Peachy has always been the best. Shhhh 🤫
So very true what you said about bands trying to emulate korns sound yet failing to, I remember in 1998 there was at least 200 copy cats , not one band could emulate korns sound, not one vocalist sounds like Johnathan Davis and feildys bass.
I agree totally about Ray being a "better" drummer, but something about David's playing really works for me, and Korn.
The first line of the first song on the first album by the first Nu Metal band. "Are you ready!?" Nothing was the same after. How perfect is that?
Probably the greatest single moment of any metal song of all time
No one was ready!!!!!!!😂
Absolute bad ass facts
♥️ top comment 👏🏽

Korn coming out with blind at Woodstock 99 is one of the wildest live videos I ever seen
Probably one of there best sets ever recorded too be honest they shook the foundations of those grounds that day and so did the crowd
That live version was the best. Something about Munky playing his part differently in the verses made it sound more dark and heavy.
Bro honestly Woodstock videos are the reason I started going to music fest , not knowing this shit show that it was behind the scenes just seeing those crowds move is what inspired me
Did you watch the whole set or you just turned away after blind
@@TheIcpfan23
Me personally, I’ve watched a lot of full sets from that festival, Megadeth is my 2nd favorite one to watch , full set
I see "Korn" in the title and immediately click. Those are the rules.
Absolutely
“One Bite music reviews, everybody knows the rules.” Dave Portnoy, probably.
X2
Well did you atleas watch the whole entire set or just watched blind and turned it off
Join the club. lol
And Korn just posted on their instagram a 30 year anniversary teaser for tomorrow. What a coincidence.
thank you for posting this. I didn't even realize it's been 30 years!!!!!!!!!!! im stoked!
Lol, gotta filter it down to YT cc’s, get everyone their memories of when they were good to buy the album. 🤷🏻♂️☕️
Issues is so good! You definitely gave it credit, but it had Falling away from me, Make me bad, and Somebody someone. I think those three are some of their best songs
Yesss when he talked down Issues a bit I thought "my dude... you're completely forgetting Falling away from me..."😅
All those songs, as well as Trash and Hey Daddy are incredible imo.
Issues is my favorite also! Somebody Someone is one of my favorite Korn songs!
Yeah it's probably my 2nd favorite. Strong as hell tracklist and perfect production. Let's Get This Party Started and Dirty hit hard.
Issues is a MASTERPIECE imo. Very surprised it was ranked that low. Thats a no skip album.
Head quit the band in 2005, before they released "See You on the Other Side". The last Korn album with his participation was "Take a Look in the Mirror" (2003). He returned to the band in 2013, for "The Paradigm Shift" album. This period is known as the Head-less Era of Korn.
Right, but due to his meth addiction Munky wrote and recorded a majority of the guitar work for Take A Look In The Mirror. Head was AWOL during most of the writing and recording for that album and he also said he didn't like Untouchables much after they initially released it.
@@leadme2thebliss21yeah in one of the DVDs Head whisperers to the Camera man "I didn't like that Record!" (Untouchables)
Thank you I came here just to say this
@@Bustamk3yay!
A BAND THAT CAN NEVER BE DUPLICATED PERIOD. A pinnacle of metal music evolution. They changed music like nirvana killed hair metal over night. This band deserves more and more credit then given.
Ya since korn came out I can't think of a another band that changed metal like them .😊
Even Metallica and Slayer started to jump on the nu metal bandwagon in the early 2000's. A genre started by KoRn. That's major influence.
Serenity of Suffering is their best of their most recent albums and on top with the classic records.
I agree i think is really underrated, When You Are Not There is an incredible song
It's good, doesn't beat The Nothing tho
Far too many skips which all sound the same imo
Yes!! I agree!!! IMO, Black is the Soul is their best song on that album!! 🙌🏻🔥🤘🏻
I saw Korn in ‘96 when they weren’t too huge yet and could mingle in the audience. I walked up to Munky and thanked him for getting 7-strings back on the market and we talked gear for about 10 minutes. Very cool!!
Nice to actually hear somebody still praising Korn.
"Got The Life" was the 1st song they had to retire from TRL. Anytime after they had to retire a song, they called it the Korn rule .
What's even more crazy... freak on a leash was number 2.
I'm more impressed that Johnathan Davis can still sing like he did in his prime.... Like he stayed consistent somehow!
See You On the Other Side is the first Korn album without Head. Korn III is the first album with Ray Luzier as their new full time drummer.
Been a KoRn fan since 99 and honestly think the last 3 albums are some of their best material. I love (almost) every single album by them. I could maybe do without the 05-12 period, but still there is some cool stuff on those records. My list would be:
14. III: Remember Who You Are
13. The Path Of Totality
12. See You On The Other Side
11. Untitled
10. The Paradigm Shift
9. Follow The Leader (hot take!)
8. The Nothing
7. Take A Look In The Mirror
6. Requiem
5. The Serenity Of Suffering
4. Untouchables
3. KoRn
2. Life Is Peachy
1. Issues
Issues will most likely always be the most important album in my life..
Follow the leader at 9 lmao
Follow The Leader - Issues was peak Korn
I can't blame you for Follow the Leader. While it does have some of their best tracks, it also is unfortunately the album the contains "All in the Family", and "Children of the Korn"
@@zacharyware9083 Yeah, it's very hip hop influenced, almost sounds like rap metal record. Issues on the other hand had lot more "darker vibe" no hip hop elements, lot of heavy guitars (Beg For Me, Wake Up, Somebody Someone), it's very mature KoRn
@@zacharyware9083Yeah some really great tracks on it of course, but as a coherent album I find the quality varies too much.
Honorable mention: their unplugged performance. So so good.
Lmfao
You're joking, right?
@@a.k.8195It was epic
Terrible album. So disappointing. It should’ve been great.
@@fuckgoogle8661Definitely a Polarizing album like Path of Totality lol
More like 'Path Of Total Trash'@@wallaceshawn-zk8iw
Korn is metal royalty 👑
You mean kpop royalty
They are right there up with the likes of Iron Maiden, Metallica, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Slayer. I mean in terms of influence (lot of kids started to listen metal in mid/late 90's thank to KoRn)
@@gregorsamsa555 Right. If there is an afterlife Jonathan Davis will be sitting at the table with other greats like DIO, Ozzy, Tony Iommi, Marilyn Manson, Geddy Lee, Peter Steele, Corey Taylor, Dimebag Darrell, James Hetfield, and all the other legends.
14:00 i feel like Untouchables does not get enough love. Such a good album! I listened to it a while back and thought, shit this is kinda like a Depeche Mode record but really heavy.
Yeah it has pop vibe, also industrial vibe. Dark and heavy album
That is such an interesting take. I love both Korn and Depeche Mode and I can see what you are saying there
Untouchables has to be my most played album out of them all. A true gem!
JD often cited it as their best work as a band and you’re spot on. Korn was doing 80’s Nu-wave revival before it became trendy. There are subtle nods to Depeche Mode, The Cure, Tears for Fears, even Madonna. It was Korn trying new things and taking risks even though it pissed off a percentage of their fans who begged them to be “raw and heavy” again at the time.
I totally agree, I think untouchables is an amazing album for what it is.
I’ve seen Korn 9 times. There’s nothing like their crowd. A lot of passion and community
Check out the Dead or Phish. I love Korn but there really is no other passionate music community that reaches the levels of a Dead show or Phish show.
Hippy
I'm a simple man. I see Finn content, i see a sports metal topic, i watch.🙂
Football Metal
sports metal lol
Serenity of suffering is so underrated. It’s my favorite of their “new” albums, so good. I saw them live in 2022 and they opened with “rotting in vain”. Their energy was so good for a bunch of guys my dad’s age. Swinging those dreads all over the place.
I clicked pretty fast. I just started listening to Korn this year and I am beyond glad!
“Twisted Transistor” low-key got that P-Funk groove going on.
Man that first family values tour was absurd. I saw Orgy, Ice Cube, Rammstein, Limp Biscuit, and korn. I remember moshing as a teenager as like a core memory.
The first time I heard Korn...every night, for months on end. They were something very different and everyone loved them. I remember in the late 90s when I was in Junior High, living in Chicagoland, THE rock radio station of the day was Q101 out of Chicago. They had a head to head contest every night where called the Cage Match where everyone would call in and vote for one the two songs they played. Korn's ADIDAS won it straight for something like three months straight. Nu-metal was born.
Your introduction hype up talk is my favorite, it gets me in the mood the put on a pair of JNCOs and put a hole in the wall.
You know your a good band when you hear the guitars and immediately know the band such a unique sound which made them stand out from the rest
I’ve been waiting for this for so long 😩😩😩 thank u daddy Finn for the sweet sweet content
Yeah tell us how thankful you are Daltonnn
@@bungus461 luv u
Korn is my favorite band & also my gateway band into heavy music . All started with Coming Undone & the See You On The Other Side album . Brings me joy to see you love & respect them so much .
I saw Korn opening for Megadeth in 95 (Fear Factory was also there), they blew everyone's minds!
That koRn meshuggah take is great! Makes so much sense tbh
I've been watching your videos for about a year now, man. And you're a great dude with awesome content and you continue delivering great videos.
Keep that shit up!
This video kicks ass, good stuff, saludos from Costa Rica.
I was a huge Korn fan until Take a Look in the mirror in 2003 and didnt listen to them again until randomly listening to Serenity of Suffering in 2016 and thought yeah, this sounds like old Korn. And they have released 2 albums since then that ive not heard, this band, prolific lol
You're missing out, The Nothing is incredible imo
Korn saved my life. Got me through a lot of shit. Kept me from going back to prison. I will always love and respect the band. A truly exceptional band. ✌️❤️
Just a couple things: Issues is prime Korn, SOS is so groovy and sonically maybe the best sounding record along with Untouchables, The Nothing is utterly brilliant and Requiem is downright beautiful at times. Korn still has it and they are metal royalty at this point
Massive respect for this ranking. Peachy is a monster.
First album they put out to disappoint me. Could’ve made a great ep if you threw some tracks away.
What is your favorite song from each album.
Korn - Lies
Life is Peachy - Good God
Follow the Leader - Dead Body's everywhere
Issues - Hey Daddy
Untouchables - Alone I Break
Take a Look in the Mirror - Everything I've Known
See you on the Otherside - Coming Undone
Untitled - Evolution
Korn 3 - Let the guilt go
Path to Totality - Get Up
The Paradigm Shift - Love & Meth
Serenity of Suffering - Rotting in Vain
The Nothing - The Ringmaster
Requiem - Worst is on its way
This man has good taste
Alright let's go with: F@get, Chi, Freak on a Leash, Falling Away from Me, Here to Stay, Did My Time, Coming Undone, Evolution, Oildale, Get Up, Punishment Time, Black Is the Soul, The Darkness is Revealing, Hopeless and Beaten
@@Razieleatssouls Intresting choices,.I'd say they're all valid besides punishment time...
@@zacharyware9083 100% agree. I personally love Victimized and some of the b-sides more. Prey For Me was Viola and so was Love and Meth
@raulfigueroa588 Honestly, I would have chosen Hater, but I didn't want to choose a song that wasn't apart of the base album.
Glad you showed some love for “Take a Look in the Mirror.” That’s a top 3 Korn album for me but I feel like everyone trashes it.
Yes Finn this is what I’ve been waiting for!!
Munky talks about Steve Vai's Passion and Warfare album that turned him on to the Ibanez Gem 7 string. He could hear the low 7th being used.
Twisted Transistor is m favorite Korn song so I'm always glad to see you selling it. I don't know their discog well enough to know if I agree about the 6 great albums, but I also can't think of another band I feel that way about. I don't even know if I love 6 whole King Crimson albums but that's the best guess I got
In my opinion, Take a Look in the Mirror is their best album. Guitars and bass sounds so cool, and the mix is produced awesome. I was melted down when i heard it first time in 2004, it was so heavy and catchie shit, and i listen it till this time. One love❤️
Don’t blame u at all that album has some catchy songs and riffs
Good to see TALITM love! That's one of my favorites
Yes we are ready awesome breakdown of their albums
I think it is wild the fandom in 2013 was saying Paradigm Shift was the best Korn album in 8-years with some saying since Untouchables to now in 2024 a growing portion of the fandom saying Paradigm Shift sucks and Path of Totality is underrated. It’s crazy how over time how varied the opinions can sway.
I still remember the first time I saw Korn. It was 1995 at our favorite small “club”. It was Milk Bar in Jacksonville Florida. It was a basement bar/club and held maybe 500-700 people tops. So many good punk shows there, but it was the first time Korn played Jacksonville. The following year, they played at Shades, which was a bigger club in Orange Park Florida, which is basically in the boarder of Jacksonville. They had the weirdest opening band for them, which was The Urge. After that I saw them in Lakeland FL and it was a coliseum show. Then was the first Family Values tour. We drove from Jacksonville to Lafayette LA to see it. I saw them a handful of times after that and the last time I saw them was on the 2003 Ozfest in VA. Always such a great show
I saw them in 2021 and 2022 and they are still putting on amazing shows and still proving every night why they are still a headlining band. Last time I saw them Helmet and Evanescence opened up for them and those bands were good but my unbiased opinion is that KoRn came out and blew those bands away.
that 1995 show was the one where Fred Durst met the guys from Korn and gave them tattoos and that first Limp Bizkit demo with Terry Balsamo on it, right?
@@freddylimpster7137 I don’t remember Terry ever playing for LB. My buddy Rob Waters was playing guitar for them. He left the band right before they started gaining traction with $3 Bill. It was either the Milk Bar show or the Shades show that Fred met them
@@Retro-2-now yeah I meant Rob Waters pardon
@@freddylimpster7137 no worries, yup, Rob Was definitely in the band at that point. Unfortunately, Rob passed away handful of years ago
Totally agree on Requiem. That album is underrated
I do agree with you on Korn not really having anything bad, and they always are just ahead of everyone and everything. Korn is one of my favorite bands, and to me they never cease to amaze me😊🌽
Been waiting on this lol.
Also, even though how creative Korns music videos are. Twisted transistor is such a great video. Having a bunch of the biggest rappers from that time cosplay as them. It’s genius really
I remember when the first album came out. I was 14 and i bought it on a whim. Then i saw them open for Danzig & Marilyn Manson. They were booed hard but when main riff came in on Blind the small club went off! Won the Danzig crowd over mostly. Then i saw them again with Megadeth & Fear Factory. Were much improved from the first time i saw them.
I did not expect your ranking to be the same as mine, but I absolutely agree with your top 3
Very interested to see where Follow the Leader lands on this list because that is my favorite Korn album
What is interesting with Korn is I’d bet most people got onboard with Follow the leader then almost graduated backwards into their first two albums. I agree Finn, one of those rare bands that don’t have a bad album in their whole catalog. What makes them truly great is how many albums are in that catalog. Unreal!
I became a KoRn fan during Life Is Peachy a LOT of kids born in the early/mid 80s all knew about KoRn before FTL. I remember when I bought FTL because I was on vacation at the time in South Carolina and we took a special trip to the mall to buy the CD and I remember the first time I listened to that album I was with family and friends at the beach so most people don't have memories that special hearing Follow The Leader for the 1st time the DAY of it's release to the public!
I got my first introduction through Follow The Leader. Then found out about Life Is Peachy (my brother thought Follow The Leader was more age appropriate for 7 year old me hahahaha). I wasn't much of a fan of their Self Titled until I became a teenager. I guess my little brain hadn't been fully converted musically.
@@Ammut6 I bought FTL the first day it was released. I've been buying their merch and CD's since around 1997.
Got on board during Untouchables lol. Then I went backwards & preferred the 1st album over the others.
You know David Silveria wasn't the greatest most technical drummer but damn I haven't heard anyone drum like him.
I still blast Ya'll want a single driving down the street..
I will always be a fan of Korn. I bought their debut album when they came into the scene and was hooked for life.
Clown was my $hit when it dropped butnimg how much the crowd went NUTS when this track drop.. INSANE! Damn i miss those days
"Thoughtless" "Alone I Break" and "Here To Stay" are my top 3 favorite Korn songs of all time.
Those first two albums are my absolute favorite. I LOVE how grimey and stripped back they are. FTL starts what you called that "Pop Korn" sound, and while I think it has some amazing songs, nothing tops how unkempt and sludgey Korn and Life is Peachy were for me. LIP's one of my absolute favorite albums and there was a day were I listened to it 3 time in a row. THAT'S untouchable imo
LIP and self-titled are straight up unhinged, sludgy, and dark as it gets. Truly unique moment in musical history for me
Pay that mortgage baby!!!
Surprised with how high you put TALITM. I loved it and thought it was pretty heavy!
Seriously one of my favorite bands of all time. Follow the leader and issues are my personal favs. Such a good Era in time. Thanks for the video.
This was probably the fastest I've ever clicked on a Finn Mckenty video.
I got into them with life is peachy. The next day went and bought self titled and it changed my whole world at the time. Love this band!
That explains why I like darko so much because korn is my favorite band 😂 they are a more extreme heavier version of
HORARY🎉❤ Finn i agree with you on the #1 album spot!! I LOVE Life is Peachy. It was the 1st CD i ever bought as a kid. I couldnt stop listening to it. No bad songs on this album.
Korn fan since day one, I still remember the first time I heard korn and it blew my mind, I never tought I would hear anything so dark, and yes I totally agree with Life is Peachy being their Best overall album.
14 Korn III
13 Untitled
12 Path Of Totality
11 Paradigm Shift (Don Gilmore produced this
This is the official list
way better than his list
Issues has always been my favorite album by Korn it's what I grew up with so it could be nostalgia but I love the more melodic creepy sound that they had on this album
thoughtless is my fav korn song , something about it that just resonates
Take a look in the mirror is dope asf imo first album I ever owned and still bump it to this day 🤘🏻
Great review for acknowledging "Clown" the best Korn old school in my opinion, so little reactions to Clown and its video
Do this same kinda video with In Flames please :)
I literally just stumbled onto the band when I just happened to see the Life is Peachy CD in the new releases shelf at the music store in the mall back when it came out. I never heard anything like it; completely changed my music preferences. I then went back and got the debut album after that, and those two cds got worn out.
Life is peachy is my favorite Korn album as well. So fucking much rage and sickness on every track. It stands within my top 10 favorite albums ever.
Funny timing, I just did my own deep dive on Korn like a week ago lol
Damn!
Seriously Finn, thank you for saying what you said about Meshuggah gotten it from Korn!
The fact that you put Take A Look In The Mirror so high, you got a sub from me. Such an underrated album from them. I know Korn doesn't like the album but its so good, so heavy, and so dark. the first 3 songs on that album are perfect.
haha "it makes you feel like you haven't showered in 3 days". Best korn description I've heard
Untouchables and Take a Look In The Mirror are two of my absolute favorite Korn albums. Two very different albums but absolutely amazing albums
KoRn has way too much good content for me to even begin to compile a "worst to best" list! I'm so glad you made this video though, FInn!
I would love to see you do a Cradle of Filth Worst to Best man! One of my favs!
This is the best and most entertaining video about Korn I have ever watched
1. Korn
2. Issues
3. Peachy
4. Follow the leader
5. Untouchables
Lookin the mirror can replace peachy
This is basically how I feel. And I'm happy to skip everything between 2002 and like 2019. They've started to be cool again.
When take a look in the mirror came out it was the beginning of the end for me. Right now was pretty good, and I still like did my time, but y'all want a single just... I can't do it.
@@zacharysmithingell5460 I totally get that you feel it was the end. After mirror. But honestly it's just a contest of which album you love the least
on the fear factory thing - korn’s debut came out before demanufacture (Idk if they played 7’s on soul of a new machine)
Follow the Leader is my top, but those first 3 are so hard to judge as the best.
And as a bassist myself, I agree with you on Fieldy. Everyone talked shit on him in the bass forums back in the late 90s/early 2000s. Technically, not a great bassist, but having that signature tone and feel trumps any technique master.
lol the cassette tape with doll on front yeah i got one, but was 1995 they open for danzig i was blown away been playing 7 string ever since
Around the Fur
Life is Peachy
Evil Empire
My fav riff trio 90'
Somewhat disagreed with some of the placements, I would've ranked issues and untouchables higher, BUT.... Life is Peachy is absolutely my fave by them. I can't think of anything else that sounds like it, brutal, brooding, groovy all at once. Love love LIP.
I've been a fan of KoRn since Follow The Leader came out and I'm seeing them for the first time in August in Scarborough! I absolutely can't fucking wait!!!
Life is Peachy is my #1, followed closely by KORN (Self-titled)
This is a great list. I pretty much agree with it. Though I still have some strong love toward Issues.
That Beat Drop on “Freak on a Leash” is insane… you can be in a comma and listen to that and it’ll get you out of the fucken Comma to Headbang 😂
My favorite band of all time. Growing up with them and that era of metal was special. I was 14 when the debut came out so i grew up as they got huge.
I've been a Korner since middle school, yes in the 90s, and I totally agree, except self titled is my top, FTL is second, and so on, but I understand what he's getting at and I salute it
Well fuck guess I gotta binge their entire discography, again
I saw two shows on the Life is Peachy tour in 1997. It started with "Twist", it was very weird and furious and the sound was insane especially the bass.
That's the thing about KoRn, for the albums you listed, for fans, it's all interchangeable. It's a gospel that KoRns albums are phenomenal but the en masse opinion of which ones those albums are is very hard to nail down, since each albums has its perfect quirks that make it fit for that person.
Does anyone know why Follow The Leader starts on track 13? I remember hearing a reason but can’t remember what it was.
In high school when I was on the wrestling team, I used to listen to Koren self titled before meets in particular I used to listen to clown right before my matches to get pumped up
I got into Korn just before Life is Peachy came out. I saw a live video of Divine on MTV, then Good God was on a Kerrang tape. It really was a mind blowing moment. Good God especially sounded so inhumanly savage.
I'm one of the people who doesn't like take a look in the mirror. Don't know why, but nothing about the album grabs me and aside from that single I can't remember anything about it.
