern guitarists and basically brought back the guitar solo on modern radio with "Open Your Eyes." Like wtf Finn?! But that aside, thanks for the list, it was fun.
Tremonti is so damn Good.
He's even a Good Singer I'd say.
Mark Tremonti ‘tremonster’ is such a technically skilled lead guitarist, who also plays iconic clean intros and awesome riffs!
Add to that, he is legit humble and seemingly an all round nice guy, who doesn’t even try to be a glory hound. Great guitar player, and an awesome potential BBQ guest!
@@RB-oc7ti *Clean Intros* Yess ... His *Intros* are probably my Favorite Guitar Intros of all time

"Is Tom Morello invited to the BBQ? Absolutely fucking not." 🤣
His delivery was perfect
And Dimebag is most definitely invited to the BBQ. I’m not excusing use of the hard R, it is not okay. But newsflash, I’m willing to bet every single one of those old school metal dudes from the 80s-90s threw around the hard R or have at the very least used it before. Saying he wasn’t a good person just because he said that is a bit far I think. Again, not saying it’s okay. But i have literally never heard a single person who met dime regardless of race or what have you has ever had a bad word to say about the guy. You could say that’s because of how he died, but people don’t have all nice things to say about Lennon (for good reason) and he went out almost the same way.
Just say u racist gang
@@ithaanmuhammad7908 not at all. It’s actually is a big disappointment because I love pantera but it makes me cringe to see. He’d absolutely deserve to get checked for it. But he’s making it sound like Dime was a piece of shit human being which I also don’t think is true necessarily. But am I really surprised that a guy from Texas that was born in the 60s casually throws that word around? No, I’d be more surprised if he didn’t tbh. But since Dime isn’t here to defend himself, I don’t think saying he’s he was a terrible person is very cool either. You missed the point of my comment entirely lol.
@@SupaSavage24 well he said the n word hard r there is literally no connotation where that’s anything but racist regardless of his background 😭😭😭. So idrgaf if he calls him a bad person cuz he is

I love that you said that about Wes Borland. I was not a fan until literally about 3 months ago. A live show of the band came on and I saw his playing and went down a rabbit hole emerging a fan.
Part of me is sad that John Petrucci isn't here.
The other part of me understands.
Easy B-tier, maybe even A-tier: he's gonna show up, laugh at some jokes, talk about being a dad, bring some sodas and chips, and just generally bring the vibe of "High School Teacher, off the clock" to your party.
Update: recent information has been brought in to make him S-tier. Grilling is an S-tier BBQ trait.
He's actually S tier if you saw the documentary about the recording of Distance over Time or the music video for Untethered Angel. The man can grill!
John Petrucci is *B* Tier WTF ?
Man's got ridiculous Guitar Skills, at least has to be *S+* Tier
@@SIRebrum woah, not what I meant.

Nobody has to make excuses for Dimebag because he's dead. Who knows what he'd be like here in 2024, maybe he grows into an upstanding bbq worthy human being. Then again maybe not. We still use Pantera as our NHL theme down here
Tom would show up the BBQ and demand that you know who he is, and then slap an old lady for wearing a Maga hat.

Wes is seriously underrated. His costumes were because he was a visual artist and had to stop when limp bizkit took off. So he got to use his art stuff on his costumes. As for the list, you missed per nillson and jeff loomis?
Idk about calling Dave a racist based on what he said about Obama. I’d need more. There’s a difference between throwing the N word around and not liking/trusting or saying things about a politician.
Yeah never got the sense that Dave is racist. He's definitely into conspiracy theories though and hey that might actually make for some fun conversations at a BBQ
I love you brother! You're list is amazering😊
Great chill show Finn - cracked me up when you got to Tim Henson’s review! It may be another tier, but the humour and dialogue is still 10/10❤

I remember when i saw Tim Hensen for the first time and i was like fuck you nobody that good at guitar is allowed to be that hot. He's supposed to be a short pudgy balding guy in his mid 40s.

He still has time to become the archetype.

Another awesome video
I randomly ran into Kerry King last week in NYC at a bar and he was chill af… and I’m a minority.
Yes I met Kerry aswel back in 2002
I met Kerry in a vegas casino when I was like 16 years old. Guy couldn't have been cooler to some young kid approaching him and his lady while they were just trying to chill. He took a picture with me and gave me a hard slap on the back. Kerry will always be good with me
I've heard a lot of stories that he's a good dude. Definitely different from his media persona.
I love ALL your tier lists Finn, never stop them. Just hilarious.
EVH Is the King
He literally changed everything when it comes to guitar
You are 💯 on Morello. No one wants a Debbie downer at their BBQ
Is this a Reupload? I am having a huge dose of deja vu watching this!
The sysnister Gates dad chat and Kerry king chat seems super familiar?!
I know I heard the bit about Dime and got sour faced the first time. I wish he would've lived to see and admit the error of his ways if he was truly racist (kinda hard to refute)
Finn after you do videos like this you should post little polls on the community page for us to vote who we think should get to come too.
My vote would be for Slash. His soulful style and the emotion he puts into every note, along with his proficiency, make him a cut above the rest. And he’s clean now, he would have some great stories for the barbecue. But better bring some extra burgers because I’m sure he can put down quite a few.
Dunno, he's not a great talker, bit of an introvert, he would've been a lot more fun in his drinking days
Kirk Hammet seems like he might be fun
Talking comics and horror movies
It would be cool to just do a tier list about awesome BBQ guests and nothing else. It would be the top of the tier list for tier lists.

What I really want out of this channel is a Barbecue Grill and Accessories tier list
Is there a guitar teir list?
Wes Borland would be really quiet and overly courteous at the barbecue. If you run out of ribs, he'd offer the ribs off his plate to people who already eaten more than him. Then during charades he'd go absolutely wild.
Tim Henson would steal your wife and end up in a committed forty year marriage with her.
It'd be interesting to see if John Sykes (Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy, Tygers of Pan Tang, etc) would even appear. Heck you'd have to have a search party or milk carton of 'Have you seen me' to even contact him (and finish his solo album).
Hey Finn could you do a video on poison the well growing up in the scene in the early 2000s they were a huge influence on so many bands and got so many people into hardcore and metalcore
Ok, we're getting quite far through the video. Something is wrong if Mick Thompson and Jim Root aren't included. They work off each other perfectly, Disasterpiece from the Disasterpieces DVD for example. All the noises they make into intros and tracks. Surfacing is another great one, and The Heretic Anthem where Mick is playing and then Jim slides in to join (All Disasterpieces)
what about a boob shaped guitar

You mention that the start of the video that viewers seem to more interested in guitars than boobies .. May I suggest you do a tier list of best and worst boobies and we'll see in real time if the reaction is more on the outrage side of things or another reaction ..?
“Dave Mustaine silent on the topic of Metallica” lol
Yea what the hell this dude don't know shit.
i sleep with my guitar mostly bcuz im too lazy to put it back in the case
Fav guitarist but no invite to the BBQ = F tier? Seems musical ability is very much secondary. Also, Dime was, by all reports, the nicest and most welcoming dude in any band no matter who you were.
For me, i keep coming back to this channel for more tier lists about who finn is inviting to his barbecue. Definitely seems like the kind of barbecue i wanna be at
Finn, my dude…. your down to earth intellect is what makes you approachable, intriguing and more likely to buy you a drink and get to you.
You sounded like my best friend Henry when discussing Tom morello and I loved every second of it couldn’t help but laugh out loud 😆👏🏻✊🏻
You attributed Tosin's hybrid picking that Tim stole to Tim? C'moooon. Tosin is the most innovative guitarist of the generation by far. And I'm saying that liking Polyphia's music more than Animals As Leaders'.
Tosin does a lot more, like all the thumping stuff, which isn't that widespread because it's so fucking hard nobody can even do it. Tim's style is more influential.
Where is Muhammed Suicmez, guys from LoG, Tom Searle, Trey Azagthoth, Matt Bellamy, Dino Cazares and many others?
Every tier list just really boils down to who Finn would invite to the bbq 😎
Would loved to have seen your thoughts on Mark Tremonti…there’s Creed (hated immensely, but were huge, and having a huge resurgence), Alter Bridge (where his guitar work is god-tier…dude can shred), and Tremonti (which shows off his thrashier side).
Dimebag was friends with Scott Ian (jewish) and Rocky George (black dude). Plus, the video is from 20 years ago. I don't think he'd still saying shit like that nowadays. Anselmo did WAY WORST 8 years ago and he's now headlining arenas and festivals again.
I think people have to stop with the Kerry bashing. Not only did he contribute riffs to several Slayer classics but he was also the sole rhythm guitar player heard on all their albums from Divine to Repentless. And that rebel-flag shirt can't be as bad as Hanneman's Nazi-flag in the Slayer jam room, look it up.
How can Mustaine be a racist while having a black guitar-tech for ages?!? Plus I don't think Ice-T would collaborate twice with a racist white guy.
Wes Borland, isn't that the dude who was at Manson's house when he was "allegedly" mistreating women but kept his mouth shut for 15 years until the allegations!?!
This list was a little rough!!
Also, even if Dimebag still did act like that, it takes away from his guitar skills how?
Womp womp
@@LongLiveRockAnRoll Getting invited to the BBQ has little to do with guitar chops. DeLonge would not be on the S tier.

The classic "I have a black friend, how can I be racist?"
Agreed, I've noticed the way this guy talks he is definitely woke ASF sadly.
Mark Tremonti! Great lead guitarist with iconic solos and riffs; and a surprisingly excellent vocalist💪. All-round nice guy who likes to build up everyone else over himself. Zero douche factor!
(And he might bring his extensive pinball machine collection over to the BBQ!)
THIS WILL BE FUN
Definitely agree with the Kerry King/Jeff Hanneman take lol
Dime is definitely my favorite guitarist as well
I used to think Tom Morello was a guitar god, then I learned to play and realized while he is very good at writing groove, he is an overrated player. His politics make me hate his guts. And his interviews seem like a Key and Peele sketch.

But he scratches his guitar strings for a turn table sound.. he's the best ever..
1000% agreed. He’s a D tier player at best and a triple f tier personality.
His politics aren't really a problem compared to how much of a hypocrite he is
Tits are temporary, guitars are forever
Next do a Guitar Virtuosos one. With Yngwe Malmsteen, Van Halen, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, etc..
This is a great series he could really do a lot of them. I would like to add Rob Zombie and Lil Wayne to the list of potential guests.
