I like the first one. The background horizon broadly follows the line of the castle and the hill in the mid-range creating an interesting parallel symmetry.
Thanks for the comment. I took a few more than the Vlog reveals (but it was dull content) and I struggled with that very strong line of shadow commanding what was ‘level’. I did like the fact that I could achieve different looks with minor elevation changes. I have to wonder what it would look like at sunset!
To be honest Eddie, I liked all the pics, leaning towards the 1st as top of the list, the colour was excellent, perspective spot on, would look great in a frame. Regards Rob.
Well done Eddie you passed the endurance test for Cavedale. When we went it was icy which was far worse and we did not venture onto the ups. At least you have done some lard arse pre training for Iceland, and made it to the barn , which in the right conditions can make a great shot. I have a preference for the tree shot in this video. Looking forward to hear you moan about the cold😆😆
great video Eddie i went here about 2 weeks ago and used all trails route which was really good but it was after a downpour so was really slippy but this didn't detract from just how beautiful cavedale and winnats pass is. its definitely up there as one of my favourites
@@EddieSkelson I tried to stay on the grass but as I come off it I ended up on my backside then going through cavedale towards winnats pass I was glad I had my poles or I'd have been on my arse again 🤣🤣. Still loved every minute
Second one , I like the sinuous leading line. down the valley. The other two were a bit too chocy box for me. Saturation was maybe a bit rich. Enjoy Iceland
Cheers Paul, actually not heavy on the saturation (although that’s the second note of that) its the gradient applied to give it the look I like. I may post up a few of the shots without this gradient (although it’s kind of a style of mine) so you can see which you prefer.
Firstly congratulations on the Fawlty Towers reference 'wilderbeast marching majestically across the plain' 😅 I think Cave Dale has potential but the conditions need to be better. I've seen some great images in the snow and I'm sure mist will also help. As for the Barn up on top I've not visited myself but agree that it's now lost an integral part (the dead tree) to make it a great composition any more. I certainly won't be rushing up there 😊
The second image did it for me but appears to be a tad over-saturated, or it could be my monitor. BVit more drone work could have been good for the gorge work.
Cheers Andy, by the time I loosed the drone I was knackered, and if you saw me just ten minutes after THAT… my word. I’ll be writing it up in the Community tab…
Yes - love the monochrome tree...
Great tree that! I was beginning to think I wouldn’t get a decent tree shot and then that bad boy appeared.
Loved the drone shot at 5.48
DJI Air 2 producing the goods there.

Nice one Eddie, for me it was image A showing the hills in the background adding perspective. Love the moaning about up hills and boring ruins.
Moaning is my thing. Moaning and trees… Cheers Alan, 😂

Cheers Rob.
Hi, l like the first image. I find the composition more pëeasing with the background hills
I liked the hills too. Added a sense of distance.
B for me. Like the S curve leading towards the castle. Liked the colour version of the tree image also.
Thanks Paul. Interesting how there is a good number of folks (across my platforms) are split on the colour/B&W tree shot.
Not normally a blue sky man but really enjoyed that image 👍
Enjoyed the video Eddie keep making them. great images as well.
Thanks Danny

That’s so rude. I rarely moan.
Great Video, loved the lab quip :)
Thanks! 😀
Hi Eddie, didn't you hear me shouting 'You are going the wrong way!' I guess not but you turned it around with a couple of very nice shots!
Ha. I’m as deaf as a post anyway. Cheers Steve.

It was SO slippy for me. I genuinely thought I would smash my skull on those rocks buddy.

Thanks Tufty. Good to know there’s folks out there who know their comedy 🎭
08:00 i prefer the first image. The focus is the castle. Second one looks odd been portrait and the third the people become the subject.
Cheers! I don’t usually have people in my shots which is precisely why left them in. Oddly enough my missus liked the ‘people’ shot.
