The son told the 911 dispatcher that she had been dead for two hours.....we heard that clearly on the recording of the call.....how did he know she had been dead for two hours if he supposedly had just arrived at the house and found her dead????
It had been 5 years since, and by her facial expression you could tell she was super upset and probably holding back tears. Also knowing it was used as evidence against him for murder could make her downplay it
Still can't believe the prosecution took that case to trial with no evidence that Jason killed his mom. Now, even if they find proof he did it, they can't charge him for it. Also I really want to know what his dad's alibi is or his brothers' cause we didn't hear why they were excluded from the investigation.
I bet there was so much certainty in the community, being a small town and few people want to disagree and potentially defend a murderer, that the prosecutor was a bit blind to the holes. Or he figured a jury-of-his-peers in a small community would absolutely hang him.
No its not. thats normal reaction at being accused. Stressed out/Angry and then trying to calm yourself. The alarming ones are the ones accused and is cool as a clam and then proceed to create an ellaborate defensive narrative on why it could not be him or why its not their fault while forgetting they did not deny the accusation. He is innocent.
This man killed his mom and walked. Or would I believe more is that he hired someone. People keep saying that he was an hour away. Really he discovered the body. Which means she wasn't dead When he went to go visit his mother. He killed her as soon as he arrived to his mom's house. What burglars know that there's guns in the basement. They bring their own weapons why would they search the house first doesn't make sense. All he did was lie. He said he didn't know there was a safe. He also told police that she got shot twice in the head. How do you know that unless you're the killer. Then he said that she was dead for 2 hours. Just to create an alibi. The police also knows how robberies are. Opening drawers and throwing things on the floor is not a robbery its is obviously staged and nothing was taken. He arrived went downstairs got the gun and shot his mom. Then pretended that he found her dead. It was very clear he hated his mom.
@duramaxz0610 he killed her then drove an hour to the grain storage place. Disposed the gun somewhere along the way. Drove back and found her dead and called 911.
Oh, small towns and rural families have more secrets than anyone else. Speaking as someone who grew up in a small town, and lived in rural areas as an adult. True of men AND women. Edgar Lee Master’s got it right in Spoon River Anthology. A fabulous read to this day.

An important thing to remember is that polygraphs are not "lie detectors." There is no scientific basis for that, which is why the results are not admissible in court. Their only real purpose is as psychological tools to intimidate suspects.

The father is also the victim in a case like this. He lost the most. I hope the father is feeling better and doing ok without his wife of 52 years. Special thoughts and prayers to mom Shirley's family.
Sometimes it upsets me when the jury doesn't get to hear some of the evidence because I still think he probably killed his Mom...there are a lot of times when ppl talk to jurors after the trial is over and say if they would have known the full details they would have found the person guilty!
I actually think the dad did it. Not the son. He said her eyes were open. later they were closed.. That picture of her open eyes would not leave your memory ever.this part would never ever change. No way.

@@user-xe5cz3dw8m Most marriages don't last that long so people don't understand the kind of love a couple married that long has. It was definitely the greedy son. Why would someone show up at a farmhouse in the middle of nowhere and shoot a old woman without taking a single item? It was the son..
@@Limeydawg-1973 I agree 100% with you!
I don’t believe post rifle shot victim could held hands nor cross legs. Falling back victims would be spread eagle. Someone did the hands holding.
Jason lost his lawsuit against the state of Iowa and the investigator. He also lost the appeal to set aside the civil court verdict.
Just seen the video, thank you for the update 👍
I believe Jason had something to do with the murder of his mother. unfortunately for the dad ,the team of investigators was a group of gossips instead! Very poor investigation
Yea there was so much reasonable doubt, I can’t believe they would take it to trail. I would’ve voted not guilty too.
The son told the 911 dispatcher that she had been dead for two hours.....we heard that clearly on the recording of the call.....how did he know she had been dead for two hours if he supposedly had just arrived at the house and found her dead????
Exactly 🤦♀️
That is strange but also weird that the father said he found her dead with her eyes open but then testified her eyes were closed
@@joancollins522 he said it LOOKED like she had been dead for two hours. now that she WAS dead for two hours.
Your husband is having an affair. That is so disappointing. That was like she was told her son stole a candy.
It had been 5 years since, and by her facial expression you could tell she was super upset and probably holding back tears. Also knowing it was used as evidence against him for murder could make her downplay it
She knows that song “stand by your man”
I really don't believe that the possibility of your mom telling your wife about an afraid is enough to kill her.
@beautifulrose8619 well, she killed his mom, so...
I think exactly the same,...she did not even give him a chance to apology.
Why do so many people talk to the police without a lawyer? I watch so many of these true crime videos & they always talk.
Jason’s quick switch between crying and normal talking is alarming
@@kimberlyrichardson5943sorry for your loss rip. I wish the best for you and your family.

Exactly
Not really, I also have had it when I was distressed and then got angered
No its not. thats normal reaction at being accused. Stressed out/Angry and then trying to calm yourself. The alarming ones are the ones accused and is cool as a clam and then proceed to create an ellaborate defensive narrative on why it could not be him or why its not their fault while forgetting they did not deny the accusation. He is innocent.
For the love of God please get rid of the awful backround music

So genius, where did he put the gun before he called 911
@duramaxz0610 he killed her then drove an hour to the grain storage place. Disposed the gun somewhere along the way. Drove back and found her dead and called 911.
You got it.
There was so much reasonable doubt and nothing but circumstantial evidence. I do believe the jury got it right, with the case that was presented.
It looks like you need a lawyer to call 911 on your behalf
Why is this background music necessary? You could at least tone it down
Absolutely .. it's annoying and distracts from the documentary, making it hard to hear exactly what's going on.
Copy right
The 911 call doesn’t sound sincere at all
Jason and his wife are both very shady imo.
I found the live coverage of the Jason Carter trial! There’s a playlist on this channel, Law&Crime Network channel, if anyone is interested.😊

A laxy prosecutors job is not to put a guilty person in jail. It is to put someone in jail.
find any person guilty, to put him in jail
I’ve always thought Jason was guilty of killing his mom.
Of course he did it.
The fact is hat the son and his wife are suing the father does not sit right , seems he is all after the money
He should have got a lawyer. Those detectives have a lot to answer for.

An important thing to remember is that polygraphs are not "lie detectors." There is no scientific basis for that, which is why the results are not admissible in court. Their only real purpose is as psychological tools to intimidate suspects.
It is a superb tool. Just like asking a suspect if they will provide a voluntary DNA sample. When they refuse it is very telling.
Yes and it seemed Jason was given the polygraph that same night while he was so upset.
but the shrieking is a serious tell.. the way his voice goes up like an old woman, that is evidence beyond anything else.

😢what a sad story! Unfortunately the mother is often the glue that holds and keeps the family together. Once mom passes on, the family does fall apart.
This is a really sad case. I really hope there is healing for the family.

His behavior and telling everyone where to look made him a major suspect.
