  • In this video, Nova goes into detail about what persecutors do and why they are the way that they are. They are some of the most misunderstood alters, and hopefully this video can clear up some of the misconceptions.

      Thank you for this information.
We have a few persecutors in our system
And one of which tends to be the most upfront about their actions they tend to not have remorse over why they do what they do
At least without system-(amber from system vibrant)

@@Simona-wd3xu he got pissed off, started giving us nightmares by slipping into dreams and changing them from dreams to trauma scenes and when he came back he was not only a prosecutor but a pissed off prosecutor. he did everything in his power to torment us and the people we cared about. that was before we learned his age has allot to do with how he feels about what hes done. as a teen and adult he thinks its hilarious. as a kid hes overwhelmed with guilt so our (i honestly dont know what to call tom he is kinda. scary powerful in comparison to all of us but peaceful? hes a gatekeeper and a guide for us, and he made our headspace what it is today) aged him down to about 9 where hed not be overwhelmed by malice or guilt but could learn to deal with both

i dont have did, but i would imagine persecutors are prolly just like any other 'problem child'. usually theyre seen as terrible people, but in reality theyre usually just trying their best to deal with their own personal issues, and dont have the healthiest coping mechanisms. once you give them the tools they need to cope in a more productive way, the 'problem behaviors' usually dwindle, or stop altogether

We have a persecuter/protector. We just call him a protector though. He is angry a lot of the time and he scared everyone who knew us and he scared us. We tried to keep him back until someone asked him why. They asked him why he was angry, why he hurt us, why he wanted to die, why he hated certain people and fought all the time. We learned a lot more about him and see him as a protector to us. He wants to make sure no one hurts us again. He can be pretty rough, but it's his way of showing love. Tough love. He still has a lot to work on but we love him and try to show encouragement and support to him whenever we can.

D- They did this with me. But I got out, and now they're actually getting to know me. So that's been better. But yea this whole "evil alter" thing really painted me awful to everyone. And...I ended up really hurting the host a lot. But I'm recovering now. I'm fixing it.

Most of our persecutors have horrible mental disorders and self harm on the body. They are just very damaged babies needing love and protection to show them better ways of coping with these things. Sinner is our main persecutor but he’s also a protector. He tries to front most of the time and protect everyone from external threats but he’s the one who self harms the most when fronting. He’s been doing good lately though and hasn’t relapsed in a while.

That’s now we got one of persecutors to chill out a bit. He had stolen front and was trying to “get rid of them all” but our friend helped him realize that by trying to be the only one that could front, he was hurting everyone he was trying to help. Now he is working on becoming less aggressive towards others and “reentering our society” (as one of the gatekeepers called it). - Daybringer

we made the mistake of avoiding our persecutor and seeing him as a bad person, and it just made him worse. we thought he was just bad with no reason because of what he'd do, but in reality he was just upset with himself. he was a introject of our abuser and he hated himself for that, so he'd take it out on everyone else and the body. he's much better now, and we're happy we got everything figured out.

    Ex-persecutor here.
All I ever wanted to do was to help. I thought that making us present more neurotypically would help, but it. It really didn't.
    Obviously.
I probably *caused* more trauma than we had to make us form haha.
But Moon was so kind. She always forgave me, always was there for me when I broke down, always listened, always loved me even though I didn't deserve it.
    She's why I healed. She's why I changed.
    So yeah.
If you have persecutors, please. Be patient and gentle with us. We're trying, we just... don't know how.

My persecutor is also a protector. When I was getting abused, I wished so hard to be someone who would fight back when I got cornered. She protects the body, but she hurts (mostly verbal) others who pose a threat. She became self injurious during the body's teen years. She's better now about that, but she's still got a temper.

What about making a video about alters who don't identify with the body, but who have been long-term hosts since childhood, and how that experience might compare/contrast with the experience of long-term hosts who identify with the body? Especially when the non-identifying alter has had intense dissociative barriers between them and everyone else for... Ever. Idk I think it would create a really interesting discussion in the comments on varied experience.

Judas (persecutor, maybe something else too now?) has been doing really well. He was forced to sort of take on a bigger more host-like role since the previous host has kind of disappeared and the rest of us have been scrambling trying to figure out what to do. He's been an extremely big help. We've been going through a lot lately and he's really stepped up in an unexpected way. -Jonas (social alter, since I was talking about roles)

For years: from my childhood to the teenage years, I was fighting with my own persecutor and he held many traumas and made me remember forcefully like "Oh yeah? You are gonna lose weight? You've tried this for so many times and you will not be able to do it again." but I discovered my DID on university years and then made a couple research on that. So many people were suggesting that I needed to communicate my alters and I did that and now this 'Evil Altar' of mine stopped make me remember bad things, actually he becomes a fiery protector like I sometimes hide my main character behind him and say "I'm powerless" and he instantly says "Okay leave this situation to me, no one can get through from my anger to hurt you. You are safe with me." like he gained some kind of confident and he even can defend other 8 alters of me. Although his energy of anger keeps increasing so I decided to use that energy with the cardio and boxing stuff. I wouldn't believe that the alter who bullies me with my own weight becomes the alter that encourage me to lose weight. So, that was the story of my evil alter becomes a powerful guardian. : ' )

Thank you guys so much for making these videos! I do not have DID, but I do have trauma and dissociate. These videos help me understand how other people's brains work, along with my own. You might be surprised with how much of what happens to the brain to create DID goes along with most people! This information has helped me realize when both myself, and the people around me go into different mindsets, and has helped me diffuse different situations with a way of explaining that makes sense. So thank you all again!! 💜

Just curious, but when an event happens in your inner world or to a specific alter does this usually have a psychological explanation? I guess what I mean is, for example, would the war symbolize some sort of inner turmoil, or do other major events tie in to what may be going on subconciously?
I guess that question might lead to other questions... and over all my questions might be dumb, but I'm just very curious.
