Yes. Type “diet books” into Barnes and Noble you get “21,575 for diet books” So which one is correct? I think Amazon number would be even higher. PERMACULTURE reduces the need for inputs from off the farm. It uses animal waste and controlled animal cultivation (by pigs and goats at end of season, chicks on weed seedlings in new beds). Chicken in movable coops also significantly reduced insect pests. PERMACULTURE produces minimal waste/pollution, and BUILDS THE SOIL.
Love to listen to Dr.Li but I just have a question for him. You always refer to Mediterranean diet, what diet but I have never heard you talking about African diets. As an Africans I would love to also hear about that diet and in what ways a person can change to improve their health. Otherwise I enjoy your lessons and I'm learning a lot.
As an African, and even though Dr. Li has not referred to a specific African diet, I guess you just need to do your homework using his explanations with regards fat burning and immunotherapy to tailor-make your own Africanasian diet by making prominent use of most foods he mentioned and or their substitutes I guess. For example, make sure your diet is high in fibre like eating beans (or tofu), tomatoes, and pears or their types regularly, get lots of foods with the omega oils (fishes, lobsters even crayfishes ;), take fruits in their whole like Oranges, berries etc etc.. and most importantly eat slowly and be disciplined with your portion controls and you will definitely be on track. Well, just my thoughts and future plans regarding my AFRICANASIAN or MEDITERRANAFRICAN diets (lol)
He said red meat is bad for you, tomatoes are great for you. Other doctors said animal-based is good for you, tomatoes are bad for you. Who do I believe?
I look primarily at my family history. Fresh fruit and vegetables in season or home canned, Lots of meat cooked in animal fats and occasional homemade sweets. Reaching early nineties with this diet. I figure all I need to add is a few supplements, continue to exercise and I’ll hit 100 easily.
I really enjoy the podcast. Thanks to both gentlemen for sharing the info that benefiting not only benefiting for our health but also in consideration of the health of the environment.

I was sent this video from a person whom I am trying to lead to the Carnivore diet. It is very difficult to get people to understand that plants are toxic and everything the doctor tells you is to keep you sick so you'll keep making their Mercedes payments. The Carnivore diet allows progress although it is extremely slow. I'm at 6 1/2 months and am still waiting. After the 4th month I finally started needing less sleep. I was probably more messed up than most folks though. I love the fact that there are no hunger signals. It's a weird diet. I like weird.

Show us the research that confirms "taming" only the stems cells in fat. I do not see how that would be possible. If this works at all it would affect all stem cells which would have a negative affect on the rest of the body.
Love the video!!! This information is SO ESSENTIAL it should be taught in schools!!! With so much nonsense that's still being taught at schools after 100 something years of teaching the same old crap, crippling the human species' innate creativity from early on, isn't it common sense by now that we should first and foremost learn about our body and how to properly take care of it??? Healthy body, healthy mind. I'd dare to say (based on the hard evidence found on research studies and the daily visual cues when commuting) that a whopping 95% of all diseases and disorders we develop as adults (physical AND mental), are almost always exclusively a direct consequence of improper food choices. Right education is just one of the many endeavors that we must push for that will undoubtly guide humanity in the right direction.
I eat tons coffee salt and have low blood pressure and my blood markers show it's in the lower bracket of sodium. I carnivore too. Fiber is very hard on my tummy. I see this in so many people.
Very nice conversation with a lot of information. However could you put more commercials in? Yes. I Don't think you have enough maybe 1 every 60 seconds.
I did gain weight when eating these foods, which is why I finally went all carnivore. I suppose that those gaining weight just didn't write emails to him.
20:12 As an informed Carnivore we have the farming wrong: Currently Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation (CAFO) is the norm, where as regenerative farming is fringe. It should be the other way around for many reasons: Animals-is just not natural for the species, fed the wrong food types, no mobility, increased animal disease requiring vet intervention (they stand in their own faeces) and muscles atrophy, they ingest glyphosate treated grains with flow on to us, also deceased quality of life being confined likely increasing mental issues-just look what happens to confined Orca (Killer Whales), -planet: soil microbes need grazing paddock rotated animals so each paddock gets faeces (natural fertiliser) and the grasses don’t get overeaten which keeps the grass plants healthy and strong. This also aids in very much reducing/eliminating soil erosion. Our topsoil layer is being depleted greatly as well as soil nutrients. Regenerative farming is earth conscious! Ultimately we benefit from all this. VOTE with your dollars if you can. It’s the only way we can effect change. I believe CAFO is cruel.
I eat Starkist albacore tuna. I make tuna patties and tuna salad. I like salmon and plan to try salmon patties from canned salmon, I eat Snow's wild minced clams in can in a soup and i vegetable dip. I cheat and have Sea Pak breaded shrimp once a month. If I could afford it I would have crab, lobster, scallops. I love walnuts that I put in my chicken and tuna salad and I add chopped apple and Dollar Tree craisins. These are sweetened but I only use about a third if a package in my tuna salad. And since I eat very little sugar I'm ok with this. I eat the stuff that helps you eliminate micro-plastics and have heard if you only eat fish 2-3 times a week you are ok with the mercury.
Fantastic, thorough discussion. Too bad that someone did not limit the advertising; every ~ 3 minutes, if more frequently, an ad. appeared. I would have not continued with viewing the video, if it was not as good as it was.. 😢
Love this doctor, he is proof that we should always always always test everything. I disagree greatly on his stand for "shrimps" they are real bad, loaded with cholesterol, they eat poop just as lobster, really bad for your health. He bought the idea that cattle industry is bad for the planet, give me a break, millions of people live because of this industry, it's a million times better to eat a steak than to eat shrimps, lobster or pork... scientific fact. 99% of his information is to be heard and applied to our lives despite of what I wrote above.

My friend turned 101 in April, and she is still active. I wish everybody would live this long, nothing special about her diet, she never ate junk food,

Yes he is both wrong and also compromising health to fucus on anythign else.
Yep, lost me when he blathering on about that. Phttt.
Cattle/ animals that graze on grass in a pasture are not harming the planet. Free range chickens are great too...👍😺
@@yamaharider8014 Very true, it has been shown they actually help increase the CO2 stored in soil leading to a net reduction in CO2!
Fresh fruit and vegetables in season or home canned,
Lots of meat cooked in animal fats and occasional homemade sweets.
Reaching early nineties with this diet.
I figure all I need to add is a few supplements, continue to exercise and I’ll hit 100 easily.
Believe yourself.. test them out on yourself...be patient

If you eat healthy, fruit, vegetables and no processed food! My mom lived to 93! She didn't eat any white bread at all! But ate butter, cream, porridge oats, vegetables, fruit, good quality meats, no processed meats.

Carbs are not an essential nutrient.
Meat and fat is.
I was vegan30 yrs, then keto, now carnivore. Never felt better.
A good coffee w whole cream in the morning is my treat.
Athritis stopped.
When i eat bad at holidays Athritis returns as a little warning but never as bad as it was because i go back carnivore.
Same!! Have ankylosis spondylitis an autoimmune disease was on high level pain medicine management just to function. Went carnivore two years ago, I am now in remission, no signs of my autoimmune disease and No more pain meds!! I am previous vegetarian. They lied to us!! Carbs are not needed!
Worried about heart problems and getting grass finished meat in uk if I was convinced the fat content wouldn't screw my heart.

We get told different things from different doctors, who are we supposed to believe, food shouldn't be so confusing.
I eat a modified version of what my family ate to live into their nineties: meat and vegetables and grain, largely local, homegrown and organic. Dessert about once a week, generally homemade.
Minimal ultra-processed foods, and food made at home with butter, olive oil and animal fats.
@mrs.americanpie2079 that's what I'm doing but I'm still in chronic pain and depressed, I don't know what else I can do,I'm so confused,do all the right things and I'm still sick and now I'm broke because all the money I have goes on food,if I had my health it would be worth it but I don't.

So funny! I grew up vegetarian also and Taco Bell was a staple. BUT, back then TB was putting lard in their refried beans! So we were all eating lard…

Thanks, Dr. This is very helpful information.
"Eat More, Weigh Less" Dr. Ornish was right.
Dr. Ken Berry doesn’t LIE! Perhaps you should try listening to him sometime... Actually there are many more I won’t waste my time here on.

I eat tons coffee salt and have low blood pressure and my blood markers show it's in the lower bracket of sodium. I carnivore too. Fiber is very hard on my tummy. I see this in so many people.
I’m the opposite… fiber helps my stomach and meat and cheese aggravate it.
This is an amazing interview!!!😊😮
I think you have to peel the skin and get rid of the seeds of tomatoes as there is lectin ( gut killer) in skins in seeds.
Very nice conversation with a lot of information. However could you put more commercials in? Yes. I Don't think you have enough maybe 1 every 60 seconds.
As much as I always enjoy your content, it is painfully excruciating to watch because of the ridiculously excessive number of ads!
I did gain weight when eating these foods, which is why I finally went all carnivore.

Is it possible to restore lost lean muscle mass?
20:12
As an informed Carnivore we have the farming wrong:
Currently Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation (CAFO) is the norm, where as regenerative farming is fringe.
It should be the other way around for many reasons:
Animals-is just not natural for the species, fed the wrong food types, no mobility, increased animal disease requiring vet intervention (they stand in their own faeces) and muscles atrophy, they ingest glyphosate treated grains with flow on to us, also deceased quality of life being confined likely increasing mental issues-just look what happens to confined Orca (Killer Whales),
-planet: soil microbes need grazing paddock rotated animals so each paddock gets faeces (natural fertiliser) and the grasses don’t get overeaten which keeps the grass plants healthy and strong.
Thank you for your comment….everything you said was absolute truth ❗️
Salmon patties … plan to cook outside. Odor lingers a looong time. 😂
I’m imagining is that at least some of he effect of what people are NOT eating, instead, has contributing to the weight loss as well.

Eating shrimp will not raise your cholesterol if you avoid gluten, sugar and refined carbs...

My friend turned 101 in April, and she is still active. I wish everybody would live this long, nothing special about her diet, she never ate junk food,
He wrote the book, then he was surprised at the results, then he investigated the science behind it. I thought research went the other way around.

They are talking about 2 different books. He first wrote Eat to Beat Disease. The response to the information in that book sparked his interest in how, why and which foods were causing the weight loss. Then from that research came the book, Eat to Beat Your Diet. The biggest problem I have with eating seafood is the decimation of the oceans even within the last generation. It is a REAL issue.
Seaspiracy, yup. Yet to watch the video but when it comes to minerals seaweed is great.
The real issue is growth of African and partially asian populations. People need to eat and seafood is limited but comparing to europeans who have negative growth or even asians who stopped their once unbriddled fertility Africans still have tens of kids per woman. Global populations now 8.5 billion in 2022 from 2.1 billion in 1950. WE are the parasites of the planet.

In my 83 years no doctor has ever talked about foods or diet.
Very true
Our healthcare system in America is so overwhelmed. Doctors barely have time to explain what medicines you’re taking or what foods you should and shouldn’t eat
When you talk about green tea is it the expensive dark green powder or are green tea bags okay. Thank you
Fascinating- especially the traditional food ways material and the gene therapy - DNA - protection / DNA support sections.
It’s really difficult to gain weight when you eat a lot of plants, especially if you eat them in their whole form.
youd need to add plant based protien
Also amino acids, iron, oils for brain & skin health etc
Nowhere did I say I only eat plants. I eat all the food groups, including some junk foods I probably shouldn’t. It doesn’t make what I said any less true.
