- Huel has released a new selection pack of their ready to drink Huel Shakes - Huel V2.0. There are 4 new flavours, promises of an improved texture. Are the flavours any good? Is the texture better? Does it taste better than a Yazoo? And are they worth twice the price per meal than the powder shakes?

I just recently found Huel, and after watching your videos (as well as a few others) I decided to give it a try. I was originally only interested in the Hot & Savory, but I figured I’d buy a couple bags of the regular Huel powder to try while I was at it. I bought one bag of every flavor of the Hot & Savory, and then just a couple bags of the regular Huel powder. I did not expect to like the regular Huel at all - I was expecting it to be like the normal protein powders I have tried before which I never liked. But I love the texture and that “Huel flavor” you talk about. I love that they’re not overly sweet (one of the things I hated most about protein powders). I’m the kind of person who, once I find something I like, I buy it in bulk. At least in the U.S. you can buy up to 16 bags per order, which brings the per-meal price down to less than half. So I did that with both the regular Huel powder and the Hot & Savory. They were raising prices on December 9th so I wanted to get as much as I could before that. Including all the bags I bought in my initial order I now have a closet upstairs absolutely packed with Huel. I use one serving of the regular Huel powder and one serving of the Hot & Savory every workday - it’s been such a huge help to me to have easy-to make, no stress, tasty food every day at work. And I feel so much better about how I’m eating because as life has gotten busier and crazier I found myself eating VERY poorly on work days.
On this last order, because they shipped me over 30 bags in one box, one of the bags of the Huel powder got damaged. I let them know and they sent me a replacement bag as well as a selection box of these ready-to-drink meals. I have yet to try them, but that’s what led me to this particular video of yours. Although the flavors we have available in the U.S. are different - only vanilla, berry, banana, and chocolate.
Anyway, I realize you don’t want to hear my whole life story lol. Normally I don’t comment on videos, but I figured worst case scenario I’m helping boost engagement! Just thought I’d let you know that your videos are reaching people and are helpful! I did try and use your referral code thing for Huel, but unfortunately it wouldn’t work.
Never apologise for a life story, that was fascinating to read! I think you've got the V1.0 flavours box, where this is the v2.0 flavours box - they're still good though. And i'm not sure UK Huel does the bulk order/cost reduction option - just a subscription reduction. And sorry about the code -0 think it's just for the UK site! Glad you're getting on well with it though, sounds like it was a good option!
@@LittleTipple Looks like you were right about the v1.0 flavors as I woke up this morning to an email announcing the availability of the v2.0 flavors in the U.S! I hadn’t even noticed that on the box. It’s interesting to hear the differences between the U.K. and U.S. flavor names, even though they appear to be the same flavors (e.g. cinnamon roll vs. cinnamon swirl and strawberry shortcake vs. strawberries & cream). Thanks again!
@@MrThedennisblackyea our flavour names are.. the flavours where as the US names are more associating with unhealthy snacks consumed by US consumers more often perhaps?

Do you keep them in the fridge? If so, are they less palatable when they have been in your bag or office draw and at room temperature? Great videos, thanks. I can't seem to buy the flavour sachets though, so I've ordered a sample box of the RTD, based on your review.
I recommend that you blend huel. When i first tried huel, the texture made it almost undrinkable for me and it made me want to vomit. Now i use those handheld blender and its much better. I heard that refrigerating huel also makes it much more smoother, but i don't find the need to do that. Leaving huel on its own after blending, already makes it pretty smooth to me.
You didn’t mention the convenience of the complete lack of washing up, it’s a big thing for me but then I have conflicting feelings about the amount of waste (I do recycle them but still not great). What are your thoughts on this?
You're absolutely right - the lack of washing up is a huge benefot, but oddly, it's not one I'd noticed immediately - i tend to have my huel/queal during the morning, then put the shaker in my bag and wash it when I get home, so the two feel disconnected, if you see what I mean - it's only after a while that it really started to add up. Recycling is definitely the way to go, but you're right, not needing to recycle would be the ideal... compostable plant based bottles?
@@LittleTippleor they could have their own pfand-like system where you can send back your box with the empty bottles and receive some sort of reward, like a points based system, or a percentage off your next order?
As I don’t drink coffee, these would be fine for me as they’re half the price of a carry out Starbucks etc
Plus, the thing me you save etc , surely your time is more valuable and just think how much money you can waste on rubbish snacks like crisps and chocolate or cans of pop
And you should deffo be indulgent in life, a lesson I’ve learnt from the pandemic as life is short and why not spoil yourself now and again , if you can afford to #Simples 👍🏻

Have you thought about making normal Huel the night before and keep it in the fridge overnight?

The cost is outrageous when you can just buy a big bag of protein powder elsewhere for half the price that will make 2/3 times the amount of drinks compared to a box
This is not a protein powder, it is a meal replacement. When you look at it through that lens the price makes a lot more sense. It is still on the more expensive side, but as far as I know nothing comes close in terms of nutritional value.
If you drank nothing but protein shakes, you would die.
A lot of people will pay £3.50 for a meal deal.....the huel ready made shakes are a full meal with all of the vitamins you need
