Aphantasia is inability to see or create any images in the mind. Most people seem to ‘see’ what they imagine or remember or even dream. People with aphantasia don’t. I have aphantasia and my system does have in inner world but I think it may be slightly different from a lot of others. I really don’t feel safe giving much information about how things are internally for us or how our system works, and also don’t quite know how to put into words how things seem to differ for us but maybe the best way to describe it is to say that our internal world is less ‘solid’ or ‘anchored together’ than how I’ve heard most systems recount their inner worlds. We couldn’t exactly map it or say where different parts of it are located (just like we would have great difficulty doing that with any real world place we have been. Things like maps and navigational directions are almost impossible for us as we can’t invasion anything we are not actually currently looking at) although we could describe the important features of different areas, and the way we navigate around it doesn’t work like walking around a place in the real world does. Interesting to note that I don’t know if different alters vary slightly in the extent of aphantasia they experience because I sometimes feel like I get closer to seeing images when one particular alter communicates with me than I can with my own thoughts even though even that is far from the kind of visualisation most people seem to be capable of.
i have aphantasia too and i kinda do experience what you do too. like im pretty sure if another alter doesnt have aphantasia im pretty sure they could picture the inner world idk what the hell im saying coz i just lost my train of thoughts uhm...heck

I have aphantasia too! For me most of my alters can access the inner world and they claim it is pretty vivid, though once they front thy have difficulty visualizing and explaining it as well. And then for myself, I can’t enter the inner world. Sometimes it’s like I can see it in the distance but I think that only happens when another alter is close by, not Sure. But when I go into the headspace nobody is totally sure where I go. And I can’t remember because I can’t visualize it soooo XD
The history of Vanaheim would make an incredible epic fantasy series absolutely! The best part about writing system non-fiction down is that you can pitch it as fiction in some way, and it makes it a really good way to practice writing and all of that stuff! It's how I started out as an author, way back when there was only five of us I'd also quite like to see it as a world in a 2D JRPG honestly. That would be such a cool way to make the scale of it evident (I am a video game nerd I apologise I make them so my brain is very oriented on them) Love this video! Talking about inner worlds is such an adventure. It always make me feel like a silly skittle and some people look at me like i'm bonker!!! i've quite a few questions about the inner world. i've only come to terms with my diagnoses and am not able to enter the inner world as i'm the host and can only talk to a few alters who doesn't really answer my questions at all. 1. is there a sence of time in the inner world? like is it the same time as in the outer world / can it change depending on where you are in the inner world / only night or day or actually time / etc.. 2. i've heard about people reading inside the inner world. as someone who likes psychology and all that i was wondering about that, bc how it is possible to read when you have never actually read that book here in the outer world? like how can you know what is written down? so my questions related to that is: can you only reread books that you've read here or is it somehow possible to just read books as how they are out here or are they all fictive books? just about reading books in the inner world in general. it kinda confuses me a lot. 3. some alters can cook in the inner world. now my questions is if that taste the same, stay only edible for a few hours or days if you've a fridge or if they are all just what you want it to be and can be eaten even years later? 4. this question is regarding flowers. do they grow in real time or can they be a seed one day and the next a full grown plants? and like tomatoes or strawberries, can they be eaten.. etc? 5. can you learn a language when you're in the inner world? since tecnically you can't have a knowledge of how that language is, do you have to be in the outer world to learn one? 6. if you learn a skill in the inner world, can you still do that in the outer world? say skateboarding: if you learn a few tricks, can you still do them in this world? 7. is there internet and can you watch movies/series? i know it's a lot and i'm not sure if i made any sense. if it's overwhelming or don't wanna answers, that's fine. i thought i can always try to write them down and then it's up to you what you wanna do with that. i'm okay with whatever you chose and if you are willing/able to answer a few or just one, that's already so helpful. apart from all that, i wish you all the best and i hope you'll have a great day!
1) yes! Sometimes time is the same inner or outerworld sometimes different! 2) for like factual things then only something another alter has read or heard about at some point but the brain will just come up with its own stories for books or compile info someone in the system already knows about stuff into a book 3) It depends! At least for us most things that we have also eaten in the outerworld taste the same and once again it depends! 4) depends yet again lol 5) as long as someone in the system knows it you can, or the brain can convince itself its speaking a language and it sounds like that language in the innerworld but often you wont be able to in the outer world 6) most times yes! 7) depends on the system but for us at least yes and its the same with the books! hope this helped - Camryon

Yessss, thanks for this! I love to hear what others inner World’s are like. We don’t have nearly as many people in our tribe, but we do have 2 huge planets for some reason. A lot of it is still undiscovered as well, so who knows... One planet is reflective of the outer reality and the other is kinda like Pandora from The Avatar movie, with different species.

an alter named viper came out yesterday and he was ranting and raving about how this world was "Wrong" and all the colors were "inverted" and a bunch of other stuff. he had existed in one of the worlds in our inner universe for like 6000 years apparently. he talked really weird because he had never tried to speak before. my friends were really fasinated by him so i'm just going off what they told me since i don't remember. but he def wasn't new like he hadn't just split off. so i guess alters can exist in the inner world for a while. also, he said hed never fully fronted but been co con but only in the dark when we were alone.

I had childhood emotional neglect, which has affected me all my life. I would love an inner world to go into and leave alters who were stronger than me take over. I suffer with depression, social anxiety disorder. I wish I had alters to take over😟
Jayne Pete it sounds nice in theory but in the end it’s not better it’s really hard and stressful to care for the altars and the trama. It’s difficult with the amnesiac walls. I’d suggest reading (nice) books, watching movies, and writing to deal with the want to leave this world. I hope this helps. -Dakota

Your inner world very much reminds me of a show called into the badlands. Great show btw. Each region is run by a family and each region is known for a specific thing. Like 1 region special lizes in warriors or food or clothing. Each location teades with each other and leaders of each location want to rule all the regions. And theres a big issue with it.

Haha) our inner world also has quite a lot of history as well but it's not something we have ever really heard other systems talk about as much. Also, it was really nice to see another inner world that was quite, I dunno, alternative? We sometimes feel like ours is too bizarre to explain to people, because it seems so different to the outer world, so it was really lovely to hear you talk so normally about the abstract aspects of your planet. I’m kinda looking at the map like the human brain. Left hemisphere (The East) and Right hemisphere (The West) in a 1st person perspective. The places on the map are sort of neuron synapse - clustered together and access some memories of (visions, sound, smell, taste, feelings) from the amigdala that the body collected as long term memories over the years. Those synapses formed from different locations made those personalities and become a true person. I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL, of course it’s just my theory from what I have learned in the basics of brain and nervous system in highschool. In my opinion, DID shouldn’t be concidered a disorder. It’s trully amazing and brilliant how the human brain complexity is. You should consider it as a gift, be positive about it and embrace it. I’m pretty sure your inner world is spectacular! 😲
Our innerworld is almost like a themepark thats like really bright and colorful but you kinda gotta find your way out of the nothingness area. There's a door with litte doodles that everyone makes when they get here. My favorite doodle is probably Januses, it's just a snek (yes it's spelled like that)

This is really interesting we may make a video on our inner world. We also have regions based on east/west/north/south and we even have a hierarchy based on species.
I don't have DID but I would imagine that having people ask or are interested is a lot better than people who don't and you could get bullied. My sons have....one son has ADHD and my other son has Aspergers and oppositional defiant disorder. All I ever wanted when they were growing up was understanding. Only a handful of people understood, my heart broke for them because nobody understood.
It depends on the being that has DID that you say it to. Us personally, it's not offensive, but it's kind of annoying. We understand where people are coming from, psychology is fascinating in general.

Don't worry you're not toooo weird, in my inner world some of us loooooooooove burgers!! well there, we pick burgers off trees. Our trees are food trees? So some of them produce different foods? It depends on the season/weather? After the first harvest is collected there's a new type of food.
Mate I gotta say this is exactly the video I was looking for and I do want to make a disclaimer that I won't go into detail but I will explain negative things about the possible system I may or may not have So for example the reason for going to a specialist to get it looked out and thst is the clear inner world thst I have it used to be on earth but over time I left the planet and completely moved to another planet which I think I was told the name of at one point but thats been forgotten and time has gone by as in thousands of years so yeah if I had alters they aren't human everyone is actually an insect dragon human hybrid referring to the huunterz after a while I thought that this can't be normal and I started to get quite frustrated that this was a thing in my head and thought maybe I was going insane so I looked at a long list of disorders and found DID and you explained it perfectly I dont know any alters whats strange but I do get spoken to I just thought that's me talking to myself but its starting to sound like its something much much more I am going through a councelour and haven't brought it up yet but I dont really know what to think about it myself does anyone possibly relate in any way?
When you described the North It reminded me of Monterrey, Nuevo León a city in the middle of mountains in México which Is in the North of México :v I don't think yall got inspiration from there but it's interesting the similarities
Before I found out about my did My inner world was just a building with a bunch of random characters from my fandoms and the building was just a tall triangle with a ball on top and The fictional characters would talk to me and tell me not to do things and The outside of the building was just light blue forever in any direction you looked. Wow. I don't remember shit. Edit before an alter takes this down there's buildings around us but we couldn't get in them.
I have trouble being one being in one body. How do you all cope, I mean function in this world without confusion? When one of you is fronting are you aware of what is going on in the inner world? If one of you is always fronting, how do you know an inner world exists?
@ Cannelle Christy, It definitely takes a loooot of work; constant use of organizational tools (journals, calendars, meetings, etc.), mostly. It’s kinda like a ginormous commune, lol. Communication is key, just like any relationship(s). One way to describe it is like having a revolving door between two dimensions, if one (or more) isn’t fronting, they’re in the inner world. At least for us, we all have very unique systems. We work more as a tribe because we come from indigenous tribal cultures in the outer world and we just function better that way. -Kahaulani
Super late but I’ve been experiencing some problems with my inner world. So everything was fine until my closest friend started being completely rude to us. Saying we’re “toxic” to telling us to shut up, to telling us to get rid of alters who’ve gotten mad at him (they never called him names at all) despite his “alters” have called me fat and told me to kill myself.. (he says he has alters but he’s never dissociated in any way and if he did he would know not to throw mine around... especially not rate how they look on a scale of 1-10. I’m not trying to invalidate him. It just gives me red flags...) But after he did all that our inner world shattered. Going in there only resulted in pure emptiness and crushing gravity. (When an alter came back to front, they always had back pain from the pressure..) It’s gotten worse to where I haven’t been able to hear my alters that well. And maybe it’s because of what’s happened but- idk. We split because of my friends actions, and brought back an alter who has been known to be overly aggressive and harmful. Now one of my old “overly protective” alters have been more active.. I’ve tried to ground myself and draw out the inner world (which helped me be less panicked... but it didn’t resolve the issue.) The pressure in there has gotten a little less painful, so that’s improvement.. but idk what to do and how to come across this problem.
Well not sure what the whole issue is but infighting among the people in the real world can ruin that job or that place to stay with a friend making life bad to live. Try letting it go that guy has mental illness just like you. Doesn't mean you need to be friends with him, but don't hold anger strongly against him as a system and your inner world will return.

Lowkey wish I had alters so I wasn't so lonely all the time. I do understand that this is a trauma based disorder and it sounds like someone saying "man I wish I had PTSD" or something like that. I also understand there are many struggles people with DID go through. I just wish I had a personality to begin with.

an alter named viper came out yesterday and he was ranting and raving about how this world was "Wrong" and all the colors were "inverted" and a bunch of other stuff. he had existed in one of the worlds in our inner universe for like 6000 years apparently. he talked really weird because he had never tried to speak before. my friends were really fasinated by him so i'm just going off what they told me since i don't remember. but he def wasn't new like he hadn't just split off. so i guess alters can exist in the inner world for a while. also, he said hed never fully fronted but been co con but only in the dark when we were alone.

I had childhood emotional neglect, which has affected me all my life. I would love an inner world to go into and leave alters who were stronger than me take over. I suffer with depression, social anxiety disorder. I wish I had alters to take over😟
Jayne Pete it sounds nice in theory but in the end it’s not better it’s really hard and stressful to care for the altars and the trama. It’s difficult with the amnesiac walls. I’d suggest reading (nice) books, watching movies, and writing to deal with the want to leave this world. I hope this helps. -Dakota

At this point, it’s closer to 150 alters, and we couldn’t hope to count the holograms 😂 there are cities full of them to make the inner world look less empty, since it’s a whole planet

Your inner world very much reminds me of a show called into the badlands. Great show btw. Each region is run by a family and each region is known for a specific thing. Like 1 region special lizes in warriors or food or clothing. Each location teades with each other and leaders of each location want to rule all the regions. And theres a big issue with it.

Haha) our inner world also has quite a lot of history as well but it's not something we have ever really heard other systems talk about as much. I’m kinda looking at the map like the human brain. Left hemisphere (The East) and Right hemisphere (The West) in a 1st person perspective. The places on the map are sort of neuron synapse - clustered together and access some memories of (visions, sound, smell, taste, feelings) from the amigdala that the body collected as long term memories over the years. Those synapses formed from different locations made those personalities and become a true person. I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL, of course it’s just my theory from what I have learned in the basics of brain and nervous system in highschool. In my opinion, DID shouldn’t be concidered a disorder. It’s trully amazing and brilliant how the human brain complexity is. You should consider it as a gift, be positive about it and embrace it. I’m pretty sure your inner world is spectacular! 😲

Our innerworld is almost like a themepark thats like really bright and colorful but you kinda gotta find your way out of the nothingness area. There's a door with litte doodles that everyone makes when they get here. My favorite doodle is probably Januses, it's just a snek (yes it's spelled like that)

Hey, I have a question. I'm guilty of this myself, but when people keep commenting on how 'interesting' DID is, is it offensive?
I don't have DID but I would imagine that having people ask or are interested is a lot better than people who don't and you could get bullied. My sons have....one son has ADHD and my other son has Aspergers and oppositional defiant disorder. All I ever wanted when they were growing up was understanding. Only a handful of people understood, my heart broke for them because nobody understood.
It depends on the being that has DID that you say it to. Us personally, it's not offensive, but it's kind of annoying. We understand where people are coming from, psychology is fascinating in general.

Mate I gotta say this is exactly the video I was looking for and I do want to make a disclaimer that I won't go into detail but I will explain negative things about the possible system I may or may not have
So for example the reason for going to a specialist to get it looked out and thst is the clear inner world thst I have it used to be on earth but over time I left the planet and completely moved to another planet which I think I was told the name of at one point but thats been forgotten and time has gone by as in thousands of years so yeah if I had alters they aren't human everyone is actually an insect dragon human hybrid referring to the huunterz after a while I thought that this can't be normal and I started to get quite frustrated that this was a thing in my head and thought maybe I was going insane so I looked at a long list of disorders and found DID and you explained it perfectly I dont know any alters whats strange but I do get spoken to I just thought that's me talking to myself but its starting to sound like its something much much more I am going through a councelour and haven't brought it up yet but I dont really know what to think about it myself does anyone possibly relate in any way?

Before I found out about my did My inner world was just a building with a bunch of random characters from my fandoms and the building was just a tall triangle with a ball on top and The fictional characters would talk to me and tell me not to do things and The outside of the building was just light blue forever in any direction you looked.

@ Cannelle Christy, It definitely takes a loooot of work; constant use of organizational tools (journals, calendars, meetings, etc.), mostly. It’s kinda like a ginormous commune, lol. Communication is key, just like any relationship(s). One way to describe it is like having a revolving door between two dimensions, if one (or more) isn’t fronting, they’re in the inner world. At least for us, we all have very unique systems. We work more as a tribe because we come from indigenous tribal cultures in the outer world and we just function better that way. -Kahaulani

Super late but I’ve been experiencing some problems with my inner world.
So everything was fine until my closest friend started being completely rude to us. Saying we’re “toxic” to telling us to shut up, to telling us to get rid of alters who’ve gotten mad at him (they never called him names at all) despite his “alters” have called me fat and told me to kill myself.. (he says he has alters but he’s never dissociated in any way and if he did he would know not to throw mine around... especially not rate how they look on a scale of 1-10. I’m not trying to invalidate him. It just gives me red flags...)
But after he did all that our inner world shattered. Going in there only resulted in pure emptiness and crushing gravity. (When an alter came back to front, they always had back pain from the pressure..)
It’s gotten worse to where I haven’t been able to hear my alters that well.
And maybe it’s because of what’s happened but- idk. We split because of my friends actions, and brought back an alter who has been known to be overly aggressive and harmful. Now one of my old “overly protective” alters have been more active..
I’ve tried to ground myself and draw out the inner world (which helped me be less panicked... but it didn’t resolve the issue.)
The pressure in there has gotten a little less painful, so that’s improvement.. but idk what to do and how to come across this problem.
Well not sure what the whole issue is but infighting among the people in the real world can ruin that job or that place to stay with a friend making life bad to live. Try letting it go that guy has mental illness just like you. Doesn't mean you need to be friends with him, but don't hold anger strongly against him as a system and your inner world will return.
