  • This video goes out to all the hosts! Being a host is really hard, so here’s a little speech that I kind of just threw together in my head in an effort to raise morale in our system, but it turned out to be something that might help others too, so I did my best to yeet it into video form so we could share it with you all! Stay strong everybody!
And thanks for all your patience with our schedules! The trauma recovery is real over here, but we’re not gonna quit! 💪🏻😆

Hey Devon, great to see you. I'm so glad to hear that your living situation is improved, and that you're feeling less anxious.

As host, I really appreciated this video! Personally I've taken up the task of managing body time between us. Things like trying to fairly distribute who gets to partake in their hobbies when, (attempting) to divvy up who has to go to work, and the one I probably put the most work towards: who goes to therapy each week. It's hard and it's a new aspect of this role for me, but it's been rewarding to work on it! -Sandra

Gotta save this video for our name holder (even though they're not the only actual host).
    "You can be a team."
This is so true. I like it that we collectively started to do this right when our name holder realised there are several of us here. Or actually even earlier, because many of us have had appreciation towards one another even when we didn't truly know we are individuals. There's still a lot to do but luckily we are in this together. It really helps incredibly much to know we're a team and not just one weirdly functioning individual, that sucked (...oh that wasn't me, that was Luukas). Now we can help each other instead of trying to decide what "I" "actually want".
    [regards, Oliver]
    ....
p.s. Confession: Okay I need to say I have been trying to lead us into direction that's not helpful right now, because of being impatient with recovering. I guess I have to contemplate on this one and learn to collaborate better...

    thank you. i needed this.
i've been hosting since the body was nine. i'm probably the closest to the core there is. it feels like my fault, and i needed to hear someone else tell me it's not. have an amazing day, Devon. you deserve it.

Thank you so much for this video Devon. I have had such a rough time accepting the fact that I'm the host of our system. A lot of people see me as 'the depressed one' and it's been hard learning to live myself and not hate myself. I just want to thank you for making this video because it's inspired me to see myself as more than just 'the boring one'

Ohmygoodness 100%. There’s so many responsibilities to being a host, but I’ve found that in my system, whoever is the host during any time period is usually the one best suited for the role at that point in our life. Mine fall into the role naturally, though we don’t always do a good job! We worked really hard to become as co-conscious as we are now, so there’s barely a need for a host. But during rough times, it’s always the host that had to make the tough decisions and stick to them.

This made me feel... so much better about being a host. You got me tearing up at “it’s not your fault” - I’ve always felt bad or guilty or sad about my role.

Your words ‘it’s not your fault [as a host]’, made my cry inside; because I feel + think 24/7, that everything whats [not] happening is my fault, is my responsibility and I have to change it !! Thanks for these lovely words 🌈🌷✨

The Aragorn analogy is so apt! I know I've struggled with being the host and feeling like I'm somehow either not worthy of the role or having nothing of value to contribute to the whole. Doing ok at the moment, but this still helps so much. -Kate

I do not have DID but I have a friend who does. I have met three of his four alters, but he hasn't. His alters have told me not to tell him about them and I respect that, but I don't actually know if it is the right thing to do. I have been reading so much about DID and trying to learn as much as I can so I can support him through this even though he doesn't know it's happening. So since I know there's a lot of people who actually do have DID and are in contact with their alters, I want to ask all of you how I should best support him. Because I love him and I love his alters as well. And I want to help him be the best he can be. So literally any firsthand advice any of you can give me I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!!

Man, any tips for a system that lives in a country that doesn't have good development on psychology? Cuz like, in our country they're still getting used to the idea of women with autism (they don't diagnose a lot of women who are clearly in the spectrum) and they don't distinguish DID from OSDD. They still consider dissociative disorders something extremely rare and man... Our country's psychology is so late to the party, it sucks. How do we get the help we need if our country can't provide it? We don't have that much money to spend on medical bills so... yeah, our only option so far is waiting until we can move to another country, but even tho we keep telling ourselves that we just have to wait and eventually we'll do something about our trauma and our conditions, the host reminds us that "if we had cancer we wouldn't wait to treat it later", you know? It's difficult. It's a difficult situation. We thought about online counseling, but again, we don't have that much money to spend on that and our health insurance wouldn't cover it. What can we do? Is there something else we can do?
Thanks for taking your time to read this, we appreciate it a lot.
    -Vica from the Twilight System.

Man, I can relate. Most of my denial comes from the fact that my country and the people around me would not understand and just outright not believe me. And it hurts to suffer alone. These videos are my only hope to not give up and try to get to know my system more, instead of believing that this is just all from my imagination and my feelings are not valid. I can never thank DID channels enough.

I know Hollow isn't in this, but I have a few questions about/for him. I'm planning on making something for him (can't say it'll be done anytime soon). Do you know what his favorite type of font is? And what would a good secondary color be besides the perfect shade of blue? Thank you! I have a few other projects first, but I want to get this planned before I start it! I love the whole system, but I want to make something for his box 💙
