can we drink a beet juice in the same day
All food will always have some negative. Make your own veg smoothie and you cant go wrong. For goodness sake its better for you than a burger 🌿🍔🤠👍🏻
Is it though ? Grass fed beef minus the bun is extremely healthy
@@TV-ob1if That's not really a burger than is it...

Can I just say, I love that you informed, corrected, gave tips, and showed an actual recipe with simple enough ingredients that many can access? Brilliant video! Thank you for this!
You are so welcome!
I stick to only one fruit to avoid the sugar overload, but I go all the way with the greens: brussel sprouts, broccoli, Spanish, carrot, ginger(a piece of ginger block the veggie taste), chia seeds, flax seed, a banana or berries.
that’s great…
Ginger to fight the strong green flavor! I’ll try it!
An unholy toxic blast
imo i just avoid processed sugar or anything unnatural. fruits are natural, greens are natural. i still need it to taste sweet so i'll put lots of fruits. i add lots of greens for the health benefits, as long as i cant taste them
Thank you for your smoothie recipe... I overcomplicated my smoothies and you simplified it for me by using just water...
I use Spring Water, frozen berries, banana & spinach 💪🏾 nothing more & it’s been working well for me 👍🏾
I do similar
Same, but I add some almonds to it, sometimes mango
wow did the good Dr. just say “sugar” instead of “Glucose?” And is glucose like ten times easier for the body to assimilate compared to sugar? If so then drink up Green Monster Smoothie? A green monster smoothie saved my life after my doctor said there was no cure for eczema. And remember to avoid drinking all processed sugars! 😉
I add literally a few DROPS of liquid stevia. DELICIOUS!!!!
Did you lose weight ?
Mango, avocado, yogurt, spinach, kale, banana , ginger , almond milk and chia seeds hope i did it the right way
Awesome video, great information including my current supplement to my diet has really helped me find and balance my diet properly
I prefer coconut water over just water. Gives it better consistency.
Subbed! Thank you for sharing these tips
welcome!
Thank you so much. Originally, I thought this was going to be based, but you have credibility and I've been hearing how people overdue homemade smoothies just as buying the store-bought, since they are loaded down with sugar, but you informed us that when they sit on the shelf, even when refrigerated, the nutrient quality of those store-bought smoothies go down. I just got back from doing grocery shopping, and I took a leap of faith and decided not to buy the store-bought since I make them at home anyway, and I want to do them right. It is said that there is a right way to do something, and there is a wrong way to do it, and you have proved that. Since I do have a health challenge, I look at my diet as a lifestyle change for life, not for the short-term and the quick fix. There is so much wrong information out there, and we all owe it to ourselves to discern good information from bad information. Thank you so much.
I make my own from wild berries and loaded with organic vegetables: Kale, arugula, spinach, etc. With collegan, ground flaxseed, basil seeds, half a banana, vegan protein, powdered peanut butter, and lemon juice. Make your own EVERYTHING people!!! ❤❤
I really think i need a farm
Sounds yummy! Yes I make my own smoothies!
I would only ever use blueberries for sweetness, I prefer the veg taste I also add seaweed and turmeric alongside a host of vegetables. Best way to detoxify 💙
I always add a scoop of vanilla protein powder too! Keep u fuller longer ✨
Also, using green tea as a base seems to give a nice energy boost for mornings.
That’s a great idea
Nice idea! Will definitely try. Thanks!
Vitamix is a life saver! Smoothies, soups, salad dressing and so much more!
Glad to see my formulations of smoothies have been in the ballpark for health. Fruit 100 grams. Fiber 100 grams Fat 28 grams . I add a lot of powders like cacao, cinnamon, beetroot, taurine, Curcumin, flax seed. Thanks for the sensible smart green smoothie recipe . I’ll try it! Somebody just gave me a pile of kale! Hahah, I just reread my ingredients. Not 100 grams of fiber, 100 grams of legumes!
Hello. I make something similar. I've ever used juice or nut milks. I always throw in some celery, frozen broccoli, turmeric and a dash of black pepper. I call it my super smoothie!!! New sub from Ontario Canada!! PS- I'm in love with my vitamix too!!!!
love my vitamix too!! share your recipes 💕
Great video, I play around with many veggies, I found eggplant 🍆 taste so good in my green smoothi!! Yes 😅 , I never liked eggplant before, also beetroot is one of my go to it makes it sweet, so I don't really need fruit, trial and error, at first my smoothi were 🤢 , I now have fun with it , to see what works and what doesn't, definitely better than buying at store and is actually cheaper 😀
Thank you, God bless you.

Is it safe to use pre washed power greens flr smoothie?
Great video
Lemon for the bad things in kale and spinach? If so in how much? Thanks
I've been looking into healing my gut as well as improving my overall diet [and therefore, health]. I've seen Psyllium recommended a bunch, but what is the best way to take or consume psyllium/ psyllium husks?
kale, spinach, banana, avacado, flax /chia seeds, fruit/apple, water,
What was the size of your bowls you were using
I add beets to my smoothies, ironically turning them from a green smoothie to a red smoothie. It's that Nitric Oxide that I'm after, which widens your blood vessels and helps the circulation of nutrients from the other vegetables
do you cook them first or add them in raw?
love this too
@@Dlowr7 I peel, cut them up, and wash them. Haven't had any issue so far.
Would that helps to strengthen vein walls and capillaries?
pls share your recipe.
I use unsweetened almond milk and just one small squirt of liquid stevia.
I avoid the dark greens like spinach, kale and chards. I used to have them in my smoothie everyday on weekdays for years and the oxolates caused an imbalance in my TSH levels. I dropped them and replaced it with romaine lettuce and the TSH levels came back within range.
Lettuce? Please help me understand this. I'm genuinely curious if there's something I missed. But from my understanding lettuce is like 98% water, with almost no nutritional value. What's the benefit of adding it at all?
@@keirthomas2491 that's what I thought too, along with cucumbers. But just research the nutritional value of both these and you'd be surprised.
great point!
Seaweed definitely lowers my TSH.
Yea thats why I avoid spinach, but kale is much better.
Can you explain the loss of nutrients please?
Your my new MD girl 😁👍🏻
I am going to start doing them s3veral times per week if not daily. 75% deep green leafy veggies like kale or spinach, 25% whoke organic frozen berries or fruit, and a couple of teaspoons flax and/or chia seeds.
Sounds great!
What about organic non gmo oatmilk? I love the flavor and it is low in sugar with no added seed oils. I use Califia Farms 3 ingredients only. I am also concerned with kidney stones. Aren't all those greens huge contributors to stones?
Sometimes, we look for problems where there isn't any. In the wider skeem of the world and your life, alot of these things don't matter
I add garlic clove and turmeric. the apple I usually put in hides the taste.
I do add chia to a lot of my drinks but you can't let the drink sit very long because it gets too thick with the chia.
How about veggie powder such as kale or beets?
my green smoothie recipe:
kale
spinach
cucumber
coconut water
aloe vera water
chia seeds
brown flaxseeds
pineapple
green apple
banana
macha green tea powder
Nice video...I do a lot of juicing ... I always add kale, chard, beet leaves or spinach from my garden....it looked to me like your pic was beet leaves, not chard, but maybe it''s a chard variety Im not familiar with. Be well.
@3:42 Why not psyllium husk? If you only use a small amount (half a teaspoon) it makes your smoothies super thick and filling. I like eating mine with a spoon with some added nuts or hemp seeds.
if it works for you great!!
could not get it to work for me
Thank you
What about the food combination of fruit and vegetables that are not good for digestion so I here does that apple in smoothies
I don’t worry as much about that unless you have a candida or gas issue
i add a lot of psilium husk can i asj whts wrong doing this?
Is all about having a balance in my opinion
30 YEARS IS WITH ME BLENDER. HEALT LIKE ROCK 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
The key is have more veggies then fruits in your smoothie. I do 3 veg and 2 fruit or 4 veg and 2 fruit with water and always chia seed as well for extra fiber.
great tip!
Sometimes depending on the combo it can be a little sour, what I personally do and have worked for me is I tend to add a spoon of organic honey as sweetner.
yes- honey my favorite! and I love @manukahoney
Try a whole date as it has fiber.
Great you are doing this- so many of us are just feeling the effects of the Sad American Diet. But Taste is acquired, so just keep lowering the amt of sweetner little by little.
MAJOR difference in the glucose sugar that comes from whole fruits and the fructose that comes from processed sugars or that are in fruit juices
I was at vitality bowl every other day and my a1c hit PD
When I go to Mexico, I go to market to the juice stand they one that is call jugo verde that stands for green juice the base is Orange juice real one the alovera nopal captus spinash green apple and alfalfa. for 3 dollars a gallon all make nTurraly on front of you.
chia seeds must b soaked till it expands then add to any smoothy not directly.
My recipe is water, plant based organic protein powder, golden flax, matcha green powder, cacao, fresh ginger, cuke, spinach, banana, frozen wild blueberries and mango😋
It can cause cholesterol all sugar? I think it’s better to make it w water and use veggies.
Hey doctor, but don't blending actually destroy those nutrients? Can you Please clarify my doubt?
Thank you in advanced.
No it doesnt
What about using the frozen ones?
I'm adding organic no preservative aloe vera juice as my liquid base. It heals your gut :)
Great tip!
I get the opposite effect - constipation from too much fiber. I have to consume a tea that eases constipation.
Cucumber or celery base is better than water for the structured water spinach carrots kale apple. Chia seeds (soak them first… overnight or 20. Mins water soak in sunlight). Easy
What about the oxalate i see sally k. norton video
You have to add either organic olive oil or coconut oil and a Lemmon juice along wit table full of apple cider vinegar. Do this to digest green.
Just need to keep up with which have more pesticides than others
I heard from another licensed medical practitioner that should never use spinach with kale it’s a no no. It can cause thyroid issues.
uh oh, I need to change my ingredients then because I am guilty of adding both to the same smoothie 😢
can you freeze the juice after blending for later use? or will that bring down the nutrients?
you can- maybe a bit lower
Here is what is is in a nutshell. Any fruit and or vegetable blend that is mass produced and bottled up is not a healthy choice. The part where they are losing nutrients is a two part truth. The actual truth to focus on is the word "pasteurized". That word is 2 truths in one. Once when juiced and is heated, then bottled or canned, the nutrients has been dramatically reduced. They can be still good for you, but the other problem is the added sugar. Yes, I do drink low sodium V8 as it is convenient, but blending up a green smoothie is the ultimate way to go. Never add anything processed like you see people adding specialized powders that promises a so called nutrient boost. When ever you prepare a smoothie, it is best to not let it sit no more than 48 hours because the chemical make up of nutrients began to break down due to the fact that everything organic deteriorates over time. End the end, I will give you an idea of a combination to blend... 3-4 cups of Spinach, 10 table spoons of FRESH lemon juice from the actual lemon, 1 medium or large banana one granny smith apple, 1/4 of a medium or large avocado and 2/3 cup of water. More water can be added. You see, when it comes to a green smoothie, the smoothie must be a vibrant green. The greener a smoothie, the healthier it is especially for diabetics.
So so simple
Good tips thank you but I gotta say that ended up looking pretty unappetizing with that surprising weird brown color 🤢😅 I thought it would turn out all green and “healthy looking”
i use fruits, as many as possible. i still want it to be sweet. for me as long as there's nothing artificial. i'm trying to have a tasty non-artificial drink, not bitter medicine
Is green smoothie a fructose?
I make my own smoothy with fresh or frozen fruit and add some honey
Natural sugar is needed in a complete diet, like pineapple, grapes, oranges etc. Added bleached white sugar is what you dont want to much of, those pre-prepped smoothies can usually have added sugar. So in the end your own blended smoothies are way better. ALSO make sure to eat a small healthy meal b4 ur smoothie as our stomach needs us to chew in order to properly digest.
correct! but it all starts too add up
you can chew your Smoothie :D
@@DrTazMD hey, gods sugar is different to man made sugar. Please educate yourself. Look up dr sebi. You’re just a commercial health ranter. When you mix fruit with acidic foods and blood that’s when you get problems. If you only eat plants and alkaline foods you wouldn’t have any problems. Meat, dairy soy, starch, wheat all mucous inflammation. Sickness
@@DrTazMD I started plant based diet and did drink one liter of orange juice a day, witch I know isn’t a part of the plant based diet, but in the same time did I cure my diabetes 2 and loose 70 pounds in 7 months
True, I went keto and ended up going hypoglycaemic all the time and didn’t have enough carbohydrates for my exercise regime
Since a few of the ingredients of the smoothie is restricted for individuals with CKD because of high potassium and phosphorus content such as the spinach , chard, and bananas.. What are the alternatives recommend for individuals on a renal diet who wish to include the smoothie for the health benefits? As I've yet to see a smoothie recommend for people with Kidney Disease!
Mixed baby greens, kale mango green apple
Why don’t you use seeds?
Why was psyllium husk a disaster in the smoothie?
It’s not green but…Strawberries, blackberries, redcurrants, blackcurrants, broccoli, kale, spinach, banana, flaxseeds, chia seeds, sunflower seeds, hemp powder. Water.
Is that a decent recipe or should I change it? Add lemon?
I tried ginger but it was a bit strong in taste.
Will beetroot taste weird?
yes- all great additions
Organic sugar is healthier than store bought sugar or processed sugar
yes
How many cups or greens can someone have per day in their smoothie, can I drink a green smoothie every morning? I'm on the keto diet and I'm trying to get all my veggies in and smoothies are easy for me
yes you can - i think it’s hard to drink more than 2 cups per day
My mom was just diagnosed with hyperthyroidism Alzheimer’s, what can I give her to help her brain to stop the Alzheimer’s? Is there a certain smoothie I can make her?
lots of green smoothies help
Check her home for mold. Go gluten-free and dairy free. Foods that heal the gut and look into detoxification
I use collard greens, lemon and water ❤
that works
Im doing my own smoothies, what do you think about celery juice?
love it!
Celery is mainly fiber and water, similar to cucumber.
@@tealappeal80 no cucumber is a fruit low in oxalate, celery is a herb high in oxalate,, there don't really have much in common apart from fiber and water :D :D:D:D haha
I've seen some people using a strainer to separate the 'pulp/fibers' from the juice.. what are your thoughts on that?
does it do any harm drinking it directly from the blender without straining??
no it does not do any harm
Can you use unsalted peanuts instead of the Seeds.
not quite the same effect but can try for sure
one tipp! do not use greens and red or blue fruit together..it always make am ugly "brown colour!. imagine colourscale 😉your eye always eaten with you..if you use greens, then take fruits they are yellow for example, melone, apple , kiwi , whatever-.. but avoid adding green and blue and red together.. not strawberrys..or blueberrys. you can do an extra one with that fruits without using green in it...looks good tasted better😍
good point!!
I use watermelon, 1 lemon, 1 cutie orange. power greens, strawberries ,blackberries, raspberries, 4oz of power green juice that I make, 2 tablespoons each of l. Reuteri yogurt, l. Gasseri yogurt, tremella, chia seeds and sea moss. Try to use organic if you can.
I do all greens vegetables spinach kale broccoli parsley and brussel sprout no fruits like a real man
I make my own green juice and consume it same day. I dont leave it overnight.
good
Ty
I do not use fruit juices, so am good.
I read that it can be bad to mix fruits with vegetables. Is that true?
Hi
it can be hard to digest the two together- if you are having candida and yeast issues- better to separate
My smoothie has water as the base, an organic vegan protein power from Costco called Orgain, raw spinach, broccoli, and kale with cinnamon. Is it sweet? He'll no it's not sweet!!! But it is healthy and makes me feel strong. I drink it a few times a week when I don't feel like cooking the vegetables.
awesome
Generally I don’t listen to MD’s for my nutrition, rather I listen to dietitians. Sugar in fruit is just fine; but yes, never juiced.. Fruit Fiber is very important! I never use sweetener or juice. I do include quit a bit of fruit. I’m not concerned about the calories in the fruit.
Thanks for sharing!
I use one tsp of psyllium husk in my smoothies. No problem.
that’s awesome- mine congealed ???
@@DrTazMD Yes, it does get thicker by the time you finish it. 😁 I sometimes add an extra splash of water and swish it around to finish.
Spinach & Swiss chard are really high in oxalates. If you make this recipe often you’ll likely end up with kidney stones or other problems from the oxalates…
If you use spinach & Swiss chard, as a part of your smoothie, regularly, organic lemon juice which increases urine citrate can prevent and dissolve kidney stones.
Pairing it with some kind of dairy product also combats the oxalate effect
Also increases oxalates if you add almond milk.
It won’t hurt you if you aren’t in kidney failure, no problem with oxalates for most people. Really.
@@genevieve-gh3lpNope
Can you use a regular blender ?
yea!
I use 2 cups of spinach, 1 egg, half a cucumber, almond milk, plain Greek yogurt and a quarter scoop of some protein powder that’s is plant based to sweeten it up:it’s a non sugary powder. It’s great.
An MD telling you to add collagen powder 🤔
yup
I know you said the frozen fruit wasn't as nutritional as fresh fruit but what if I buy it fresh then freeze it myself? Would that take away any nutritional value from it?
this is fine
Unless you're picking your own fresh fruit, frozen is better than that which has been sitting in the supermarket for who knows how long. Frozen fruits and veggies are frozen at the peak of freshness.
Spinach too high in oxalic acid. Best to just use something else.
And tastes metallic. I don't understand the hype about spinach. Spinach sucks, tastes metallic, doesn't make you full and it's tremendously high in oxalates. Spinach is useful only for shredding it into shredding machine and then throwing it into a trashcan.
I only drank smoothies for a month without any added artificial sugar or dairy , added all kind of vegetables to it beat carrot spinach lettuce . Worked out occasionally . And after a month I climbed up to 13000 ft in the Himalayas. Someone who couldn’t even climb 2 stairs without panting . Talk about life changing experience . Avoid grains gluten related foods ,dairy, sugar processed foods ,stress and bad sleeping habits . You wil feel more alive than you’ve ever felt
I am currently pregnant and am working with a Registered licensed dietitian. I asked her about juicing and she advised:
1. to not use it as meal replacements
2. Minimize it to 1 cup (no more than 2xs a week as it high in sugar)
3. Have it as a bonus with a high protein meal
4. Do not decrease water intake. Still should be drinking plenty of water
Honestly, with my eating more protein and veggies rich in fiber, I find that I do not crave juicing like I did before
these are good tips- especially since you are pregnant
