I am 83 and have NO health issues. I stay away from processed food, fast 2 seperate days a week (t & th), eat 4x a day (9am, 12noon, 3pm, & 6pm). I eat only 1 thing per meal (it makes it easier for my system to digest), stay away from processed food and sweets), and I never get hungry. I stay away from anger, hate, and anything or anyone that is negative. My weight stays at 123-125. If I encounter a difficult situation- I step back look at the WHOLE picture and step in with a positive attitude get it done, SMILE and and go on with the day.
My daughter asks how come I never yell, scream, or get mad - she says I am too happy! You can never be too happy. I plan to live to be a healthy 113yrs. My doctor says more like 125! Fine with me!
It is YOUR life, time to take control and PLAN the rest of your journey!

My crazy story. 64 years old, don’t drink, don’t smoke, no recreational drugs. Last year got diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Ductal Adenocarcinoma which ranks as one of the top two deadliest cancers a human can get. So a 9 1/2 hour surgery, 9 day hospital stay, followed up with 6 months of chemotherapy and I’m now after my first post chemotherapy treatments cancer free. Keep fighting for the cure.

You say you don' t drink, smoke, do drugs. But have you ever? Now, sure, you don't. But what about before, during youth?
If not its just another example of genes that can be activated for some reason or, - lets not forget this - one is over exposed to products that can cause cancer. Many just get out of the market, banned - YEARS after their use. (coincidence?). We also smoke second hand (a lot of packages per day) and we inhale car fumes.

I quit sodas more than 20 years ago, and my blood pressure was back to normal within 2 weeks. Gave up anything that has an ingredients list I can't pronounce. Dropped salt about the same time. Quit sugar 10 years ago - honey is my only sweetener. I'm now 75, haven't needed to see a doctor in years, and am disgustingly healthy with low blood pressure, good circulation and no worries. Only shop the outer edge of a supermarket, read every lable, and focus on non-GMO, organic, and home-grown food for a better life.

With help from family medical people I am in good shape one year later and am not on medication and walk 2 to 4 miles a day! I eat healthy, don't smoke, don't drink alcohol, drink plenty of water and take vitamins for seniors!
When I go for my annual physical, and I'm asked what medication I'm on, and I answer NONE, they look at me like I'm from Mars.

Exactly! I’m pretty sick of all the “UA-cam doctors” pushing the keto diet relentlessly and “demonizing” fruits, when there isn’t any scientific evidence supporting that keto is the best diet for health and longevity. Just look at all the centenarians and supercentenarians in the Blue Zones. They don’t practice any keto and each Blue Zone has different diets of their own. So it’s pretty ridiculous and unscientific to push keto like it’s some silver bullet for the best health and longevity. I take everything with a grain of salt, unless there is irrefutable scientific evidence that supports any kind of health claims on keto p, vegan, or carnivore.

Love Dr. Li’s educational approach as opposed to ‘ follow this diet or that diet religiously’
He lays out the nutrient positives to hundreds of plant foods, includes acceptance of quality grass fed pastured animal products and wild caught Pacific salmon and encourages choices among the plant based and acceptable animal/ fish options.
I am addicted to following his Master Class videos to find out ‘ what walnuts do, what beet juice does, what pastured eggs do’ etc etc. I love knowing beyond what is “ bad” and what plant based actually looks like. He simply advocates WFPB ( not vegan, paleo, keto etc) and shows how stunning plants are for our bodies.
I eat 90% plants, 10% animal products ( very few and very narrow choices, grass pastured eggs, a llttle milk in my coffee my mornings would be sad w/o whole milk froth, no sugar plain organic greek yogurt, a few servings of wild caught Pacific salmon)….absolutely No added sugar, but a little 80% dark dark chocolate
Loving the foods I am eating and also shook off benign heart arrhythmia and am maintaining 115 weight without even thinking about it
Thank You Dr. Li for the fascinating education on nutrition without pushing a specific diet that cuts out entire groups of food groups……you give us the best paints and leave the easel and imagination to the student

Its a rarity I have breakfast because after doing INTERMITTENT FASTING or OMAD over time, I just dont feel hungry! It was hard at first but relatively easy these days.
Yes Im Diabetic but still cant get my level down to 5 (I sit at about 7 to 7.5) because Ive got so much stress going on that I just cant get rid off for many reasons.
Everyone keeps on and keeps on telling me to go on to meds!
NO I WILL NOT - I FLATLY REFUSE.
Once Im on meds, Ill lose my ability to get off them again.
As I am, Im HAVING TO watch what I eat myself instead of using synthetic 'killers' and then stray away from what I am able to manage myself (bar the stress).
Something may be going to change soon (something that may be ' NEW BEGINNINGS' in my life 🤞🤞🙏🙏.
If so, that will take a vast strain off my life + then it will then be more trials to get to the next stage.
Ill know before Xmas and NO IM NOT GETTING REMARRIED or anything similar to that.
Ill then have to have maybe TWO more ops after an accident I had back in August 2017 (which after I became T2D!)
Ive had 2 ops - one a revision and in Sep it will be another op - all from my falling and passing out because of the fault of where I was.
I was told I wasnt looking where I was walking - BUT OMG I REALLY WAS.
It was the company itselfs fault. Ive needed a rest since then but will start a re attack on them to try to seek the compensation I am due.
I was always out most days - now its a rarity Im out at all.

I follow a 'DO NOT EAT ANYTHING THAT GROWS UNDERGROUND', no tomatoes, fruit juice, flour, pastas etc. Cant remember all of them offhand but know when I see or hear it.
I generally eat chicken, fish & pork and simple veggies but love a green salad during summer especially and always use my 'home made' organic ACV w 'Mother' & a good quality Olive Oil.
      I don't stray from this.
I love Green Tea , Matcha etc but never if possible eat luncheon meats.
I now only use a good quality Grass Fed Ghee!
I like it, in that it lasts so long and it doesnt have to go into a fridge!
I go to a grandchild's party & do have a piece of cake BUT its such a small piece.
I have always liked drinking water and still do so even now.
I buy water in a cardboard container and keep it in the outdoor fridge and keep decanting it into bottles to put into the inside fridge.
I need to desperately go to the 'bottlo' to get a refund of all the small bottles Ive accumulated over such a long time.
At 10c/bottle, I should get a fair bit of money (considering), to put away!
      Wish me luck please!

I just want to start off by saying I was so sick with diabetes high blood pressure and thyroid cancer was on insulin for my diabetes I was taking 6 pills a day I started looking up what I can do to fix my health so I started Intermittent Fasting I tried 12 hours at first it was very hard I also was 300 pounds so I was used to eating breakfast lunch and dinner plus I was snacking all day long after 6 months of fasting 12 hours a day I was eating in a 12 hour window then I started to see I wasn’t hungry for breakfast so I skipped breakfast then was not eating lunch and after a while I felt so good so I went to a 20 fast with eating food in a 4 hour window and that would be just dinner and a couple of snacks after that I lost 100 pounds only take medicine for my thyroid it’s the best thing I ever did for my life I’m also not diabetic no more life is good 😁

Eating within a 4-hour window is too difficult for me to eat everything I need to eat to maintain the healthy levels of nutrients I need. I tried again and again and it’s not too difficult and stressful. I don’t have any weight to lose or any health conditions, just doing intermittent fasting because it’s touted as healthy. 8 hours is easier for me. Congrats on losing all that weight and improving your health.

Another lady in the emergency waiting room asked what I was watching so I shared with her. Although I am worried about my health problems, I am happy I could finally get someone to want your help. Thank you both so much for all the information. I am 70 and have been eating & living a healthy lifestyle since 1975. I am always harrassed by people & body shamed as they don't get why I eat OR don't eat certain foods. I never drink soda, I'm lucky I don't like it. I don't eat any fish. I was brought up in a house that ate it 3 times a week and I have never liked it, even though I was forced to eat it. (Needless to say) I brought it up EVERY TIME! I do follow the signs of my body & it reacts in a bad way from chemicals in food and junk food etc. You have made me feel so much better about myself. I have been on a path for the last yr to know myself better than I ever did before. I appreciate the way you both talk in a way everyone can understand and don't send out anything to the audience to make peole feel bad about themselves. GREAT JOB!! Thank you very much, I greatly enjoyed this enlarged enlightening talk!
I am a chef and more, educated in social sciences. I always belived in fastening, not over eating. Intermittent fastening, diciplined meals...I eat what I feel for, I never took any weight and have same body measures as when I was 17 years old. I almost never climbed a scale, dont measure my size. I do smoke, I drink alcohol but i never did any drugs. I cook all my food myself, never drink milk and avoid sugar. I am almost 60 yrs old, people believe I am in my late thirties or early forties. I eat everything I wish, sleep 8 hrs at least and I am considered to have a good energy and just a good go. I am not fanatic but: I refuse over- processed oils, soda's, light products. I am a Mediterranian diet supporter. And fasten two times ten days a year, mainly to cleanse my body and especially lungs, also in order to give my body a chance. I am born with cholesterol factor, and my cholesterol rockets without medication. We have it in my family. Yet, my doctor says my liver is soft as a babies, and my physical condition is that of 25- year old sportsmans. I bicyckle, not able to run any longer. I am happy and contented foodie.
I think this is so very genetic and in a way predestined to be the one I am and do. My goal is not to be youngish or not even young looking, I am more into being able to do things I like. Traveling, hiking, fishing, climbing, photography, painting. Especial thanks for one specific sentence: do what you enjoy !
Relax, enjoy life, think sometimes of your earthfile and consuption. And I always keep my grandfathers teaching in mind: one day a week, just do nothing, relax, enjoy life, take a cigarette, drink, have sex, take a nap. Look around and see all the good!

3:04 I think the reason people don’t change a bad diet is because once you have been following that diet for a long period of time, your body is very smart, and you try to switch directions and your body pull you back to a state of confortable way the body was before! That we all should put a fight to change, absolutely!!!

Beans are rich in phosphorus, especially Great Northern, chickpeas, navy and pinto beans, which all contain at least 250 mg per cup (164 to 182 grams) If you have chronic kidney disease Stage 3 - 5 you can easily go over your daily limit for phosphorus. Soaking the beans with multiple water changes will help reduce the phosphorus content.

Hi, You say that there is no "clicker" to tell us when to stop eating....but in Ayur Veda there is! When you eat and burb the first time, that is the time to stop eating. At that time the stomach is 2/3 full and that is the best volume for good digestion.

i love this one thank you for both!❤ But i never buy canned food. I believe all food i get should come as it is not canned, so do beans. Beans taste so much more real and alive when I cook them versus eating a canned version. Same goes for food powders such as onion, tomato or garlic powder. It is better to get the real vegetable and process it at home.

Good information. I have lost a lot of weight, but I did not go on a "diet", I changed my diet. The trigger was a divorce. Through a long marriage, I am in my late 60s, my wife sort of led the way on food. Now, I cook regularly as well. What I did was to cut out sugar (no sweeteners), gluten (she liked wheat pasta), all processed foods and all sodas, etc. At home I am basically pescatarian, but I don't always eat fish. For a while I would have an orange or apple each day, but currently do not eat fruit regularly. I start the day with rolled oats (I hear lots of bad things about these, but I have seen none of the effects) with butter and a little salt and cinnamon. I have a "snack" after that, usually nuts. Then for supper I have veggies and either fish, lentils (whole or in a pasta made just with lentil flour) or nothing else. I will also put on some cheese sometimes. For drinks I have water usually with lemon juice, no sweetener, brewed tea or coffee. I lost almost 50 pounds. I had gotten close to 200. This happened fairly quickly after the change in diet. Then, about a year ago, I stopped drinking. I immediately lost another inch on the waist. I am down to where I was in weight and shape in my 20s. No joint pain (I had started to have a little) and the high blood pressure went away.
There are a few interesting things that Dr. Li mentioned that I do and that some other physicians who have health channels on UA-cam caution against. One prominent one, just call him Dr. G, seems to contradict what I have experienced. One of the interesting foods is the chili peppers. I sometimes grow them, but I always have crushed red chilis on my vegetables. I love it. Now I know why. Another is lentils, usually red or golden. I don't soak them. The way I cook them is to put the lentils in water with a little salt and then boil them as opposed to putting them into boiling water. I don't get gas from them this way. As for seafood, I love basically all of it. I do eat salmon, but I also love cod. I actually find cooking them in the microwave on an automatic setting cooks them perfectly.
