    I made one. It's the best green smoothie recipe I've found by far. The lemon is the best trick. I find I like to add mango to mine. It adds a little extra flavor.

      I love mango. Do you switch the mango in for something else or just add it in addition to the other ingredients?

    If you want a creamy texture, add avocado. When I was pregnant a year ago, I was so busy at work I didn't have time to go out and grab lunch or even go to the kitchen to heat up my lunch. So what sustained me during the day was a large smoothie of kale, spinach, avocado, apple, banana, and water.

      Ladies, this smoothie is terrific for getting in lots of great nutrients if you're pregnant. Because pregnant moms and their babies need lots of protein, I would encourage you to add a scoop or two of protein powder (either whey or plant-based) to the smoothie. Feel good!!

    I saw you put this recipe in a fitness magazine and I’ve been drinking it ever since. It is the best green drink I’ve tasted. Also, my little kids love it. Sometimes I’ll add a scoop of chocolate protein and we call it a dirty dinosaur smoothie. They get so excited like it’s a treat.

  • @SanchX33

    Yayy for smoothie appreciation!
    I do almost the same smoothie in the morning, except I use kale instead of romaine and swap apple/pear in your recipe berries or papaya. I usually do maca powder and hemp seeds, but I will give spirulina a try in the future!
    Also using coconut water is great for hydration instead of water - especially for the morning, ginger adds a bit of "spice" and cinnamon regulates your blood sugar (all little add-ins to keep in mind).
    Love your content Jenna, you seem so grounded and comfortable with yourself :)

    I've been green juicing for 6 years now and i cant ever imagine stopping. It has completely changed my life and the way i look. If i continue i can go on and on about how much i love it so i'll stop. I use Spinach celery carrots a lemon and apple and then one other fruit anything i have on hand thar day. It can watermelon to cantaloupe, it depends. Also chia seeds. Its delicious

      If you have to think about the order, you need a more powerful blender.
      We use a thermomix. I'd also consider a vitamix or a blendtec. All great blenders.

    I love making a chocolate version to help with the sweet tooth cravings. I use a lot of frozen ingredients because it’s faster and can save $ sometimes. My base recipe that I work from is spinach, kale, strawberries, banana, organic Cacao powder, organic Maca powder, chia seeds, almond milk, Vega One all-in-one shake (chocolate flavor). I will change it up from time to time and add in different veggies or fruit and sometimes add the Naked green machine smoothie. I love the Vega One protein shake mix because it has spirulina, and flax seed. Plus it has 20g of plant protein and 50% of our needed daily vitamins and minerals.

    Love you channel - let those bananas ripen to the point of being super brown. It's when they're sweetest and best for you ;) I love to let bananas get super brown and then I freeze them. My favorite smoothie is a tropical green blend: Frozen bananas, spinach, kale, moringa, cucumber, young coconut, fresh pineapple. SO DELISH!

    I try to add just whatever I have in my fridge in my green smoothies, but my go to recipe is: spinach (lots of it), frozen kale, frozen pineapple, 1 banana, spirulina powder, ground flax, hemp seeds, lemon juice, water & a bit of maple syrup. super yummy👌🏾!

    • @achrisdesign
      @achrisdesign 6 років тому

      Hi Trida, may I ask why you are using frozen kale? Is it because kale stays fresher that way? I sometimes buy large bags of kale and sometimes it goes bad if not eaten right away. Blessings

    • @tritri444
      @tritri444 6 років тому +1

      achrisdesign hi :), exactly! I like kale, but I never end up using all of it before it goes bad either, so when I notice it’s about to go, I just transfer it to a freezer bag and it’s good to use in stir fry’s or smoothies.

    Loved this video and it also reminded me how much I need to add spirulina powder to my smoothies! I too make a green smoothie every morning! One of my favorite fruits to add in that helps cancel out the green taste is cantaloupe! A while back I had some leftover from bringing to the beach and said what the heck let's try it and I could not believe how amazing it tastes! It is sooooo refreshing! I also use it in my acai bowls!

  • @EmilyRhinier

    The smoothie I have been drinking and loving the most lately is:
    1/2 cup Frozen blue berries
    2-3 Frozen bananas
    1-2 handfuls kale or spinach
    1 tbsp green powder (amazing grass trio powder: wheatgrass, barley grass, alfalfa)
    1 tbsp spirulina
    1/2 cup coconut water
    Water
    Sometimes I add in vegan vanilla protein powder (garden of life meal replacer - lightly sweetened, no stevia)
    You don't have to do frozen fruits if you are in a colder climate, but I live in South Florida so the frozen fruits work great😊.

    • @jadeolivia3061

      Do all those bananas and berries not give you a blood sugar spike?

    • @louisazuber8336
      @louisazuber8336 6 років тому +3

      I think that the sugar contained in whole fruits only causes a small rise in blood sugar vs. refined sugar added to processed foods.

    • @StephanieonYT
      @StephanieonYT 6 років тому +4

      Louisa Zuber What's the reasoning behind that? If the fruit does not have a lot of fiber to slow down your sugar metabolism how else can you prevent the spike? I honestly think sugar is sugar and everything is wonderful in moderation. 1 banana has more than enough sugar to sweeten the smoothie. But to each their own 💁‍♀️

    • @jadeolivia3061
      @jadeolivia3061 6 років тому +1

      Stephanie Nnadi Yeah, I’m with you on that. I try to limit the fruit I put in as much as possible-usually half a banana at most. Otherwise it sort of defeats the purpose and I end up feeling gross.

    I lost 8 pounds since I started drinking this about a month ago( sporulons I think).. it’s absolutely delicious!
    But I’ve now began to do only veggies and it taste good! Same veggies as in your recipe but I add 2 big carrots ( biological) to add a sweet taste plus mint leaves and cilantro and one fresh thyme twig ( I just pick the little pieces off) no fruits for me cause it ferment and keeps me ...well.. full of gas.. hahaha!!!
    But thank you I have been telling others your recipe cause it tastes wonderful!!!

    I tried this and was actually quite surprised how good this tasted! I only added one frozen banana and that was plenty of sweetness for me! Adding a frozen already ripened banana makes it really creamy and cold! I also added some parsley because parsley is SUPER nutrient dense, even more than kale, and is very rich in potassium and detoxing ingredients. I also added Dr Axes multi-collagen protein powder, for added nutrients. You could also add some ginger root which would make it very anti inflammatory! Thanks for the recipe!

    The only thing I absolutely cannot do in a green smoothie is celery, tried it once and absolutely hated every moment of it! Other than that I love green smoothies and lemon is definitely a good idea!

    Great recipe! Fresh ginger is great too! Also you can actually freeze lemons whole, then grate the entire lemon ( seeds and peel too) and store in the freezer. You can add the lemon shavings to smoothies for a super alkaline factor and it also fights cancer!
