The first food on the list should be the word of God. The Bible said in Proverbs 4:22 For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh.

That's true, even I when not feeling well just pray and for some reasons i get well without taking medicines. At 68 no maintenance, i just listen to my body, it sends distress call when you eat something that it doesn't like. Make a journal of what foods you eat in a day and how you feel waking up, if you feel pain avoid those foods.

Caffeine is not good for us, it depletes electrolytes, vitamins and minerals and simply blocks the neurotransmitters of fatigue so it’s a false feeling of energy and increases adrenaline etc. Hence why it can deplete our nutrients instead of giving true energy with nutrients. Yes green tea and coffee have antioxidants because they are plants but just get your antioxidants from non caffeinated sources.

Amazing video A month ago, my partnership of five years came to an end. The choice to break up with the person I love is something that really gets to me. Even though it's all for nothing, I've done everything I can to get him back, and I couldn't imagine my existence without him. I've tried everything to stop thinking about him, but I still can't help but miss him and think about him often. I don't know why I am saying this here.

Saying goodbye to someone you love is difficult; I know this from my 12-year relationship ending. But I was unable to simply let him go, so I made every effort to get him back. I eventually sought aid from a spiritual counselor, who was able to help me regain his affection.

all i know is my Grandma and Great Grandma lived into late their late 90’s. this was there menu…. boiled water kept in a glass pitcher in fridge, broiled chicken and beef patties. with salt n pepper, (they didn’t use buns) steamed broccoli, carrots, potatoes, basic shredded lettuce salad with carrots and tomatoes the salad using mayo and ketchup for dressing, skim milk, breakfast was shredded wheat the big squares with cut up banana, or fried egg on top of buttered toast, cut up cantaloupe, grapefruit and oranges and every night a shot of wine or sherry before bed, and always said their prayers upon waking and then again before they went to bed. God had everything to do with their decision’s including food and habits. my husbands folks are now in their 90’s and follow a similar but different menu.

    Here’s a clue:
I learned how to clean blood vessels naturally
I was getting dizzy which didn’t resolve by long slow deep breath, therefore it wasn’t respiratory but circulatory.
Carotids tested positive for obstruction (clogging)
I Learned that if you use mouth wash
It destroys the natural essential bacteria needed ( so dont use mouth wash… )
if you have a good healthy hydrochloric acid in stomach
Then eat DARK GREENS KALE beets SPINACH - those types of things it acts like a blood vessel cleaner - I happen to have low stomach acid (achloridria). So. I take apple cider Vinagar tablets with dark veggies and my dizziness is for most part gone in few weeks!
If I keep it up my vessels will be clean again
    Does that help anyone?
    PS
NEVER EVER TAKE ANT ACIDS BECAUSE ALTHOUGH it will temporarily make you “feel “ better it’s the opposite of what you need.
You stomach acid pH needs to be around 2. Antacids are going to raise pH levels.
If instead, you increase the acid in your stomach, it will close the espophogeal Gastric sphincter and heartburn will go away. try it
    It works!
    if you take any antacids
Your food cannot be digested and it will rot, make gas bloating etc. Not good idea.
    Summary. NO mouth wash
If not sure, take apple cider vinegar
Eat dark greens or other dark veggies
As far as fats are concerned, never use the seed oils
Only organic raw unfiltered coconut oils organic butter grass fed butter meats
    Free range eggs no gmos
no processed foods ( best you are able)
    sugar to minimum

Don’t go hog wild on fruit though. You need to pay attention to smaller or moderate amounts relevant to your particular metabolism and needs. I am a diabetic on keto with IF and it serves me very well. But I feel best when I eat A LITTLE fruit. I eat 1/4 of large grapefruit with stevia on it every day after the 2nd meal of my 2 meals a day. If I ate it at breakfast it would tend to make my blood sugar go up too much and affect my blood sugars all day to be somewhat higher than otherwise. So I never eat fruit at breakfast. I eat it as my dessert after my only other meal of the day ( only 2 meals a day, rarely ever a snack). When I eat it after the meal which is protein & low carb vegetables then the sugar rise from it small. When I eat berries in my goat yogurt I can only tolerate 4 cherries at a time, 5-6 blueberries at a time and two strawberries. In fall I gather free unsprayed crabapples mid July thru early August before they seeeten and the same with wild pears. I gather red September apples unsprayed from the public venue and I eat the high polyphenol skins with a potato peeler and and eat those in my salad and give my friend the peeled apples to make apple sauce with ‘but the apple itself has too much sugar for me. Check your glucose levels when you eat fruit though to know what’s happening to your blood sugar. I figure I can tolerate 1/2 of a kiwi a day. I’m 70.

i saw Dr. Li with Dr.Mark Hyman a couple of weeks ago and bought his new book. I love his delivery in both writing and on this podcast. He is so definite about his beliefs and what food does in the body, but he leans heavily on people making their own judicious choices, given the scientific facts to elicit a healthy outcome. I live in Berlin where great organic food is on the corner, and there's nothing in his books that is inaccessible here. I'm 78. and was diagnosed with diabetes six years ago. I'm fortunate enough to have a doctor who believes that I am in tune with my own body, and knows I want to reduce the amount of metformin I take. My Alc is now 5.7, a drop from 6.1 in the last six months, but I've also lost 14 pounds in that time. I appreciate Dr. Li's trust in patients to lose weight, have a healthy metabolism and blood sugar and gut without drugs. He makes it feel so possible with a the most excellent reason to do so--overall good health through healthy food.

To Dr. Li's intro summary I would add 'attending to portion size' to carbo foods. We grow up eating double to quintuple portions of carbo - and one serving a meal is all we need in most cases. One slice of bread, 1/4 cup of pasta or rice is a serving.
Double or triple the veg - and lower the carbo portion unless your life is very physically active.

Yes green tea and coffee have antioxidants because they are plants but just get your antioxidants from non caffeinated sources.

It might have been alright in the past. And there are exceptions to the rule but they are doing too much to it in processing & to the animals to be good for us to drink every day. I use activated charcoal capsules to rid myself of occasional stomach issues if i or someone in my family has eaten an unhealthy food or processed food that didn't agree with us. It works very well. I also take an activated charcoal capsule occasionally ( maybe once a week or bi- weekly, when i remember) to potentially absorb any possible toxins i might have. It's only speculation that it's helping on that second idea, but for ending stomach upset, it seems to work very nicely. Also easy to keep a few activated charcoal capsules with you wherever you go on the road or at work. Easier to carry than an entire bottle of kaopectate, and for us, it's even more effective. But again, i think it's sometimes impossible to completely avoid processed foods. .. so maybe activated charcoal, taken on a schedule, once a week or bi-weekly, or even just once a month, might help remove toxicity from the digestive system.

It is not impossible to avid process food, I haven't had any for at least 10 years, when I travel I take a banana and an apple or fast if is not clean food, activate charcoal is great but also absorbe the nutrients of the food, so take it only when necessary, if you have an upset stomach it means that food is not good for you, even if society day it is, oats makes me sick so I don't eat them but the whole planet is saying is so good for you,

Dr. Li has some very good principles and practical tips on how whole plant foods can improve our metabolism. However, Sumo wrestlers are not healthy and do not live healthy lifestyles. To get to that weight they eat highly refined carbs with high fat. They are well known to have a much higher mortality than the average Japanese person. They also have a higher rate of osteoarthritis that begins in high school. Training for the Olympics is a very different goal than longevity. In fact, it is well known excess exercise suppresses the immune system and makes people susceptible to infectious diseases.
