The eye colour change is really fascinating! I do amateur iridology and would be very curious to see clear, closeup photo's of irises to compare if there are differences.

Holy crap we never thought about eye color being a DID thing. As a teen a mom on our softball team was obsessed w checking our eye color every day bc they change color “randomly”. Our right eye actually splits in two colors. Green on one side brown on the other.

Our one eye is significantly lighter hazel than the other, we have astigmatism differently in each eye, one is convex and one is concave, one eye is near sighted and one is far sighted. Our doctor said it's like we have eyeballs from two different bodies. (She doesn't know about our disorder). I wonder if this is because some alters present more on the left side (like animals with fangs and such). Maybe different eyes is more common in systems than we think. Hmm. Interesting thought.

Nice glow cloud, all hail. An alter in our system, Aiden, is the only one of us that has synesthesia and it's truly bizarre.
If anybody's co-conscious, do they get synesthesia too?
@@fienevandijk7224 Kinda. I kinda pick up on it a bit better than our headmate, Max. Max has a sharp mental eye, but synesthesia just sorta goes over his head for some reason. It's mostly based around colors having smells in his case and that just doesn't make sense to Max.

I wonder if it's because different alters use different parts of the brain. I heard Chloe from DissociaDID once say that MRIs had been done while switching and brain activity shifted to other parts of the brain. It would then make sense that only one alter has synesthesia because synesthesia is caused by parts of the brain that should not be connected (like sight and smell) being connected. So if that alter is the only one who uses the over-connected part of the brain, they would be the only one to have synesthesia. This is all pure speculation though so take this with a grain of salt
That's so true about littles being impacted more when you put certain things in your body. For us we also noticed that when we get sick if a little comes out it impacts them more, same with being in any sort of pain really. It's just so overwhelming for them. Cool vid. Oh wow our eyes also change colors! So cool to know we aren't the only ones with that. We've also had one eye be one color, while the other eye being a different color, and was wondering if that's because we were co-fronting at the time. We only know that though because someone pointed it out to us years ago. We obviously don't stare at our eyes all the time to see if they change anymore, and don't know what coorelates with what alter exactly, but our eyes do change colors!

I personally only found out we were a system 7 months ago. So far we're a relatively small system of 5.... As far as we know

We have over forty in our system. Most of us are not human and male. Our inner world is separated into sections in which people live. Alters can’t go into other peoples realms. I guess this is a thing because we have a lot of fictives and they have their own homes from whatever series or internet creator. Magnus has his apartment, Juniper, Faust, Malak and Lucio’s sub system have Vesuvia, Sinner’s sub system and Aspen have their house, Dipper has the gravity falls world, Isis has an ancient Egypt world, Yuuri and otabek have a home in Russia, Kay and Caleb have their house, random alters have the randomites mansion, Hedwig has her trailer in a trailer park, and others that I can’t remember. We have more alters that I don’t know exist personally as I’m new to the system. We have two sub systems. One of three and one of two. I don’t know why they developed but their past that they had written in our system would cause DID in a child so idk. We’re pretty complex. Thanks for reading if you do. -Hedwig
this makes me think of one of our recently discovered headmates, who is a succulent plant. they are precious and excitable, and they haven't picked a name yet because they like so many, lol. none of us (to my knowledge) in the body are human, we have all sorts of creatures, critters, and beings in our collective, and are discovering more regularly. also, yay for awkward! we celebrate these things.
When we learn more it makes more sense we are a system! The bodies eye color does change depending on whose out.
For the hair: purple or aquamarine (greenish blue)! Though both are hard to mantain!
A few systems we know IRL, including ours, seem to have this experience: littles switching to front when drunk or high, and they seem to be totally sober for some reason! I find that super interesting.

Videos like this make me happy and to see fun facts like this helps!! i use vids like yours to help me share a lot of info when I'm not able to front to explain it myself. like a friend asks me a question about did while they were on break at work but a little is fronting- i try and get the little to shoot them the video and then it's taken care of! ^^
and the eyes of the system change color is something I just learned about- I didn't know that it could change due to whos fronting but people have noticed our shared body's eyes go from green, gray, blue, and more. thanks for the cool ass video!
i also just learned the allergies thing it might explain why some alters have an easier time with the cat that we live with lol
Cool facts not necessarily covered:
Within "alters can be anything", that includes alters based on fictional characters and real people (be they celebrities, historical figures, loved ones, or abusers). These particular alter types are referred to as introjects, and they are more prone to what is known as pseudomemories. There's also no upper limit to how many introjects a person can have, and it's not uncommon for people to have lots of fictives, even ones from recent media
Pseudomemories are memories that an alter has that do not come from the body. This is mostly a thing introjects experience, but it is not exclusive to them. For introjects, it also doesn't have to line up with their "source" very much - for example, in my system Momo's pseudomemories are of a completely different timeline than her source, whilst Tobari's line up perfectly in the worst possible way
In regards to discussion of inner worlds: it's also okay to not have an inner world at all. This can be quite common, and some people have to work really hard to make an inner world, whilst it's effortless to some, and maybe even impossible to others. Also, inner worlds can grow over time, or even change completely, based on the needs of the system. The example I know for this is Entropy System's changed from an island to a city (ours just keeps "adding on" areas)
In regards to differences between alters: Alters can also have widely differing tastes. and tolerances. For example, my alter Yuugi cannot eat meat at all, my alter 52055 can only eat soft foods, and my alter Zero has a very high spice tolerance. Within this, they can have different favorite foods (as well as favorite colors and sounds and basically anything that can be a "favorite")
This is the first time I have heard someone say that it is “okay to not have an inner world at all” - which is something I have really struggled with. Either I don’t have an inner world or I don’t remember it when I front. None of us are aware of an inner world, that I know of. Which has caused me to doubt my diagnosis.... I have tried to make an inner world but not succeeded so far. I do think it would help with system communication, if we could have a “headspace” where we could talk to each other...

This is really interesting. My husband is a DID system and I almost always know when the protector of his system (Max) is fronting because his eyes turn completely gray.
we did neon green a few weeks ago and the littles are Living For It! definitely suggest a neon colour at some point!

This made me think of one time when an older alter wanted to get an alcoholic drink, but we had to talk him out of it since 1) Me, the host, is underage and 2) We had already planned to let the littles play with my cousins later, who were all around 5-10 at the time..😂 he was fine with it, but it's still hella funny to look back on.^^

Hey Devon! Question for you, or anyone else who know anything about this. So Hi, I'm Sammy (16/he/him). I'm one of the age sliding alters in our system. I don't talk that much and I'm partially blind. Crow (Basically my protector/buddy/helper) comes out and helps me text, walk, and see things I need to. He just shares the head space with me if I ever need his assistance to get around. Is this common? Also, I'm guessing I'm blind because of a past trauma, but I still don't know why I'm blind... Any systems that want to share their experiences with me, I'm all ears.

Oh yeah, the tolerance thing. I may be guilty of that. Not with littles, but with my brother. He fronted after me last night and it did not go well. I have a much higher tolerance for things than he does. He was less than pleased with me.

In our system Our eye colour changes slightly, when I'm fronting the eyes are blue, darker blue, almost grey and sort of gold? probably a pale brown, but gold sounds cooler. But if Tamara is fronting the eyes are brighter blue and doesn't have the brown.
I also can't have paracetamol because it makes me dizzy and headachey while Noa can't have ibuprofen (what I and most of the system uses) because it makes him sick.
I also fucking hate spicy foods but Shota loves them. I don't like one brand of chocolate either but the littles go mad for it. I also dislike coffee but Octavia and Inger basically live off it.

How on earth does a system interact with an alter that can’t physically communicate? (Like a rock or tree etc.) that would seem complicated. 🤔
The way I understand it, non-human alters are powered by child logic. The Piñata System had a cat alter, but he could speak English and interact with the outside world when he fronted because he was using the real-world body. So I suppose if you imagine an anthropomorphic cartoon character that is a tree or a blanket, but can also talk.
Oh boi I personally notice this when I switch out after a sort of floppy or easy going alter was fronting and we're hungry so they probably didn't even notice or just drank some coke and called it a day but as soon as I start fronting I'll literally be willing to munch on a cupboard and idk if it's because their metabolism is way slower than mine or what but damn

Galaxy Peacock System I think that different alters can have different metabolisms. My/our body has two metabolic disorders, but I notice the medicine doesn’t work as well for some alters as it does for other alters. And we all have very different appetites and energy levels.
the first fact about alters being anything really made me feel better, cause we have 3 introjects and 1 angel in our system which, to singlets, seems really odd.

Love your videos and how informative they are. Though the audio is a bit quiet and it makes it difficult to hear. Sometimes if I have my phone volume all the way up I still can't hear you if there's even the slightest background noise. Not sure if this is a thing that's been explained or acknowledged in the past.

There was this when Im just hiding in the library away fro the bullies and tryin to read these thick english books and novels stacked in the corner of the library then there was this chinese novel that mentioned the myth about someone with a ten thousand faces, and that was way back depicted in ancient china, so its a wonder if these famed ten thousand faces was a case of someone with a DID in the ancient times. But that moment I dont know what it was in a more scientific term, but there i found put that other people could live along inside a one body. Well, other than spirit possession since I am living in a country with strong culture of catholic religion.

One of the things that make us feel a bit less valid is that we don’t seem to have a big difference in any of our voices.
The S’mores System. You are so valid! It’s actually pretty common for it to be covert.
We're the same our voices are only slightly different. Someone has to be really listening to pick up the change.
The Node System. Same with my system. Our voices seem very similar, and really weird is that I am journaling and I don’t see differences in handwriting. It gives us doubts about our diagnosis...but then there is a lot of overwhelming evidence FOR our diagnosis of OSDD...so it’s mostly just confusing to have the same/similar voice and handwriting.

It's all good! Those alters would be classified as something more like fragments- alters that hold a more singular purpose, and they're usually not as developed as regular alters

Hey, did you know that you can choose one Alter..the positive, healthiest and closest one to your physical body characteristics (like sex) and your intellect and pay more attention and give more love to it and gently dismiss the rest and just use plain singular pronoun "I am", feeling good, happy and grateful for your I am (aka soul)? It is described as a miraculous healing in wise books.👍
