  • PHDesigns - Alpine Ultra Half Bag
Half bags are awesome to make up a sleep system when you are already carrying a down jacket to keep weight to a minimum. This one only weighs 250g so can be used to sleep in as it is or as an extra layer inside another full sleeping bag for very cold conditions. I look forward to testing it further!

PHDesigns - Yukon Down Pullover: K Series
Amazingly warm for just 355g! I love the fact that it’s a pullover so you can join your hands in the pocket to keep warm. It has a typical operating temperature of -15C so perfect for UK winters and even high altitude expeditions. This will definitely be my go to jacket for winter camping with… warm, ultra lightweight and small packsize👌
    www.phdesigns....
    PHDesigns - Minimus Down Trousers
Ultralight (230g) packable down trousers using 900 fill power down. Simple design to reduce weight but functionally perfect for those colder nights at camp with a typical operating temperature of -5C.

I'm from Sheffield, it's on my doorstep so to speak and had many a drenching up there, apart from one proper scare trying to take a shortcut down a really narrow ravine in bad weather cos I was desperate to get off and down! Got stuck and I think you can guess how I felt. Ended up going back up to the summit even more wet, knackered and with legs full of lactic acid....the joys of kinder on a bad day....😂

I think climbers years ago christened that area of weirdly shaped rocks 'Whipsnade', after the zoo, thinking of the rocks as surreal animals. Love Kinder Scout. There's so much to explore: Grindsbrook, Kinder Downfall, the Kinder river, Kinder Gates, etc., etc. Fantastic under snow.

Besides going to Matlock on a school residential, I've also never visited the Peak District. I don't know why but I just find it much easier to travel north from where I live. More sceneic route I guess.
When you were up on those rocks, my first thought was, they are not a patch on Brimham Rocks. 😅 Some of them did look rather cool though, especially the one with the peaked cap.
Nice to see you somewhere new.
    Thanks Al. 👊

Absolutely loads of really cracking flat pitches in the woolpacks chap.

It was all very wet and boggy though. I’ll go back in summer😉

Perhaps I should rephrase that as absolutely loads of flat well drained pitches that are ideal go to's when the rest of the plateu is under water, the rock you called the frog we know as the upturned hand, is actually out of the woolpacks.

Ah the Peak, my early stomping ground, and easily accessible to Mancunians and other such northern breeds. Millstone grit is lovely to climb and there's no shortage of great places to go boldering too. Stay out of the peat bogs at all costs !!!!

Good content as usual, another place we might try for a little walk, thank you. I’ll not lie I did miss Bluey but when he’s not with you it’s like Ant without Dec! 😂😂 We have been up round Levers water today and I have to say I did shout out a couple of times ‘Bushy are you there’? Sadly no reply! Keep them coming, thank you for all your hard work. ❤

Great video. I went to the peak district about ten years ago. It was in summer, I remember it being dryer than now but still plenty of peat bogs (like Dartmoor😂). I really like the down jacket, but I'm not sure about half of a sleeping bag!
